With cell free fermentation broth containing laccase, high decolorization ratio was achieved for acid orange 7, but not for the other dyes concerned. The immobilized mycelium was proved to be more efficient than the cell free system. All the four dyestuffs studied were found being decolourized with certain extent by immobilized mycelium. The repeated batch decolorization was carried out with satisfactory results. The experimental data showed that the continuous decolorization of wastewater from a printing and dyeing industry was possible by using the self immobilized C. Versicolor.展开更多

[ Method ] Firstly, the effects of temperature, pH, indigo concentration, HBT concentration, laccase dosage on the decolorization of indigo dyeing wastewater by laccase/HBT, and then the synergism of laccase and acid cellulase was analyzed. [Result] Using ABTS as the substrate, the kinetic parame- ters, K,, and Vmax, were 0.318 mmol/L and 0.035 5 mmol/( L . min) respectively. The decolorization rate of indigo reached 96.5% when the lacca- se acted on indigo for 40 min with HBT as an introducer at temperature 50 ℃, pH =4.5, indigo concentration 100 mg/L, HBT concentration 0.1% and laccase dosage 100 lU/L. Due to the synergism of laccase and acid cellulase during the bio-finishing of blue jeans, the backstaining degree of blue jeans reduced by 85% when the amount of laccase added was 15 000 IU/kg. Menawhile, the synergism of the laccase and acid cellulase de- creased indigo concentration in wastewater by 83.8%. [ Conclusion ] The laccase from Coriolus versicolor had a good prospect in the bio-finishing of blue jeans and the decolorization of indigo dyeing wastewater.展开更多

The effect of cultivation conditions on laccase production by Coriolus versicolor was examined to obtain optimal medium and cultivation conditions. Both batch and repeated batch processes were performed for laccase production. In repeated batch fermentation with self immobilized mycelia, total of 14 cycles were performed with laccase activity in the range between 3.4 and 14.8 U/ml.展开更多

The present paper reports on the experimental research done with this drug. It was found that PSP had the ability to recover hemolysin HC50, to increase the weight of the thymus, and increase the alexin of serum C3 and the IgG content of tumor bearing mice. FSP also significantly raised the pha-gocytic activity of macrophages in normal mice. PSP had a significant inhibitory effect on P38S and S180 cells. At the concentration of 1 mg/ml, PSP inhibited the proliferating activity of some human tumor call lines, such as SGC 7901, SPC, SLY and Mei. It had a direct toxic effect on SPC cells. PSP significantly inhibited the synthesis of nucleic acids of Ehrlich ascites carcinoma cells. In addition, PSP was antagonistic to the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.展开更多

The authors tried to ferment using lactobacilli associated with various biological functions and expected that fermented extract by lactobacilli will be superior to non-fermented extract in antioxidant activity. C. versicolor was extracted with 70% ethanol and then it was fermented by Lactobacillus acidophilus KCTC3164 and Lactobacillus plantarum KCTC3099, respectively. 1,l-dipheny|-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging activity, superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like activity and tetrazolium salt 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assays were performed. DPPH scavenging activity of fermented extract by L. acidophilus was higher than fermented extract by L. plantarum and antioxidant effect of fermented extract was 20%-30% higher than non-fermented extract. SOD-like activity was represented 18% in fermented extract by L. acidophilus, and was 27% in fermented extract by L. plantarum higher than non-fermented extract. As a result, this study suggests that it may need an efficient protocol for dominant bio-physiological activities such as extract volume or appropriate working volume of cultured cell or mixture condition. The fermented C. versicolor extract should provide with useful antioxidant agent in the human skin.展开更多

The experiments were run continuously for seven cycles of 8 d each. High decolorizing activity was observed even during the repeated reuse of the fungus, especially when the old medium was replaced with fresh medium after every cycle. Biodegradation was the dominating factor as the fungus was able to produce the enzyme laccase mainly, to mineralize synthetic dyes. The nutrients and composition of the medium played important roles in sustaining the decolorisation potential of the fungus. Corncob was found be an easy and cheap substitute for carbon source for the fungus. Glucose consumption by the fungus was in accordance to its decolorisation activity and chemical oxygen demand (COD) reduction.展开更多
