High Expression of hsMAD2 in the Villi of Spontaneously Aborted Embryo with Chromosomal Abnormality

The patients were then divided into the normal and abnormal groups based on the chromosome number. The hsMAD2 protein and gene expression levels in the villi tissues of the two embryo groups were detected by western blotting and qRT-PCR, respectively. The degradation of mechanical properties of overdischarge battery materials manifests as a significant effect on the energy density,safety,and cycle life of the batteries.However,establishing the correlation between depth of overdischarge and mechanical properties is still a significant challenge.Studying the correlation between depth of overdischarge and mechanical properties is of great significance to improving the energy density and the ability to resist abuse of the batteries.In this paper,the mechanical properties of the battery materials during the whole process of overdischarge from discharge to complete failure were studied.The effects of depth of overdischarge on the elastic modulus and hardness of the cathode of the battery,the tensile strength and the thermal shrinkage rate of the separator,and the performance of binder were investigated.The precipitation of Cu dendrites on the separator and cathode after dissolution of anode copper foil is a key factor affecting the performance of battery materials.The Cu dendrites attached to the cathode penetrate the separator,causing irreversible damage to the coating and base film of the separator,which leads to a sharp decline in the tensile strength,thermal shrinkage rate and other properties of the separator.In addition,the Cu dendrites wrapping the cathode active particles reduce the adhesion of the active particles binder.Meanwhile,the active particles are damaged,resulting in a significant decrease in the elastic modulus and hardness of the cathode. 展开更多

Objective: To analyze the distribution characteristics and clinical significance of SLCO1B1 and ApoE gene polymorphisms of the Li people in Hainan Island. Method: Selecting 502 high school students of the Li people from five cities and counties in Hainan Island (namely, Qiongzhong County, Dongfang City, Ledong County, Baoting County and Wuzhishan City) as research subjects in September, 2019;Applying PCR-fluorescence probe method to detect SLCO1B1 and ApoE genotypes of the Li people in Hainan Island, and statistically analyzing the distribution characteristics of gene frequency and the distribution differences in gene polymorphisms between different genders. Meanwhile, detecting the SLCO1B1 and ApoE gene of 527 people from the Han people in five regions mentioned before, so as to analyze the distribution differences of the SLCO1B1 and ApoE gene between the Han people and the Li people. Results: The frequency of each genotype of SLCO1B1 in the Li people in Hainan Island is: *1a/*1a 6.77%, *1a/*1b 27.09%, *1b/1b 41.63%, *1a/*5 0.00%, *1a/*15 4.78%, *1b/15 16.93%., *5/*5 0.00%, *5/*15 0.00%, *15/*15 2.79%;And that of ApoE is: e2/e2 0.40%, e2/e3 17.73%, e2/e4 2.39%, e3/e3 65.54%, e3/e4 12.55%, e4/e4 1.39%. There is no significant difference (P > 0.05) in other genotypes except weak metabolic genotypes (*5/*5, *5/*15 and *15/*15) between the Han and the Li peoples. Conclusion: The gene frequency of SLCO1B1 weak metabolic genotype is dramatically higher in the Li people of Hainan Island than that of the Han people in both Hainan Island and Central and South China, but there is no significant difference in ApoE gene frequency among them. Therefore, clinicians should adjust the dosage of statins and select the types of lipid-lowering drugs according to the differences in patients’ genotypes, and strengthen the management of patients with ApoE4 risk gene. 展开更多

[Methods] A total of 2715 paternity testing cases accepted by the Forensic Me... <span>[Objective] To analyze the mutation signature and regularity of STR locus on 23 autosomes in paternity testing cases in Hainan. [Methods] A total of 2715 paternity testing cases accepted by the Forensic Medical Identification Centre of our hospital from 2017 to 2020 derived from counties and cities in Hainan Province were collected, the cases containing gene mutations were selected, the mutation rate and details of each locus were counted, and the mutation regu-larity of 23 STR loci was analyzed. [Results] Of the 2715 cases identified as “support”, 1487 were triplet cases and 1640 were dyad cases, totaling 4614 meioses;There were 50 gene mutation events (including 17 triplet mutations and 33 dyad mutations), with an average mutation rate of 0.0047% and a cumulative mutation rate of 1.0837%. A total of 19 of the 23 STR loci were mutated, with a mutation rate of 0.1301% at the D12S391 locus and 0.0217% at five loci, TPOX, D1S1656, D2S441, D22S1045, and PentaD, while no muta-tion events were found at four loci, D19S433, TH01, D13S317, and D7S820. Of the 50 mutation events, 47 were one-step mutations, 1 was two-step, and 2 were three-step. There were 35 paternal mutations (13 triplets and 22 dyads), 6 maternal mutations (4 triplets and 2 dyads), and 9 indeterminate pater-nal/maternal mutations, with a paternal to maternal mutation ratio of 5.83:1. [Conclusion] The mutation rate of D12S391 locus is the highest, and the muta-tion rate of TPOX, D1S1656, D2S441, D22S1045 and PentaD loci is the lowest in Hainan population, and paternal mutations are more than maternal muta-tions. In the paternity test, if 1 - 3 STR loci do not conform to the genetic law, especially when the mutant locus is homozygous or the next of kin is identi-fied, it is necessary to use other kits to review and increase the number of loci or use the second-generation sequencing technology to confirm, carefully de-termine the mutation and ensure the accuracy of the identification conclusion.</span> 展开更多

Results: according to the list of causes of abdominal pain, the causes of acute abdominal pain were screened, and patients suffering from acute renal infarction (ARI) who presented with simple abdominal pain were diagnosed and treated timely. Value of Real-Time Bedside Ultrasonography in the Etiologic Diagnosis of Acute Dyspnea

<strong>Objective: </strong>To explore the value of real-time bedside ultrasonography in the etiologic diagnosis of acute dyspnea.<strong> Methods:</strong> Sixty-two patients with acute dyspne... <strong>Objective: </strong>To explore the value of real-time bedside ultrasonography in the etiologic diagnosis of acute dyspnea.<strong> Methods:</strong> Sixty-two patients with acute dyspnea who were treated in our hospital from January 2016 to December 2020 were randomly selected and their clinical data were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were randomly divided into a control group for routine examinations (n = 31) and an observation group for real-time beside ultrasonography (n = 31). The costs of medical examinations, examination duration, and diagnostic results of severe pneumonia, acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema, pulmonary embolism, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and pneumothorax (including sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and diagnostic accuracy) of the two groups of patients were compared and analyzed. <strong>Results:</strong> Compared with the control group, the observation group had significantly shorter examinations (P < 0.05). Although the cost of medical examinations of the observation group tended to be higher, the difference between groups was not significant (P > 0.05). Moreover, there were no significant differences in left ventricular ejection fraction, left ventricular end-diastolic diameter, or brain natriuretic peptide between the two groups (P > 0.05). Comparison of the etiologic diagnosis results between the two groups showed that the observation group had significantly higher diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values, and diagnostic accuracy for various causes compared with the control group (P < 0.05). <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Real-time bedside ultrasonography for the etiologic diagnosis of patients with acute dyspnea was quicker and had higher diagnostic accuracy;thus providing accurate guidance for the disease treatment, and having a higher promotional value in clinical practice compared with routine examinations. 展开更多

The pathogenesis and treatment mechanism of AD are not completely clear. In recent years, it has been found that the Gut microbiota (GM) disorder is related to nervous system diseases. The objective of this review is to summarize the etiology and pathogenyon the role of GM in the development of AD, metabolites of GM and the occurrence of AD, and GM, diabetes and occurrence of AD. Understanding the relationship between GM and AD will help provide possible interventions to improve the structure of GM and prevent AD through different treatments, and it may provide clinicians with a new and more effective way for early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of AD. 展开更多

With regard to the structures subjected to severe mechanical-thermal coupling fatigue conditions,the consistency between service conditions and loading conditions was the prerequisite for the fatigue prop-erties test and fatigue life prediction.A miniature piezoelectric-driven instrument integrating with a tripodal piezoelectric actuator and envelope-type heating function was developed to investigate the mechanical-thermal coupling fatigue properties and obtain the fatigue life of materials under approximate service conditions.A physical model was described to quantitatively calculate the alternating deformation under the mechanical-thermal coupling tensile-bending combined condition.Accordingly,a fatigue life prediction method based on the Coffin-Manson equation under tensile-bending combined loading was proposed to estimate the mechanical-thermal coupling fatigue life in terms of the total coupling defor-mation and plastic strain amplitude.The feasibility of the proposed instrument was verified through the analysis of displacement responses of high entropy alloy specimens under the thermal-mechanical cou-pling tensile-bending combined condition at temperatures ranging from RT to 600°C.The comparison between fatigue lives directly measured through thermal-mechanical coupling experiments and theoreti-cally predicted fatigue lives indicated the availability of the modified Coffin-Manson equation. 展开更多

Graphene(Gr)reinforced high-entropy alloy(HEA)matrix composites are expected as potential candidates for next-generation structural applications in light of outstanding mechanical properties.A deep comprehension of the underlying deformation mechanisms under extreme shock loading is of paramount importance,however,remains lacking due to experimentally technical limitations in existence.In the present study,by means of nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations,dynamic deformation behaviors and corresponding mechanisms in equiatomic FeNiCrCoCu HEA/Gr composite systems were investigated in terms of various shock velocities.The resistance to dislocation propagation imparted by Gr was corroborated to encourage the elevated local stress level by increasing the likelihood of dislocation interplays,which facilitated the onset of twins and hexagonal close-packed(HCP)martensite laths.Meanwhile,the advent of Gr was demonstrated to endow the HEA with an additional twinning pathway that induced a structural conversion from HCP to parent face-centered cubic(FCC)inside HCP martensite laths,different from the classical one that necessitated undergoing the intermediate procedure of extrinsic stacking fault(ESF)evolution.More than that,by virtue of an increase in flow stress,the transformation-induced plasticity(TRIP)effect was validated to be additionally evoked as the predominant strain accommodation mechanism at higher strains on the one hand,but which only assisted plasticity in pure systems,and on the other hand,can also act as an auxiliary regulation mode together with the twinning-induced plasticity(TWIP)effect under intermediate strains,but with enhanced contributions relative to pure systems.One may expect that TRIP and TWIP effects promoted by introducing Gr would considerably inspire a synergistic effect between strength and ductility,contributing to the exceptional shock-resistant performance of FeNiCrCoCu HEAs under extreme regimes. 展开更多

Drug delivery to the brain is crucial in the treatment for central nervous system disorders.While significant progress has been made in recent years,there are still major challenges in achieving controllable drug delivery to the brain.Unmet clinical needs arise from various factors,including controlled drug transport,handling large drug doses,methods for crossing biological barriers,the use of imaging guidance,and effective models for analyzing drug delivery.Recent advances in micro/nanosystems have shown promise in addressing some of these challenges.These include the utilization of microfluidic platforms to test and validate the drug delivery process in a controlled and biomimetic setting,the development of novel micro/nanocarriers for large drug loads across the blood-brain barrier,and the implementation of micro-intervention systems for delivering drugs through intraparenchymal or peripheral routes.In this article,we present a review of the latest developments in micro/nanosystems for controllable drug delivery to the brain.We also delve into the relevant diseases,biological barriers,and conventional methods.In addition,we discuss future prospects and the development of emerging robotic micro/nanosystems equipped with directed transportation,real-time image guidance,and closed-loop control. 展开更多

Plastic deformation mechanisms at micro/nanoscale of graphene oxide-reinforced high-entropy alloy composites(HEA/GO)remain unclear.In this study,small-scale mechanical behaviors were evaluated for HEA/GO composites with 0.0 wt.%,0.3 wt.%,0.6 wt.%,and 1.0wt.%GO,consisting of compression testing on micropillar and molecular dynamics(MD)simulations on nanopillars.The experimental results uncovered that the composites exhibited a higher yield strength and flow stress compared with pure HEA micropillar,resulting from the GO reinforcement and grain refinement strengthening.This was also confirmed by the MD simulations of pure HEA and HEA/GO composite nanopillars.The immobile<100>interstitial dislocations also participated in the plastic deformation of composites,in contrast to pure HEA counterpart where only mobile 1/2<111>perfect dislocations dominated deformation,leading to a higher yield strength for composite.Meanwhile,the MD simulations also revealed that the flow stress of composite nanopillar was significantly improved due to GO sheet effectively impeded dislocation movement.Furthermore,the mechanical properties of HEA/1.0 wt.%GO composite showed a slight reduction compared with HEA/0.6 wt.%GO composite.This correlated with the compositional segregation of Cr carbide and aggregation of GO sheets,indicative of lower work hardening rate in stress-strain curves of micropilar compression. 展开更多

Here,a systematic investigation was made on the interphase strengthening effects induced superior me-chanical performances of multiphase high-entropy alloys(HEAs)at micro/nano-scale,compared with sin-gle phase HEAs.A pillar compression test under a scanning electron microscope(SEM)was performed on the individual face centered cubic(FCC),body centered cubic(BCC),and mixed-phases with different di-ameters in a Fe_(24)Co_(25)Ni_(24)Cr_(23)Al_(4)HEA using focused ion beam(FIB)milling and a nanoindenter equipped with a flat punch.The stress-strain response of pillar underneath the indenter was selected to explore the diameter/phase-dependent size effect,the periodically fluctuation of local stress,and strain hardening.It was revealed that the pillars at the interphase exhibited significantly higher strength,compared with the FCC and BCC pillars.An experiment also verified the coincident mechanical size effects independent with the type of phases.The stress responses in the mixed-phase pillars manifested as a distinct transition from the dramatic drop to the minor fluctuation during the post-yield stages with the increasing strain,indicating the propagation of Al-Ni enriched solid solution phase(BCC1)under compression.Except the BCC1 phase,numerous dislocations were observed in the post-deformed pillars,particularly serving as the major source to enhance the strain hardening of BCC pillars. 展开更多

Inertial microfluidics utilizing passive hydrodynamic forces has been attracting significant attention in the field of precise microscale manipulation owing to its low cost,simplicity and high throughput.In this paper,we present a novel channel design with a series of reverse wavy channel structures for sheathless inertial particle focusing and cell sorting.A single wavy channel unit consists of four semicircular segments,which produce periodically reversed Dean secondary flow along the cross-section of the channel.The balance between the inertial lift force and the Dean drag force results in deterministic equilibrium focusing positions,which also depends on the size of the flow-through particles and cells.Six sizes of fluorescent microspheres(15,10,7,5,3 and 1μm)were used to study the sizedependent inertial focusing behavior.Our novel design with sharp-turning subunits could effectively focus particles as small as 3μm,the average size of platelets,enabling the sorting of cancer cells from whole blood without the use of sheath flows.Utilizing an optimized channel design,we demonstrated the size-based sorting of MCF-7 breast cancer cells spiked in diluted whole blood samples without using sheath flows.A single sorting process was able to recover 89.72% of MCF-7 cells from the original mixture and enrich MCF-7 cells from an original purity of 5.3% to 68.9% with excellent cell viability. 展开更多
