The aim of this study ... Background Biomarker-assisted diagnosis of acute aortic dissection (AAD) is important for diagnosis and treatment. However, identification of biomarkers for AAD in blood is a challenging task. The aim of this study is to search for new potentially microRNA (miRNAs) biomarkers in AAD. Methods The miRNAs expression profiles in ascending aortic tissue and plasma were examined by microarray analysis in two sets or groups. The tissue group was composed of four patients with AAD and four controls of healthy male organ donors. The plasma group included 20 patients with AAD and 20 controls without cardiovascular disease. Bioinformatics was used to analyze the poten- tial targets of the differentially expressed miRNAs. Results Our study revealed that in AAD patients, the aortic tissue had 30 differentially expressed miRNAs with 13 up-regulated and 17 down-regulated, and plasma had 93 differentially expressed miRNAs, of which 33 were up-regulated and 60 were down-regulated. Four miRNAs were found to be up-regulated in both aortic tissue and plasma in AAD patients. The predicted miRNA targets indicated the four dysregulated miRNAs mainly targeted genes that were associated with cell-cell adhesion, extracellular matrix metabolism, cytoskeleton organization, inflammation, and multiple signaling pathways related to cellular cycles. Con- clusions Four miRNAs, which are up-regulated both in aortic tissue and in plasma in AAD patients, have been identified in this study. These miRNAs might be potential diagnostic biomarkers for AAD. Larger sample investigations are needed for further verification. 展开更多

In specific, V(V) can be complexated b... A novel method for the separation and reclamation of vanadium and chromium from acidic solution was proposed. The principle for the separation is based on selective complexation. In specific, V(V) can be complexated by dithiocarbamate to form VO(R1R2NCS2)3 precipitate, leaving Cr(Ⅲ) remained in the acidic solution. Then the reclamation of V and Cr from VO(R1R2NCS2)3 precipitate and Cr(Ⅲ)-bearing solution can be reached by decomplexation and neutralization, respectively. The kinetics of the complexation reaction was studied. In addition, the precipitation ratio of vanadium reached 97% and the loss of chromium was less than 4% after process optimization. The complexing agent could be regenerated with a high ratio of 99.5%. The method was successfully applied to treating chromium-vanadium-bearing slag produced in conventional vanadium production industry. Vanadium and chromium could be extracted from the slag in the form of calcium vanadate and Cr2O3 product with a purity of over 98%. 展开更多

The leaching performance and leaching kinetics of LiFePO_(4)(LFP)and Al in Al-bearing spent LFP cathode powder were systematically studied.The effects of temperature(273−368 K),stirring speed(200−950 r/min),reaction time(0−240 min),acid-to-material ratio(0.1:1−1:1 mL/g)and liquid-to-solid ratio(3:1−9:1 mL/g)on the leaching process were investigated.The results show that the concentration of reactants and the temperature have a greater impact on the leaching of Al.Under the optimal conditions,leaching efficiencies of LFP and Al are 91.53%and 15.98%,respectively.The kinetic study shows that the leaching of LFP is kinetically controlled by mixed surface reaction and diffusion,with an activation energy of 22.990 kJ/mol;whereas the leaching of Al is only controlled by surface chemical reaction,with an activation energy of 46.581 kJ/mol.A low leaching temperature can effectively suppress the dissolving of Al during the acid leaching of the spent LFP cathode material. 展开更多

ZG0Cr26Ni5Mo3Cu3 Duplex Stainless Steel (DSS) was solution treated at 1,060 ℃ for 3 h,followed by water cooling. Tempering treatments were conducted at 720, 750 and 780 ℃, respectively, for 16 h,followed by air cooling. The microstructures of ZG0Cr26Ni5Mo3Cu3 duplex stainless steel samples treated at different tempering temperatures were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersal spectroscopy (EDS), and the phase consitutions were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD). The effects of the precipitation of sigma (σ) phase on the duplex phase percentage, hardness, impact toughness and corrosion resistance of the DSS were studied. Results showed that microstructures of ZG0Cr26Ni5Mo3Cu3 after solution treatment consists of ferrite (α) phase and austenite (γ) phase; after being tempered at different temperatures,σ phase appeared due to a eutectoid-type reaction of α→σ+γ2 during tempering treatment. It was observed that σ phase distributed along the grain boundary. The volume fraction of σ and γ phases increased with increasing tempering temperature in the range of 720 to 780 oC, whereas the volume fraction of α phase showed the opposite trend. When the percentage of σ phase increased, the hardness of steel also increased. In the solution treated steel, hardness was measured to be only 244.0 HB, because σ phase did not appear. However, itincreased to 391.8 HB when the DSS was tempered at 780 oC because a great of deal of σ phase appeared. The impact toughness and corrosion resistance of DSS decreased when the percentage of σ phase increased. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Nearly 10%of patients undergoing primary total knee arthroplasty(TKA)have valgus deformity(VD)of the knee.For severe VD of the knee,a more lateral structural release is needed to achieve balance between medial and lateral space and neutral femorotibial mechanical axis(FTMA),which is challenging and technical.AIM To introduce a new surgical technique of resection,soft tissue release,and FTMA for Ranawat type-Ⅱ VD with a 5-year follow-up.METHODS A retrospective study was conducted on patients who underwent TKA from December 2011 to December 2014.Hip-knee-ankle(HKA),range of motion(ROM),Oxford knee score(OKS),and knee society score(KSS)were used to assess the joint activity of patients in the new theory TKA group(NT-TKA)and were compared with those of the conventional TKA group(C-TKA).RESULTS A total of 103 people(103 knees)were included in this study,including 42 patients with an average follow-up period of 83 mo in the C-TKA group and 61 patients with an average follow-up period of 76 mo in the NT-TKA group.Six patients had constrained prosthesis,one had common peroneal nerve injury,and two had joint instability in the C-TKA group,but none of these occurred in the NT-TKA group.There were significant statistical differences in constrained prosthesis usage and complications between the groups(P=0.002 and P=0.034,respectively).The KSS at 1 mo post-operation for the C-TKA and NT-TKA groups were 11.2±3.8 and 13.3±2.9,respectively,with a significant difference(P=0.007).However,the data of HKA,ROM,OKS KSS,and prosthesis survival rate were insignificant(P>0.05)in both the preoperative and follow-up periods.CONCLUSION Adopting 5°-7°valgus cut angle for VD and sacrificing 2°neutral FTMA for severe VD which cannot be completely corrected during TKA can reduce the need for soft tissue release,maintain early joint stability,reduce the use of constrained prostheses,and minimize postoperative complications. 展开更多

Purpose: To compare the efficacy of quadratus femoris muscle pedicle bone flap transplantation combined with hollow compression screw fixation versus AO hollow compression screw fixation in the treatment of femoral neck fracture for Chinese young and middle-aged patients. Methods: Case-controlled studies (CCTs) were used to compare the two operative methods in the treatment of femoral neck fractures. Data were retrieved from the Cochrane Library, Pubmed Database, CNKI, Chinese Biomedical Database. Wanfang Data published during the period of January 2005 to December 2014. Methodological quality of the trials was critically assessed, and relevant data were extracted. Statistical Software Revman S.0 was used for data-analysis. Results: Eight articles were included in the meta-analysis. The results showed that there was statistical significance in the rate of fracture healing [OR = 5.43, 95% CI (2.89, 10.20), p 〈 0.05], the rate of good function of hip joint [OR=5.12, 95% CI (3.21, 8.17), p 〈 0.05], the rate of femoral head necrosis [OR = 4.21, 95% CI (2.02, 8.76), p 〈 0.05], the time of fracture healing [WMD = -46.85, 95% CI (-65.13, -28.56), p 〈 0.05] between the two groups. Conclusions: For the treatment of femoral neck fractures, the transplantation of quadratus femoris muscle pedicle bone flap combined with hollow compression screw; fixation is superior to the AO hollow compression screw fixation in terms of the rate; of fracture healing, the rate of good function of hip joint, the rate of femoral head: necrosis and the time of fracture healing. 展开更多

Purpose: To compare the efficacy and safety of open reduction and internal fixation through ilioinguinal approach and Stoppa approach for the treatment of displaced acetabular fractures. Methods: Case-controlled trials (CCTs) published from January 2010 to August 2015 that compared the ilioinguinal approach and Stoppa approach in the management of displaced acetabular fractures were retrieved from the databases of Cochrane Library, Pubmed, CNKI, and so on. Methodological quality of the trials was critically assessed. Statistical software RevMan 5.0 was used for data analysis. Results: Eight articles were included in the meta-analysis. Through comparing the efficacy and safety of ilioinguinal approach and Stoppa approach in the treatment of displaced acetabular fracture, statistical significance was found in the average operation time [WMD = 68.29, 95% CI (10.52, 126.05), p 〈 0.05] and the median intraoperative blood loss [WMD = 142.26, 95% CI (9.30, 275.23), p 〈 0.05]. However, there existed no statistical significance in the fracture end reset satisfaction rate [RR = 0.63, 95% CI (0.17, 2.37), p 〉 0.05], the early complications rate [RR = 0.89, 95% CI (0.33, 2.40), p 〉 0.05], the late complications rate [RR = 0.91, 95% CI (0.27, 3.01), p 〉 0.05], and Harris hip score good function rate [RR = 0.52, 95% CI (0.25, 1.10), p 〉 0.05]. Conclusion: Though both techniques can obtain satisfactory clinical functions in the treatment of displaced acetabular fractures, Stoppa approach is superior to the ilioinguinal approach in terms of operation time and intraoperative blood loss. 展开更多

Transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)have emerged as a promising electrocatalyst for hydrogen evo-lution reaction(HER)due to its excellent conductivity and abundant electrocatalytic active sites of its edges.TMDs nanowall can expose abundant of edges so that they tend to show better catalytic performance for hydrogen evolution reaction.Herein,PtSe_(2) nanowall films with morphology controlled at centimeters level are synthesized by selenizing Pt film.The dynamic and thermodynamics of selenation reaction are investigated.The nanowall structure can be obtained by controlling the growth temperature,and the thickness of nanowall can be tuned by the original thickness of Pt film.The Pt atoms can be rearranged into ordered distribution at 550℃ and can be induced to well-ordered PtSe_(2) nanowalls finally.The well-ordered PtSe_(2) nanowall films show excellent HER performance,with an overpotential of 0.3 V at-10 mA·cm^(-2) and a Tafel slope of~52 mV·dec^(-1).This work demonstrates the great potential of activated 2D PtSe_(2) as an ultrathin film catalyst for the HER,which is valuable to provide instruction and afford experience for further application at industrial level. 展开更多

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T excision repair cross-complementation group 1 (ERCC1) genetic polymorphisms and the clinical efficacy of gemcitabine-based chemotherapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: A total of 135 chemonaive patients with unresectable advanced NSCLC were treated with gemcitabine/platinum regi- mens. The polymorphisms of MTHFR C677T, ERCC1 C8092A, and ERCC1 Cl18T were genotyped using the TaqMan methods. Results: The overall response rate was 28.9%. Patients with MTHFR CC genotype had a higher rate of objective response than patients with variant genotype (TT or CT) (41.2% versus 19.1%, P=0.01 ). Median time to progression (TTP) of patients with MTHFR CC genotype was longer than that of patients with variant genotype (7.6 months versus 5.0 months, P=0.003). No significant associations were obtained between ERCC1 C118T and C8092A polymorphisms and both response and survival. Conclusions: Our data suggest the value of MTHFR C677T polymorphism as a possible predictive marker of response and TTP in advanced NSCLC patients treated with gemcitabine/platinum. 展开更多

Methods: Reports of studies using case-controlled trials (CCT) to compare the percutaneous poking reduction and fixation with the open reduction and fixation in the management of calcaneal fractures were retrieved from the Cochrane Library, PubMed Database, CNKI, Chinese Biomedical Database, Wanfang Data (fromJanuary of 2005 to August of 2015). Methodological quality of the trials was critically assessed, and relevant data were extracted. Statistical software Revman 5.0 was used for data-analysis. Results: Fifteen articles were included in the meta-analysis. Comparison of the efficacy of percutaneous poking reduction and fixation with open reduction and fixation in the treatment of calcaneal fractures revealed statistical significance in the incidence of complications after operation [RR -- 0.32, 95,~ Cl (0.20, 0.5), p 〈 0.05]. However, there were neither statistical significance in the degrees of recovery for calcaneal Bohler angle [WMD = -1.65, 95% CI ( 3.43, 0.14), p 〉 0.05] and calcaneal Gissane angle [WMD - -3.21, 95%, Cl (-6.75, 0.33), p 〉 0.05], nor statistical significance in the rate of good foot function after operation [RR = 0.95, 95Z Cl (0.90, 1.00), p 〉 0.05]. Conclusion: For the treatment of calcaneal fractures, percutaneous poking reduction and fixation is superior to open reduction and fixation in terms of the incidence of postoperative complications.
