The most common approach to restrain the rotor vibration in AMBs is to adopt a notch filter or adaptive filter in the AMB controller. However, these methods cannot obtain the precise amplitude and phase of the compensation current. Thus, they are not so effective in terms of suppressing the vibrations of the fundamental and other harmonic orders over the whole speed range. To improve the vibration suppression performance of AMBs,an adaptive filter based on Least Mean Square(LMS) is applied to extract the vibration signals from the rotor displacement signal. An Iterative Search Algorithm(ISA) is proposed in this paper to obtain the corresponding relationship between the compensation current and vibration signals. The ISA is responsible for searching the compensating amplitude and shifting phase online for the LMS filter, enabling the AMB controller to generate the corresponding compensation force for vibration suppression. The results of ISA are recorded to suppress vibration using the Look-Up Table(LUT) in variable speed range. Comprehensive simulations and experimental validations are carried out in fixed and variable speed range, and the results demonstrate that by employing the ISA, vibrations of the fundamental and other harmonic orders are suppressed effectively.展开更多

文摘Rolling bearings are key components of the drivetrain in wind turbines, and their health is critical to wind turbine operation. In practical diagnosis tasks, the vibration signal is usually interspersed with many disturbing components, and the variation of operating conditions leads to unbalanced data distribution among different conditions.Although intelligent diagnosis methods based on deep learning have been intensively studied,it is still challenging to diagnose rolling bearing faults with small amounts of samples. To address the above issue,we introduce the deep residual joint transfer strategy method for the cross-condition fault diagnosis of rolling bearings.One-dimensional vibration signals are pre-processed by overlapping feature extraction techniques to fully extract fault characteristics. The deep residual network is trained in training tasks with sufficient samples, for fault pattern classification.Subsequently, three transfer strategies are used to explore the generalizability and adaptability of the pre-trained models to the data distribution in target tasks.Among them, the feature transferability between different tasks is explored by model transfer, and it is validated that minimizing data differences of tasks through a dual-stream adaptation structure helps to enhance generalization of the models to the target tasks. In the experiments of rolling bearing faults with unbalanced data conditions, localized faults of motor bearings and planet bearings are successfully identified, and good fault classification results are achieved, which provide guidance for the cross-condition fault diagnosis of rolling bearings with small amounts of training data.

文摘On the base of controllable variable stiffness property, variable stiffness composites were the main components of functional materials in aerospace. However, the relatively low mechanical strength, stiffness range, and response rate restricted the application of variable stiffness composite. In this work, the novel variable stiffness composite system with characteristics of repeatable high load bearing and response rate was successfully prepared via the double-layer anisotropic structure to solve the bottlenecks of variable stiffness composites. The novel variable stiffness composite systems were composed of variable stiffness layer of polycaprolactone(PCL)and the driven layer of silicone elastomer with alcohol, which continuously changed Young’s modulus from 0.1 to 7.263 MPa(72.63 times variation)in 200 s and maintained maximum weight of 11.52 times its own weight(8.5 g).Attributed to the relatively high variable stiffness range and load bearing value of variable stiffness composite system, the repeatable response process led to the efficient high load driven as“muscle”and diversified precise grab of objects with different shapes as“gripper”,owning widespread application prospects in the field of bionics.

文摘This paper aims to determine the load bearing capacity of pre-stressed expandable props with different geometries and load eccentricities for flexible support in underground mining or excavation. It is deduced that the expandable device could have much higher strength(>89 MPa)by laboratory tests, and the load bearing capacity of the expandable prop may depend on the stability of the supporting steel pipe structure.A good agreement was found between the laboratory test and numerical results in terms of the load bearing capacity and the final macro-bending failure pattern for expandable props with heights of 1.5 and 2.7 m,and the theoretical calculation for the strength of traditional steel structures is not directly suitable for the expandable props. Moreover, additional numerical simulations were performed for the expandable props with different normalized slenderness ratiosλ_(n)and loading eccentric distances e.The variation of stability coefficient of the expandable prop is in line with the Perry-Robertson equation and its correlation coefficients are fitted as a of 0.979 and b of 0.314.For estimating the load bearing capacity of the expandable props, the strength equation for traditional steel structures is improved by introducing a bending magnification factor and by modifying the normalized slenderness ratio to a converted slenderness ratio.Based on the underground field monitoring for the strength of expandable props with different heights, the empirical eccentric distances were back calculated, and a safety factor is introduced to obtain the designed strength of the expandable prop.In addition,a four-step design procedure is proposed for the expandable prop.

文摘Slope bearing capacity is one of the most important characteristics in slope engineering and is strongly influenced by weak planes, loading conditions, and slope geometry.By presenting the evolution of slip surfaces, this paper explored how the slope bearing capacity is affected by widely observed influencing factors. The initiation and propagation of slip surfaces are presented in laboratory model tests of slope using the transparent soil technique.Shear band evolution under various weak planes, loading conditions, and slope geometries were experimentally presented, and slope bearing capacities were analyzed with the process of shear band evolution. This paper verified that slip surface morphologies have a strong relation with the slope bearing capacity. The same slip surface morphology can have different evolutionary processes. In this case,it is the shear band evolution that determines the slope bearing capacity, not the morphology of the slip surface. The influencing factors such as pre-existing weak planes, loading conditions, and slope geometry strongly affect the slope bearing capacity as these factors govern the process of shear band evolution inside the slope.

文摘This paper presents a theoretical and experimental study on controller design for the AMBs in a small-scale flywheel energy storage system, where the main goals are to achieve low energy consumption and improved rotordynamic stability.A H-infinity optimal control synthesis procedure is defined for the permanent-magnet-biased AMB-rotor system with 4 degrees of freedom.Through the choice of design weighting functions, notch filter characteristics are incorporated within the controller to reduce AMB current components caused by rotor vibration at the synchronous frequency and higher harmonics.Experimental tests are used to validate the controller design methodology and provide comparative results on performance and efficiency. The results show that the H-infinity controller is able to achieve stable rotor levitation and reduce AMB power consumption by more than 40%(from 4.80 to 2.64 Watts)compared with the conventional PD control method.Additionally, the H-infinity controller can prevent vibrational instability of the rotor nutation mode, which is prone to occur when operating with high rotational speeds.

文摘Tunnel-type anchorages(TTAs)installed in human gathering areas are characterized by a shallow burial depth, and in many instances, they utilize soft rock as the bearing stratum. However, the stability control measures and the principle of shallow TTAs in soft rock have not been fully studied.Hence,a structure suitable for improving the stability of shallow TTAs in soft rock strata, named the anti-pull tie(APT),was added to the floor of the back face.Physical tests and numerical models were established to study the influence of the APT on the load transfer of TTAs,the mechanical response of the surrounding rock, the stress distribution of the interface, and the failure model. The mechanical characteristics of APTs were also studied. The results show that the ultimate bearing capacity of TTAs with an APT is increased by approximately 11.8%,as compared to the TTAs without an APT.Also, the bearing capacity of TTAs increases approximately linearly with increasing height, width, length, and quantity of APTs,and decreases approximately linearly with increasing distance from the back face and slope angle of the tie slope. The normal squeezing between the tie slope and the surrounding rock increases the shear resistance of the interface and expands the range of the surrounding rock participating in bearing sharing. Both tension and compression zones exist in the APT during loading. The tension zone extends from the tie toe to the tie bottom along the tie slope. The range of the tie body tension zone constantly expands to the deep part of the APT with an increasing load. The peak tensile stress value is located at the tie toe.The distribution of compressive stress in the tie body is the largest at the tie top, followed by the tie slope, and then the tie bottom.

文摘Convolutional neural networks(CNNs)are well suited to bearing fault classification due to their ability to learn discriminative spectro-temporal patterns. However, gathering sufficient cases of faulty conditions in real-world engineering scenarios to train an intelligent diagnosis system is challenging. This paper proposes a fault diagnosis method combining several augmentation schemes to alleviate the problem of limited fault data.We begin by identifying relevant parameters that influence the construction of a spectrogram. We leverage the uncertainty principle in processing time-frequency domain signals, making it impossible to simultaneously achieve good time and frequency resolutions.A key determinant of this phenomenon is the window function's choice and length used in implementing the shorttime Fourier transform. The Gaussian,Kaiser, and rectangular windows are selected in the experimentation due to their diverse characteristics. The overlap parameter's size also influences the outcome and resolution of the spectrogram.A 50%overlap is used in the original data transformation,and±25%is used in implementing an effective augmentation policy to which two-stage regular CNN can be applied to achieve improved performance. The best model reaches an accuracy of 99.98%and a cross-domain accuracy of 92.54%.When combined with data augmentation, the proposed model yields cutting-edge results.

文摘The failure rate of crankpin bearing bush of diesel engine under complex working conditions such as high temperature, dynamic load and variable speed is high. After serious wear,it is easy to deteriorate the stress state of connecting rod body and connecting rod bolt, resulting in serious accidents such as connecting rod fracture and body damage.Based on the mixed lubrication characteristics of connecting rod big endbearing shell of diesel engine under high explosion pressure impact load,an improved mixed lubrication mechanism model is established, which considers the influence of viscoelastic micro deformation of bearing bush material, integrates the full film lubrication model and dry friction model, couples dynamic equation of connecting rod. Then the actual lubrication state of big end bearing shell is simulated numerically.Further, the correctness of the theoretical research results is verified by fault simulation experiments. The results show that the high-frequency impact signal with fixed angle domain characteristics will be generated after the serious wear of bearing bush and the deterioration of lubrication state. The fault feature capture and alarm can be realized through the condition monitoring system, which can be applied to the fault monitoring of connecting rod bearing bush of diesel engine in the future.

文摘In this study,an optimized long short-term memory(LSTM)network is proposed to predict the reliability and remaining useful life(RUL)of rolling bearings based on an improved whale-optimized algorithm(IWOA).The multi-domain features are extracted to construct the feature dataset because the single-domain features are difficult to characterize the performance degeneration of the rolling bearing. To provide covariates for reliability assessment,a kernel principal component analysis is used to reduce the dimensionality of the features.A Weibull distribution proportional hazard model(WPHM)is used for the reliability assessment of rolling bearing, and a beluga whale optimization(BWO)algorithm is combined with maximum likelihood estimation(MLE)to improve the estimation accuracy of the model parameters of the WPHM,which provides the data basis for predicting reliability.Considering the possible gradient explosion by training the rolling bearing lifetime data and the difficulties in selecting the key network parameters,an optimized LSTM network called the improved whale optimization algorithm-based long short-term memory(IWOA-LSTM)network is proposed. As IWOA better jumps out of the local optimization, the fitting and prediction accuracies of the network are correspondingly improved. The experimental results show that compared with the whale optimization algorithm-based long short-term memory(WOA-LSTM)network,the reliability prediction and RUL prediction accuracies of the rolling bearing are improved by the proposed IWOA-LSTM network.

文摘Effective bearing fault diagnosis is vital for the safe and reliable operation of rotating machinery. In practical applications, bearings often work at various rotational speeds as well as load conditions.Yet,the bearing fault diagnosis under multiple conditions is a new subject, which needs to be further explored. Therefore,a multi-scale deep belief network(DBN)method integrated with attention mechanism is proposed for the purpose of extracting the multi-scale core features from vibration signals, containing four primary steps:preprocessing of multi-scale data, feature extraction, feature fusion, and fault classification. The key novelties include multi-scale feature extraction using multi-scale DBN algorithm, and feature fusion using attention mecha-nism.The benchmark dataset from University of Ottawa is applied to validate the effectiveness as well as advantages of this method.Furthermore, the aforementioned method is compared with four classical fault diagnosis methods reported in the literature, and the comparison results show that our pro-posed method has higher diagnostic accuracy and better robustness.
