In this paper, an analytical method based on the Dirac operator to solve the nonlinear and non-homogeneous boundary value problem of rectangular plates is proposed. The key concept behind this method is to transform the nonlinear or non-homogeneous part on the boundary into a lateral force within the governing function by the Dirac operator, which linearizes and homogenizes the original boundary, allowing one to employ the modal superposition method for obtaining solutions to reconstructive governing equations. Once projected into the modal space, the harmonic balance method(HBM) is utilized to solve coupled ordinary differential equations(ODEs)of truncated systems with nonlinearity. To validate the convergence and accuracy of the proposed Dirac method, the results of typical examples, involving nonlinearly restricted boundaries, moment excitation, and displacement excitation, are compared with those of the differential quadrature element method(DQEM). The results demonstrate that when dealing with nonlinear boundaries, the Dirac method exhibits more excellent accuracy and convergence compared with the DQEM. However, when facing displacement excitation, there exist some discrepancies between the proposed approach and simulations;nevertheless, the proposed method still accurately predicts resonant frequencies while being uniquely capable of handling nonuniform displacement excitations. Overall, this methodology offers a convenient way for addressing nonlinear and non-homogenous plate boundaries.展开更多

The X-structure is used as a mechanism to realize the nonlinear stiffness characteristic of the NES, which can realize the flexibility, adjustability, high efficiency, and easy operation of nonlinear stiffness, and is convenient to apply in the vehicle suspension, and the inerter is applied to replacing the mass of the NES based on the mass amplification characteristic. The dynamic model of the half-vehicle system coupled with the IX-NES is established with the Lagrange theory, and the harmonic balance method(HBM) and the pseudo-arc-length method(PALM) are used to obtain the dynamic response under road harmonic excitation. The corresponding dynamic performance under road harmonic and random excitation is evaluated by six performance indices, and compared with that of the original half-vehicle system to show the benefits of the IX-NES. Furthermore, the structural parameters of the IX-NES are optimized with the genetic algorithm. The results show that for road harmonic and random excitation, using the IX-NES can greatly reduce the resonance peaks and root mean square(RMS) values of the front and rear suspension deflections and the front and rear dynamic tire loads, while the resonance peaks and RMS values of the vehicle body vertical and pitching accelerations are slightly larger. When the structural parameters of the IX-NES are optimized, the vehicle body vertical and pitching accelerations of the half-vehicle system could reduce by 2.41% and 1.16%,respectively, and the other dynamic performance indices are within the reasonable ranges. Thus, the IX-NES combines the advantages of the inerter, X-structure, and NES, which improves the dynamic performance of the half-vehicle system and provides an effective option for vibration attenuation in the vehicle engineering.展开更多

We investigated the clinical features and outcomes of patients based on ANCA serotype classification. Methods: Clinical and laboratory data were collected retrospectively. We compared clinical manifestations and organ involvement based on serotype. The risk factors for death and renal survival were investigated with univariate and multivariate Cox regression models. Results: Patients with MPO-ANCA were predominant, whose median age and lung involvement at diagnosis was higher than that of the PR3-ANCA patients. Compared to the AAV patients without renal involvement, those with renal involvement have older, anemia, low complement C3, and hypoproteinemia, more likely to have cardiovascular and abdominal involvement, and have less lung involvement. Multivariate Cox analysis revealed that age ≥ 65 years (HR = 2.611, p p = 0.019), BVAS ≥ 15 (HR = 1.943, p = 0.001), low C3 (HR = 1.696, p = 0.008), and hypoproteinemia (HR = 1.438, p = 0.044) were associated with mortality. SCR ≥ 500 μmol/L (HR = 13.583, p p = 0.020), low C3 (HR = 1.506, p = 0.049) were independent detrimental factors for renal survival, and immunosuppressive treatment was a protective factor for renal survival (HR = 0.523, p = 0.003). Conclusions: Clinical manifestations varied by AAV categories. Age, SCR, BVAS, low C3 and hypoproteinemia at diagnosis were independent predictors of mortality. BVAS, low C3, SCR at diagnosis and immunosuppressive treatment were independently related to renal survival in ANCA positive patients.展开更多

The goal of this paper is to clarify the difference when the impact damper suppresses the resonances of different modes. A cantilever beam equipped with the impact damper is modeled. The elastic contact of the ball and the cantilever beam is described by using the Hertz contact model. The viscous damper between the ball and the cantilever beam is modeled to consume the vibrational energy of the cantilever beam. A piecewise ordinary differential-partial differential equation of the cantilever beam is established, including equations with and without the impact damper. The vibration responses of the cantilever beam with and without the impact damper are numerically calculated. The effects of the impact absorber parameters on the vibration reduction are examined. The results show that multiple resonance peaks of the cantilever beam can be effectively suppressed by the impact damper. Specifically, all resonance amplitudes can be reduced by a larger weight ball. Moreover, the impacting gap is very effective in suppressing the vibration of the cantilever beam. More importantly, there is an optimal impacting gap for each resonance mode of the cantilever beam, but the optimal gap for each mode is different.展开更多

The system consists of a piezoelectric device and a nonlinear energy sink (NES), which is a nonlinear oscillator without linear stiffness. The NES-piezoelectric sys- tem is attached to a 2-degree-of-freedom primary system subjected to a shock load. This mechanical-piezoelectric system is investigated based on the concepts of the percentages of energy transition and energy transition measure. The strong target energy transfer occurs for some certain transient excitation amplitude and NES nonlinear stiffness. The plots of wavelet transforms are used to indicate that the nonlinear beats initiate energy transitions between the NES-piezoelectric system and the primary system in the tran- sient vibration, and a 1:1 transient resonance capture occurs between two subsystems. The investigation demonstrates that the integrated NES-piezoelectric mechanism can re- duce vibration and harvest some vibration energy.展开更多

The parametric excitation is caused by the harmonic fluctuations of the axial moving speed. An integro-partial-differential equation governing the transverse vibration of the Timoshenko beam is established. Many factors are considered, such as viscoelasticity, the finite axial support rigidity, and the longitudinally varying tension due to the axial acceleration. With the Galerkin truncation method, a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations are derived by discretizing the governing equation. Based on the numerical solutions, the bifurcation diagrams are presented to study the effect of the external transverse excitation. Moreover, the frequencies of the two excitations are assumed to be multiple. Further, five different tools, including the time history, the Poincaré map, and the sensitivity to initial conditions, are used to identify the motion form of the nonlinear vibration. Numerical results also show the characteristics of the quasiperiodic motion of the translating Timoshenko beam under an incommensurable re- lationship between the dual-frequency excitations.展开更多

文摘In most practical engineering applications, the translating belt wraps around two fixed wheels. The boundary conditions of the dynamic model are typically specified as simply supported or fixed boundaries. In this paper,non-homogeneous boundaries are introduced by the support wheels.Utilizing the translating belt as the mechanical prototype, the vibration characteristics of translating Timoshenko beam models with nonhomogeneous boundaries are investigated for the first time. The governing equations of Timoshenko beam are deduced by employing the generalized Hamilton's principle. The effects of parameters such as the radius of wheel and the length of belt on vibration characteristics including the equilibrium deformations, critical velocities, natural frequencies, and modes, are numerically calculated and analyzed. The numerical results indicate that the beam experiences deformation characterized by varying curvatures near the wheels. The radii of the wheels play a pivotal role in determining the change in trend of the relative difference between two beam models.Comparing the results unearths that the relative difference in equilibrium deformations between the two beam models is more pronounced with smaller-sized wheels. When the two wheels are of equal size, the critical velocities of both beam models reach their respective minima. In addition, the relative difference in natural frequencies between the two beam models exhibits nonlinear variation and can easily exceed 50%.Furthermore,as the axial velocities increase, the impact of non-homogeneous boundaries on modal shape of translating beam becomes more significant.Although dealing with non-homogeneous boundaries is challenging, beam models with non-homogeneous boundaries are more sensitive to parameters, and the differences between the two types of beams undergo some interesting variations under the influence of non-homogeneous boundaries.

文摘Based on the generalized Hamilton's principle, the nonlinear governing equation of an axially functionally graded(AFG)pipe is established. The non-trivial equilibrium configuration is superposed by the modal functions of a simply supported beam.Via the direct multi-scale method, the response and stability boundary to the pulsating fluid velocity are solved analytically and verified by the differential quadrature element method(DQEM).The influence of Young's modulus gradient on the parametric resonance is investigated in the subcritical and supercritical regions. In general, the pipe in the supercritical region is more sensitive to the pulsating excitation. The nonlinearity changes from hard to soft, and the non-trivial equilibrium configuration introduces more frequency components to the vibration.Besides, the increasing Young's modulus gradient improves the critical pulsating flow velocity of the parametric resonance, and further enhances the stability of the system. In addition, when the temperature increases along the axial direction, reducing the gradient parameter can enhance the response asymmetry. This work further complements the theoretical analysis of pipes conveying pulsating fluid.

文摘Locally resonant metamaterials have low-frequency band gaps and the capability of converging vibratory energy in the band gaps at resonant cells. It has been demonstrated by several researchers that the dissipatioin of vibratory energy within the band gap can be improved by using viscoelastic materials. This paper designs an integrated viscoelastic metamaterial for energy harvesting and vibration isolation. The viscoelastic metamaterial is achieved by a viscoelastic beam periodically arrayed with spatial ball-pendulum nonlinear energy harvesters. The nonlinear resonator with an energy harvesting function is achieved by placing a free-rolling magnetic ball in a spherical cavity with an additional induction coil. The dynamic equations of viscoelastic metamaterials under transverse excitation are established, and the energy harvesting and vibration isolation characteristics within the dispersion relation of viscoelastic metamaterials are analyzed. The results show that the vibrations of the main body of the viscoelastic metamaterial beam are significantly suppressed in the frequency range of the local resonance band gap.At the same time, the elastic waves are limited in the nonlinear resonator with an energy harvesting function, which improves the energy output. Finally,an experimental platform of viscoelastic metamaterial vibration is established for validation purposes.

文摘In this study,a coupling model of fluid-conveying pipes made of functionally graded materials(FGMs)with NiTiNOL-steel(NiTi-ST)for vibration absorption is investigated. The vibration responses of the FGM fluid-conveying pipe with NiTi-ST are studied by the Galerkin truncation method(GTM)and harmonic balance method(HBM).The harmonic balance solutions and the numerical results are consistent. Also, the linearized stability of the structure is determined. The effects of the structure parameters on the absorption performance are also studied. The results show that the NiTi-ST is an effective means of vibration absorption.Furthermore,in studying the effect of the NiTi-ST,a closed detached response(CDR)is first observed. It is noteworthy that the CDR may dramatically change the vibration amplitude and that the parameters of the NiTi-ST may determine the emergence or disappearance of the CDR.This vibration absorption device can be extended to offer more general vibration control in engineering applications.

文摘The influence of weights is usually ignored in the study of nonlinear vibrations of plates. In this paper, the effect of structure weights on the nonlinear vibration of a composite circular plate with a rigid body is presented. The nonlinear governing equations are derived from the generalized Hamilton's principle and the von Kármán plate theory. The equilibrium configurations due to weights are determined and validated by the finite element method(FEM).A nonlinear model for the vibration around the equilibrium configuration is established. Moreover, the natural frequencies and amplitude-frequency responses of harmonically forced vibrations are calculated. The study shows that the structure weights introduce additional linear and quadratic nonlinear terms into the dynamical model. This leads to interesting phenomena. For example, considering weights increases the natural frequency.Furthermore, when the influence of weights is considered, the vibration response of the plate becomes asymmetrical.

文摘Although most pipes are restrained by retaining clips in aircraft, the influence of the clip parameters on the vibration of the fluid-conveying pipe has not been revealed.By considering the clip width,a new dynamic model of a fluid-conveying pipe restrained by an intermediate clip is established in this paper. To demonstrate the necessity of the proposed model,a half pipe model is established by modeling the clip as one end.By comparing the two models,it is found that the half pipe model overestimates the critical velocity and may estimate the dynamical behavior of the pipe incorrectly. In addition, with the increase in the clip stiffness, the conversion processes of the first two modes of the pipe are shown.Furthermore,by ignoring the width of the clip, the effect of the flow velocity on the accuracy of a concentrated restraint clip model is presented. When the flow velocity is close to the critical velocity, the accuracy of the concentrated restraint clip model significantly reduces, especially when the width of the clip is large. In general, the contribution of this paper is to establish a dynamic model of the fluid-conveying pipe which can describe the influence of the clip parameters, and to demonstrate the necessity of this model.

文摘A two-degree-of-freedom(2DOF)vibration isolation structure with an integrated geometric nonlinear inerter(NI)device is proposed. The device is integrated into an inertial nonlinear energy sink(INES),and its vibration suppression performance is examined by the Runge-Kutta(RK)method and verified by the harmonic balance method(HBM).The new isolator is compared with a traditional vibration isolator. The results show a significant improvement in the vibration suppression performance. To investigate the effects of the excitation amplitude and initial condition on the dynamics of the system,a series of transmissibility-frequency response analyses are performed based on the displacement transmissibility. The energy flow of the system is analyzed, and numerous calculations reveal a series of ideal values for the energy sink in the NI-INES system. This study provides new insights for the design of vibration isolators.
文摘Objective: According to clinical phenotypic classification, there is a significant overlap of clinical features between different anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) associated vasculitis (AAV), and disease classification based on ANCA subtype helps to differentiate clinical phenotypes. BVAS, low C3, SCR at diagnosis and immunosuppressive treatment were independently related to renal survival in ANCA positive patients.

文摘Impact dampers are usually used to suppress single mode resonance. More importantly, there is an optimal impacting gap for each resonance mode of the cantilever beam, but the optimal gap for each mode is different.

文摘A novel vibration isolation device called the nonlinear energy sink(NES)with NiTiNOL-steel wire ropes(NiTi-ST)is applied to a whole-spacecraft system. The NiTi-ST is used to describe the damping of the NES,which is coupled with the modified Bouc-Wen model of hysteresis. The NES with NiTi-ST vibration reduction principle uses the irreversibility of targeted energy transfer(TET)to concentrate the energy locally on the nonlinear oscillator, and then dissipates it through damping in the NES with NiTi-ST.The generalized vibration transmissibility, obtained by the root mean square treatment of the harmonic response of the nonlinear output frequency response functions(NOFRFs),is first used as the evaluation index to analyze the whole-spacecraft system in the future. An optimization analysis of the impact of system responses is performed using different parameters of NES with NiTi-ST based on the transmissibility of NOFRFs.Finally, the effects of vibration suppression by varying the parameters of NiTi-ST are analyzed from the perspective of energy absorption. The results indicate that NES with NiTi-ST can reduce excessive vibration of the whole-spacecraft system, without changing its natural frequency. Moreover, the NES with NiTi-ST can be directly used in practical engineering applications.

文摘A mechanical-piezoelectric system is explored to reduce vibration and to harvest energy. The investigation demonstrates that the integrated NES-piezoelectric mechanism can re- duce vibration and harvest some vibration energy.

文摘This investigation focuses on the nonlinear dynamic behaviors in the trans- verse vibration of an axiMly accelerating viscoelastic Timoshenko beam with the external harmonic excitation. Numerical results also show the characteristics of the quasiperiodic motion of the translating Timoshenko beam under an incommensurable re- lationship between the dual-frequency excitations.

文摘The nonlinear behaviors and vibration reduction of a linear system with a nonlinear energy sink(NES)are investigated. The linear system is excited by a harmonic and random base excitation, consisting of a mass block,a linear spring, and a linear viscous damper. The NES is composed of a mass block,a linear viscous damper, and a spring with ideal cubic nonlinear stiffness.Based on the generalized harmonic function method, the steady-state Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov equation is presented to reveal the response of the system. The path integral method based on the Gauss-Legendre polynomial is used to achieve the numerical solutions. The performance of vibration reduction is evaluated by the displacement and velocity transition probability densities, the transmissibility transition probability density, and the percentage of the energy absorption transition probability density of the linear oscillator. The sensitivity of the parameters is analyzed for varying the nonlinear stiffness coefficient and the damper ratio. The investigation illustrates that a linear system with NES can also realize great vibration reduction under harmonic and random base excitations and random bifurcation may appear under different parameters, which will affect the stability of the system.
