Acupuncture for cervical dystonia associated with anxiety and depression: A case report

BACKGROUND Cervical dystonia(CD)is a type of muscle tone disorder that usually occurs in the neck muscles.Due to the intermittent or continuous involuntary contraction of the neck muscles,the head and neck are twisted and skewed and some postural abnormalities occur.Long-term abnormal posture or pain can cause negative emotions in patients,which can affect their quality of life.CASE SUMMARY This case report included a 37-year-old woman who was diagnosed with CD associated with anxiety and depression;the accompanying symptoms were head and neck tilt of approximately 90°to the right and mental abnormality.After two courses of acupuncture treatment,the patient’s head and neck can be maintained in a normal position,and the negative emotions can be relieved.CONCLUSION This case indicates that acupuncture can effectively improve CD and the emotional state and quality of life of patients,making it an effective alternative treatment for the condition. 展开更多

Measurement of remanent magnetic moment using a torsion pendulum with single frequency modulation method

In Tian Qin spaceborne gravitational-wave detectors, the stringent requirements on the magnetic cleanliness of the test masses demand the high resolution ground-based characterization measurement of their magnetic properties. Here we present a single frequency modulation method based on a torsion pendulum to measure the remanent magnetic moment mr of 1.1 kg dummy copper test mass, and the measurement result is(6.45 ± 0.04(stat) ± 0.07(syst)) × 10^(-8)A · m^(2). The measurement precision of the mr is about 0.9 n A · m^(2), well below the present measurement requirement of Tian Qin. The method is particularly useful for measuring extremely low magnetic properties of the materials for use in the construction of space-borne gravitational wave detection and other precision scientific apparatus. 展开更多

Objective:This study protocol identifies the basic research route and framework of psychological and behavioral surveys among Chinese residents,aims establishing a database through a multicenter,large-sample cross-sectional survey in China to provide strong data support for research development in various fields and a more comprehensive and systematic understanding of the physical and mental health status of the public.Method:The study was conducted from June 20,2022 to August 31,2022,using stratified sampling and quota sampling methods,a total of 148 cities,202 districts and counties,390 townships/towns/sub-districts,and 780 communities/villages(excluding Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan)from 23 provinces,5 autonomous regions,and 4 municipalities directly under the central government in China were selected.The questionnaire was distributed one-on-one and face-to-face to the public by trained investigators,and the questionnaire included eight aspects:personal basic information,personal health status,family basic information,social environment in which they were located,psychological level scale,behavioral level scale,other scales,and attitude towards social hot issues.Data analysis will be performed after questionnaire return.Results:Data collection is ongoing.These findings will support physical and mental health research and strategy development in China and even globally,guiding policy-makers and health care organizations to reform their programs to ensure the best interests of residents and their families. 展开更多

Photoexcited Blueshift and Redshift Switchable Metamaterial Absorber at Terahertz Frequencies

We propose a design and numerical study of an optically blueshift and redshift switchable metamaterial(MM)absorber in the terahertz regime.The MM absorber comprises a periodic array of metallic split-ring resonators(SRRs)with semiconductor silicon embedded in the gaps of MM resonators.The absorptive frequencies of the MM can be shifted by applying an external pump power.The simulation results show that,for photoconductivity of silicon ranging between 1 S/m and 4000 S/m,the resonance peak of the absorption spectra shifts to higher frequencies,from 0.67 THz to 1.63 THz,with a resonance tuning range of 59%.As the conductivity of silicon increases,the resonance frequencies of the MM absorber are continuously tuned from 1.60 THz to 1.16 THz,a redshift tuning range of 28%.As the conductivity increases above 30000 S/m,the resonance frequencies tend to be stable while the absorption peak has a merely tiny variation.The optical-tuned absorber has potential applications as a terahertz modulator or switch. 展开更多

本文通过恒电流沉积法在柔性覆铜基板上制备了具有纳米锥阵列结构的黑色镍层,制备的纳米锥镍的底部约为200 nm,高度约为1μm,且大小均一,分布致密。本文探讨了镍电沉积中电流密度和主盐浓度对纳米锥镍结构形貌的影响,结果表明低电流密... 本文通过恒电流沉积法在柔性覆铜基板上制备了具有纳米锥阵列结构的黑色镍层,制备的纳米锥镍的底部约为200 nm,高度约为1μm,且大小均一,分布致密。本文探讨了镍电沉积中电流密度和主盐浓度对纳米锥镍结构形貌的影响,结果表明低电流密度和高主盐浓度有利于纳米锥镍的形成。电沉积过程中保持镍离子的供应充足是锥镍结构产生的关键因素之一,而高电流密度会影响镍离子浓度的浓差极化,从而影响锥镍的成核过程。温度、主盐浓度以及结晶调整剂的变化会导致镍颗粒的形貌发生圆包状和针锥状结构的相互转化。温度升高具有一定的细化晶粒作用,锥镍结构需要在大于50oC的条件下生成。结晶调整剂能够改变沉积过程中的晶面择优生长,且可以调控镍晶粒的形貌,使得生成的锥结构分布均匀,颗粒细致。结果表明,在4.0 mol·L-1NH4Cl和1.68mol·L-1Ni Cl2·6H2O体系中沉积出分布均匀的纳米锥镍阵列结构。本文利用氯化铵作为纳米锥镍的晶体改性剂,通过分子动力学模拟理论上分析了NH4+在镍表面的吸附过程。计算结果表明镍不同晶面上NH4+吸附能的差异引起各晶面镍沉积速率的差异,从而导致纳米锥镍阵列的形成。本文呢进一步结合形貌表征,提出了纳米锥镍阵列的电沉积生长的两步生长机理,包括前期的成核生长和后期的核生长过程,前期成核过程为优势生长,生成大量的晶核,为锥镍的生长提供了生长位点,而后期的核生长过程表现为锥状镍核的择优生长,最终形成完整均匀的锥镍阵列结构。本文制备的纳米锥镍结构还具有优异的亲水性和良好的吸光效果,对于近紫外和可见光的吸收率大于95%,具有较好的应用前景。 展开更多

Effectiveness of resilience-promoting interventions in adolescents with diabetes mellitus:a systematic review and meta-analysis

Background This study aimed to analyze the efficacy of resilience-promoting interventions among adolescents and youth aged 10-24 years with any type of diabetes.Methods A systematic literature search was performed using the PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,Cochrane Library,CINAHL,and PsycINFO databases from inception to May 25,2022.The Cochrane risk of bias tool(version 2)was used to assess the quality of the included studies.A meta-analysis was performed to calculate the pooled effects of resilience-promoting interventions.Results Nineteen articles were included covering an overall sample of 2048 adolescents with diabetes.When analyzing the effectiveness of resilience-promoting interventions,hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)at six months[mean difference=-0.47,95%confidence interval(CI)=-0.83 to-0.12,P=0.009]after the intervention was improved.However,long-term(≥12 months)improvement in HbA1c was not significant.In addition,comparing the control group,there were significant differences in the effect size for stress[standardized mean difference(SMD)=-0.87,95%CI=-1.25 to-0.48,P<0.05],self-efficacy(SMD=0.50,95%CI=0.02-0.98,P=0.04)and quality of life(SMD=0.27,95%CI=0.03-0.51,P=0.03).Conclusions Resilience-promoting intervention is a promising way for adolescent diabetes management to improve HbA1c,stress,self-efficacy,and quality of life.Incorporating resilience-promoting components into diabetes education and re-enforcing these contents every six months are recommended for implementation in clinical practice. 展开更多

Program synthesis is an exciting topic that desires to generate programs satisfying user intent automatically. But in most cases, only small programs for simple or domain-specific tasks can be synthesized. The major obstacle of synthesis lies in the huge search space. A common practice in addressing this problem is using a domain-specific language, while many approaches still wish to synthesize programs in general programming languages. With the rapid growth of reusable libraries, component-based synthesis provides a promising way, such as synthesizing Java programs which are only composed of APIs (application programming interfaces). However, the efficiency of searching for proper solutions for complex tasks is still a challenge. Given an unfamiliar programming task, programmers would search for API usage knowledge from various coding resources to reduce the search space. Considering this, we propose a novel approach named ProSy to synthesize API-based programs in Java. The key novelty is to retrieve related knowledge from Javadoc and Stack Overflow and then construct a probabilistic reachability graph. It assigns higher probabilities to APIs that are more likely to be used in implementing the given task. In the synthesis process, the program sketch with a higher probability will be considered first;thus, the number of explored reachable paths would be decreased. Some extension and optimization strategies are further studied in the paper. We implement our approach and conduct several experiments on it. We compare ProSy with SyPet and other state-of-the-art API-based synthesis approaches. The experimental results show that ProSy reduces the synthesis time of SyPet by up to 80%. 展开更多
