This review discussed the relationship among copper, human, and bacteria.Copper plays an important role in human immunity.Copper can boost human immune defense reactions at recommended intake level. The content mainly focused on copper antibacterial activity and copper antibacterial mechanisms. Conclusions stated that copper antibacterial activity is affected by copper homeostasis mechanisms in bacteria, adhesion, humidity, strain specificity, and manufacturing methods of antibacterial agents. For the preparation of particle antibacterial agents and surface antibacterial agents, this review discussed several manufacturing methods, such as sol−gel, cold spray, and biosynthesis belonging to chemical synthesis, physical synthesis, and biological synthesis, respectively.Sol−gel method contributes to the preparation of particle agents and surface agents.Cold spray technique is utilized in synthesis of surface copper agent.Biosynthesis is a novel technology which can be applied in nanoparticle agent preparation. 展开更多

The porous NiTi(pNiTi)samples were produced by sintering evaporation using Ti−50.8Ni(at.%)gasatomized powders. The samples were analyzed by metallographic microscope and X-ray dispersive spectroscopy(XRD).A comparison of nickel(Ni)release and cytocompatibility between pNiTi and dense NiTi(dNiTi)was made. The results showed that the pNiTi has good mechanical properties.Ni releases from pNiTi in vitro and in vivo are more serious than those form dNiTi.The proliferation and differentiation of cells cultured with the pNiTi extracting liquid are significantly worse, and the rate of early apoptosis is higher. In conclusion,pNiTi is mechanically similar to bone, but pNiTi releases more Ni and interferes with cell proliferation and differentiation.A significantly cautious approach should be adopted when using it as a medical implant. 展开更多

Objective: : To explore the value of a combined computed tomography(CT) and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) in evaluating profound sensorineural deafness patients before cochlear implant(CI) surgery. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 1012 cases of profound sensorineural deafness that received CI was performed. Results: A total of 96 cases were diagnosed with inner ear abnormalities including large vestibular aqueduct syndrome(LVAS, n ? 61), Michel deformity(n ? 3), cochlear incomplete partition I(n ? 2), cochlear incomplete partition II(n ? 6), cochlear hypoplasia with vestibular malformation(n ? 3), cochlear ossification(n ? 3), bilateral internal auditory canal obstruction(n ? 5) and internal auditory canal stenosis(n ? 2).Conclusion: High resolution CT(HRCT) can display bony structures while MRI can image the membranous labyrinth in preoperative evaluation for cochlear implantation. The combination of these two modalities provides reliable anatomical information regarding the bony and membranous labyrinths, as well as the auditory nerve. 展开更多
