Heart injury such as myocardial infarction leads to cardiomyocyte loss, fibrotic tissue deposition, and scar formation. These changes reduce cardiac contractility, resulting in heart failure, which causes a huge public health burden.Military personnel, compared with civilians,is exposed to more stress,a risk factor for heart diseases, making cardiovascular health management and treatment innovation an important topic for military medicine. So far, medical intervention can slow down cardiovascular disease progression, but not yet induce heart regeneration. In the past decades, studies have focused on mechanisms underlying the regenerative capability of the heart and applicable approaches to reverse heart injury.Insights have emerged from studies in animal models and early clinical trials.Clinical interventions show the potential to reduce scar formation and enhance cardiomyocyte proliferation that counteracts the pathogenesis of heart disease. In this review,we discuss the signaling events controlling the regeneration of heart tissue and summarize current therapeutic approaches to promote heart regeneration after injury. 展开更多

Cardiovascular diseases(CVD)are the leading cause of death in the world and one of the most common diseases in the elderly, with high prevalence and poor prognosis, which seriously affect the health of the elder patients. One report showed that global deaths from CVD increased from 12.4 million in 1990 to 19.8 million in 2022,reflecting the global population growth and aging,as well as the impact of metabolic, environmental, and behavioral risks.[1]With the progress of aging population, the burden of CVD in the elderly in China has increased year by year, and factors including multiple complications, organ function decline, and high complication rate have made the interventional treatment of CVD in the elderly one of the difficulties and focuses in the field of cardiology in China. 展开更多

Administration of iodinated contrast agents can give rise to allergic/hypersensitivity reactions and contrast-induced nephropathy. In extremely rare cases, intravascularly administered iodinated contrast agents can trigger contrast-induced encephalopathy(CIE)in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).[1]Here,we describe the case of a male patient diagnosed with CIE after undergoing PCI with a non-ionic contrast agent, iodixanol. This is the first such case to be reported in a patient undergoing hemodialysis after kidney transplantation. 展开更多

Excimer laser coronary angioplasty(ELCA)modifies atherosclerotic plaques through its photochemical, photothermal and photodynamic characteristics, while making up for the limitations of intimal disassembly and restenosis of balloon angioplasty without causing significant damage. The American Food and Drug Administration approved of the first clinical application of ELCA in 1992.Since then,ELCA has been used as an adjunct therapy in the treatment of various subsets of coronary artery lesions.ELCA considered to be a relatively safe and effective technique for coronary lesions when routine angioplasty is technically insufficient. 展开更多
