Conductive ionic hydrogels(CIH)have been widely studied for the development of stretchable electronic devices,such as sensors,electrodes,and actuators.Most of these CIH are made into 3D or 2D shape,while 1D CIH(hydrog...Conductive ionic hydrogels(CIH)have been widely studied for the development of stretchable electronic devices,such as sensors,electrodes,and actuators.Most of these CIH are made into 3D or 2D shape,while 1D CIH(hydrogel fibers)is often difficult to make because of the low mechanical robustness of common CIH.Herein,we use gel spinning method to prepare a robust CIH fiber with high strength,large stretchability,and good conductivity.The robust CIH fiber is drawn from the composite gel of sodium polyacrylate(PAAS)and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC).In the composite CIH fiber,the soft PAAS presents good conductivity and stretchability,while the rigid CMC significantly enhances the strength and toughness of the PAAS/CMC fiber.To protect the conductive PAAS/CMC fiber from damage by water,a thin layer of hydrophobic polymethyl acrylate(PMA)or polybutyl acrylate(PBA)is coated on the PAAS/CMC fiber as a water-resistant and insulating cover.The obtained PAAS/CMC-PMA and PAAS/CMC-PBA CIH fibers present high tensile strength(up to 28 MPa),high tensile toughness(up to 43 MJ/m~3),and good electrical conductivity(up to 0.35 S/m),which are useful for textile-based stretchable electronic devices.展开更多

Microstructure ob...The effect of shot peening(SP) on hydrogen embrittlement of high strength steel was investigated by electrochemical hydrogen charging, slow strain rate tensile tests, and hydrogen permeation tests. Microstructure observation, microhardness, and X-ray diffraction residual stress studies were also conducted on the steel. The results show that the shot peening specimens exhibit a higher resistance to hydrogen embrittlement in comparison with the no shot peening(NSP) specimens under the same hydrogen-charging current density. In addition, SP treatment sharply decreases the apparent hydrogen diffusivity and increases the subsurface hydrogen concentration. These findings are attributed to the changes in microstructure and compressive residual stress in the surface layer by SP. Scanning electron microscope fractographs reveal that the fracture surface of the NSP specimen exhibits the intergranular and quasi-cleavage mixed fracture modes, whereas the SP specimen shows only the quasi-cleavage fractures under the same hydrogen charging conditions, implying that the SP treatment delays the onset of intergranular fracture.展开更多
Objective To assess the time course of Q value after myopic laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) and preliminarily evaluate the determinants of the difference of Q value between before and after LASIK.Methods ...Objective To assess the time course of Q value after myopic laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) and preliminarily evaluate the determinants of the difference of Q value between before and after LASIK.Methods We performed a retrospective,longitudinal investigation on patients undergoing wavefront optimized LASIK therapy for emmetropization.A total of 418 eyes from 222 cases were examined preoperatively,and partly followed up at one week(172 eyes),one month(134 eyes) and three months(51 eyes) after surgery.The horizontal,vertical and total Q values of cornea were calculated from eccentricity measured at the central 6-mm corneal zones respectively.Potential determinants of the change of Q value were analyzed using multiple linear regressions.Results The mean Q value was-0.17±0.13 preoperatively,and 0.99±0.70,0.97±0.66,and 0.86±0.41 one week,one and three months postoperatively,respectively.One way analysis of variance(ANOVA) demonstrated significant differences between measurements made before surgery and at all postoperative times(at one week,one and three months;all P<0.0001,Bonferroni post hoc),but no significant differences were found among postoperative groups.Significant differences of Q values between horizontal and vertical meridians were found before surgery and at all postoperative times(all P<0.0001).Multiple regression analysis revealed that change of Q value significantly correlated with manifest refraction spherical equivalent(r=0.116,P<0.0001) and axial length(r=0.264,P<0.0001).Conclusions Over the study period,the primary changes in Q value occur within 1 week after surgery,and then become slightly decreased and nearly stable.Manifest refraction spherical equivalent and axial length play a significant role in the change of postoperative Q value.展开更多

Herein we report a new strategy of fabric...Electrodeposition of active catalysts on electrodes appears as a convenient approach to prepare non-noble-metal based electrocatalysts with defined micro- and nano-structures. Herein we report a new strategy of fabricating a 3-D hierarchical CuO nanocrystal array (CuO NCA) on Cu foam through a two-step sacrifice-template method. This CuO NCA possesses high conductivity, great stability, and impressive catalytic activity for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in alkaline electrolytes. The CuO NCA can achieve a high current density of 100 mA/cm2 at a relatively low overpotential of 400 mV for OER, which shows a better performance than other Cu-based OER catalysts and IrO2. The high activity of CuO NCA is well retained during a 10-h OER test at a high current density around 270 mA/cm2, which is about 10 times higher than the current density achieved by IrO2 (around 25 mA/cm2) with the same applied overpotential. According to our best knowledge, CuO NCA is currently the most efficient and stable Cu-based electrocatalyst for water oxidation in alkaline electrolytes.展开更多

With the rising popularity of the concept of“carbon neutralization”,low-carbon products are likely to gain more advantages.Related to this,green tea-an important beverage that is widely consumed in China-along with ...With the rising popularity of the concept of“carbon neutralization”,low-carbon products are likely to gain more advantages.Related to this,green tea-an important beverage that is widely consumed in China-along with emissions from planting,processing,and use phase should be given attention.Meanwhile,quantifying the carbon footprint(CF)of green tea is an essential task in developing the pathway to carbon neutrality.In this study,we quantified the CF and mitigation potential of green tea through life cycle assessment,after which we investigated the pathway toward carbon neutrality in 16 major tea-producing regions(except Hainan and Taiwan)in China.The system boundary was divided into six subsystems from cradle to grave:cultivation,processing,transport,packaging,consumption,and disposal.The results showed that the total carbon emissions of green tea reached 44.13 Mt CO_(2)eq in 2019,of which 43%came from consumption and 28%from cultivation.There were 18.78 Mt CO_(2)eq emissions from fertilizer production and application,while there was a 7.71 Mt CO_(2)eq carbon sink of tea trees.The average carbon intensity was 24.30 kg CO_(2)eq kg−1 tea,while Shandong and Guizhou ranked as the top two provinces.Sichuan,Hubei,and Yunnan Provinces had the largest amounts of carbon emissions at 6.79,6.14,and 5.96 Mt CO_(2)eq,respectively.By 2030,2050 and 2060,total carbon emissions would be reduced by 46%,63%,and 86%,respectively,under carbon neutrality assumption.A small amount of 6.14 Mt CO_(2)eq carbon emissions was retained to be offset by carbon trading or zero-carbon cultivation.Finally,the results indicate that adopting low-carbon fertilizers and clean energies will be a key entry point for carbon-neutral green tea.展开更多
