Melatonin,as a plant growth regulator,is involved in plant stress resistance.We studied the effects of different concentrations(0,10,50,100,150,and 200μmol·L−1)of melatonin on the growth and physiological characteristics of strawberry under cadmium(Cd)stress.The results represented that the growth of strawberry seedlings was inhibited under Cd stress,and the seedling biomass,chlorophyll content and the activities of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase(SOD),peroxidase(POD),catalase(CAT),and ascorbate peroxidase(APX)decreased.These toxic effects were,however,effectively remediated by exogenous melatonin pretreatment.Melatonin treatment slowed the inhibitory effect of seedling growth and significantly increased seedling biomass,chlorophyll content,antioxidant enzyme activities,and soluble protein levels in leaves and roots compared with the control.Melatonin treatment also reduced the malondialdehyde(MDA)content and the oxidative stress reactions,increased the anthocyanin content,and slowed the senescence rate,thereby reducing the toxic effects of Cd on strawberries.This indicates that foliar application of melatonin can effectively remediate the adverse effects of Cd on strawberry seedlings;the greatest effect was obtained with melatonin concentration of 100μmol·L−1. 展开更多

Rose(Rosa spp.)plants flower via two contrasting methods:once flowering(OF)and continuous flowering(CF).Purple branch is a rare continuously flowering variety of Rosa rugosa that is extensively cultivated in China.However,the genetic basis of its CF behavior is unknown.We demonstrated that Purple branch is heterozygous for the TFL1 homolog KSN.One KSN allele with a 9kb Copia insertion was found to be identical to that from continuously flowering Rosa chinensis Old blush.The other allele was found to be a functional wild-type allele.The overall expression of KSN was closely linked to the floral transition,and it was significantly repressed in continuously flowering Purple branch compared with OF Plena.The promoter region of the normal KSN allele was hypermethylated,and histone methylation at H3H4,H3K9,and H3K27 of the KSN gene locus was modified in continuously flowering Purple branch.Silencing of the DNA methyltransferase genes MET1 and CMT3 and the histone methyltransferase gene SUVR5 in Purple branch led to enhanced KSN expression,but silencing of the histone demethylase gene JMJ12 suppressed KSN expression.Therefore,the CF habit of Purple branch may be due to reduced expression of KSN caused by the halved dose and may be associated with epigenetic modifications together with retrotransposon insertions along the chromosome.Our study revealed a novel mechanism underlying the CF behavior of rose plants. 展开更多

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)are regarded as a promising competition to lithium-ion batteries as energy storage devices,owing to their high safety and low cost.However,the development of high-performance ZIBs is largely hindered by the shortage of ideal cathode materials with high-rate capability and long-cycle stability.Herein,we address this bottleneck issue by the quenching-tailored surface chemistry of V_(2)O_(5) cathode nanomaterial.By rapid quenching from high temperatures,Al ions are doped into V_(2)O_(5) lattice(Al-V_(2)O_(5))and abundant oxygen vacancies are formed on the surface/nearsurface,which facilitate the desired rapid electron transfers.Our density functional theory(DFT)simulations elucidate that the doping of Al ions into V_(2)O_(5) remarkably reduces the Zn^(2+)-diffusion barriers and improves the electrical conductivity of V_(2)O_(5).As a proof-of-concept application,the thus-optimized AlV_(2)O_(5) cathode delivers a superior specific capacity of 532 m Ah g^(-1) at 0.1 A g^(-1) and a long-cycling life with76%capacity retention after 5000 cycles,as well as a good rate performance.This work provides not only a novel strategy for tuning the surface chemistry of V_(2)O_(5) to boost the Zn^(2+)storage but also a general pathway of modifying metal oxides with improved electrochemical performance. 展开更多

This study aims to explore new categorization that characterizes the distribution clusters of visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissues(VAT and SAT)measured by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),to analyze the relationship between the VAT-SAT distribution patterns and the novel body shape descriptors(BSDs),and to develop a classifier to predict the fat distribution clusters using the BSDs.In the study,66 male and 54 female participants were scanned by MRI and a stereovision body imaging(SBI)to measure participants’abdominal VAT and SAT volumes and the BSDs.A fuzzy c-means algorithm was used to form the inherent grouping clusters of abdominal fat distributions.A support-vector-machine(SVM)classifier,with an embedded feature selection scheme,was employed to determine an optimal subset of the BSDs for predicting internal fat distributions.A fivefold cross-validation procedure was used to prevent over-fitting in the classification.The classification results of the BSDs were compared with those of the traditional anthropometric measurements and the Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry(DXA)measurements.Four clusters were identified for abdominal fat distributions:(1)low VAT and SAT,(2)elevated VAT and SAT,(3)higher SAT,and(4)higher VAT.The cross-validation accuracies of the traditional anthropometric,DXA and BSD measurements were 85.0%,87.5% and 90%,respectively.Compared to the traditional anthropometric and DXA measurements,the BSDs appeared to be effective and efficient in predicting abdominal fat distributions. 展开更多

Objective:To study the factors influencing the length of stay in patients with COVID-19.Methods:The clinical data of 110 patients with COVID-19 who were infected with Omicron virus for more than 10 days from April to May 2022 were collected.Their gender,age,smoking status,clinical manifestations related to pneumonia,whether they were combined with other basic diseases and vaccination status were analyzed.The above influencing factors were analyzed by single factor regression analysis,followed by Cox regression model analysis.Results:The age of patients had an effect on the length of hospital stay.The median length of hospital stay of patients that are<50 years old,50-64 years old and≥65 years old were 14,14,and 17 days respectively(χ^(2)=9.346,P=0.009).The presence of coronavirus-related symptoms also affects the length of hospital stay(χ^(2)=4.840,P=0.028).The results of multivariate regression model showed that age(χ^(2)=8.669,P=0.006)and coronavirus-related symptoms(χ^(2)=5.424,P=0.020)were independent factors affecting the length of hospital stay.Conclusion:During the development of COVID-19,the age of patients and whether they have coronavirus-related symptoms are positively correlated with the length of stay.Gender,habit of smoking,presence of other basic diseases and vaccination are not related to the length of stay. 展开更多

Aqueous rechargeable batteries are the promising energy storge technology due to their safety,low cost,and environmental friendliness.Ammonium ion(NH_(4)^(+))is an ideal charge carrier for such batteries because of its small hydration radius and low molar mass.In this study,VO_(2)·xH_(2)O with rich oxygen defects(d-HVO)is designed and synthesized,and it exhibits unique nanoarray structure and good electrochemical performances for NH_(4)^(+)storge.Experimental and calculation results indicate that oxygen defects in d-HVO can enhance the conductivity and diffusion rate of NH_(4)^(+),leading to improved electrochemical performances.The most significant improvement is observed in d-HVO with 2 mmol thiourea(d-HVO-2)(220 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.1 A·g^(-1)),which has a moderate defect content.A full cell is assembled using d-HVO-2 as the anode and polyaniline(PANI)as the cathode,which shows excellent cycling stability with a capacity retention rate of 80%after 1000 cycles and outstanding power density up to 4540 W·kg^(-1).Moreover,the flexible d-HVO-2||PANI battery,based on quasi-solid electrolyte,shows excellent flexibility under different bending conditions.This study provides a new approach for designing and developing high-performance NH_(4)^(+)storage electrode materials. 展开更多

选取两种不同粒径分布的天然海砂样品,在相同实验温度及压力条件下合成甲烷水合物.开展水合物降压分解X-CT微观实验,获取不同时刻的沉积物内部构成图像.对X-CT扫描图像进行阈值分割、三维重建及拓扑等效等处理,建立不同粒径含水合物沉... 选取两种不同粒径分布的天然海砂样品,在相同实验温度及压力条件下合成甲烷水合物.开展水合物降压分解X-CT微观实验,获取不同时刻的沉积物内部构成图像.对X-CT扫描图像进行阈值分割、三维重建及拓扑等效等处理,建立不同粒径含水合物沉积介质不同分解阶段的三维孔隙网络模型,研究水合物降压分解过程中沉积物孔隙结构动态演化规律及其控制机理.研究表明,甲烷水合物微观分布非均质特征显著,分解过程开始于气-水合物接触的位置,分解初期水合物具有孔隙填充、颗粒胶结等多种赋存模式,而分解后期孔隙中主要赋存颗粒胶结型水合物.随着水合物饱和度的减小,不同粒径含水合物沉积物的平均孔喉半径、孔隙度、绝对渗透率以及两相共渗区宽度均不断增大,配位数、形状因子及束缚水饱和度逐渐减小.受水合物分解动力学行为影响,分解前期沉积物平均孔隙半径缓慢降低,水合物饱和度下降至某一临界值(小于0.1)后,平均孔隙半径和绝对渗透率急剧增大.粒径分布越窄,相同水合物饱和度下沉积物平均孔隙及孔喉半径、孔隙度和绝对渗透率越高,但不同粒径沉积介质配位数和形状因子的变化存在交叉点,表明含水合物沉积物微观孔隙结构特征受粒径分布、水合物微观赋存状态及空间分布的协同影响. 展开更多

目的:应用Cirrus HD OCT观察成年人黄斑区视网膜神经节细胞内丛状层(mGCIPL)厚度的分布规律,探讨mGCIPL随着眼轴长度改变的变化规律。方法:系列病例研究。选取2017年9月至2018年4月就诊于北京大学人民医院眼科门诊的患者170例(276眼),采... 目的:应用Cirrus HD OCT观察成年人黄斑区视网膜神经节细胞内丛状层(mGCIPL)厚度的分布规律,探讨mGCIPL随着眼轴长度改变的变化规律。方法:系列病例研究。选取2017年9月至2018年4月就诊于北京大学人民医院眼科门诊的患者170例(276眼),采用IOLMaster测量眼轴长度,CirrusHD OCT测量mGCIPL厚度,得到平均,6个扇形区域(颞上、上方、鼻上、颞下、下方、鼻下),最小mGCIPL厚度共8个参数。研究mGCIPL厚度的分布规律,采用Spearman进行mGCIPL厚度与眼轴长度的相关性分析,应用广义估计方程进行mGCIPL厚度的多因素分析。结果:该276只眼的6个扇形区域中鼻上mGCIPL厚度最大,为83.5(78.0,89.0)μm,下方mGCIPL厚度最小,为79.0(73.0,84.0)μm,分布规律为鼻上>上方>颞上≈颞下≈鼻下>下方。8个参数均与眼轴长度呈负相关(r=-0.504^-0.395,P<0.001)。8个参数除了受眼轴长度(β=-3.201,P<0.001)影响外,还受年龄(β=-0.185,P<0.001)影响。结论:mGCIPL厚度分布规律为鼻上>上方>颞上≈颞下≈鼻下>下方。mGCIPL厚度与眼轴长度呈负相关。因此在应用mGCIPL厚度进行青光眼诊断时应考虑眼轴长度的影响,尤其在高度近视人群更应排除其干扰。 展开更多

【目的】探究和证实黑曲霉钠钾ATP酶(NKA)在硅灰石风化过程中的作用。【方法】以野生型黑曲霉(WT)为原始菌株构建黑曲霉Na,K-ATPaseα1基因(NKAα1)高表达菌株oeNKA。通过测定不同时间点(0d、2d、4d、6d)oeNKA和WT生物量、培养液pH值和... 【目的】探究和证实黑曲霉钠钾ATP酶(NKA)在硅灰石风化过程中的作用。【方法】以野生型黑曲霉(WT)为原始菌株构建黑曲霉Na,K-ATPaseα1基因(NKAα1)高表达菌株oeNKA。通过测定不同时间点(0d、2d、4d、6d)oeNKA和WT生物量、培养液pH值和矿物风化释放的Ca2+浓度,并用X-ray diffraction (XRD)对风化后的矿物残渣进行检测,比较oeNKA和WT菌株对硅灰石这种硅酸盐矿物的风化效果。【结果】oeNKA菌株的NKAα1基因相对表达量和酶活分别为WT菌株的103倍和1.76倍。在持续6d的培养过程中,oeNKA与WT的菌丝体生物量变化趋势相同,在培养第2天时WT显著高于oeNKA,随时间差异逐渐缩小并在第6天达到最低;培养液pH值变化趋势相同,分别下降至3.64和3.87;oeNKA风化硅灰石时所释放Ca^2+浓度(1011.36±47.78μg/g)约为WT (248.30±25.21μg/g)的4倍;XRD检测图谱显示菌株oeNKA对硅灰石风化作用更明显。【结论】NKAα1过表达菌株oeNKA对硅灰石的风化能力显著高于WT菌株,且黑曲霉的NKA与硅灰石的风化有密切关联。 展开更多
