The membrane fouling phenomenon,reflected with various fouling characterization in the membrane bioreactor(MBR)process,is so complicated to distinguish.This paper proposes a multivariable identification model(MIM)based on a compacted cascade neural network to identify membrane fouling accurately.Firstly,a multivariable model is proposed to calculate multiple indicators of membrane fouling using a cascade neural network,which could avoid the interference of the overlap inputs.Secondly,an unsupervised pretraining algorithm was developed with periodic information of membrane fouling to obtain the compact structure of MIM.Thirdly,a hierarchical learning algorithm was proposed to update the parameters of MIM for improving the identification accuracy online.Finally,the proposed model was tested in real plants to evaluate its efficiency and effectiveness.Experimental results have verified the benefits of the proposed method. 展开更多

High-quality data play a paramount role in monitoring,control,and prediction of wastewater treatment process(WWTP)and can effectively ensure the efficient and stable operation of system.Missing values seriously degrade the accuracy,reliability and completeness of the data quality due to network collapses,connection errors and data transformation failures.In these cases,it is infeasible to recover missing data depending on the correlation with other variables.To tackle this issue,a univariate imputation method(UIM)is proposed for WWTP integrating decomposition method and imputation algorithms.First,the seasonal-trend decomposition based on loess method is utilized to decompose the original time series into the seasonal,trend and remainder components to deal with the nonstationary characteristics of WWTP data.Second,the support vector regression is used to approximate the nonlinearity of the trend and remainder components respectively to provide estimates of its missing values.A self-similarity decomposition is conducted to fill the seasonal component based on its periodic pattern.Third,all the imputed results are merged to obtain the imputation result.Finally,six time series of WWTP are used to evaluate the imputation performance of the proposed UIM by comparing with existing seven methods based on two indicators.The experimental results illustrate that the proposed UIM is effective for WWTP time series under different missing ratios.Therefore,the proposed UIM is a promising method to impute WWTP time series. 展开更多

目的:探讨原发乳腺弥漫大B细胞淋巴瘤(primary breast diffuse large B cell lymphoma,PB-DLBCL)的临床特征、治疗方案及预后因素。方法:回顾性分析2010年1月至2018年1月郑州大学第一附属医院收治的21例PB-DLBCL患者的临床病理资料。所... 目的:探讨原发乳腺弥漫大B细胞淋巴瘤(primary breast diffuse large B cell lymphoma,PB-DLBCL)的临床特征、治疗方案及预后因素。方法:回顾性分析2010年1月至2018年1月郑州大学第一附属医院收治的21例PB-DLBCL患者的临床病理资料。所有患者均为女性,中位年龄为49(21~77)岁,均接受化疗,其中17例接受CHOP方案,4例接受EPOCH方案。8例接受化疗序贯放疗,13例接受单纯化疗。采用Kaplan-Meier法及Cox回归模型进行多因素分析。结果:21例患者无痛性肿块为主要表现。5年总生存率(overall survival,OS)和无进展生存率(progressione-free survival,PFS)分别为74%和66%。EPOCH方案与CHOP方案之间在复发或进展上的差异无统计学意义(P=0.603)。行预防性鞘内注射的患者无中枢神经系统复发,未行鞘内注射患者有2例中枢神经系统复发,差异无统计学意义(P=0.232)。单因素及多因素分析结果均显示,β2微球蛋白(HR=0.431,95%CI为0.432~0.967,P=0.044)和放疗(HR=0.495,95%CI为1.073~2.508,P=0.002)与PB-DLBCL的OS均相关。结论:PB-DLBCL好发于女性,多累及单侧乳腺,主要表现为无痛性肿块。β2微球蛋白水平为不良的预后因素。化疗联合放疗可显著提高患者的生存期。鞘内注射对于预防中枢神经系统淋巴瘤的复发可能具有意义。 展开更多

目的:分析低级别滤泡淋巴瘤(follicular lymphoma,FL)在各年龄段人群中的临床特征及预后。方法:收集2011年1月至2019年12月郑州大学第一附属医院初治的82例低级别FL患者的病例资料,男女比为1∶1.05,中位年龄52(19~84)岁。分类变量行Chi-... 目的:分析低级别滤泡淋巴瘤(follicular lymphoma,FL)在各年龄段人群中的临床特征及预后。方法:收集2011年1月至2019年12月郑州大学第一附属医院初治的82例低级别FL患者的病例资料,男女比为1∶1.05,中位年龄52(19~84)岁。分类变量行Chi-square检验,采用Kaplan-Meier法、Logistic单因素分析及Cox回归模型多因素分析进行生存资料分析。结果:82例患者分为年龄<40岁、40~59岁和≥60岁3个组。随着年龄段的上升,患者多见红细胞沉降率(erythrocyte sedimentation rate,ESR)增快、外周血血小板与淋巴细胞比值(platelet to lymphocyte ratio,PLR)升高、Bcl-2表达呈阳性的患者比例升高、ECOG评分和FLIPI-2评分升高,且初治效果达到完全缓解(complete response,CR)的比例降低(P<0.05)。随访的73例患者2、5年总生存率(overall survival,OS)分别为97.2%和74.1%,无进展生存率(progression-free survival,PFS)分别为91.5%和88.8%。73例患者在年龄<40岁、40~59岁和≥60岁3个组中,5年OS分别为100%、73.8%和46.5%(P=0.014)。比较各组PFS差异无统计学意义(P=0.190)。根据化疗方案分析,利妥昔单抗联合化疗与单用化疗组,5年OS分别为85.7%和69.3%(P=0.004),5年PFS分别为96.8%和56.3%(P<0.001)。单用化疗组中3个年龄组3年OS分别为100%、75.0%和71.4%(P=0.048),利妥昔单抗联合化疗组中各年龄组的3年OS无显著性差异(P=0.050)。根据Ann Arbor分期分析,晚期组(Ⅲ+Ⅳ期)中3个年龄组的5年OS分别为100%、88.9%和47.7%(P=0.046),早期组(Ⅰ+Ⅱ期)各年龄组的5年OS无显著性差异(P=0.414)。结论:低级别FL患者预后随年龄段的上升变差,男性为预后不良因素,利妥昔单抗联合化疗可以改善预后,延长患者生存期。 展开更多

Objective:This study aimed to analyze clinicopathological and prognostic features of four rare pathological subtypes of primary liver malignancies to make better understanding of their clinical features.Methods:The clinicopathological data of 114 patients who were diagnosed with histologically proven four subtypes:clear cell carcinoma(CCC),giant cell carcinoma(GCC),sarcomatoid carcinoma(SC),and combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma(CHC)between October 1998 and August 2015 were reviewed.Their survival data were compared with those of 908 patients with histologically proven common hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)(early-and advanced-stage HCC)during the same period.Results:The outcome of the CCC group was better than that of the other three subgroups,and was similar to that of the early-stage HCC group.Also,the smallest tumor size and the highest incidence of pseudocapsule formation were observed in the CCC group.The SC group had the worst outcome among these four subgroups;the prognosis was much poorer than that of any other subgroups,even poorer than that of the advanced-stage common HCC group.No statistical difference was observed between the GCC,CHC and advanced-stage HCC groups on survival analysis.The incidences of tumor vascular emboli,TNM staging and non-radical resection were three risk factors of the prognosis.Conclusions:CCC is a low-degree malignancy and relatively favorably prognostic subtype of HCC.However,GCC,SC,and CHC are three rare high-degree malignancy subtypes of HCC with poor prognosis. 展开更多

In this study, a multivariate local quadratic polynomial regression(MLQPR) method is proposed to design a model for the sludge volume index(SVI). In MLQPR, a quadratic polynomial regression function is established to describe the relationship between SVI and the relative variables, and the important terms of the quadratic polynomial regression function are determined by the significant test of the corresponding coefficients. Moreover, a local estimation method is introduced to adjust the weights of the quadratic polynomial regression function to improve the model accuracy. Finally, the proposed method is applied to predict the SVI values in a real wastewater treatment process(WWTP). The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed MLQPR method has faster testing speed and more accurate results than some existing methods. 展开更多

Objective:This study aimed to evaluate the safety,efficacy,and feasibility of the rituximab,fotemustine,pemetrexed,and dexamethasone(R-FPD)regimen followed by whole-brain radiotherapy(WBRT)for patients with primary central nervous system lymphoma(PCNSL).Methods:A prospective,single-center phase II clinical trial was conducted.Patients with PCNSL newly diagnosed at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University between July 2018 and July 2020 were studied.The R-FPD regimen consisted of rituximab(375 mg/m2 i.v.on D0),fotemustine(100 mg/m2 i.v.on D1),pemetrexed(600 mg/m2 i.v.on D1),and dexamethasone(40 mg i.v.on D1-5).Patients 60 years or younger who showed a complete response(CR)were treated with 23.4 Gy of WBRT after the end of chemotherapy;those older than 60 years with CR were treated with a wait-and-see approach;and those who did not show CR after the 4th cycle of chemotherapy were given salvage WBRT 30 Gy+local tumor field irradiation up to 45 Gy,regardless of age.Results:A total of 30 patients were included.After 2 cycles,the objective response rate(ORR)was 96.5%(28/29,1 CR,27 PR,0 SD,and 1 PD).After 4 cycles,the ORR was 73.1%(19/26,11 CR,8 PR,4 SD,and 3 PD).After WBRT,the ORR was 90.9%(10/11,7 CR,3 PR,and 1 SD).The grade III and IV toxicity responses were mainly leukopenia(20.0%),thrombocytopenia(23.3%),and anemia(10.0%).Conclusions:Fotemustine-based therapy in combination with rituximab chemotherapy followed by WBRT can improve outcomes,providing ORR benefits and favorable tolerability in patients newly diagnosed with PCNSL. 展开更多

Risk factors for anastomotic leakage after low anterior resection without diversional stomas

Objective The most important complication after low anterior resection(LAR) for mid-low rectal cancer is symptomatic anastomotic leakage(AL). More than one-third of patients with rectal cancer who underwent LAR will have functional stomas during primary operation. The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the risk factors associated with clinical AL following LAR without diversional stomas.Methods Between 2012 and 2017, information about 578 consecutive patients with rectal tumors less than 12 cm from the anal verge who underwent LAR without diversional stomas by the same surgical team was collected retrospectively. A standardized extraperitonealized anastomosis and pelvic drainage were conducted for all patients during primary operations, and the outcome of interest was clinical AL. The associations between AL and 14 patient-related and surgical variables were examined by both univariate chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression analysis.Results The AL rate was 7.27%(42 of 578). Univariate and multivariate analyses showed that male sex(P = 0.018), mid-low rectal cancer(located 10 cm or less above the anal verge)(P = 0.041), presence of diabetes(odds ratio = 2.117), longer duration of operation(odds ratio = 1.890), and intraoperative contamination(odds ratio = 2.163) were risk factors of AL for LAR without diversional stoma and independently predictive of clinical AL. Nearly 83.3%(35 of 42) of leakage could be cured by persistent pelvic irrigation-suction-drainage without surgical intervention. Only 7 patients(16.7%) with severe complications, such as peritonitis, and fistula, required reoperation, and functional stoma was used as a salvage treatment.Conclusion From the findings of this retrospective survey, we identified that mid-low rectal cancer and male sex were independent risk factors for developing clinical AL after LAR without diversional stomas, as well as longer duration of operation, presence of diabetes, and contamination of the operative field. Moreover, we deemed that LAR without diversional stomas for mid-low rectal cancers was safe, effective, and feasible. Extraperitonealized anastomosis and pelvic drainage obtained a relatively low rate of AL and avoided unnecessary functional stomas. Pelvic irrigation-suction-drainage was an effective procedure to resolve AL, and functional stoma was potentially used as a salvage modality for serious leakage. 展开更多

Herein, we report a very high content of simple sequence repeats (SSRs) covering 66.12% of the herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) genome when a low threshold is adopted to define SSRs, indicating that repeat sequence is a very important character of the HSV-1 genome. The repeats with two iterations account for 68.33% of the total repeats. In reality, the genome of HSV-1 is prone to form shorter repeat sequences. For mono-, di- and trinucleotide repeats, the repeat numbers decreased with the increase of repeats iterations, implicating that the formation tendency of SSRs might be from low iterations to high iterations. The high iterations SSRs might have subjected to strong selected pressure and survived to perform different functions. The analysis suggested that the repeats formation may be an essential evolutionary driving force for the HSV-1 genome, and the results might be helpful for studying the genome structure, repeats genesis and genome evolution of HSV-1. 展开更多

Based on pure lines of yellow catfish,super-males and physiological females of yellow catfish were selected by GMT technique,hormonal sex reversal method and test-crossing to establish the germplasm bank of YY physiological females( YY♀). The propagation system of male yellow catfish( XY♂) was established based on the combination of super-males( YY♂) and pure-line female( XX♀) for large-scale production of pure-line yellow catfish males,which effectively overcome the disadvantages in the production of common fingerlings and male fingerlings using low-grade fish with slow growth and small size at the bottom of the fish grader as broodfish,such as progeny germplasm degeneration,loss of growth vigor and reduction of breeding benefits. Quantitative evaluation and analysis was made to the soil nutrients,rice yield,rice and fertilizer utilization rate,and economic and ecological benefits of the slow controlled release fertilizer in typical rice fields with middle-low yield by comparing the one-time application and split applications of slow-or controlledrelease fertilizer( CRF) with farmers fertilizer practice as the control,with the aim to explore the effect of CRF. Results showed that compared with the control,the application of CRF could meet balance nutrients required for rice growth,and the effective panicles and seed-setting rate were higher in the treatment groups of FVOL,SVOL,LADVOLwhich applied CRF. As for soil nutrients,soil pH maintained balance in FVOL,FCAI,SVOL,LADVOL. In addition,differences in soil nutrient reduction amount reached the extremely significant level between FVOLand SXNK.SVOLwhich applied CRF provided reasonable regulation of N,P and K release rate,which showed advantages over blending fertilization and farmers fertilizer practice. Comprehensive analysis found that the application of CRF could make rice tillering growth and decline leveled off,which effectively improved the quality of rice population,and it also had higher input-output ratio than that of the control and good economic benefits. In general,CRF suits to be used widely on rice crop in the regions with medium-low yield. 展开更多

Hierarchical Cellular Networks (HCN) offer more efficient channel utilization and better quality of service (QoS) under the high tele-traffic condition compared to the single-tier system. One of the important measures of QoS in HCN as in any single-tier system is the handoff dropping rate. Although the existing approaches such as guard channel and queuing can reduce forced termination probability, they also result in higher new call blocking probability. The channel sub-rating strategy has found to be an effective technique to reduce the handoff force termination probability while preserving the new call blocking probability in a single-tier system. In this paper, we propose a new call admission control scheme for HCN based on the channel sub-rating. Analytic models based on 1-D Markov process in microcell and 2-D Markov process in macrocell are developed. Experimental results show that our scheme achieves lower blocking and forced termination probabilities compared to the traditional guard channel scheme. The effect of channel sub-rating on the voice quality degradation is also studied. The issue of energy consumption has garnered significant interest due to its excessive usage.Recently,thermoelectric devices have been getting increased attention,as they can harness waste heat from various sources,such as solar radiation,human body,and industrial processes.Traditionally,the recovery of low-grade heat has been a challenge,resulting in unsustainable energy use and significant losses.While considerable advances have been made in thermoelectric materials in recent decades,the majority of these devices still primarily employ semiconductors.Nevertheless,the emergence of quasi-solid-state thermoelectric materials represents a novel development with profound promise for the environment and society.These materials offer several advantages,such as improved energy conversion capacities,cost-effectiveness,versatility,and scalability,to support increased usage.Additionally,this review explores the application of thermoelectric materials in self-powered sensors,integrated modules,and heat harvesting management.Lastly,the potential of high-performance thermocouples based on thermogalvanic effects is assessed,along with the challenges that must be overcome to realize this goal. 展开更多

Background:Total removal of the vestibular schwannoma when preserving the function of the facial nerve is difficult.The objective of the current study was to investigate the short-term clinical outcome of vestibular schwannoma removal via retro-sigmoid approach.Methods:One-hundred consecutive patients diagnosed with vestibular schwannoma were surgically treated between December 2018 and August 2019 in Xuanwu Hospital,Capital Medical University.The clinical classification,surgical position,gross total removal rate,the anatomical and functional preservation rates of facial nerve,and the postoperative complications were retrospectively analyzed.Results:All 100 patients including 34 males and 66 females were operated on via retro-sigmoid approach.According to Koos vestibular schwannoma grading system,18 cases were grade 2,34 cases were grade 3,and 48 cases were grade 4.According to Hannover vestibular schwannoma grading system,5 cases were T2,6 cases were T3a,8 cases were T3b,30 cases were T4a,and 51 cases were T4b.Seventy-three surgeries were performed under lateral position,and 27 cases were operated under semi-sitting position.The gross total removal rate was 90.0%;the anatomic reservation rate of the facial nerve was 96.0%.According to the House-Brackman system,the facial nerve function was grades 1-2 in 78.0%cases,grade 3 in 7.0%cases,and grades 4-5 in 15%cases.For patients with effective hearing before operation,the hearing reservation rate was 19.0%.Two patients(2.0%)developed intracranial hematoma after operation.Conclusion:Most vestibular schwannoma could be completely removed with good postoperative facial nerve function.If total removal of tumor is difficult,we should give priority to the functional preservation of the nerve function. 展开更多

Thanks to the fast improvement of the computing power and the rapid development of the computational chemistry and biology,the computer-aided drug design techniques have been successfully applied in almost every stage of the drug discovery and development pipeline to speed up the process of research and reduce the cost and risk related to preclinical and clinical trials.Owing to the development of machine learning theory and the accumulation of pharmacological data, the artificial intelligence(AI) technology, as a powerful data mining tool, has cut a figure in various fields of the drug design, such as virtual screening,activity scoring, quantitative structure-activity relationship(QSAR) analysis, de novo drug design, and in silico evaluation of absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity(ADME/T) properties. Although it is still challenging to provide a physical explanation of the AI-based models, it indeed has been acting as a great power to help manipulating the drug discovery through the versatile frameworks. Recently, due to the strong generalization ability and powerful feature extraction capability,deep learning methods have been employed in predicting the molecular properties as well as generating the desired molecules,which will further promote the application of AI technologies in the field of drug design. 展开更多
