This research was intended to apply action research to the construction of multiple learning evaluation system with the aim of proving the effectiveness of the system on raising students' learning autonomy to find problems in the teaching, to testify the problems through questionnaire, then to design a feasible teaching strategy and carry out an experimental teaching, and finally to reflect on the whole teaching process from the perspective of how well the learner's learning autonomy was enhanced. The research result is valid, positively testifying the presupposition that the Multiple Evaluation System is a comprehensive one, which makes it possible to evaluate the students' progress in the whole learning process.展开更多

We analyzed a f'mal examination in this subj...This work was aimed at assessing one of the examinations applied to the students enrolled in courses of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the School of Medicine, UNAM. We analyzed a f'mal examination in this subject. The test consisted of 80 multiple choice questions. The database was exported to Excel and then to the SPSS 16 statistical software for statistical analyses. The following techniques were used: (1) dificulty index (Pi), (2) discrimination index (Di), (3) discrimination coefficient (rpbis), and (4) Cronbach's alpha. Those questions that complied with 3 of the 4 mentioned techniques were considered acceptable; of the 80 questions, only 25 were accepted corresponding to 31%. The topic with the largest number of accepted questions was Water and pH (75%), and the topics without accepted questions were Bioenergetics and Hormones (0%). It is recommended that the faculty members that elaborate multiple choice examinations must know the subject, and should have a formation in didactics and educational methodology.展开更多
In the context of the highly demanding trend of equitable and quality education,digital technology has outlined a blueprint for sharing resources across spatial and temporal boundaries and learner differences.The hybr...In the context of the highly demanding trend of equitable and quality education,digital technology has outlined a blueprint for sharing resources across spatial and temporal boundaries and learner differences.The hybrid classroom implemented on university campuses during the pandemic demonstrates the tremendous shaping power of digital technology on teaching and learning across different groups,time,and space.This study investigates two types of learners,Clone Classroom and Global Hybrid Classroom at Tsinghua University,and finds that intrapersonal,interpersonal,and institutional dimensions of classroom climate all significantly affect learners’learning outcomes.However,the influences at the three dimensions differ in degree,with interpersonal factors outweighing institutional factors and institutional factors outweighing individual factors.Furthermore,in individual factors,information literacy and tech-assisted support in institutional factors have the weakest impact on learning outcomes;institutional factors mediate individual and interpersonal factors influencing higher-order cognition development.To avoid the pitfalls of techno-centrism,this study suggests promoting an insight of technology for humanity and embedding technology into teaching to better empower teacher development and student learning experience.展开更多

Epilepsy surgery has been accepted as an effective treatment in drug-resistant focal epilepsy.However,the number of epilepsy neurosurgeons is not enough in China compared with the huge demand.The content of epilepsy n...Epilepsy surgery has been accepted as an effective treatment in drug-resistant focal epilepsy.However,the number of epilepsy neurosurgeons is not enough in China compared with the huge demand.The content of epilepsy neurosurgeon cultivation includes surgery itself as well as presurgical evaluation.In this article,we review not only different categories of epilepsy surgeries but also the presurgical evaluation approaches including non-invasive methods,such as semiology analysis,high-resolution structural and functional imaging techniques,scalp electroencephalography monitoring as well as invasive methods,such as electrocorticography (ECoG) and stereotactic electroencephalography (SEEG).We also discuss the importance of learning each method briefly.In addition,we suggest that epilepsy neurosurgeons should have a solid structural and functional anatomy basis as it plays pivotal role in localizing epileptogenic zone.Epilepsy neurosurgeons should also be familiar with the staged presurgical evaluation starting from the most preliminary examinations and progressing to more complex and invasive methods.During the diagnosis and therapeutic procedures,collaboration between epilepsy neurosurgeons and other specialists is essential.At last,the necessity of epilepsy neurosurgeon cultivation has been emphasized.展开更多
