Due to the strong electromagnetic interferences and human interference, traditional electromagnetic methods cannot obtain high quality resistivity data of mineral deposits in Chinese mines. The wide field electromagnetic method(WFEM),in which the pseudo-random signal is taken as the transmitter source, can extract high quality resistivity data in areas with sever interference by only measuring the electric field component. We use the WFEM to extract the resistivity information of the Dongguashan mine in southeast China.Compared with the audio magnetotelluric(AMT)method, and the controlled source audio-frequency magnetotelluric(CSAMT) method, the WFEM can obtain data with higher quality and simpler operations. The inversion results indicate that the WFEM can accurately identify the location of the main ore-body,which can be used for deep mine exploration in areas with strong interference. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Osteoporosis is a systemic bone disease characterized by decreased bone mass, impaired bone mass, and reduced bone strength that leads to increased bone fragility and fracture.Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with osteoporosis is a common systemic metabolic bone disease, and reduced bone mass and bone strength are considered the main clinical features;however, the pathogenesis of this disease has not been fully clarified. Its occurrence is considered related to sex, age, and genetic factors. There are many risk factors for diabetes complicated with osteoporosis. Therefore, exploring these risk factors will help prevent it.AIM To investigate the relationships among serum glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1)levels,matrix Gla protein(MGP)levels, and diabetes with osteoporosis.METHODS Sixty patients with T2DM complicated with osteoporosis confirmed by the endocrinology department of our hospital were selected as the case group.Sixty T2DM patients with bone loss were selected as the control group.Sixty healthy participants were selected as the healthy group. The general data, bone mineral density index, and bone metabolic markers of the three groups were compared. The relationships among GLP-1 levels,MGP levels, and the bone mineral density index of the case group were analyzed using linear correlation analysis and a logistic regression model.RESULTS Differences in sex, smoking, and drinking among the case group, control group, and healthy group were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The mean age of the case group was older than those of the control and healthy groups(P<0.05).The body mass index, fasting plasma glucose level,HbA1c level, hypertension rate, and coronary heart disease rate of the case and control groups were higher than those of the healthy group(P<0.05).The serum GLP-1 and MGP levels of the case group were lower than those of the control and healthy groups;these differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The serum GLP-1 and MGP levels of the control group were lower than those of the healthy group;these differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The serum GLP-1 and MGP levels of the case group were significantly positively correlated with the bone mineral density values of the hip and lumbar spine(P<0.05).The results of the logistic regression model showed that age and duration of diabetes were independent risk factors for osteoporosis in diabetic patients(P<0.05)and that increased GLP-1 and MGP values were protective factors against osteoporosis in diabetic patients(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Serum GLP-1 and MGP levels of diabetic patients with osteoporosis were significantly decreased and positively correlated with bone mineral density and were independent risk factors for osteoporosis in diabetic patients. 展开更多

A novel method for source effect correction based on integral equation method is proposed.By taking the electrical horizontal field Ex of current source as an example, the correction method is validated using both simulated data and field data. The results show that the correction method is feasible and effective for isotropic media. When the field data are processed, the correction method normalizes the sources with different geological structures, which eliminates the geological difference among sources, and retains the geological difference among receivers. The correction results are in line with the expectation in whole. 展开更多

Gold nanoparticles(Au NPs)are nanoscale sources of light and electrons, which are highly relevant for their extensive applications in the field of photocatalysis.Although a number of research works have been carried out on chemical reactions accelerated by the energetic hot electrons/holes,the possibility of reaction pathway change on the plasmonic Au surfaces has not been reported so far.In this proof-ofconcept study,we find that Au NPs change the reaction pathway in photooxidation of alkyne under visible light irradiation. This reaction produces benzil(—CO—CO—)without the presence of Au NPs.In contrast,as indicated by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopic(SERS)results, the C—C triple bonds(—C≡C—)adsorbed on Au NPs are converted into carboxyl(—COOH)and acyl chloride(—COCl)groups. The plasmonic Au NPs not only provide energetic charge carriers but also activate the reactant molecules as conventional heterogeneous catalysts. This study discloses the second role of plasmonic NPs in photocatalysis and bridges the gap between plasmon-driven and conventional heterogeneous catalysis. 展开更多
