Drought stress impairs crop growth and development.BEL1-like family transcription factors may be involved in plant response to drought stress,but little is known of the molecular mechanism by which these proteins regu...Drought stress impairs crop growth and development.BEL1-like family transcription factors may be involved in plant response to drought stress,but little is known of the molecular mechanism by which these proteins regulate plant response and defense to drought stress.Here we show that the BEL1-like transcription factor GhBLH5-A05 functions in cotton(Gossypium hirsutum)response and defense to drought stress.Expression of GhBLH5-A05 in cotton was induced by drought stress.Overexpression of GhBLH5-A05 in both Arabidopsis and cotton increased drought tolerance,whereas silencing GhBLH5-A05 in cotton resulted in elevated sensitivity to drought stress.GhBLH5-A05 binds to cis elements in the promoters of GhRD20-A09 and GhDREB2C-D05 to activate the expression of these genes.GhBLH5-A05 interacted with the KNOX transcription factor GhKNAT6-A03.Co-expression of GhBLH5-A05 and GhKNAT6-A03 increased the transcription of GhRD20-A09 and GhDREB2C-D05.We conclude that GhBLH5-A05 acts as a regulatory factor with GhKNAT6-A03 functioning in cotton response to drought stress by activating the expression of the drought-responsive genes GhRD20-A09 and GhDREB2C-D05.展开更多

The open circuit voltage ...The ZnO-modified TiO2 electrode was prepared by adding Zn(CH3COO)2·2H2O to the TiO2 colloid during the sol-gel production process, and was used in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). The open circuit voltage (Voc) and fill factor (if) of the cells were improved sig- nificantly. The performances of the ZnO-modified TiO2 electrode such as dark current, transient photocurrent, impedance, absorption spectra, and fiat band potential (Vfb) were investigated. It is found that the interface charge recombination impedance increases and Vfb shifts about 200 mV toward the cathodic potential. The effect mechanism of ZnO modification on the performance of DSCs may be that ZnO occupies the surface states of the TiO2 film.展开更多

Methods: Twenty-four healthy male wister rats was randomly divided into tw...Objective: To investigate the expression of miRNA21 in hippocampus of rats with pentylenetetrazol-induced epilepsy and its possible mechanism. Methods: Twenty-four healthy male wister rats was randomly divided into two groups, the normal group and the epilepsy group. The Racine grade scores of the two groups of rats were recorded to evaluate the establishment of a rat model of epilepsy. The differentially expressed of microRNAs targeting bcl-2 in the hippocampus of epileptic rats was screened by bioinformatics method. The expression of microRNA21 in hippocampus of epileptic rats was verified by qRT-PCR. Western blot and immunohistochemistry were used to detect the expression of Bcl-2 in rat hippocampus;Hoechst 33258 was used to detect the apoptosis of rat hippocampal neurons. Results: The Racine score of the rats in the epilepsy group was significantly higher than that in the normal control group (P<0.01). Compared with the normal group, the expression of miRNA21 in the hippocampus of the epileptic group increased (P<0.01) and the expression of Bcl-2 decreased (P<0.01). Conclusion: Epilepsy can up-regulate the expression of miRNA21 in rat hippocampal neurons, and it may further induce apoptosis of hippocampal neurons by down-regulating Bcl-2, which may affect epileptic rats.展开更多
The dominant species of a biome can be regarded as its genuine indicator.Evergreen broadleaved forests(EBLFs) in subtropical East Asia harbor high levels of species biodiversity and endemism and are vital to regional ...The dominant species of a biome can be regarded as its genuine indicator.Evergreen broadleaved forests(EBLFs) in subtropical East Asia harbor high levels of species biodiversity and endemism and are vital to regional carbon storage and cycling.However,the historical assembly of this unique biome is still controversial.Fagaceae is the most essential family in East Asian subtropical EBLFs and its dominant species are vital for the existence of this biome.Here,we used the dominant Fagaceae species to shed light on the dynamic process of East Asian subtropical EBLFs overtime.Our results indicate high precipitation in summer and low temperature in winter are the most influential climatic factors for the distribution of East Asian subtropical EBLFs.Modern East Asian subtropical EBLFs did not begin to appear until 23 Ma,subsequently experienced a longlasting development in the Miocene and markedly deteriorated at about 4 Ma,driven jointly by orogenesis and paleoclimate.We also document that there is a lag time between when one clade invaded the region and when its members become dominant species within the region.This study may improve our ability to predict and mitigate the threats to biodiversity of East Asian subtropical EBLFs and points to a new path for future studies involving multidisciplinary methods to explore the assembly of regional biomes.展开更多

The tensile strength and electrical conductivity of this alloy after various aging processes were tested. The results show that two kinds of crystallographic structure associated with chromium-rich phases, fcc and bcc structure, exist in the peak-aging of the alloy. The orientation relationship between bcc Cr precipitate and the matrix exhibits Nishiyama–Wasserman orientation relationship. Two kinds of Zr-rich phases(Cu4Zr and Cu5Zr)can be identified and the habit plane is parallel to {111}Cu plane during the aging. The increase in strength is ascribed to the precipitation of Cr- and Zr-rich phase.展开更多
