The molecular weights of Pacific herring, chum salmon, pond smelt, glassfish, and Alaska pollock egg protease inhibitors were 120, 89, 84.5, 17, and 16.8kDa, respectively. The specific inhibitory activity of glassfish egg protease inhibitor was the highest followed by those of Pacific herring and Alaska pollock in order. The specific inhibitory activity and purity of glassfish egg protease inhibitor were 19.70 U mg^- 1 protein and 164.70 folds of purification, respectively. Glassfish egg protease inhibitor was reasonably stable at 50 - 65℃ and pH 8, which was more stable at high temperature and pH than protease inhibitors from the other fish species. The effective surface treatment method for steel insert composited with Al base metal by expendable pattern casting (EPC) process and the bonding interface between steel insert and Al base metal were investigated.It...The effective surface treatment method for steel insert composited with Al base metal by expendable pattern casting (EPC) process and the bonding interface between steel insert and Al base metal were investigated.It was found that Zn plating on steel insert was effective on improving the bonding property between steel insert and Al base metal in EPC process.Zn is thought to promote the formation of diffusion layer.But almost none content of Zn was observed in the boundary which had been plated on the steel insert.A diffusion layer consisting of Al,Si and Fe was formed at the insert/alloy interface and its hardness was higher than the steel insert as matter of course Al base metal.This layer turned out to be intermetallic compounds of Al-Si-Fe system.Higher pouring temperature promoted the diffusion of Fe into Al alloy,so Fe content in intermetallic layers increased at higher pouring temperature.The layer nearest to steel disappeared due to applied pressure.展开更多

The surface of the cone is sub...A numerical study is performed to examine the heat transfer characteristics of natural convection past a vertical cone under the combined effects of magnetic field and thermal radiation. The surface of the cone is subjected to a variable surface heat flux. The fluid considered is a gray, absorbing-emitting radiation but a non-scattering medium. With approximate transformations, the boundary layer equations governing the flow are reduced to non-dimensional equations valid in the free convection regime. The dimensionless governing equations are solved by an implicit finite difference method of Crank-Nicolson type which is fast convergent, accurate, and unconditionally stable. Numerical results are obtained and presented for velocity, temperature, local and average wall shear stress, and local and average Nusselt number in air and water. The present results axe compared with the previous published work and are found to be in excellent agreement.展开更多

The annealed Ro.94_xEuo.06ZnxV...We synthesized the rare-earth activated Ro.94_xEuo.06ZnxVO4 (R: Gd and Y; 0〈_x〈_0.08) phosphors with a spherical mor- phology and a smooth surface by the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. The annealed Ro.94_xEuo.06ZnxVO4 crystallized in the tetragonal zircon type structure, belonging to the space group of I41/amd. The incorporation of a small amount of Zn to Ro.94Euo.06VO4 improved the emission characteristics. The emission intensities of the Gdo.88EUo.06Zno.06VO4 and Yo.9Euo.06Zno.04VO4 phosphors at 619 nm were 72% and 2 1% stronger than those of the Gdo,94Euo.06VO4 and Yo.94Euo.06VO4 phosphors, respectively. We demonstrated that the addi- tion of Zn to Ro.94Euo.06VO4 was quite effective for improving the photoluminescent properties.展开更多
