This study investigated whether high-normal thyrotropin(TSH) levels are associated with metabolic syndrome in euthyroid Chinese people≥40 years old.Clinical and metabolic factors were assessed in 2,356 subjects(40-77...This study investigated whether high-normal thyrotropin(TSH) levels are associated with metabolic syndrome in euthyroid Chinese people≥40 years old.Clinical and metabolic factors were assessed in 2,356 subjects(40-77 years old) with TSH levels in the normal range(0.35-5.00 mU/L).Using 2.50 mU/L as the cut-off point of TSH level within the normal range,we divided subjects into the high-TSH(2.50-5.00 mU/L;n= 1,064) and low-TSH(0.35-2.50mU/L;n= 1,292) group.The results showed that the mean levels of body mass index(BMI),total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),and fasting plasma glucose(FPG) were higher in the high-TSH group and TSH levels were significantly positively con-elated with BMI,LDL-C,TC,and FPG.The prevalence of central obesity,hypertriglyceridemia,low high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),and high FPG(>5.60 mmol/L) was significantly higher in females and subjects with high-TSH levels.Metabolic syndrome was also more prevalent in the high-TSH group.People over the age of 40 years with high-normal TSH levels had a 1.2-fold increased risk of metabolic syndrome,compared with those with low-normal TSII levels,after adjusting for age and gender.In conclusion,high normal TSH is a risk factor for metabolic syndrome in people ≥40 years old.展开更多
The problem of delay-dependent exponential stability is investigated for impulsive stochastic systems with time-varying delay.Although the exponential stability of impulsive stochastic delay systems has been discussed...The problem of delay-dependent exponential stability is investigated for impulsive stochastic systems with time-varying delay.Although the exponential stability of impulsive stochastic delay systems has been discussed by several authors,few works have been done on delay-dependent exponential stability of impulsive stochastic delay systems.Firstly,the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method combing the free-weighting matrix approach is applied to investigate this problem.Some delay-dependent mean square exponential stability criteria are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities.In particular,the estimate of the exponential convergence rate is also provided,which depends on system parameters and impulsive effects.The obtained results show that the system will stable if the impulses' frequency and amplitude are suitably related to the increase or decrease of the continuous flows,and impulses may be used as controllers to stabilize the underlying stochastic system.Numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the results.展开更多

The compact and regular π-π stacking between molecules is paramount in the performance of organic optoelectronic devices. However, it is still a challenge to improve their stacking quality without sacrificing the solution-processability from the aspect of materials design. Here, delicately engineered additives are presented to promote the formation of ordered aggregation of conjugated molecules by regulating their nucleation and growth dynamics. Intriguingly, the long-chain BTP-eC9-4F molecules can realize ordered aggregation comparable to short-chain ones without sacrificing processability. The domain size of BTP-eC9-4F aggregation is enlarged from 24.2 to 32.2 nm in blend films.Thereby exciton diffusion and charge transport become faster, contributing to the suppression of recombination losses. As a result, a power conversion efficiency of 19.2% is achieved in D18:BTP-eC9-4F based organic photovoltaics. Our findings demonstrate a facile strategy to improve the packing quality of solution-processed organic semiconductors for high-efficiency photovoltaics and beyond photovoltaics.展开更多

Methods In order to profile the miRNA expression in LNCaP cells, the cultured cells were stimulated with androgen after 48-h starvation, miRNA microarray analysis and Q-RT-PCR assay were performed. To characterize the effects of miR296 on PCa cells, CL-1 and PC-3 cells were transfected with miR-296 and antisense-miR-296, cell growth and apoptosis were then analyzed. Results The miR-296-5p expression was up-regulated by 2.22 folds in the CL-1 cells, which do not express significantly androgen receptor, than in LNCaP cells. Knockdown of miR-296-5p induced apoptosis of CL-1 cells, but not LNCaP cells. However, knockdown of miR-296-5p inhibited the growth rate of LNCaP cells cultured in absence of androgen. Conclusion MiR-296-5p could be important for development of prostate cancer from androgen dependence to androgen independence.展开更多
