Reconstruction of anterior skull base defects using frontalis muscle galea aponeurotica skull pedicle flaps

Objective: The aim of our study was to reconstruct soft and hard tissue perforating defects of the anterior skull base in a 1-stage surgical procedure with a combined craniofacial approach. Methods: Soft and hard tissue defects of the anterior skull base were successfully reconstructed in 43 patients during a 1-stage surgery through the use of frontalis muscle galea aponeuretica skull flaps with 1 or 2 vascularized pedicles. The skull flap areas were up approximately 7 cmx 14 cm. Results: Intracranial infection and cerebrospinal fluid leakage were not observed in the 43 patients, and all incisions healed. Of 33 malignant tumor patients, 25 patients received follow-up examinations for longer than 2 years, and 18 patients survived for 2 years. Conclusion: Frontalis muscle galea aponeurotica skull pedicle flaps provided a constant blood supply and re- suited in soft and thin tissue. The pedicle flaps, together with the external cranial bone plate, strengthened the support, but still allowed for bending and shaping. In addition, the flap harvesting approach was consistent with surgery approach, without aesthetic compromises. 展开更多

Using the gravity/GNSS data of 318 stations observed in 2020,this paper optimizes the Bouguer and free-air gravity anomalies around the 2021 Yangbi Ms 6.4 Earthquake,inverses the lithospheric density structure of the focal area,and obtains the distribution of isostatic additional force borne by the lithosphere.The results show that the Bouguer gravity anomaly in western Yunnan varies from-120 to-360 m Gal.As a whole the anomalies are large in the north and small in the south,and the value in the source area of the 2021 Yangbi Ms 6.4 Earthquake is about-260 m Gal.Significant lateral differences indicates that the crust around the great earthquake does not belong to a solid and stable tectonic unit.The lithosphere in the source area is basically in equilibrium,indicating that the occurrence of the great event is not relative to the lithospheric equilibrium,but to the differential movement of the crust in the horizontal direction.In addition,we obtain the teleseismic SKS phases of 51 stations.As a whole,the polarization direction of fast wave in western Yunnan is approximately vertical to the maximum gradient change direction of regional Bouguer gravity anomaly that reflects the change of Moho. 展开更多

In this work,Raman spectra and dielectricity-temperature dependence measurements were used to investigate the B-site order degree in CuO-doped Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)-PbTiO_(3)ferroelectric ceramics.The measurement results indicated a typical relaxor characteristic for all samples.With the increasing of CuO doping content,the B-site order degree increased first and then decreased.However,the frequency dispersion and the relaxation degree decreased first and then increased while the CuO addition content was increasing,which was thought to be strongly correlated with the variations of the B-site order.The opposite variation tendency of the B-site order degree and the relaxation degree revealed that the phase transition dispersity is closely related to the order-disorder behaviors. 展开更多

In this Letter, we study the molecular alignment and orientation driven by two elliptically polarized laser pulses.It is shown that the field-free molecular alignment can be achieved in a three-dimensional(3D) case, while the field-free molecular orientation is only along the x and y directions, and that the field-free alignment and orientation along different axes are related to the populations of the rotational states. It is demonstrated that changing the elliptic parameter is efficient for controlling both in-pulse and post-pulse molecular alignment and orientation. The delay time also has an influence on the field-free molecular alignment and orientation. 展开更多
