Design and Evaluation of CRDMAC: Circular RTR Directional MAC Protocol for WANETs

Using directional antennas in Wireless Ad hoc Networks (WANETs) offers great potential of reducing the radio interference, and improving the communication throughput. Directional antennas, however, introduces new problems in the wireless Media Access Control (MAC), that is, the deafness and new hidden terminal problem, which may cause severe performance degradation. To solve the problems, we propose an effective Circular RTR Directional MAC (CRDMAC) protocol for WANETs by using a sub-transmission channel and Ready to Receive (RTR) packets, which modifies the IEEE 802.11 Distributed Coordinated Function (DCF). The sub-channel avoids collisions to other ongoing transmission, and the RTR packets notify the neighbor nodes that the mutual transmission has been finished. We evaluate the CRDMAC protocol through simulations and the results show that the proposed protocol outperforms existing DMAC (directional MAC) protocol and the CRCM (Circular RTS and CTS MAC) protocol in terms of throughput and packet drop rate. 展开更多

Background:Elevated levels of circulating endothelial cells might reflect significant vascular damage and dysfunction.Recent studies have shown that circulating endothelial cells levels are related to therapeutic responses of tumors,and thus,could be used as an indicator to predict the efficacy of tumor treatments.The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation and impact of endothelial cells with and on the efficacy of first-line therapy(platinum-based or tyrosine kinase inhibitor drugs treatments)for advanced non-small-cell lung cancer.Methods:We analyzed 45 inpatients who met the inclusion criteria of diagnosis with inoperable non-small-cell lung cancer stages III and IV,in the People’s Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from January 2019 to January 2020.The flow cytometry technique was adopted to detect pretreatment levels of circulating endothelial cells in peripheral blood of patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer.The pretreatment peripheral blood was collected to analyze the relations of circulating endothelial cells with different clinical characteristics and efficacy.Results:The level of pretreatment circulating endothelial cells was significantly correlated with the efficacy of treatment(P<0.05)but irrelevant to the patient’s physical conditions,pathological type,tumor stage,and pretreatment serum carcinoembryonic antigen(P>0.05).The comparison between the groups of response(complete response+partial response)and nonresponse(stable disease+progressive disease)showed a significant difference in circulating endothelial cells count.Compared with low levels of circulating endothelial cells,a high level of circulating endothelial cells led to a poor efficacy(P<0.05).Conclusion:The level of pretreatment circulating endothelial cells significantly correlated with the efficiency of first-line therapy for non-small-cell lung cancer.Compared with low level of circulating endothelial cells,high level of circulating endothelial cells lead to poor efficacy.Therefore,circulating endothelial cell is indeed an effective indicator for predicting the efficacy of first-line therapy for advanced non-small-cell lung cancer. 展开更多

The poly(epoxy-N-methylaniline)conductive organic carrier was used as the bonding phase of the low-temperature conductive silver paste.Then,this was mixed with different proportions of silver powder to prepare the low-temperature conductive silver paste.Afterwards,the effect of the conductive organic carrier on the properties of the low-temperature conductive silver paste was determined by IR,DMA and SEM.The results revealed that the prepared conductive paste has good conductivity,film-forming performance,printing performance,low-temperature curing performance,and anti-aging performance.When the mass percentage of the bonding phase/conductive phase was 40/60,the lowest volume resistivity of the conductive silver paste was 4.9×10^(−6)Ω⋅cm,and the conductivity was the best. 展开更多

Background:Intestinal barrier plays key roles in maintaining intestinal homeostasis.Inflammation damage can severely destroy the intestinal integrity of mammals.This study was conducted to investigate the protective effects of embelin and its molecular mechanisms on intestinal inflammation in a porcine model.One hundred sixty 21-day-old castrated weaned pigs(Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire,average initial body weight was 7.05 d to four groups and fed with a basal diet o±0.28 kg,equal numbers of castrated males and females)were allotter a basal diet containing 200,400,or 600 mg embelin/kg for 28 d.The growth performance,intestinal inflammatory cytokines,morphology of jejunum and ileum,tight junctions in the intestinal mucosa of piglets were tested.IPEC-1 cells with overexpression of P300/CBP associating factor(PCAF)were treated with embelin,the activity of PCAF and acetylation of nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)were analyzed to determine the effect of embelin on PCAF/NF-κB pathway in vitro.Results:The results showed that embelin decreased(P<0.05)serum D-lactate and diamine oxidase(DAO)levels,and enhanced the expression of ZO-1,occludin and claudin-1 protein in jejunum and ileum.Moreover,the expression levels of critical inflammation molecules(interleukin-1β,interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-α,and NF-κB)were downregulated(P<0.05)by embelin in jejunal and ileal mucosa.Meanwhile,the activity of PCAF were down-regulated(P<0.05)by embelin.Importantly,transfection of PCAF siRNAs to IPEC-1 cell decreased NF-κB activities;embelin treatment downregulated(P<0.05)the acetylation and activities of NF-κB by 31.7%-74.6%in IPEC-1 cells with overexpression of PCAF.Conclusions:These results suggested that embelin ameliorates intestinal inflammation in weaned pigs,which might be mediated by suppressing the PCAF/NF-κB signaling pathway. 展开更多

Acute liver injury(ALI)has an elevated fatality rate due to untimely and ineffective treatment.Although,schisandrin B(SchB)has been extensively used to treat diverse liver diseases,its therapeutic efficacy on ALI was limited due to its high hydrophobicity.Palmitic acid-modified serum albumin(PSA)is not only an effective carrier for hydrophobic drugs,but also has a superb targeting effect via scavenger receptor-A(SR-A)on the M1 macrophages,which are potential therapeutic targets for ALI.Compared with the common macrophage-targeted delivery systems,PSA enables site-specific drug delivery to reduce off-target toxicity.Herein,we prepared SchB-PSA nanoparticles and further assessed their therapeutic effect on ALI.In vitro,compared with human serum albumin encapsulated SchB nanoparticles(SchB-HSA NPs),the SchB-PSA NPs exhibited more potent cytotoxicity on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)stimulated Raw264.7(LAR)cells,and LAR cells took up PSA NPs 8.79 times more than HSA NPs.As expected,the PSA NPs also accumulated more in the liver.Moreover,SchB-PSA NPs dramatically reduced the activation of NF-κB signaling,and significantly relieved inflammatory response and hepatic necrosis.Notably,the high dose of SchB-PSA NPs improved the survival rate in 72 h of ALI mice to 75%.Hence,SchB-PSA NPs are promising to treat ALI. 展开更多

Pathological scarring and scleroderma,which are the most common conditions of skin fibrosis,pathologically manifest as fibroblast proliferation and extracellular matrix(ECM)hyperplasia.Fibroblast proliferation and ECM hyperplasia lead to fibrotic tissue remodeling,causing an exaggerated and prolonged wound-healing response.The pathogenesis of these diseases has not been fully clarified and is unfortunately accompanied by exceptionally high medical needs and poor treatment effects.Currently,a promising and relatively low-cost treatment has emerged-adipose-derived stem cell(ASC)therapy as a branch of stem cell therapy,including ASCs and their derivatives-purified ASC,stromal vascular fraction,ASC-conditioned medium,ASC exosomes,etc.,which are rich in sources and easy to obtain.ASCs have been widely used in therapeutic settings for patients,primarily for the defection of soft tissues,such as breast enhancement and facial contouring.In the field of skin regeneration,ASC therapy has become a hot research topic because it is beneficial for reversing skin fibrosis.The ability of ASCs to control profibrotic factors as well as anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory actions will be discussed in this review,as well as their new applications in the treatment of skin fibrosis.Although the long-term effect of ASC therapy is still unclear,ASCs have emerged as one of the most promising systemic antifibrotic therapies under development. 展开更多

We demonstrate that the combinations of these harmonic mappings are convex in the vertical direction provided they are locally univalent and sense-preserving. Furthermore, we extend this analysis to a more general case by setting specific conditions. Additionally, we take some common parameters such as  as the dilatation of these harmonic mappings, and prove the sufficient conditions that their combinations are locally univalent and convex in the vertical direction. Previous studies have shown that Lycium barbarum polysaccharide,the main active component of Lycium barbarum,exhibits antiinflammatory and antioxidant effects in treating neurological diseases.However,the therapeutic action of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide on depression has not been studied.In this investigation,we established mouse models of depression using aversive stimuli including exposure to fox urine,air puff and foot shock and physical restraint.Concurrently,we administered 5 mg/kg per day Lycium barbarum polysaccharide-glycoprotein to each mouse intragastrically for the 28 days.Our results showed that long-term exposure to aversive stimuli significantly enhanced depressive-like behavior evaluated by the sucrose preference test and the forced swimming test and increased anxietylike behaviors evaluated using the open field test.In addition,aversive stimuli-induced depressed mice exhibited aberrant neuronal activity in the lateral habenula.Importantly,concurrent Lycium barbarum polysaccharide-glycoprotein treatment significantly reduced these changes.These findings suggest that Lycium barbarum polysaccharide-glycoprotein is a potential preventative intervention for depression and may act by preventing aberrant neuronal activity and microglial activation in the lateral habenula.The study was approved by the Jinan University Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee(approval No.20170301003)on March 1,2017. 展开更多

Objective:Ascites in patients with hepatic cirrhosis is caused by cirrhosis in most cases.For most malignant ascites,the primary malignancy could be readily identified using conventional imaging methods,e.g.,computer tomography(CT)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).However,in a small fraction of the patients,the primary malignancy remains occult even with these examinations.In this retrospective study,we assessed the usefulness of18F-FDG PET/CT in patients with hepatic cirrhosis and malignant ascites of otherwise unknown origin.Methods:Twenty-eight patients with malignant ascites of unknown primary sites after CT,MRI and ultrasound during the period of five years between January 2008 and December 2012 had received18F-FDG PET/CT.Medical records of these patients were reviewed and analyzed.Results:Elevated18F-FDG absorption was found in 23 of 28 cases in the following sites:gastrointestinal tract(n=10,43.5%),prostate(n=5,21.7%),peritoneum(n=4,13.3%),and ovary(n=4,13.3%).Cancer was confirmed by pathology in 20 cases after open or laparoscopic surgeries.Five patients were found to have benign ascites,among which,3 were found to be false positive due to tuberculosis.SUV values were significantly higher for tumors than for benign lesions(mean values,6.95 vs.2.94;P=0.005).Conclusions:The18F-FDG PET/CT can be as a powerful imaging tool in identifying tissue origin in liver cirrhosis patients suspected of cancers or with cancers of unknown primary sites. 展开更多

Corydalis yanhusuo W.T.Wang is a classic herb that is frequently used in traditional Chinese medicine and is efficacious in promoting blood circulation,enhancing energy,and relieving pain.Benzylisoquinoline alkaloids(BIAs)are the main bioactive ingredients in Corydalis yanhusuo.However,few studies have investigated the BIA biosynthetic pathway in C.yanhusuo,and the biosynthetic pathway of species-specific chemicals such as tetrahydropalmatine remains unclear.We performed full-length transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses to identify candidate genes that might be involved in BIA biosynthesis and identified a total of 101 full-length transcripts and 19 metabolites involved in the BIA biosynthetic pathway.Moreover,the contents of 19 representative BIAs in C.yanhusuo were quantified by classical targeted metabolomic approaches.Their accumulation in the tuber was consistent with the expression patterns of identified BIA biosynthetic genes in tubers and leaves,which reinforces the validity and reliability of the analyses.Full-length genes with similar expression or enrichment patterns were identified,and a complete BIA biosynthesis pathway in C.yanhusuo was constructed according to these findings.Phylogenetic analysis revealed a total of ten enzymes that may possess columbamine-O-methyltransferase activity,which is the final step for tetrahydropalmatine synthesis.Our results span the whole BIA biosynthetic pathway in C.yanhusuo.Our full-length transcriptomic data will enable further molecular cloning of enzymes and activity validation studies. 展开更多

目的:探讨一种有效、精准的甲状旁腺正显影定位技术,实现甲状腺手术中甲状旁腺正显影精准定位,提高甲状旁腺辨认阳性率,有效保护甲状旁腺,提高手术安全性及根治效果,同时评估彩超检测甲状旁腺的效能。方法:1)对四川省肿瘤肿瘤医院头颈... 目的:探讨一种有效、精准的甲状旁腺正显影定位技术,实现甲状腺手术中甲状旁腺正显影精准定位,提高甲状旁腺辨认阳性率,有效保护甲状旁腺,提高手术安全性及根治效果,同时评估彩超检测甲状旁腺的效能。方法:1)对四川省肿瘤肿瘤医院头颈外科拟行甲状腺手术的患者行甲状腺患侧正常甲状旁腺的彩超检查,同时记录彩超下甲状旁腺的情况。2)在甲状腺手术患者知情同意情况下术前在彩超引导下局部注射0.1~0.5 mL亚甲蓝染色定位甲状旁腺,术中记录染色情况,术后记录患者是否出现甲状旁腺功能减退症状,如手足麻木、抽搐等,以及血清PTH、血钙情况。结果:1)研究共纳入拟行甲状腺手术患者50例,共检测出甲状旁腺76枚,总甲状旁腺检出率为54.29%(76/140),上甲状旁腺的检出率为40.00%(28/70),下甲状旁腺的检出率为68.57%(48/70);2)检测出的76枚甲状旁腺在彩超上均表现为中等增强回声结节,回声强度高于甲状腺,边界清楚,回声均匀,形态多为椭圆形、类圆形等;3)研究共纳入33例术前甲状旁腺染色定位患者,术前共染色患侧甲状旁腺50枚,术中共37枚显色,总显色率为74.00%(37/50),在显色的37枚甲状旁腺中有10枚甲状旁腺术中冰冻或PTH Test证实为甲状旁腺。在纳入的33例患者中有9例出现暂时性甲状旁腺功能减退症。结论:彩超对于正常甲状旁腺可有效识别,并且彩超引导下甲状旁腺染色定位可在术前精准定位甲状旁腺,帮助甲状腺术中快速、有效识别。 展开更多

[Objective] This study aimed to investigate the phenotypic characteristics of Phytophthora infestans from Guizhou Province.[Method] The metalaxyl resistance,mating type and isozyme genotype of 292 P. infestans strains isolated from Guizhou Province were analyzed.[Result] Metalaxyl-resistant P. infestans strains were found in different areas of Guizhou Province. Resistant,moderately resistant and susceptible strains accounted for 35. 62%,33. 90% and 30. 48%,respectively. Both mating types A1 and A2 were found,which accounted for 65. 38% and 34. 62%,respectively. P. infestans strains isolated from Guizhou Province mainly belonged to Gpi genotypes 100 /100 and 100 /100 /111,accounting for 50. 68% and 43. 84%,respectively.[Conclusion]This study provides the theoretical basis for the prevention and control of potato late blight in Guizhou Province. 展开更多

Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)have shown considerable promise as an energy storage system due to their high conversion efficiency,size options(from coin cell to grid storage),and free of gaseous exhaust.For LIBs,power density and energy density are two of the most important parameters for their practical use,and the power density is the key factor for applications such as fast-charging electric vehicles,high-power portable tools,and power grid stabilization.A high rate of performance is also required for devices that store electrical energy from seasonal or irregular energy sources,such as wind energy and wave energy.Significant efforts have been made over the last several years to improve the power density of LIBs through anodes,cathodes,and electrolytes,and much progress has been made.To provide a comprehensive picture of these recent achievements,this review discusses the progress made in high-power LIBs from 2013 to the present,including general and fundamental principles of high-power LIBs,challenges facing LIB development today,and an outlook for future LIB development. 展开更多

Soil consolidation would induce variations of its transport coefficients such as hydraulic conductivity and diffusion coefficient. This paper presents a study of the influence of barrier consolidation on transport coefficients, and a 3D transport model based on mixture theory is proposed for describing the liners that involve circular defects in the geomembrane. The elastoplastic ALPHA model is revised by using the spatially mobilized plane (SMP) criterion for simulating the deformation of the soils. Then, the 3D model coupling the nonlinear consolidation and contaminant advection-diffusion is solved using the finite element software ABAQUS. The results show that the importance of reducing the defect size in the geomembrane and the liner porosity to control the contaminant concentration increase. 展开更多

The effects of microstructure change on the corrosion behaviours of Ni55Nb20Ti10Zr8Co7 bulk glass-forming alloy were investigated in 1 mol/L HCl and 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 solutions. Different microstructures of the Ni-based alloy were achieved by annealing the bulk glassy rod prepared by copper mould casting. The microstructure, grain size, grain distribution, and phase composition were characterized. Electrochemical behaviours of the Ni-based alloy were revealed by static immersion and anodic potentiodynamic polarization tests. It is indicated that the corrosion behaviours of the Ni-based bulk glass-forming alloy are related to its microstructures, while the fully crystallized alloy exhibits a relatively lower corrosion resistance than those of the amorphous states. 展开更多

Background:Sperm abnormalities are one of the primary factors leading to male sterility,but their pathogenesis is still unclear.Although miRNAs are suggested to exert important roles in the regulation of spermatogenesis at both transcriptional and posttranscriptional levels,little is currently known regarding the regulation of sperm flagella assembly by microRNAs(miRNAs).The role of miRNAs in the development of sperm abnormalities in sterile triploid fish has not been studied.Results:In this study,we found that miR-199-5p was widely expressed in all detected tissues of different-ploidy crucian carp.As one of the testis-specific candidate markers,Tekt1 was predominantly expressed in the testis.Quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)analyses showed that the expression trend of miR-199-5p was exactly opposite to that of Tekt1.Through bioinformatics analysis,we identified a putative miR-199-5p binding site in the Tekt1 mRNA.We further identified Tekt1 as a target of miR-199-5p using luciferase reporter assay.Finally,we confirmed that miR-199-5p was necessary for sperm flagellar assembly and spermatogenesis in vivo via intraperitoneal injection of miR-199-5p antagomir or agomir in diploid red crucian carp.Moreover,miR-199-5p gainof-function could lead to spermatids apoptosis and abnormal spermatozoa structure,which is similar to that of allotriploid crucian carp.Conclusions:Our studies suggested that abnormally elevated miR-199-5p inhibited the sperm flagella formation in spermiogenesis by negatively regulating the expression of Tekt1,thereby causing sperm abnormalities of male allotriploid crucian carp. 展开更多
