Application of Zero-Watermarking for Medical Image in Intelligent Sensor Network Security

The field of healthcare is considered to be the most promising application of intelligent sensor networks.However,the security and privacy protection ofmedical images collected by intelligent sensor networks is a hot problem that has attracted more and more attention.Fortunately,digital watermarking provides an effective method to solve this problem.In order to improve the robustness of the medical image watermarking scheme,in this paper,we propose a novel zero-watermarking algorithm with the integer wavelet transform(IWT),Schur decomposition and image block energy.Specifically,we first use IWT to extract low-frequency information and divide them into non-overlapping blocks,then we decompose the sub-blocks by Schur decomposition.After that,the feature matrix is constructed according to the relationship between the image block energy and the whole image energy.At the same time,we encrypt watermarking with the logistic chaotic position scrambling.Finally,the zero-watermarking is obtained by XOR operation with the encrypted watermarking.Three indexes of peak signal-to-noise ratio,normalization coefficient(NC)and the bit error rate(BER)are used to evaluate the robustness of the algorithm.According to the experimental results,most of the NC values are around 0.9 under various attacks,while the BER values are very close to 0.These experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is more robust than the existing zero-watermarking methods,which indicates it is more suitable for medical image privacy and security protection. 展开更多

The“New Medical Education”is a new requirement for the development of medical education in the new era.As a key and core element of the construction of the“New Medical Education,”the engagement in teaching work of university teachers is a key issue that determines the level of teaching development of university teachers and affects the quality of talent cultivation in universities.Using the literature review method,this study analyzed 39 relevant literatures retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)from 1997 to 2023.The concept,connotation,current situation,influencing factors,and improvement strategies of teaching engagement by university teachers were reviewed and summarized.The results showed that the issue of teaching engagement by university teachers has not received high attention in the field of higher education,especially in higher medical education,which has not yet been reported.Although the overall number of literature is not large,some of the conclusions have important implications for the next research on the influencing factors and mechanisms of double-qualified teacher engagement in higher medical colleges. 展开更多

Objective:To build a set of teaching staff construction and teaching quality monitoring system suitable for clinical practice teaching in affiliated hospitals of medical colleges,achieve continuous improvement of clinical education and teaching level,and ensure the quality of medical education talent cultivation.Methods:A modern clinical practice teaching quality monitoring system is constructed based on organizational structure construction,teaching staff system construction,quality control system construction,and information platform construction,combined with external audit and evaluation.Results:The hospital has established a Faculty Development and Teaching Evaluation Office specifically responsible for the cultivation of clinical teachers and the evaluation and supervision of teaching quality.A relatively complete teacher construction and teaching quality monitoring system has also been established for clinical practice teaching,thus achieving integration with the school’s quality control system in terms of management mechanism.At the same time,a set of teaching quality control mode based on the“Internet+”platform has been created by means of informatization.At present,this mode has won three national computer software copyrights and two second prizes for school-level teaching achievements.Conclusion:Through five years of practice,an“Internet+”teaching quality evaluation and monitoring system with the characteristics of teaching hospitals affiliated to local medical colleges has been established.In order to further standardize the training system of clinical teachers in affiliated hospitals,achieve self-monitoring and self-improvement in terms of teaching quality,and ensure the continuous improvement of clinical teaching quality,we will continue to promote the development of clinical teachers with quality and excellence,enrich the main team of quality monitoring,guide the transformation of the education mode from being“centered on teachers”to being“centered on students,”and realize the integration of internal and external quality monitoring systems. 展开更多

Some studies have demonstrated that STN stimulation inhibits the firing activity ofsubstantia nigra pars reticulata neurons.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of different-frequency STN stimulation andmicroiontophoresis of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and its antagonist, bicuculline, onspontaneous firing activity in a rat model of Parkinson's disease, and to analyze the action pathwayof high frequency stimulation in firing activity inhibition of substantia nigra pars reticulata neurons.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: This neuroelectrophysiological, animal experiment was performedat the Electrophysiology Laboratory of Liaoning Medical University, China from March to August2008.MATERIALS: 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) (Sigma, USA), A320R isolated stimulus and DAM80preamplifier (World Precision Instruments, USA), 6400A microiontophoresis apparatus (Dagan,USA), and Spike 2 biological signal acquisition system (CED, UK) were used in this study.METHODS: A total of 20 Sprague Dawley rats were used to establish a Parkinson's disease modelvia injection of 6-OHDA into the right striatum. Electrical stimulation (0.06-ms width, 0.4-mA intensity20-200-Hz frequency, 5-second train duration) was delivered to the subthalamic nucleus. Peripheralchannels were separately filled with GABA (pH 3.5, 0.2 mol/L), bicuculline (pH 4.0, 0.01 mol/L), andNaCl (pH 7.0, 3 mol/L). The electrode was positioned with a WK-2 microelectrode propulsion device,and was slowly inserted into the substantia nigra pars reticulata to record spontaneous firing activityof substantia nigra pars reticulata neurons.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The number and firing rate of substantia nigra pars reticulataneurons which were either inhibited or excited were measured.RESULTS: Substantia nigra pars reticulata neurons were inhibited by STN stimulation. Theproportion of inhibited substantia nigra pars reticulata neurons increased with increasing stimulationfrequency. GABA had a tonic inhibitory effect on substantia nigra pars reticulata neurons.Microiontophoresis of bicuculline suppressed the inhibitory effect of STN-HFS on 67% (4/6) ofsubstantia nigra pars reticulata neurons.CONCLUSION: STN-HFS ameliorated abnormal activity in substantia nigra pars reticulata neuronsvia the inhibitory effect of GABA treatment in a rat model of Parkinson's disease. 展开更多

Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)capable of tumour topotaxis have been served as cellular vehicles to deliver anti-tumour agents.As cellular components of the tumour microenvironment,MSCs also affect tumour progression.However,the tumour transformation-related genes of MSCs remain unclear since either tumorigenic or tumour suppressor effects within these cells have been researched.Hence,we aimed to identify potential biomarkers indicative of tumorigenic risk by RNA-seq analysis of human placenta tissue-derived MSCs(hPTMSCs)exposed to the carcinogenic agent,3-methylcholanthrene(3-MC).Twenty-nine tumour transformation-related genes and three pluripotency-related genes were appraised as differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in hPTMSCs.Overexpression of sfrp1 led to reduced cell viability,migration,and colony formation in A549.In contrast,the overexpression of ptgs2 exerted the opposite effect.These results indicate that A549 cells with high ptgs2 expression but low sfrp1 expression may have a more potential tumorigenic capacity.Taken together,this study suggests that ptgs2 and sfrp1 may be tumorigenic risk genes. 展开更多

Objective:During the prevention and control of the outbreak of the new coronavirus,an upsurge of online teaching was set off in various teaching institutions.There is a relatively new online teaching method that has stood out,namely the screen sharing method.The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of live broadcasting and PowerPoint recorded lectures in terms of medical students' mastery of knowledge.Methods:The study was carried out among medical students of class 1806 from the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical University who were in their clinical years.The students were randomly divided into two groups,in which 15 students were enrolled in the live broadcast lecture group,while 13 were in the PowerPoint recorded lecture group.Each group underwent two weeks of teaching in obstetrics and gynecology.After the second week of the course,a knowledge post-test and satisfaction survey were carried out,and the same test paper was used again 14 days after the previous test.The knowledge post-test and satisfaction survey were carried out using the Dingding intelligent form.Results:With regard to the post-test knowledge,the scores of the students under the two teaching methods were high,indicating that the learning effects from the two methods are similar(p>0.05).In terms of satisfaction,students showed more acceptance to screen sharing lectures(p<0.01).Conclusion:In small-scale online teaching,live lecture with screen sharing is a better and more effective teaching method,and students are more likely to accept this teaching method. 展开更多

Liver cirrhosis is an important cause of chronic liver cancer.At present,a breakthrough has been achieved in the development of chronic hepatitis C treatment,but there is no effective measure to completely cure chronic hepatitis B.Porphyrins are a class of macromolecular heterocyclic compounds formed by interconnecting the a-carbon atoms of four pyrrole-like substituents through hypomethyl bonds.Porphyrins and their derivatives widely exist in organelles related to energy transfer in organisms.They are mainly involved in the synthesis of heme in human body.Heme is an iron-containing porphyrin compound,15-20% of which is synthesized and utilized in the liver.Studies have found that porphyrin metabolism disorder can occur in patients with chronic liver disease.The early stage of viral hepatitis is accompanied by increased production of porphyrins and their compounds,increased levels of peripheral circulating porphyrins,porphyrin cholestasis,and biochemical changes of free porphyrins which precede the histological changes.The accumulation of serum and liver protoporphyrins and the oxidative stress can cause liver and extrahepatic damage.On the one hand,porphyrin metabolism disorder can aggravate chronic liver disease,and even progress to liver cirrhosis and liver cancer.On the other hand,chronic liver disease can also aggravate porphyrin metabolism disorder,recurrent attacks,and damage to liver and extrahepatic tissues and organs. 展开更多

Application of Student Standardized Patient in the Clinical Teaching of Acute Abdomen

Background:In recent years,with the gradual expansion of the scale of medical education,the shortage of medical teaching resources and the reluctance of patients to cooperate with teaching have become increasingly prominent.Objective:To explore the application effect of student standardized patient(SSP)in the clinical teaching of acute abdomen.Methods:Fifty-four fifth-year general medical students from class 1826 of the general department of The First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Medical University were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into two groups,with 27 students in the experimental teaching group,and the remaining 27 students in the conventional teaching group.The experimental teaching group adopted the SSP teaching approach.The SSPs were generated from the training students of the hospital through the recruitment and training process of SSP.In this study,seven qualified SSPs were selected for the clinical teaching of acute abdomen.At the end of the course,a periodic assessment was held.The rank sum test was used to compare the excellent and good rates between the two groups,while t-test was used to compare the difference between the two groups.Results:The results showed that the excellent and good rate of the experimental teaching group was significantly higher than that of the conventional group,in which the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(p<0.05).In terms of the assessment results,the theoretical scores and skills scores of the experimental teaching group were better than those of the conventional teaching group,in which the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(p<0.05).Conclusion:Through the training of SSP for acute abdomen and its application in surgical teaching and examination,the superiority of SSP is emphasized.Although there are still some shortcomings in the application of SSP in clinical teaching,it is a relatively new and effective teaching method,and it will play an increasingly critical role in clinical skills training pertaining to the medical specialty. 展开更多

Objective:To study the effect of sal ammoniac extract on the treatment of liver cancer and analyze its possibility of replacing absolute ethanol.Methods:Sixty Kunming mice(5-6 weeks old,18-22g in weight,male and female in half)were selected and inoculated with 0.1 ml of 1:4 ascitic diluent from mouse liver cancer H22 under the axilla of the right limb.After tumor formation,they were randomly divided into 3 groups with 20 mice in each group.Normal saline(NS),sal ammoniac extract(N),and absolute ethanol(E)were injected into the tumor once a day for four times.The death,tumor weight,tumor inhibition rate,lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),and succinate dehydrogenase(SDH)expression of the mice in each group were analyzed.Results:In the course of treatment,3 mice died in the normal saline group,2 mice died in the sal ammoniac treatment group,and 7 mice died in the absolute ethanol group.The tumor weight of the normal saline group,sal ammoniac treatment group,and absolute ethanol group were 1.880.26,1.41±0.49,and 1.51±0.46,respectively.The tumor inhibition rates were 0%,31.0%,and 21.6%,respectively.Comparing the sal ammoniac treatment group and the normal saline group,t=3.5133,p=0.0013;comparing the absolute ethanol group and the normal saline group,t=2.7926,p=0.0093.The expression of LDH was 81±10,51±11,and 32±9 in the normal saline group,sal ammoniac treatment group,and absolute ethanol group,respectively,while the expression of SDH was 80±10,5110,and 51±12 in the normal saline group,sal ammoniac treatment group,and absolute ethanol group,respectively.Comparing the LDH of the sal ammoniac treatment group with that of the saline group,t=8.4264,ρ=0.0000;comparing the absolute ethanol group and normal saline group,t=13.8763,p=0.0000.Comparing the SDH of the sal ammoniac treatment group with that of the normal saline group,t=8.1455,ρ=0.0000;comparing the absolute ethanol group with the normal saline group,t=7.2197,ρ=0.0000.Conclusion:The traditional Chinese antitumor medicine,sal ammoniac and its main effective components have good antitumor effect,which can be further popularized and applied in clinical practice. 展开更多

At this stage,the sustainability of human resources in China is becoming more apparent.As vital units of social development,public institutions are facing fierce competitions under the appalling situation of today’s market economy,and the problem of human resource management is increasingly significant.In order to improve their potentiality for sustainable development and enhance their core competitiveness,public institutions must pay attention to human resource management.At present,the human resource management of public institutions,whether from the micro level of employees and managers,or the regional differences at the macro level,all show significant problems,such as the flawed employee management system,the serious phenomenon of difference and mismatch,as well as the lack of professional knowledge among managers.Based on this,this paper takes the coordinated relationship between human resource management and sustainable economic development as a breakthrough and proposes several measures for the problems that exist in the human resource management of public institutions,so as to continuously improve the level of their human resource management as well as promote the sustainable development of public institutions and social economy. 展开更多

Hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)represent a significant component of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)microenvironments which play a critical role in tumor progression and drug resistance.Tumor-ona-chip technology has provided a powerful in vitro platform to investigate the crosstalk between activated HSCs and HCC cells by mimicking physiological architecture with precise spatiotemporal control.Here we developed a tri-cell culture microfluidic chip to evaluate the impact of HSCs on HCC progression.Onchip analysis revealed activated HSCs contributed to endothelial invasion,HCC drug resistance and natural killer(NK)cell exhaustion.Cytokine array and RNA sequencing analysis were combined to indicate the iron-binding protein LIPOCALIN-2(LCN-2)as a key factor in remodeling tumor microenvironments in the HCC-on-a-chip.LCN-2 targeted therapy demonstrated robust anti-tumor effects both in vitro 3D biomimetic chip and in vivo mouse model,including angiogenesis inhibition,sorafenib sensitivity promotion and NK-cell cytotoxicity enhancement.Taken together,the microfluidic platform exhibited obvious advantages in mimicking functional characteristics of tumor microenvironments and developing targeted therapies. 展开更多

Garlic(Allium sativum,Liliaceae)has been safely used for more than 5000 years,and research on garlic extract is rapidly increasing because of its multiple biological functions.The in vivo effects of oral administration of garlic mixture(GM,water-soluble extract)on infectious bursal disease virus(IBDV)-infected specific pathogen free male white leghorn chicken were examined through histopathological,immunohistochemical,and Western blot analyses,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.The results confirmed the protective effects of oral administration of 5 mg·kg^(–1) BW GM(Group GM1)on bursal lesions after IBDV infection.In particular,protein expression of IBDV in the bursa decreased in Group GM1,indicating that GM administration decreased IBDV replication in the bursa.Furthermore,immunoglobulin M-and A-bearing B lymphocytes significantly increased 7 days post infection in bursae in Group GM1(P<0.01),suggesting that the oral administration of 5 mg·kg^(–1) GM offers moderate protection against B cell destruction after IBDV infection.During infection,the concentration of bursal interferon gamma(IFN-g)increased and peaked in Group GM1 earlier than in Group T(IBDV-exposed),demonstrating that GM administration prompted the production of IFN-g to protect against IBDV infection. 展开更多
