Pyroptosis, also known as cell inflammatory necrosis, is a new way of programmed cell death discovered and confirmed in recent years, which is characterized by dependence on inflammatory caspase and the release of a large number of pro-inflammatory factors. GSDMD plays an irreplaceable role in the process of pyroptosis. Studies have shown that pyroptosis is widely involved in the development of infectious diseases, nervous system-related diseases and atherosclerotic diseases, and plays an important role. Recent studies have shown that cell death is involved in the central link of many eye diseases, especially dry eye, senile cataract and glaucoma. Therefore, an in-depth understanding of the pathogenesis of cell death in eye diseases will help to provide new ideas for clinical prevention and treatment of eye diseases. The purpose of this paper is to explain the mechanism of cell death and its related role in some eye diseases. 展开更多

The Emerging Roles of Non-Coding RNAs in Cataract

Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) are a large class of transcripts lacking evident protein coding potential, and play versatile roles in a diverse range of physiological and pathological processes. Mounting evidences have indicated that ncRNAs are aberrantly expressed in a wealth of diseases such as cataract. Cataract is a cloudy lens caused by radiation, age, drugs and other factors. NcRNAs, including microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs, circular RNAs, have been identified to regulate the occurrence and development of cataract. Current studies indicate that ncRNAs exert the multifaceted functions in the lens of cataract patients and have been proved as potential diagnostic biomarkers or therapeutic targets for cataracts. This review summarizes the study of relationship between the lens and ncRNAs, which can provide a novel insight into the pathogenesis of cataract. 展开更多

Three-liquid-phase extraction and separation of V(V) and Cr(VI) from acidic leach solutions of high-chromium vanadium–titanium magnetite 被引量:5

A new method by liquid–liquid–liquid three phase system, consisting of acidified primary amine N1923(abbreviated as A-N1923), poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG) and (NH_4)_2SO_4 aqueous solution, was suggested for the separation and simultaneous extraction of V(V) and Cr(VI) from the acidic leach solutions of highchromium vanadium–titanium magnetite. Experimental results indicated that V(V) and Cr(VI) could be selectively enriched into the A-N1923 organic top phase and PEG-rich middle phase, respectively, while Al(III)and other co-existing impurity ions, such as Si(IV), Fe(III), Ti(IV), Mg(II) and Ca(II) in acidic leach solutions,could be enriched in the(NH_4)_2SO_4 bottom aqueous phase. During the process for extraction and separation of V(V) and Cr(VI), almost all of impurity ions could be removed. The separation factors between V(V) and Cr(VI) could reach 630 and 908, respectively in the organic top phase and PEG middle phase, and yields of recovered V(V) and Cr(VI) in the top phase and middle phase respectively were all above 90%.Various effects including aqueous p H, A-N1923 concentration, PEG added amount and(NH_4)_2SO_4 concentration on three-phase partitioning of V(V) and Cr(VI) were discussed. It was found that the partition of Cr(VI) into the PEG-rich middle phase was driven by hydrophobic interaction, while extraction of V(V) by A-N1923 resulted of anion exchange between NO_3^- and H_2V_(10)O_(28)^(-4). Stripping of V(V) and Cr(VI) from the top organic phase and the middle PEG-rich phase were achieved by mixing respectively with NaNO_3 aqueous solutions and Na OH-((NH_4)_2SO_4 solutions. The present work highlights a new approach for the extraction and purification of V and Cr from the complex multi-metal co-existing acidic leach solutions of high-chromium vanadium–titanium magnetite. 展开更多

A new approach was proposed for grouping separation of 14 lanthanide rare-earth ions from their coexisting mixed aqueous solutions, by performing liquid-column elution using the aqueous solution containing 14 lanthanide rare-earth ions as the stationary phase and the dispersed organic oil droplets containing P507 extractant as the mobile phase. It was revealed that 14 lanthanide rare-earth ions could be separated into four groups, according to the lanthanide tetrad effect, respectively eluting out from the liquid column at different time in a certain order. Various effects including the saponification degree of P507, the concentration of P507 in organic phase, the length and inner diameter of the extraction column on the performance of grouping separation of rare-earth ions were discussed. The changes of the mass transfer coefficients were also investigated. The separation efficiency of the four groups of rareearth elements(REEs) was evaluated based on the elution resolution, Rs, of the elution peaks of La(Ⅲ),Gd(Ⅲ), Ho(Ⅲ) and Lu(Ⅲ), the four representative elements respectively from each of the four groups of REEs. Experimental results demonstrated that the separation of REEs by liquid-column elution mainly depended on the competitive adsorption of different rare-earth groups onto the surface of ascending P507 oil droplets. The affinity of different rare-earth groups with P507 extractant and a limited adsorption capacity of P507 molecules at the surface of the oil droplets ascending in liquid column play the important role. The present work highlights a promising technique for grouping separation of multiple lanthanide elements co-existing complex systems. 展开更多

The kinetics and the difference for Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ)extraction from nitrate aqueous solution using trialkylmethylammonium nitrate([A336][NO3])as extractant were investigated by the single drop technique.The dependence of the extraction rate of Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ)on the concentrations of free Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ)ions,the concentrations of Na NO3 and H+in aqueous solutions,and the concentrations of[A336][NO3]in kerosene solutions were discussed and the corresponding extraction rate equations for Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ)were obtained.These equations demonstrated that the reaction rate constant of Pr(Ⅲ)with[A336][NO3]was double than that of Nd(Ⅲ).The effect of the addition of diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid(DTPA)on the difference in the extraction rate of Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ)by[A336][NO3]was also investigated.It was revealed that the difference in the complex formation rates of Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ)with DTPA made a significant impact on the difference in the extraction rates of Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ)with[A336][NO3].The ratio of extraction rates of Pr(Ⅲ)to Nd(Ⅲ)with[A336][NO3]was in proportion to the ratio of complex formation rates of Pr(Ⅲ)to Nd(Ⅲ)with DTPA.The extraction rate difference for Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ)with[A336][NO3]increased due to a higher complex formation rate constant of DTPA with the free and un-complexed Nd(Ⅲ)ions in the aqueous nitrate solution than that with Pr(Ⅲ)ions.Therefore,the addition of DTPA in the aqueous nitrate solution is an effective method to intensify the separation of Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ)in kinetics.The study on the extraction mechanism indicated that both the extraction of Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ)by[A336][NO3]were diffusion controlled,and the reactions obeyed SN2 mechanism.The present work highlights a possible approach to strengthen the kinetic separation of Pr(Ⅲ)and Nd(Ⅲ). 展开更多

However, current proposals for cloud disk arenot satisfactory in terms of the decoupling of virtual computing and business data storage in the cloud desktop environment. Inthis paper, we present a new virtual disk mapping method for cloud desktop storage. In Windows, compared with virtual hard diskmethod of popular cloud disks, the proposed implementation of client based on the virtual disk driver and the file system filterdriver is available for widespread desktop environments, especially for the cloud desktop with limited storage resources. Further-more, our method supports customizable local cache storage, resulting in user-friendly experience for thin-clients of the clouddesktop. The evaluation results show that our virtual disk mapping method performs well in the read-write throughput of differentscale files. 展开更多

We report a case of a large plant foreign body in the orbit. A 30-year-old male presented to our hospital 6 h after a penetrating orbital injury in his left superior eyelid when he skidded from his motorcycle while riding. When the patient reported to us, he already had an inability to open his left eye and a continuous pain in the left orbit. On examination, there was a large plant foreign body penetrating the nasal orbit through the left upper eyelid. Orbital CT revealed a low density linear foreign body measuring 3.6 ×0.5 cm in the left orbit.An emergency operation was performed to remove the foreign body. The patient's visual acuity did not recover satisfactorily due to optic nerve injury.This case highlights the fact that careful surgical removal of foreign bodies is the treatment of choice and that all patients should receive post-operative antibiotic therapy because of the high incidence of secondary orbital infections. The final outcome and prognosis depend greatly upon the composition and location of the foreign body and whether there are serious complications. (Eye Science 2013;.28:44 - 47) 展开更多

Winter turnip rape(Brassica rapa L.)is widely cultivated in winter in Northwest China,however,its cold-tolerant mechanism remains insufficiently understood.In this study,winter turnip rape cultivar Longyou 7,a cold-tolerant variety,was used as material,whose accumulation of H_(2)O_(2) and O_(2)^(·-),antioxidant enzyme activity as well as differences in protein expression based on two-dimensional gel electrophoresis(2-DE)technique under -4℃ stress were analyzed.Results showed that,production of H_(2)O_(2) and O_(2)^(·-) were increased in Longyou 7 leaves,simultaneously,SOD and POD activities were also obviously rosed up,but the activities of CAT and APX were gradually reduced with the temperature.Thirty-six differential protein spots were successfully identified between control and treatments group by using mass spectrometry analysis.Among them,4 differential protein spots were induced under cold stress,and 2 were inhibited at-4℃.Functional analysis found that these identified proteins mainly participated in photosynthesis,carbohydrate metabolism,defense,protein synthesis,enzyme activity,redox and membrane metabolism,respectively.Additionally,13 proteins'function were still unknown.In conclusion,strong antioxidant capacity and cell defense ability might play important roles in Longyou 7 response to cold stress. 展开更多

An Improved 6S Code for Atmospheric Correction Based on Water Vapor Content

Water vapor content in the atmosphere is very significant for atmospheric correction of optical remote sensing data. Nowadays, the common atmospheric correction models use a single value of the average water vapor content of the study area to perform atmospheric correction. As the distribution of water vapor content varies greatly with time and space, it is obviously inaccurate to represent the total water vapor conditions of the whole area by just reading the average water vapor content. In this study, we altered the 6S sources so that it could read the water vapor content image which was retrieved from MODIS 1 km data. Atmospheric correction was implemented for the band 1 of MODIS 500 m data pixel-by-pixel using the improved 6S model. In comparison with the traditional 6S model, this improved 6S model is more reasonable in atmospheric correction, for it considers the spatial distribution of the water vapor content retrieved from MODIS data in the near infrared to define the atmospheric conditions for simulating the atmospheric radiative transfer. The results corrected by the improved 6S model showed more reasonable in pixel spatial distribution and closer histogram with the original image than those by traditional 6S model. 展开更多

Background:This study aimed to develop a comprehensive instrument for evaluating and ranking clinical practice guidelines,named Scientific,Transparent and Applicable Rankings tool(STAR),and test its reliability,validity,and usability.Methods:This study set up a multidisciplinary working group including guideline methodologists,statisticians,journal editors,clinicians,and other experts.Scoping review,Delphi methods,and hierarchical analysis were used to develop the STAR tool.We evaluated the instrument’s intrinsic and interrater reliability,content and criterion validity,and usability.Results:STAR contained 39 items grouped into 11 domains.The mean intrinsic reliability of the domains,indicated by Cronbach’sαcoefficient,was 0.588(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.414,0.762).Interrater reliability as assessed with Cohen’s kappa coefficient was 0.774(95%CI:0.740,0.807)for methodological evaluators and 0.618(95%CI:0.587,0.648)for clinical evaluators.The overall content validity index was 0.905.Pearson’s r correlation for criterion validity was 0.885(95%CI:0.804,0.932).The mean usability score of the items was 4.6 and the median time spent to evaluate each guideline was 20 min.Conclusion:The instrument performed well in terms of reliability,validity,and efficiency,and can be used for comprehensively evaluating and ranking guidelines. 展开更多

With the advancement of living standards,the role of healthy diets in maintaining well-being has gained prominence.The concept of“medicinal fruits and vegetables”has attracted much research attention recently.Medicinal fruits and vegetables are rich in nutrients and high in edible value,and are also necessary for people's daily diet.In order to better exert the effect of medicinal fruits and vegetables and prolong their shelf life,this paper reviews the effects of common thermal processing methods(boiling,steaming,microwaving,hot air drying,and pasteurization)on the bioactive compounds and pharmacological activities of medicinal fruits and vegetables.It is found that different heat treatment methods have their own advantages and disadvantages,and microwave drying has greater advantages in comparison.Through the summary of the thermal processing methods of medicinal fruits and vegetables,it is expected to provide a theoretical reference for its rational utilization in the field of fruits and vegetables and the improvement of thermal processing methods. 展开更多

目的探讨极早产儿发生支气管肺发育不良(BPD)的影响因素。方法选择2020年1月1日至12月31日,于青岛大学附属医院、青岛市市立医院、济宁市第一人民医院及枣庄市妇幼保健院出生并接受治疗的208例极早产儿为研究对象。根据是否发生BPD,将... 目的探讨极早产儿发生支气管肺发育不良(BPD)的影响因素。方法选择2020年1月1日至12月31日,于青岛大学附属医院、青岛市市立医院、济宁市第一人民医院及枣庄市妇幼保健院出生并接受治疗的208例极早产儿为研究对象。根据是否发生BPD,将其分为BPD组(n=153)和非BPD组(n=55);再根据BPD严重程度分度,将BPD组极早产儿分为Ⅰ度BPD亚组(n=31)、Ⅱ度BPD亚组(n=17)及Ⅲ度BPD亚组(n=7)。采用回顾性分析法,统计学比较BPD组与非BPD组,以及3个BPD亚组极早产儿出生与治疗情况、生后14 d内液体摄入量等。采用多因素非条件logistic回归分析,探讨极早产儿发生BPD及BPD极早产儿发生Ⅲ度BPD的影响因素。本研究经青岛大学附属医院医学伦理委员会批准(审批文号:QYFYWZLL26841),并且与所有患儿监护人签署临床研究知情同意书。结果①BPD组极早产儿出生胎龄、体重、头围及身长,以及生后1、5、10 min Apgar评分,均小于、轻于、短于、低于非BPD组;而孕母产前激素使用率,极早产儿出生窒息率、肺表面活性剂(PS)使用率及早发型败血症(EOS)发生率,以及有创及无创机械通气时间,均高于、长于非BPD组,并且差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。②BPD组极早产儿生后第2、4、5、7、11、12天的总液体摄入量,以及生后第6、8~14天肠外液体静脉输注量,均多于非BPD组;生后第1~14天肠内液体摄入量,则均少于非BPD组,并且上述差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。③多因素非条件logistic回归分析:极早产儿生后1 min Apgar评分低(OR=1.866,95%CI:1.063~3.274,P=0.030),有创机械通气时间长(OR=1.834,95%CI:1.158~2.905,P=0.010),无创机械通气时间长(OR=1.163,95%CI:1.067~1.267,P=0.001),发生EOS(OR=0.071,95%CI:0.011~0.465,P=0.006)是极早产儿发生BPD的独立危险因素;生后第3、4、5天肠内液体摄入量多(OR=0.671、0.708、0.746,95%CI:0.483~0.932、0.511~0.846、0.583~0.955,P=0.017、0.004、0.020),是极早产儿发生BPD的独立保护因素。④3个BPD亚组极早产儿出生胎龄、孕母产前激素使用率、出生窒息率、EOS发生率及有创机械通气时间,生后第1、2、4、5、6天总液体摄入量及肠外液体静脉输注量,以及生后第1天肠内液体摄入量比较,差异均有统计学意义(均为P<0.05)。但是,这16项因素均不是BPD极早产儿发生Ⅲ度BPD的独立影响因素。结论极早产儿发生BPD是多种因素共同作用的结果,减少出生窒息及EOS发生率,优化呼吸支持策略,增加生后第3~5天肠内液体摄入量,有望降低极早产儿BPD发生率。 展开更多

A new approach was suggested in present work for improving the separation between Pr(Ⅲ) and Nd(Ⅲ)by a so-called kinetic "push and pull" system consisting of [A336][NO3] and DTPA in a column extractor.It is revealed that,when organic extractant [A336][NO3] is continuously pumped into the column extractor in the form of dispersed oil droplets and at the same time DTPA was injected into the aqueous feed solution whet the extraction was just started,the separatiot factor of Pr(Ⅲ) to Nd(Ⅲ),βPr/Nd,increased obviously with the time,and could even achieve 21.7.Such an amazing increase in βPr/Nd value might be due to the extraction rate of Pr(Ⅲ) by [A336][NO3] oil droplets being faster than that of Nd(Ⅲ),while the complexing rate of Nd(Ⅲ) with DTPA in the aqueous solutions being faster than that of Pr(III).The opposite order of the two rates for Pr(Ⅲ) and Nd(Ⅲ) result in their kinetic "push and pull" separation.In contrast,the βPr/Nd value in traditional thermodynamic separation reported in previous literatures is only around 5 or even less,even though using the same extractant [A336][NO3] and DTPA but by previously adding DTPA into the aqueous feed solutions for pre-complexing of Pr(Ⅲ) and Nd(Ⅲ).Various effects from the pH and addition amount of DTPA aqueous solutions,LiNO3 concentrations in initial aqueous feed solutions,the initial concentration ratios of Pr(Ⅲ) to Nd(Ⅲ) ions,the initial pH of aqueous feed solutions,and the concentrations of [A336][NO3] in organic phases,on the kinetic separatiot of Pr(Ⅲ) and Nd(Ⅲ) are discussed.The present work highlights a promising approach for separation of rare earths or other targets with extreme similarity in physicochemical properties. 展开更多

Nerve guidance conduits(NGCs)have attracted much attention due to their great necessity and applicability in clinical use for the peripheral nerve repair.Great efforts in recent years have been devoted to the development of high-performance NGCs using various materials and strategies.The present review provides a comprehensive overview of progress in the material innovation,structural design,advanced engineering technologies and multi functionalization of state-of-the-art nerve guidance conduits NGCs.Abundant advanced engineering technologies including extrusion-based system,laser-based system,and novel textile forming techniques in terms of weaving,knitting,braiding,and electrospinning techniques were also analyzed in detail.Findings arising from this review indicate that the structural mimetic NGCs combined with natural and synthetic materials using advanced manufacturing technologies can make full use of their complementary advantages,acquiring better biomechanical properties,chemical stability and biocompatibility.Finally,the existing challenges and future opportunities of NGCs were put forward aiming for further research and applications of NGCs. 展开更多

The effect of terrain shadow, including the self and cast shadows, is one ofthe main obstacles for accurate retrieval of vegetation parameters byremote sensing in rugged terrains. A shadow- eliminated vegetation index(SEVI) was developed, which was computed from only red and nearinfrared top-of-atmosphere reflectance without other heterogeneous dataand topographic correction. After introduction of the conceptual modeland feature analysis of conventional wavebands, the SEVI was constructedby ratio vegetation index (RVI), shadow vegetation index (SVI) andadjustment factor (f (Δ)). Then three methods were used to validate theSEVI accuracy in elimination of terrain shadow effects, including relativeerror analysis, correlation analysis between the cosine of solar incidenceangle (cosi) and vegetation indices, and comparison analysis between SEVIand conventional vegetation indices with topographic correction. Thevalidation results based on 532 samples showed that the SEVI relativeerrors for self and cast shadows were 4.32% and 1.51% respectively. Thecoefficient of determination between cosi and SEVI was only 0.032 and thecoefficient of variation (std/mean) for SEVI was 12.59%. The results indicatethat the proposed SEVI effectively eliminated the effect of terrain shadowsand achieved similar or better results than conventional vegetation indiceswith topographic correction. 展开更多

In order to improve the damage threshold and enlarge the aperture of a laser beam shaper, photolithographic patterning technology is adopted to design a new type of liquid crystal binary mask. The inherent conductive metal layer of commercial liquid crystal electro-optical spatial light modulators is replaced by azobenzene-based photoalignment layers patterned by noncontact photolithography. Using the azobenzene-based photoalignment layer, a liquid crystal binary mask for beam shaping is fabricated. In addition, the shaping ability, damage threshold, write/erase flexibility and stability of the liquid crystal binary mask are tested. Using a 1 Hz near-IR(1064 nm) laser, the multiple-shot nanosecond damage threshold of the liquid crystal mask is measured to be higher than 15 J/cm^2. The damage threshold of the azobenzenebased photoalignment layer is higher than 50 J/cm^2 under the same testing conditions. 展开更多

Background:Nasal insertion is the preferred method for non-intubated patients in flexible bronchoscopy;however,the relatively narrow nasal cavity results in difficulties related to bronchoscope insertion.This study aimed to investigate whether pre-operative nasal probe tests could reduce the time to pass the glottis,improve the first-pass success rate and patients’tolerance,and reduce postoperative bleeding.Methods:This three-arm prospective randomized controlled trial was conducted in a tertiary hospital between May and October 2020.Three hundred patients requiring diagnosis and treatment using flexible bronchoscopy were randomly allocated to three groups:control group,simple cotton bud detection group(CD group),and adrenaline+lidocaine detection group(AD group).The primary outcome was the time to pass the glottis.Secondary outcomes included the first-pass success rate,the patients’tolerance scores,and post-operative bleeding.One-way analysis of variance,Kruskal-WallisH test,Chi-squared test,Fisher’s exact test,and Bonferroni’s multiple comparison tests were used in this study.Results:In total,189 men and 111 women were enrolled in this study,with a mean age of 55.72±12.86 years.The insertion time was significantly shorter in the AD group than in the control group(18.00 s[12.00–26.50 s]vs.24.00 s[14.50–45.50 s],P=0.005).Both the AD(99%vs.83%,χ2=15.62,P<0.001)and CD groups(94%vs.83%,χ2=5.94,P=0.015)had a significantly higher first-pass success rate than the control group.Compared with the control group,post-operative bleeding(1%vs.13%,χ2=11.06,P<0.001)was significantly lower in the AD group.However,no significant difference was found in the patients’tolerance scores.Conclusions:Pre-operative nasal cavity probe tests especially with adrenaline and lidocaine during flexible bronchoscopy can significantly reduce the time to pass the glottis,improve the first-pass success rate,and reduce post-operative nasal bleeding.Pre-operative nasal probe tests are recommended as a time-saving procedure for patients undergoing flexible bronchoscopy.Trial registration:Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(ChiCTR),ChiCTR2000032668;http://www.chictr.org.cn/showprojen.aspx?proj=53321. 展开更多

Acco rding to the tetrad-effect,14 elements of lanthanides can be divided into four groups.In our previous study,a new approach was proposed for the kinetic separation of four rare earth ions La(Ⅲ),Gd(Ⅲ),Ho(Ⅲ) and Lu(Ⅲ) coming from four groups.In that study,four rare-earth ions were kinetically separated from their coexisting mixed aqueous solutions,by performing liquid-column elution using the aqueous solution containing four lanthanide rare-earth ions as the stationary phase and the dispersed organic oil droplets containing HEHEHP(2-ethyl hexyl phosphonic acid mono 2-ethyl hexyl ester) extractant as the mobile phase.The study of extraction kinetics is very important for understanding the kinetic separation of rare earth ions,which was carried out in this paper.The extraction kinetics of La(Ⅲ),Gd(Ⅲ),Ho(Ⅲ) and Lu(Ⅲ) by HEHEHP diluted in heptane were investigated using single drop method.The different parameters affecting the extraction rate such as column length,specific interfacial area,rare earth ion concentration,extractant concentration,hydrogen ion concentration and temperature were separately studied and the rate equations are deduced.It is first order with respect to rare earth ion and HEHEHP concentrations,and negative first order with respect to hydrogen ion concentrations.The rate constants at 293.15 K are 10-6.23,10-5.73,10-5.58 and 10-5.43,respectively.The experimental results demonstrate that the extraction rate of La(Ⅲ), Gd(Ⅲ),Ho(Ⅲ) or Lu(Ⅲ) is diffusion-controlled,and the extraction reaction takes place at the interface rather than in the bulk phase.The extraction model was proposed.Besides,the kinetic separation of rare earth ions by HEHEHP oil drops was discussed. 展开更多
