In flotation,metal ions possess significant roles that are usually fulfilled by either selectively activating or depressing the target minerals.Despite that tremendous efforts have been made to address the roles of metal ions in flotation,it still lacks a comprehensive review,especially to compare various ions instead of focusing on a specific one.This review begins by elaborately categorizing the factors involved in affecting the roles of metal ions in flotation.After that,well-accepted mechanisms are updated and discussed from the ore type.Furthermore,typical approaches to explore the underlying mechanisms are emphasized,including traditional techniques such as micro-flotation,contact angle measurement,zeta potential measurement,and other recent prevailing methodologies,like computational method,solution chemistry calculation,and cyclic voltammetry.This work will pave the way to promote flotations via activities like selectively adding/reducing metal ions,choosing reagents,and regulating the slurry chemistry. 展开更多

This work focuses on the organic depressant,disodium bis(carboxymethyl)trithiocarbonate(DBT),as a selectivedepressant in copper?molybdenum sulfide flotation separation.Micro-flotation,Zeta potential,FTIR and XPS measurements werecarried out to investigate the selective depression mechanism of DBT on chalcopyrite.Zeta potential and FTIR measurementsrevealed that DBT had higher affinity for chalcopyrite than molybdenite and the XPS results of chalcopyrite before and aftertreatment with DBT further proved that DBT adsorbed on chalcopyrite surface.The investigation indicates that the mechanism ofDBT adsorbing on chalcopyrite is mainly physical adsorption.Locked circuit experiments were carried out and the results showedthat DBT could be considered as a cleaner option in commercial Cu?Mo flotation separation circuits. 展开更多

Design and simulation results of a novel multifunctional electronic calibration kit based on microelectromechanical system(MEMS)single-pole double-throw(SPDT)switches are presented in this paper.The short-open-load-through(SOLT)calibration states can be completed simultaneously by using the MEMS electronic calibration,and the electronic calibrator can be reused 10^(6) times.The simulation results show that this novel electronic calibration can be used in a frequency range of 0.1 GHz–20 GHz,the return loss is less than 0.18 dB and 0.035 dB in short-circuit and open-circuit states,respectively,and the insertion loss in through(thru)state is less than 0.27 dB.On the other hand,the size of this novel calibration kit is only 6 mm×2.8 mm×0.8 mm.Our results demonstrate that the calibrator with integrated radiofrequency microelectromechanical system(RF MEMS)switches can not only provide reduced size,loss,and calibration cost compared with traditional calibration kit but also improves the calibration accuracy and efficiency.It has great potential applications in millimeter-wave measurement and testing technologies,such as device testing,vector network analyzers,and RF probe stations. 展开更多
