Enhancing AI System Privacy:An Automatic Tool for Achieving GDPR Compliance in NoSQL Databases

The EU’s Artificial Intelligence Act(AI Act)imposes requirements for the privacy compliance of AI systems.AI systems must comply with privacy laws such as the GDPR when providing services.These laws provide users with the right to issue a Data Subject Access Request(DSAR).Responding to such requests requires database administrators to identify information related to an individual accurately.However,manual compliance poses significant challenges and is error-prone.Database administrators need to write queries through time-consuming labor.The demand for large amounts of data by AI systems has driven the development of NoSQL databases.Due to the flexible schema of NoSQL databases,identifying personal information becomes even more challenging.This paper develops an automated tool to identify personal information that can help organizations respond to DSAR.Our tool employs a combination of various technologies,including schema extraction of NoSQL databases and relationship identification from query logs.We describe the algorithm used by our tool,detailing how it discovers and extracts implicit relationships from NoSQL databases and generates relationship graphs to help developers accurately identify personal data.We evaluate our tool on three datasets,covering different database designs,achieving an F1 score of 0.77 to 1.Experimental results demonstrate that our tool successfully identifies information relevant to the data subject.Our tool reduces manual effort and simplifies GDPR compliance,showing practical application value in enhancing the privacy performance of NOSQL databases and AI systems. 展开更多

Congenital melanocytic nevi(CMN) are common skin tumors. Large and specially located nevi cannot be completely removed by surgery, posing the risks of both cosmetic deformities and potential malignancy.Nonsurgical treatments, such as laser therapy and physical dermabrasion, can overcome the limitations of surgery;however, the high rate of repigmentation remains an unresolved global challenge. We conducted a self-controlled observational study of a patient with a nevus on the chest. Two areas of the lesion were treated with an Er:YAG laser and 5% imiquimod cream was applied to one of these areas. After nearly 7-months of follow-up, we observed a significant difference in color between the two areas, suggesting that topical imiquimod may inhibit repigmentation and significantly enhance the effectiveness of laser treatment. 展开更多

The system uses Leap Motion binocular vision sensors to collect human hand information, and uses the improved PCA<sub><img src="Edit_d6662636-9073-4fbd-855f-9a36e871d5a4.png" width="10" height="15" alt="" /></sub> (Principal Component Analysis) to perform data fusion on the real-time data collected by the sensor to obtain more hands with fewer principal components, and improve the stability and accuracy of the data. Immediately, the use of improved SVM<sub><img src="Edit_10c78725-e09e-4dcf-ae05-e21205df4acc.png" width="10" height="15" alt="" /></sub> (Support Vector Machine) and KNN<sub><img src="Edit_0ee97f55-2773-4b48-93b3-93f61aa25577.png" width="10" height="15" alt="" /></sub> (K-Nearest Neighbor Algorithm) for gesture recognition and classification is proposed to enable patients to perform rehabilitation training more effectively. Finally, the effective evaluation results of the rehabilitation effect of patients by the idea of AHP<sub><img src="Edit_70dd1964-28be-4137-afa5-9a184704f08e.png" width="10" height="15" alt="" /></sub> (Analytic Hierarchy Process) are taken as necessary reference factors for doctors to follow up treatment. In order to minimize the potential danger of smoke hazard, a rational VR based fire training simulator should fully consider all aspects of smoke hazard. In the simulator, the visualization of data based on FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator) and FED fire dynamic data and volume rendering is further optimized, which can be effectively and quickly applied to virtual fire protection. In addition, a comprehensive smoke hazard assessment model based on FED and FED is established to assess the IHD value of different paths, which represents the safety of different paths, and can be used for evacuation or rescue in virtual training. Taking the case of campus fire drill as an experiment, the research shows the accuracy and effectiveness of smoke assessment based on FDS and FED model. The road force with the highest safety can be selected through the comprehensive model. So the assessment model is proved to be valuable. 展开更多

To the Editor:Peri-operative hyperglycemia in patients with or without diabetes is associated with a higher incidence of post-operative complications.[1]In China,more than 130 million people have been diagnosed with diabetes,and more than one-third of the total population has prediabetes.Hyperglycemia in hospitalized patients is common,and the peri-operative hyperglycemia rate varies from 30%to 40%in different studies.[2]Controlling perioperative blood glucose is conducive to a better outcome of surgery and this has become a broad consensus;the awareness of a need for blood glucose control is continuously increasing among surgeons.It has been reported that the immune cell composition following hyperglycemia differs in both diabetic and non-diabetic patients,as compared to other patients.[3]To study the impact of intra-operative blood glucose management,an observational study was performed on intra-operative hyperglycemia patients to compare the outcomes of patients who received insulin treatment and those who did not. 展开更多

Effects of three-dimensional(3D)magnetic field perturbations due to feedback control of an unstable n=1(n is toroidal mode number)resistive wall mode(RWM)on the energetic particle(EP)losses are systematically investigated for the HL-3 tokamak.The MARS-F(Liu et al 2000 Phys.Plasmas 73681)code,facilitated by the test particle guiding center tracing module REORBIT,is utilized for the study.The RWM is found to generally produce no EP loss for cocurrent particles in HL-3.Assuming the same perturbation level at the sensor location for the close-loop system,feedback produces nearly the same loss of counter-current EPs compared to the open-loop case.Assuming however that the sensor signal is ten times smaller in the close-loop system than the open-loop counter part(reflecting the fact that the RWM is more stable with feedback),the counter-current EP loss is found significantly reduced in the former.Most of EP losses occur only for particles launched close to the plasma edge,while particles launched further away from the plasma boundary experience much less loss.The strike points of lost EPs on the HL-3 limiting surface become more scattered for particles launched closer to the plasma boundary.Taking into account the full gyro-orbit of particles while approaching the limiting surface,REORBIT finds slightly enhanced loss fraction. 展开更多

Perusing multimode luminescent materials capable of being activated by diverse excitation sources and realizing multi-responsive emission in a single system remains a challenge.Herein,we utilize a heterovalent substituting strategy to realize multimode deep-ultraviolet(UV)emission in the defect-rich host Li_(2)CaGeO_(4)(LCGO).Specifically,the Pr^(3+)substitution in LCGO is beneficial to activating defect site reconstruction including the generation of cation defects and the decrease of oxygen vacancies.Regulation of different traps in LCGO:Pr^(3+)presents persistent luminescence and photo-stimulated luminescence in a synergetic fashion.Moreover,the up-conversion luminescence appears with the aid of the 4f discrete energy levels of Pr^(3+)ions,wherein incident visible light is partially converted into germicidal deep-UV radiation.The multi-responsive character enables LCGO:Pr^(3+)to response to convenient light sources including X-ray tube,standard UV lamps,blue and near-infrared lasers.Thus,a dual-mode optical conversion strategy for inactivating bacteria is fabricated,and this multi-responsive deep-UV emitter offers new insights into developing UV light sources for sterilization applications.Heterovalent substituting in trap-mediated host lattice also provides a methodological basis for the construction of multi-mode luminescent materials. 展开更多

With the rapid growth of optical communications traffic,the demand for broadband optical amplifiers continues to increase.It is necessary to develop a gain medium that covers more optical communication bands.We precipitated PbS quantum dots(QDs) and Ba F_(2):Tm^(3+) nanocrystals (NCs) in the same glass to form two independent emission centers.The Ba F_(2)NCs in the glass can provide a crystal field environment with low phonon energy for rare earth (RE) ions and prevent the energy transfer between RE ions and PbS QDs.By adjusting the heat treatment schedule,the emission of the two luminescence centers from PbS QDs and Tm^(3+) ions perfectly splices and covers the ultra-broadband near-infrared emission from 1200 nm to 2000 nm with bandwidth over 430 nm.Therefore,it is expected to be a promising broadband gain medium for fiber amplifiers. 展开更多

Osmotic energy between river water and seawater has attracted interest as a new source of sustainable energy.Nanofluidic membranes in a reverse electrodialysis configuration can capture energy from salinity gradients.However,current membrane materials suffer from high resistances,low stabilities,and low charge densities,which limit their further application.Here,we designed a high-performance nanofluidic membrane using carboxylic cellulose nanofibers functionalized with graphene oxide nanolamellas with cement-and-pebble microstructures and stable skeletons for enhanced ion transmembrane transport.By mixing artificial river water and seawater,the composite membrane achieved a high output power density up to 5.26 W m^(−2).Additionally,the membrane had an excellent acid resistance,which enabled long-term use with over 67 W m^(−2) of power density.The performance of this composite membrane benefited from the mechanically strong cellulose fibers and the bonding between nanofibers and nanolamellas.In this work,we highlight promising directions in industrial waste treatment using energy extracted from chemical potential gradients. 展开更多
