This paper explores the critical regionalism which could play a role in the continued development of global era Polish architecture, and the advancements achieved by those few contemporary Polish architects who have sought to combine modern tastes and techniques with culturally meaningful designs. The new culture of Poland is very much reflected in the design of many of its new buildings that have been completed since the political and economic changes in 1989. The architecture of Poland appears to have lurched from an inappropriate socialist modernism that was so horridly imposed during the communist era to an equally inappropriate post modernist hegemony in the new enterprise culture. In accordance with Poland, now is rejection of the centrally imposed system of building and architecture, and with the greater emphasis on individual initiative in the new culture, it seems a pity that the country should automatically adopt western modes of architectural expression. This paper suggests that with its newly founded freedom, Poland should be careful that it does not suffer a loss of identity and that, in its architecture, it should seek a way forward through a critical regionalism. 展开更多

An equation of state (EOS) applicable for both the uniform and non-uniform fluids was established by using the density-gradient expansion, in which the influence parameter x[ρ(r),T] was obtained by the use of direct correlation function. The density functional theory (DFT) provides a framework under which both the phase equilibria and interfacial properties can be investigated within a single set of molecular parameters. The phase equilibria inside the critical region can be improved by the renormalization group theory (RGT). However, the correction of interfacial properties by DFT and RGT is computationally difficult. In the present work, the density gradient theory (DGT) in which κ[ρ(r),T] is treated as a constant is used to combine with the RGT for interfacial properties inside the critical region. 展开更多

Characteristics of Strain Release before Large Earthquakes of M≥7. 0 in the Chinese Mainland

The enumerating algorithm has been introduced into the fitting procedure of the ASR model. Based on the detailed study of 21 large earthquakes with M≥6. 8 in the Chinese Mainland,the statistical features of seismic strain release before large earthquakes have been summarized. In the mass,the strain release models can be divided into five types. The first is the DA model,in which the strain release accelerates in broader areas and decelerates in small areas around the epicenter. Approximately 38% of earthquake samples are of this type. The second is the AD model,in which the strain release decelerates in broader areas and accelerates in smaller areas around the epicenter with an occupying ratioof approximately 19%. The third is ASR,in which only accelerating strain release can be observed. Cases of this model amount to about 14%. The fourth is DSR,in which only decelerating strain release can be checked,amounting to about 24%. There is only one earthquake sample of the fifth type (LSR),which shows a linear strain release. There is a 3~6 years difference in the duration of pre-shock sequences between the accelerating and decelerating models. This means that seismic quiescence against a background of increased seismicity of small earthquakes before large earthquakes are a typical feature in general. For the DA model,the average size of critical regions for steady accelerating and decelerating strain release is about 260km to 400km and 100km to 200km,respectively,3 to 5 times and 1 to 2 times the rupture size of an earthquake of magnitude 7. 0. The AD model is the opposite of the DA model. The model parameter,m value,has good stability. The ratio of ASR is about the same for accelerating seismic strain release phenomena,no matter what the strain release models are,or how large the strain release quantity is. With regard to decelerating seismic strain release phenomena, the DA model has the most distinctive decelerating strain release characteristic and is the typical feature of seismic strain release,i. e. "decelerating in-accelerating out seismic strain model". 展开更多

The rules such as process parameters affecting joint properties and theevolution principle of weld's microstructure have been researched by adopting diffusion weldingprocess to connect SiC_w/6061Al composite. Experimental results show that there exists a criticaltemperature region between solid and liquid phase line of SiC_w/6061Al composite, and the regionwill shrink with the increasing of welding pressure. When diffusion welding occurred under thecritical temperature region, welding joint exhibits bad property of bonding, and the matrix and thereinforcement can't bond effectively. When diffusion welding occurred in the critical temperatureregion, the strength of welding joint changes widely with the variation of welding temperature. Whenwelding temperature varies in 10 deg C, the strength of welding joint will change obviously. Onlywhen welding temperature is higher than the critical temperature region, stable joint properties canbe obtained. Simultaneously the matrix and the reinforcement has better interfacial bonded indiffusion welding interface, and no obvious interface reaction occurred, and thus diffusion weldingof SiC_w/6061 Al composite can be successfully realized. 展开更多

A secure and rapid response architecture for virtual machine migration from an untrusted hypervisor to a trusted one 被引量:1

Two key issues exist during virtual machine (VM) migration in cloud computing. One is when to start migration, and the other is how to determine a reliable target, both of which totally depend on whether the source hypervisor is trusted or not in previous studies. However, once the source hypervisor is not trusted any more, migration will be facing unprecedented challenges. To address the problems, we propose a secure architecture SMIG (secure migration), which defines a new concept of Region Critical TCB and leverages an innovative adjacent integrity measurement (AIM) mechanism. AIM dynamically monitors the integrity of its adjacent hypervisor, and passes the results to the Re- gion Critical TCB, which then determines whether to start migration and where to migrate according to a table named integrity validation table. We have implemented a prototype of SMIG based on the Xen hypervisor. Experimental evaluation result shows that SMIG could detect a malicious hypervisor and start migration to a trusted one rapidly, only incurring a moderate overhead for computing intensive and I/O intensive tasks, and small for others. 展开更多
