The discharge channel is a crucial diagnostic tool for identifying the properties of gas switches.However,single-view images cannot easily be used to inherently understand the discharge channel characteristics of trig...The discharge channel is a crucial diagnostic tool for identifying the properties of gas switches.However,single-view images cannot easily be used to inherently understand the discharge channel characteristics of trigger electrodes.A reconstruction method of the discharge channel in gas switches is proposed based on a multi-axis tomography technique,which uses very few projections of optical images to reconstruct the location of a multichannel discharge in annular electrodes.In this paper,an algorithm named TVM-OSEM(total variation minimization ordered subsets expectation maximization)is proposed,which can effectively remove artifact noise to improve the reconstruction accuracy of discharge channels.The method is validated against simulations of a radiator with high-density-difference boundary.The calculated discharge channel distribution from one experiment is presented.展开更多
The influence of solid particles size,density and loading on the critical gas-inducing impeller speed was investigated in a gas–liquid–solid stirring tank equipped with a hollow Rushton impeller.Three types of solid...The influence of solid particles size,density and loading on the critical gas-inducing impeller speed was investigated in a gas–liquid–solid stirring tank equipped with a hollow Rushton impeller.Three types of solid particles,hollow glass beads with diameters of 300 μm,200 μm,100 μm,and 60 μm,silica gel and desalting resin,were used.It was found that the adding solid particles would change the critical impeller speed.For hollow glass beads and silica gel,whose relative densities were less than or equal to 1.5,the critical impeller speeds increased with the solid loading before reaching the maximum values,and then decreased to a value even lower than that without added solids.The size of the solids also had apparent influence on the critical impeller speed,and larger solid particles correspond to a smaller critical impeller speed.The experimental data also showed that the gasinducing was beneficial to the suspension of the solid particles.展开更多

In the present study, we investigat...Background: A leptin-like immunoreactive substance has been found in chicken eggs and has been implicated in serving as a maternal signal to program offspring growth and metabolism. In the present study, we investigated the effects of in ovo leptin administration on hatch weight, serum and hepatic concentrations of metabolites and hormones, as well as on the expression of genes involved in hepatic lipid metabolism and the predicted microRNAs (miRNAs) targeting the affected genes. To this end we injected fertile eggs with either 0.5 μg of recombinant murine leptin or vehicle (PBS) before incubation. Results: Prenatally leptin-exposed chicks showed lower hatch weight, but higher liver weight relative to the body weight, compared to the control group. In ovo leptin treatment increased the hepatic content and serum concentration of leptin in newly hatched chickens. The hepatic contents of triglycerides (TG) and total cholesterol (Tch) were decreased, whereas the serum levels of TG, Tch and apolipoprotein B (ApoB) were increased. The hepatic mRNA expression of sterol regulator element binding protein 1 (SREBP-1c), SREBP-2, hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase (HMGCR) and cholesterol 7α-hydroxylase 1 (CYP7A1) was significantly up-regulated, as was the protein content of both SREBP-1c and SREBP-2 in hepatic nuclear extracts of leptin-treated chickens. Moreover, out of 12 miRNAs targeting SREBP-1c and/or HMGCR, five were significantly up-regulated in liver of leptin-treated chicks, including gga-miR-200b and gga-miR-429, which target both SREBP-1c and HMGCR. Conclusions: These results suggest that leptin in ovo decreases hatch weight, and modifies hepatic leptin secretion and lipid metabolism in newly hatched broiler chickens, possibly via microRNA-mediated gene regulation.展开更多
Objective: In order to provide a theoretical basis for the revision of the current diagnostic criteria for occupational noise-induced deafness (ONID), we evaluated the degree of ONID by analyzing different high-freque...Objective: In order to provide a theoretical basis for the revision of the current diagnostic criteria for occupational noise-induced deafness (ONID), we evaluated the degree of ONID by analyzing different high-frequency-hearing- threshold-weighted values (HFTWVs). Methods: A retrospective study was conducted to evaluate the diagnosis of patients with ONID from January 2016 to January 2017 in Guangdong province, China. Based on 3 hearing tests (each interval between the tests was greater than 3 days), the minimum threshold value of each frequency was obtained using the 2007 edition’s diagnostic criteria for ONID. The speech frequency and the HFTWVs were analyzed based on age, noise exposure, and diagnostic classi-fication using SPSS21.0. Results: 168 patients in total were involved in this study, 154 males and 14 females, and the average age was 41.18 ± 6.07. The diagnosis rate was increased by the weighted value of the high frequencies and was more than the mean value of the pure speech frequency (MVPSF). The diagnosis rate for the weighted 4 kHz frequency level increased by 13.69% (χ2 = 9.880, P = 0.002), the weighted 6 kHz level increased by 15.47% (χ2 = 9.985, P = 0.002), and the weighted 4 kHz + 6 kHz level increased by 15.47% (χ2 = 9.985, P = 0.002). The differences were all statistically significant. The diagnostic rate of the different thresholds showed no obvious difference between the genders. The age groups were divided into less than or equal to 40 years old (group A) and 40 - 50 years old (group B). There were several groups with a high frequency: high frequency weighted 4 kHz ( group A χ2 = 3.380, P = 0.050;group B χ2 = 4.054, P = 0.032), high frequency weighted 6 kHz (group A χ2 = 6.362, P = 0.012;group B χ2 = 4.054, P = 0.032), weighted 4 kHz + 6 kHz (group A χ2 = 6.362 P = 0.012;B χ2 = 4.054, P = 0.032) than those of MVPSF in the same group on ONID diagnosis rate. The differences between the groups were statistically significant. There was no significant difference between the age groups (χ2 = 2.265, P = 0.944). The better ear’s (the smaller hearing threshold weighted value) MVPSF and the weighted values for the different high frequencies were examined in light of the number of working years;the group that was exposed to noise for more than 10 years had significantly higher values than those of the average thresholds of each frequency band in the groups with 3 - 5 years of exposure (F = 2.271, P = 0.001) and 6 - 10 years of exposure (F = 1.563, P = 0.046). The differences were statistically significant. The different HFTWVs were higher than those of the MVPSF values, and the high frequency weighted 4 kHz + 6 kHz level showed the greatest difference, with an average increase of 2.83 dB. The diagnostic rate that included the weighted high frequency values was higher for the mild, moderate, and severe cases than those patients who were only screened with the pure frequency tests. The results of the comparisons of the diagnosis rates for mild ONID were as follows: the weighted 3 kHz high frequency level (χ2 = 3.117, P = 0.077) had no significant difference, but the weighted 4 kHz level (χ2 = 10.835, P = 0.001), 6 kHz level (χ2 = 9.985, P = 0.002), 3 kHz + 4 kHz level (χ2 = 6.315, P = 0.012), 3 kHz + 6 kHz level (χ2 = 6.315, P = 0.012), 4 kHz + 6 kHz level (χ2 = 9.985, P = 0.002), and 3 kHz + 4 kHz + 6 kHz level (χ2 = 7.667, P = 0.002) were significantly higher than the diagnosis rate of the mean value of the PSF. There was no significant difference between the 2 groups for the moderate and severe grades (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Different HFTWVs increase the diagnostic rate of ONID. The weighted 4 kHz, 6 kHz, and 4 kHz + 6 kHz high frequency values greatly affected the diagnostic results, and the weighted 4 kHz + 6 kHz high frequency hearing threshold value has the maximum the effect on the ONID diagnosis results.展开更多
Objective To discuss the value of partial hepatectomy in patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma.Methods English articles related to hilar cholangiocarcinoma were screened from January 1,1990 to May 12,2019 in the Pub ...Objective To discuss the value of partial hepatectomy in patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma.Methods English articles related to hilar cholangiocarcinoma were screened from January 1,1990 to May 12,2019 in the Pub Med,MEDLINE,EMBASE,and Cochrane Library databases.Information on postoperative radical cure,survival,morbidity,and mortality after surgery were extracted from articles that met the inclusion criteria for the meta-analysis.Results Twenty-two articles that met the inclusion criteria were classified into 4 study groups: the hepatectomy radical cure group(19 articles),the hepatectomy survival group(16 articles),the hepatectomy morbidity group(9 articles),and the hepatectomy mortality group(17 articles).We found that the rate of radical cure after partial hepatectomy(odds ratio [OR] 0.32,95% confidence interval [CI] 0.20-0.51) and the survival rate(hazard ratio [HR] 0.67,95% CI 0.58-0.79) were significantly higher than after simple bile duct resection,but that morbidity(OR 1.99,95% CI 1.37-2.90) and mortality(OR 2.71,95% CI 1.47-4.98) in patients within the partial hepatectomy group were also higher than in the simple bile duct resection group,taking into account the significant heterogeneity in the articles pertaining to the hepatectomy radical cure group(I^2=68.3%,P=0.000),a sub-group analysis was subsequently conducted.Its results showed that when the branches of the secondary bile ducts were not involved during hilar cholangiocarcinoma,then a bile duct resection had a similar radical cure outcome as combined partial hepatectomy(OR 0.94,95% CI 0.54-1.65).Conclusion Partial hepatectomy can increase the proportion of radical cure in patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma and extend the survival time after surgery.However,the morbidity and mortality after surgery are higher than those in simple bile duct resections.Therefore,simple bile duct resection is still a relevant and efficient tool in the treatment of Bismuth-Corlette Type Ⅰ and Ⅱ hilar cholangiocarcinomas.展开更多

In this work,boron(B)was used to promote Fe^(3+)/peracetic acid(Fe^(3+)/PAA)for the degradation of sulfamethazine(SMT).An SMT degradation efficiency of 9.1%was observed in the Fe^(3+)/PAA system over 60 min,which was ...In this work,boron(B)was used to promote Fe^(3+)/peracetic acid(Fe^(3+)/PAA)for the degradation of sulfamethazine(SMT).An SMT degradation efficiency of 9.1%was observed in the Fe^(3+)/PAA system over 60 min,which was significantly increased to 99.3%in the B/Fe^(3+)/PAA system over 10 min.The B/Fe^(3+)/PAA process also exhibited superior resistance to natural substances,excellent adaptability to different harmful substances,and good removal of antibiotics in natural fresh water samples.The mechanism of action of boron for Fe^(3+)reduction was determined using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopy,density functional theory(DFT)calculations,and electrochemical tests.The dominant role of^(·)OH was confirmed using quenching experiments,electron spin resonance(EPR)spectroscopy,and quantitative tests.Organic radicals(R-O^(·))and Fe(IV)also significantly contribute to the removal of SMT.DFT calculations on the reaction between Fe^(2+)and the PAA were conducted to further determine the contribution from ^(·)OH,R-O^(·),and Fe(IV)from the perspective of thermodynamics and the reaction pathways.Different boron dosages,Fe^(3+)dosages,and initial pH values were also investigated in the B/Fe^(3+)/PAA system to study their effect of SMT removal and the production of the reactive species.Fe(IV)production determined the k_(R-O·+Fe(IV))value suggesting that Fe(IV)may play a more important role than R-O^(·).A comparison of the results with other processes has also proved that the procedure described in this study(B/Fe^(3+)/PAA)is an effective method for the degradation of antibiotics.展开更多

Owing to ...Multiaxial neutron/x-ray imaging and three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction techniques play a crucial role in gaining valuable insights intothe generation and evolution mechanisms of pulsed radiation sources. Owing to the short emission time (∼200 ns) and drastic changes of thepulsed radiation source, it is necessary to acquire projection data within a few nanoseconds in order to achieve clear computed tomography3D imaging. As a consequence, projection data that can be used for computed tomography image reconstruction at a certain moment are oftenavailable for only a few angles. Traditional algorithms employed in the process of reconstructing 3D images with extremely incomplete datamay introduce significant distortions and artifacts into the final image. In this paper, we propose an iterative image reconstruction methodusing cylindrical harmonic decomposition and a self-supervised denoising network algorithm based on the deep image prior method. Weaugment the prior information with a 2D total variation prior and a 3D deep image prior. Single-wire Z-pinch imaging experiments have beencarried out at Qin-1 facility in five views and four frames, with a time resolution of 3 ns for each frame and a time interval of 40 ns betweenadjacent frames. Both numerical simulations and experiments verify that our proposed algorithm can achieve high-quality reconstructionresults and obtain the 3D intensity distribution and evolution of extreme ultraviolet and soft x-ray emission from plasma.展开更多

Several viruses, including hepatitis C virus (HCV), have developed strategies to evade the NK-cell response....Natural killer (NK) cells are a major component of the host innate immune defense against various pathogens. Several viruses, including hepatitis C virus (HCV), have developed strategies to evade the NK-cell response. In our study, we found HCV infection could trigger DNA damage response by both ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) and ATM- and Rad3-related (ATR) pathways. Recent reports had revealed that NKG2D ligands (NK cell-activating ligands) were upregulated when a major DNA damage checkpoint pathway was activated. However, here we found that DNA damage response was activated but NKG2D ligands were downregulated upon HCV infection. Further studies showed that the protease NS3/4A of HCV which had been shown relation with immune invasion contributed to the reduced expression of NKG2D ligands. These findings provide a novel insight into the mechanisms evolved by HCV to escape from the NK cell response.展开更多
OBJECTIVE:This study was designed to develop a disease-specific health-related quality of life(HR-QOL) measure for patients with post-stroke spasticity.METHODS:Based on responses from 20 patients with post-stroke spas...OBJECTIVE:This study was designed to develop a disease-specific health-related quality of life(HR-QOL) measure for patients with post-stroke spasticity.METHODS:Based on responses from 20 patients with post-stroke spasticity and an extensive literature search,items potentially used to measure these patients' recovery status were identified and the Apoplexy Spastic-Paralysis Questionnaire(ASPQ) was formed.A sample of 106 patients was then tested twice using the ASPQ,the Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS) and the Stroke-specific Quality of Life(SS-QOL).Clinicians also examined all the patients using the Ashworth Scale(AS).Internal reliability was assessed using Cronbach's coefficient α,while construct validity was determined using principal component analysis(PCA).Empirical validity was evaluated between patients with depression and those without depression by single factor analysis.Sensitivity was examined by calculating the Spearman correlation coefficient between the changes in scores of the ASPQ,the AS and the SS-QOL.RESULTS:The ASPQ had adequate internal consistency reliability(α=0.874) and sensitivity,with significant correlations between the changes in scores of the AS,the SS-QOL and the ASPQ,with three domains.In a construct validity test,six factors were extracted;the overall variance explained by all factors was 72.6%.For empirical validity,mean values of 19 items and 3 domains were all higher in the depressive patients than in the non-depressive patients.CONCLUSION:The ASPQ is a reliable and valid self-rating scale for measuring the HR-QOL in patients with post-stroke spasticity.展开更多

In this work, we demonstrate that oxygen intercalation and desorption occur at the interface between hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN) overlayer and Pt(111) surface by using near-ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(NAP-XPS), photoemission electron microscopy, and low-energy electron microscopy.Furthermore, CO oxidation under the h-BN cover was also observed by NAP-XPS. The present results indicate that the nanospace under the 2D cover can be used for surface reactions, in which novel surface chemistry may be induced by the nanoconfinement effect.展开更多

A self-synthesized bi-pyridine chelating resin(PAPY)could separate Cu(Ⅱ)/Ni(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅱ)sequentially from strong-acidic pickling wastewater by a two-stage p H-adjusted process,in which Cu(Ⅱ),Ni(Ⅱ),and Fe(Ⅱ)were succ...A self-synthesized bi-pyridine chelating resin(PAPY)could separate Cu(Ⅱ)/Ni(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅱ)sequentially from strong-acidic pickling wastewater by a two-stage p H-adjusted process,in which Cu(Ⅱ),Ni(Ⅱ),and Fe(Ⅱ)were successively preferred by PAPY.In the first stage(p H 1.0),the separation factor of Cu(Ⅱ)over Ni(Ⅱ)reached 61.43 in Cu(Ⅱ)-Ni(Ⅱ)-Fe(Ⅱ)systems.In the second stage(p H 2.0),the separation factor of Ni(Ⅱ)over Fe(Ⅱ)reached 92.82 in Ni(Ⅱ)-Fe(Ⅱ)systems.Emphasis was placed on the selective separation of Cu(Ⅱ)and Ni(Ⅱ)in the first-stage.The adsorption amounts of Cu(Ⅱ)onto PAPY were 1.2 mmol/g in the first stage,while those of Ni(Ⅱ)and Fe(Ⅱ)were lower than 0.3 mmol/g.Cu(Ⅱ)adsorption was hardly affected by Ni(Ⅱ)with the presence of dense Fe(Ⅱ),but Cu(Ⅱ)inhibited Ni(Ⅱ)adsorption strongly.Part of preloaded Ni(Ⅱ)could be replaced by Cu(Ⅱ)based on the replacement effect.Compared with the absence of Fe(Ⅱ),dense Fe(Ⅱ)could obviously enhance the separation of Cu(Ⅱ)-Ni(Ⅱ).More than 95.0%of Cu(Ⅱ)could be removed in the former 240 BV(BV for bed volume of the adsorbent)in the fixed-bed adsorption column process with the flow rate of 2.5 BV/h.As proved by X-ray photoelectron spectrometry(XPS)and density functional theory(DFT)analyses,Cu(Ⅱ)exerted a much stronger deprotonation and chelation ability toward PAPY than Ni(Ⅱ)and Fe(Ⅱ).Thus,the work shows a great potential in the separation and purification of heavy metal resources from strong-acidic pickling wastewaters.展开更多

Few fishes have evolved elevated body temperatures compared with ambient temperatures,and only in opah(Lampris spp)is the entire body affected.To understand the molecular basis of endothermy,we analyzed the opah genom...Few fishes have evolved elevated body temperatures compared with ambient temperatures,and only in opah(Lampris spp)is the entire body affected.To understand the molecular basis of endothermy,we analyzed the opah genome and identified 23 genes with convergent amino acid substitutions across fish,birds,and mammals,including slc8b1,which encodes the mitochondrial Na+/Ca2+exchanger and is essential for heart function andmetabolic heat production.Among endothermic fishes,44 convergent genes with suggestive metabolic functions were identified,such as glrx3,encoding a crucial protein for hemoglobin maturation.Numerous genes involved in the production and retention of metabolic heat were also found to be under positive selection.Analyses of opah’s unique inner-heat-producing pectoral muscle layer(PMI),an evolutionary key innovation,revealed that many proteins were co-opted from dorsal swimming muscles for thermogenesis and oxidative phosphorylation.Thus,the opah genome provides valuable resources and opportunities to uncover the genetic basis of thermal adaptations in fish.展开更多
Partial liver resection is an established treatment for hepatic disorders.However,surgical bleeding,intra-abdominal adhesion and rapid liver regeneration are still major challenges after partial liver resection,associ...Partial liver resection is an established treatment for hepatic disorders.However,surgical bleeding,intra-abdominal adhesion and rapid liver regeneration are still major challenges after partial liver resection,associated with morbidity and mortality.Herein,a biomimetic hybrid hydrogel,composed of oxidized hyaluronic acid,glycol chitosan and MenSCs-derived conditioned medium(CM),is presented to address these issues.The hybrid hydrogel is formed through reversible Schiff base,and possesses injectability and self-healing capability.Moreover,hybrid hydrogel exhibits the capabilities of hemostasis,anti-infection,tissue adhesion and controllable release of cargoes.Based on in vivo studies of the multifunctional hybrid hydrogel,it is demonstrated that acute bleeding in partial liver resection can be ceased immediately by virtue of the hemostasis features of hybrid hydrogel.Also,a significant reduction of intra-abdominal adhesion is confirmed in hybrid hydrogel-treated resection surface.Furthermore,upon the treatment of hybrid hydrogel,hepatic cell proliferation and tissue regeneration can be significantly improved due to the controllably released cytokines from MenSCs-derived CM,exerting the effects of mitogenesis and anti-inflammation in vivo.Thus,the biomimetic hybrid hydrogel can be a promising candidate with great potential for application in partial liver resection.展开更多
Seahorses are a hallmark of specialized morphological features due to their elongated prehensile tail.However,the underlying genomic grounds of seahorse tail development remain elusive.Herein,we evaluated the roles of...Seahorses are a hallmark of specialized morphological features due to their elongated prehensile tail.However,the underlying genomic grounds of seahorse tail development remain elusive.Herein,we evaluated the roles of essential genes from the Wnt gene family for the tail developmental process in the lined seahorse(Hippocampus erectus).Comparative genomic analysis revealed that the Wnt gene family is conserved in seahorses.The expression profiles and in situ hybridization suggested that Wnt5a,Wnt8a,and Wnt11 may participate in seahorse tail development.Like in other teleosts,Wnt5a and Wntll were found to regulate the development of the tail axial mesoderm and tail somitic mesoderm,respectively.However,a significantly extended expression period of Wnt8a during seahorse tail development was observed.Signaling pathway analysis further showed that Wnt5a up-regulated the expression of the tail axial mesoderm gene(Shh),while interaction analysis indicated that Wnt8a could promote the expression of Wntll.In summary,our results indicate that the special extended expression period of Wnt8a might promote caudal tail axis formation,which contributes to the formation of the elongated tail of the seahorse.展开更多

文摘The discharge channel is a crucial diagnostic tool for identifying the properties of gas switches.However,single-view images cannot easily be used to inherently understand the discharge channel characteristics of trigger electrodes.A reconstruction method of the discharge channel in gas switches is proposed based on a multi-axis tomography technique,which uses very few projections of optical images to reconstruct the location of a multichannel discharge in annular electrodes.In this paper,an algorithm named TVM-OSEM(total variation minimization ordered subsets expectation maximization)is proposed,which can effectively remove artifact noise to improve the reconstruction accuracy of discharge channels.The method is validated against simulations of a radiator with high-density-difference boundary.The calculated discharge channel distribution from one experiment is presented.

文摘The influence of solid particles size,density and loading on the critical gas-inducing impeller speed was investigated in a gas–liquid–solid stirring tank equipped with a hollow Rushton impeller.Three types of solid particles,hollow glass beads with diameters of 300 μm,200 μm,100 μm,and 60 μm,silica gel and desalting resin,were used.It was found that the adding solid particles would change the critical impeller speed.For hollow glass beads and silica gel,whose relative densities were less than or equal to 1.5,the critical impeller speeds increased with the solid loading before reaching the maximum values,and then decreased to a value even lower than that without added solids.The size of the solids also had apparent influence on the critical impeller speed,and larger solid particles correspond to a smaller critical impeller speed.The experimental data also showed that the gasinducing was beneficial to the suspension of the solid particles.

文摘Background: A leptin-like immunoreactive substance has been found in chicken eggs and has been implicated in serving as a maternal signal to program offspring growth and metabolism. In the present study, we investigated the effects of in ovo leptin administration on hatch weight, serum and hepatic concentrations of metabolites and hormones, as well as on the expression of genes involved in hepatic lipid metabolism and the predicted microRNAs (miRNAs) targeting the affected genes. To this end we injected fertile eggs with either 0.5 μg of recombinant murine leptin or vehicle (PBS) before incubation. Results: Prenatally leptin-exposed chicks showed lower hatch weight, but higher liver weight relative to the body weight, compared to the control group. In ovo leptin treatment increased the hepatic content and serum concentration of leptin in newly hatched chickens. The hepatic contents of triglycerides (TG) and total cholesterol (Tch) were decreased, whereas the serum levels of TG, Tch and apolipoprotein B (ApoB) were increased. The hepatic mRNA expression of sterol regulator element binding protein 1 (SREBP-1c), SREBP-2, hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase (HMGCR) and cholesterol 7α-hydroxylase 1 (CYP7A1) was significantly up-regulated, as was the protein content of both SREBP-1c and SREBP-2 in hepatic nuclear extracts of leptin-treated chickens. Moreover, out of 12 miRNAs targeting SREBP-1c and/or HMGCR, five were significantly up-regulated in liver of leptin-treated chicks, including gga-miR-200b and gga-miR-429, which target both SREBP-1c and HMGCR. Conclusions: These results suggest that leptin in ovo decreases hatch weight, and modifies hepatic leptin secretion and lipid metabolism in newly hatched broiler chickens, possibly via microRNA-mediated gene regulation.
文摘Objective: In order to provide a theoretical basis for the revision of the current diagnostic criteria for occupational noise-induced deafness (ONID), we evaluated the degree of ONID by analyzing different high-frequency-hearing- threshold-weighted values (HFTWVs). Methods: A retrospective study was conducted to evaluate the diagnosis of patients with ONID from January 2016 to January 2017 in Guangdong province, China. Based on 3 hearing tests (each interval between the tests was greater than 3 days), the minimum threshold value of each frequency was obtained using the 2007 edition’s diagnostic criteria for ONID. The speech frequency and the HFTWVs were analyzed based on age, noise exposure, and diagnostic classi-fication using SPSS21.0. Results: 168 patients in total were involved in this study, 154 males and 14 females, and the average age was 41.18 ± 6.07. The diagnosis rate was increased by the weighted value of the high frequencies and was more than the mean value of the pure speech frequency (MVPSF). The diagnosis rate for the weighted 4 kHz frequency level increased by 13.69% (χ2 = 9.880, P = 0.002), the weighted 6 kHz level increased by 15.47% (χ2 = 9.985, P = 0.002), and the weighted 4 kHz + 6 kHz level increased by 15.47% (χ2 = 9.985, P = 0.002). The differences were all statistically significant. The diagnostic rate of the different thresholds showed no obvious difference between the genders. The age groups were divided into less than or equal to 40 years old (group A) and 40 - 50 years old (group B). There were several groups with a high frequency: high frequency weighted 4 kHz ( group A χ2 = 3.380, P = 0.050;group B χ2 = 4.054, P = 0.032), high frequency weighted 6 kHz (group A χ2 = 6.362, P = 0.012;group B χ2 = 4.054, P = 0.032), weighted 4 kHz + 6 kHz (group A χ2 = 6.362 P = 0.012;B χ2 = 4.054, P = 0.032) than those of MVPSF in the same group on ONID diagnosis rate. The differences between the groups were statistically significant. There was no significant difference between the age groups (χ2 = 2.265, P = 0.944). The better ear’s (the smaller hearing threshold weighted value) MVPSF and the weighted values for the different high frequencies were examined in light of the number of working years;the group that was exposed to noise for more than 10 years had significantly higher values than those of the average thresholds of each frequency band in the groups with 3 - 5 years of exposure (F = 2.271, P = 0.001) and 6 - 10 years of exposure (F = 1.563, P = 0.046). The differences were statistically significant. The different HFTWVs were higher than those of the MVPSF values, and the high frequency weighted 4 kHz + 6 kHz level showed the greatest difference, with an average increase of 2.83 dB. The diagnostic rate that included the weighted high frequency values was higher for the mild, moderate, and severe cases than those patients who were only screened with the pure frequency tests. The results of the comparisons of the diagnosis rates for mild ONID were as follows: the weighted 3 kHz high frequency level (χ2 = 3.117, P = 0.077) had no significant difference, but the weighted 4 kHz level (χ2 = 10.835, P = 0.001), 6 kHz level (χ2 = 9.985, P = 0.002), 3 kHz + 4 kHz level (χ2 = 6.315, P = 0.012), 3 kHz + 6 kHz level (χ2 = 6.315, P = 0.012), 4 kHz + 6 kHz level (χ2 = 9.985, P = 0.002), and 3 kHz + 4 kHz + 6 kHz level (χ2 = 7.667, P = 0.002) were significantly higher than the diagnosis rate of the mean value of the PSF. There was no significant difference between the 2 groups for the moderate and severe grades (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Different HFTWVs increase the diagnostic rate of ONID. The weighted 4 kHz, 6 kHz, and 4 kHz + 6 kHz high frequency values greatly affected the diagnostic results, and the weighted 4 kHz + 6 kHz high frequency hearing threshold value has the maximum the effect on the ONID diagnosis results.

文摘Objective To discuss the value of partial hepatectomy in patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma.Methods English articles related to hilar cholangiocarcinoma were screened from January 1,1990 to May 12,2019 in the Pub Med,MEDLINE,EMBASE,and Cochrane Library databases.Information on postoperative radical cure,survival,morbidity,and mortality after surgery were extracted from articles that met the inclusion criteria for the meta-analysis.Results Twenty-two articles that met the inclusion criteria were classified into 4 study groups: the hepatectomy radical cure group(19 articles),the hepatectomy survival group(16 articles),the hepatectomy morbidity group(9 articles),and the hepatectomy mortality group(17 articles).We found that the rate of radical cure after partial hepatectomy(odds ratio [OR] 0.32,95% confidence interval [CI] 0.20-0.51) and the survival rate(hazard ratio [HR] 0.67,95% CI 0.58-0.79) were significantly higher than after simple bile duct resection,but that morbidity(OR 1.99,95% CI 1.37-2.90) and mortality(OR 2.71,95% CI 1.47-4.98) in patients within the partial hepatectomy group were also higher than in the simple bile duct resection group,taking into account the significant heterogeneity in the articles pertaining to the hepatectomy radical cure group(I^2=68.3%,P=0.000),a sub-group analysis was subsequently conducted.Its results showed that when the branches of the secondary bile ducts were not involved during hilar cholangiocarcinoma,then a bile duct resection had a similar radical cure outcome as combined partial hepatectomy(OR 0.94,95% CI 0.54-1.65).Conclusion Partial hepatectomy can increase the proportion of radical cure in patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma and extend the survival time after surgery.However,the morbidity and mortality after surgery are higher than those in simple bile duct resections.Therefore,simple bile duct resection is still a relevant and efficient tool in the treatment of Bismuth-Corlette Type Ⅰ and Ⅱ hilar cholangiocarcinomas.

文摘In this work,boron(B)was used to promote Fe^(3+)/peracetic acid(Fe^(3+)/PAA)for the degradation of sulfamethazine(SMT).An SMT degradation efficiency of 9.1%was observed in the Fe^(3+)/PAA system over 60 min,which was significantly increased to 99.3%in the B/Fe^(3+)/PAA system over 10 min.The B/Fe^(3+)/PAA process also exhibited superior resistance to natural substances,excellent adaptability to different harmful substances,and good removal of antibiotics in natural fresh water samples.The mechanism of action of boron for Fe^(3+)reduction was determined using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopy,density functional theory(DFT)calculations,and electrochemical tests.The dominant role of^(·)OH was confirmed using quenching experiments,electron spin resonance(EPR)spectroscopy,and quantitative tests.Organic radicals(R-O^(·))and Fe(IV)also significantly contribute to the removal of SMT.DFT calculations on the reaction between Fe^(2+)and the PAA were conducted to further determine the contribution from ^(·)OH,R-O^(·),and Fe(IV)from the perspective of thermodynamics and the reaction pathways.Different boron dosages,Fe^(3+)dosages,and initial pH values were also investigated in the B/Fe^(3+)/PAA system to study their effect of SMT removal and the production of the reactive species.Fe(IV)production determined the k_(R-O·+Fe(IV))value suggesting that Fe(IV)may play a more important role than R-O^(·).A comparison of the results with other processes has also proved that the procedure described in this study(B/Fe^(3+)/PAA)is an effective method for the degradation of antibiotics.

文摘Multiaxial neutron/x-ray imaging and three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction techniques play a crucial role in gaining valuable insights intothe generation and evolution mechanisms of pulsed radiation sources. Owing to the short emission time (∼200 ns) and drastic changes of thepulsed radiation source, it is necessary to acquire projection data within a few nanoseconds in order to achieve clear computed tomography3D imaging. As a consequence, projection data that can be used for computed tomography image reconstruction at a certain moment are oftenavailable for only a few angles. Traditional algorithms employed in the process of reconstructing 3D images with extremely incomplete datamay introduce significant distortions and artifacts into the final image. In this paper, we propose an iterative image reconstruction methodusing cylindrical harmonic decomposition and a self-supervised denoising network algorithm based on the deep image prior method. Weaugment the prior information with a 2D total variation prior and a 3D deep image prior. Single-wire Z-pinch imaging experiments have beencarried out at Qin-1 facility in five views and four frames, with a time resolution of 3 ns for each frame and a time interval of 40 ns betweenadjacent frames. Both numerical simulations and experiments verify that our proposed algorithm can achieve high-quality reconstructionresults and obtain the 3D intensity distribution and evolution of extreme ultraviolet and soft x-ray emission from plasma.
文摘Natural killer (NK) cells are a major component of the host innate immune defense against various pathogens. Several viruses, including hepatitis C virus (HCV), have developed strategies to evade the NK-cell response. In our study, we found HCV infection could trigger DNA damage response by both ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) and ATM- and Rad3-related (ATR) pathways. Recent reports had revealed that NKG2D ligands (NK cell-activating ligands) were upregulated when a major DNA damage checkpoint pathway was activated. However, here we found that DNA damage response was activated but NKG2D ligands were downregulated upon HCV infection. Further studies showed that the protease NS3/4A of HCV which had been shown relation with immune invasion contributed to the reduced expression of NKG2D ligands. These findings provide a novel insight into the mechanisms evolved by HCV to escape from the NK cell response.

文摘OBJECTIVE:This study was designed to develop a disease-specific health-related quality of life(HR-QOL) measure for patients with post-stroke spasticity.METHODS:Based on responses from 20 patients with post-stroke spasticity and an extensive literature search,items potentially used to measure these patients' recovery status were identified and the Apoplexy Spastic-Paralysis Questionnaire(ASPQ) was formed.A sample of 106 patients was then tested twice using the ASPQ,the Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS) and the Stroke-specific Quality of Life(SS-QOL).Clinicians also examined all the patients using the Ashworth Scale(AS).Internal reliability was assessed using Cronbach's coefficient α,while construct validity was determined using principal component analysis(PCA).Empirical validity was evaluated between patients with depression and those without depression by single factor analysis.Sensitivity was examined by calculating the Spearman correlation coefficient between the changes in scores of the ASPQ,the AS and the SS-QOL.RESULTS:The ASPQ had adequate internal consistency reliability(α=0.874) and sensitivity,with significant correlations between the changes in scores of the AS,the SS-QOL and the ASPQ,with three domains.In a construct validity test,six factors were extracted;the overall variance explained by all factors was 72.6%.For empirical validity,mean values of 19 items and 3 domains were all higher in the depressive patients than in the non-depressive patients.CONCLUSION:The ASPQ is a reliable and valid self-rating scale for measuring the HR-QOL in patients with post-stroke spasticity.

文摘The interface between a two-dimensional(2D)atomic crystal and a metal surface can be regarded as a nanoreactor, in which molecule adsorption and catalytic reactions may occur. In this work, we demonstrate that oxygen intercalation and desorption occur at the interface between hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN) overlayer and Pt(111) surface by using near-ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(NAP-XPS), photoemission electron microscopy, and low-energy electron microscopy.Furthermore, CO oxidation under the h-BN cover was also observed by NAP-XPS. The present results indicate that the nanospace under the 2D cover can be used for surface reactions, in which novel surface chemistry may be induced by the nanoconfinement effect.

文摘A self-synthesized bi-pyridine chelating resin(PAPY)could separate Cu(Ⅱ)/Ni(Ⅱ)/Fe(Ⅱ)sequentially from strong-acidic pickling wastewater by a two-stage p H-adjusted process,in which Cu(Ⅱ),Ni(Ⅱ),and Fe(Ⅱ)were successively preferred by PAPY.In the first stage(p H 1.0),the separation factor of Cu(Ⅱ)over Ni(Ⅱ)reached 61.43 in Cu(Ⅱ)-Ni(Ⅱ)-Fe(Ⅱ)systems.In the second stage(p H 2.0),the separation factor of Ni(Ⅱ)over Fe(Ⅱ)reached 92.82 in Ni(Ⅱ)-Fe(Ⅱ)systems.Emphasis was placed on the selective separation of Cu(Ⅱ)and Ni(Ⅱ)in the first-stage.The adsorption amounts of Cu(Ⅱ)onto PAPY were 1.2 mmol/g in the first stage,while those of Ni(Ⅱ)and Fe(Ⅱ)were lower than 0.3 mmol/g.Cu(Ⅱ)adsorption was hardly affected by Ni(Ⅱ)with the presence of dense Fe(Ⅱ),but Cu(Ⅱ)inhibited Ni(Ⅱ)adsorption strongly.Part of preloaded Ni(Ⅱ)could be replaced by Cu(Ⅱ)based on the replacement effect.Compared with the absence of Fe(Ⅱ),dense Fe(Ⅱ)could obviously enhance the separation of Cu(Ⅱ)-Ni(Ⅱ).More than 95.0%of Cu(Ⅱ)could be removed in the former 240 BV(BV for bed volume of the adsorbent)in the fixed-bed adsorption column process with the flow rate of 2.5 BV/h.As proved by X-ray photoelectron spectrometry(XPS)and density functional theory(DFT)analyses,Cu(Ⅱ)exerted a much stronger deprotonation and chelation ability toward PAPY than Ni(Ⅱ)and Fe(Ⅱ).Thus,the work shows a great potential in the separation and purification of heavy metal resources from strong-acidic pickling wastewaters.

文摘The gradual development of Chinese medicine is based on constant accumulation and summary of experience in clinical practice,but without the benefit of undergoing the experimental medicine stage.Although Chinese medicine has formed a systematic and unique theory system through thousands of years,with the development of evidence-based medicine,the bondage of the research methods of experience medicine to Chinese medicine is appearing.The rapid transition and transformation from experience medicine to evidence-based medicine have become important content in the development of Chinese medicine.According to the features of Chinese medicine,we propose the research idea of“taking two ways simultaneously,”which is the study both in the ideal condition and in the real world.Analyzing and constructing the theoretical basis and methodology of clinical research in the real world,and building the stage for research technique is key to the effective clinical research of Chinese medicine.Only by gradually maturing and completing the clinical research methods of the real world could we realize“taking two ways simultaneously”and complementing each other,continuously produce scientific and reliable evidence of Chinese medicine,as well as transform and develop Chinese medicine from experience medicine to evidence-based medicine.

文摘Few fishes have evolved elevated body temperatures compared with ambient temperatures,and only in opah(Lampris spp)is the entire body affected.To understand the molecular basis of endothermy,we analyzed the opah genome and identified 23 genes with convergent amino acid substitutions across fish,birds,and mammals,including slc8b1,which encodes the mitochondrial Na+/Ca2+exchanger and is essential for heart function andmetabolic heat production.Among endothermic fishes,44 convergent genes with suggestive metabolic functions were identified,such as glrx3,encoding a crucial protein for hemoglobin maturation.Numerous genes involved in the production and retention of metabolic heat were also found to be under positive selection.Analyses of opah’s unique inner-heat-producing pectoral muscle layer(PMI),an evolutionary key innovation,revealed that many proteins were co-opted from dorsal swimming muscles for thermogenesis and oxidative phosphorylation.Thus,the opah genome provides valuable resources and opportunities to uncover the genetic basis of thermal adaptations in fish.

文摘Partial liver resection is an established treatment for hepatic disorders.However,surgical bleeding,intra-abdominal adhesion and rapid liver regeneration are still major challenges after partial liver resection,associated with morbidity and mortality.Herein,a biomimetic hybrid hydrogel,composed of oxidized hyaluronic acid,glycol chitosan and MenSCs-derived conditioned medium(CM),is presented to address these issues.The hybrid hydrogel is formed through reversible Schiff base,and possesses injectability and self-healing capability.Moreover,hybrid hydrogel exhibits the capabilities of hemostasis,anti-infection,tissue adhesion and controllable release of cargoes.Based on in vivo studies of the multifunctional hybrid hydrogel,it is demonstrated that acute bleeding in partial liver resection can be ceased immediately by virtue of the hemostasis features of hybrid hydrogel.Also,a significant reduction of intra-abdominal adhesion is confirmed in hybrid hydrogel-treated resection surface.Furthermore,upon the treatment of hybrid hydrogel,hepatic cell proliferation and tissue regeneration can be significantly improved due to the controllably released cytokines from MenSCs-derived CM,exerting the effects of mitogenesis and anti-inflammation in vivo.Thus,the biomimetic hybrid hydrogel can be a promising candidate with great potential for application in partial liver resection.

文摘Seahorses are a hallmark of specialized morphological features due to their elongated prehensile tail.However,the underlying genomic grounds of seahorse tail development remain elusive.Herein,we evaluated the roles of essential genes from the Wnt gene family for the tail developmental process in the lined seahorse(Hippocampus erectus).Comparative genomic analysis revealed that the Wnt gene family is conserved in seahorses.The expression profiles and in situ hybridization suggested that Wnt5a,Wnt8a,and Wnt11 may participate in seahorse tail development.Like in other teleosts,Wnt5a and Wntll were found to regulate the development of the tail axial mesoderm and tail somitic mesoderm,respectively.However,a significantly extended expression period of Wnt8a during seahorse tail development was observed.Signaling pathway analysis further showed that Wnt5a up-regulated the expression of the tail axial mesoderm gene(Shh),while interaction analysis indicated that Wnt8a could promote the expression of Wntll.In summary,our results indicate that the special extended expression period of Wnt8a might promote caudal tail axis formation,which contributes to the formation of the elongated tail of the seahorse.
