BACKGROUND The prominent symptoms of chronic pelvic pain syndrome(CPPS)are urogenital pain,lower urinary tract symptoms,psychological problems,and sexual dysfunction.Traditional pharmacological treatments have poor ef...BACKGROUND The prominent symptoms of chronic pelvic pain syndrome(CPPS)are urogenital pain,lower urinary tract symptoms,psychological problems,and sexual dysfunction.Traditional pharmacological treatments have poor efficacy and more untoward reaction and complications.Magnetic vibration magnetoelectric therapy is a non-invasive form of physiotherapy.Nevertheless,its effectiveness in improving urinary discomfort and relieving pain in patients requires further exploration.AIM To investigate the clinical efficacy of the magnetic vibration magnetoelectric therapy instrument in the treatment of chronic prostatitis(CP)/CPPS.METHODS Seventy patients with CP/CPPS were collected from the outpatient clinic and ward of the Department of Male Medicine,Jiangsu Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,and were treated with magnetic vibration magnetoelectric therapy once a day for a period of 14 d.National Institutes of healthchronic prostatitis symptom index(NIH-CPSI),international index of erectile function 5(IIEF-5),premature ejaculation diagnostic tool(PEDT),generalized anxiety disorder(GAD),patient health questionnaire,the pain catastrophizing scale(PCS)and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome(TCMS)scores were performed before and after treatment.RESULTS The total effective rate of treatment was 58.5%,and the total NIH-CPSI score,pain symptoms,voiding symptoms,quality of life,IIEF-5,PEDT,GAD,PCS and TCMS scores all decreased significantly(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Magnetic vibration magnetotherapy is effective in improving urinary discomfort,relieving pain,improving quality of life,improving sexual dysfunction and relieving negative emotions such as anxiety in patients with CP/CPPS.展开更多
Objective:To analyze the effect of limb rehabilitation therapy combined with transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy on muscle activity in patients with upper limb dysfunction after cerebral infarction(CI).Methods:3...Objective:To analyze the effect of limb rehabilitation therapy combined with transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy on muscle activity in patients with upper limb dysfunction after cerebral infarction(CI).Methods:320 patients with upper limb dysfunction after CI were selected,all of whom were treated in our hospital between June 2021 and June 2023.They were randomly grouped according to the lottery method into the control group(limb rehabilitation therapy,160 cases)and the intervention group(transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy+limb rehabilitation therapy,160 cases).The upper limb function scores,neuro-electrophysiological indicators,daily living ability scores,and quality of life scores of the two groups were compared.Results:Compared with the control group,upper limb function scores and daily living ability scores in the intervention group were higher after treatment,and the neuro-electrophysiological indicators of the intervention group were lower after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:Transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy combined with limb rehabilitation therapy has significant effects in patients with upper limb dysfunction after CI and is worthy of promotion and application.展开更多

Methods Twenty patients with spasmodic torticollis were treated by acupoint magnetic therapy at Fengchi (风池 GB 20), Dazhui (大椎 GV 24) and Shenzhu (身柱 GV 12). Once a day, ten days as a course of treatment, 24 treatments were given. Results Six cases were cured and 9 cases were markedly effective, 3 cases were effective and 2 cases were ineffective with the cured rate of 30% and the effective rate of 90%. To circumvent this obstacle, an injectable hydrogel(NO-Gel) composed of thermosensitive poly(ethylene glycol)-polypeptide copolymers modified with abundantNO donors on their side chains is developed. Meanwhile, ferrimagnetic Zn0.5Fe2.5O4 magnetic nanoparticles(MNPs) with high magnetic-heat conversion efficiency are synthesized and loaded into NO-Gel to obtainMNPs@NO-Gel. The MNPs@NO-Gel system exhibits a sol-gel transition upon heating, and has the ability toperform multiple magnetic hyperthermia therapy (MHT) after only one administration due to the even distributionand strong immobilization of MNPs in NO-Gel. NO can be continuously liberated from NO-Gel and thisprocess is markedly accelerated by MHT. Additionally, MNPs@NO-Gel maintains its integrity in vivo for over onemonth and the released MNPs are metabolized by the spleen. After a single administration of MNPs@NO-Gel atthe tumor site, three mild MHT treatments with similar effects are fulfilled, and the sufficient supply of NOeffectively inhibits MHT-induced autophagic flux via blocking the formation of autophagosomes and synchronouslydestroying lysosomes, thereby substantially boosting the efficacy of mild MHT. As a consequence, CT-26colon tumors are completely eliminated without causing severe side-effects.展开更多

However, the effect of the combined intervention program of LF-r TMS and i OT on cognitive function is unknown. We retrospectively investigated whether the combined treatment influence patient's Trail-Making Test part B(TMT-B) performance, which is a group of easy and inexpensive neuropsychological tests that evaluate several cognitive functions. Twenty-five patients received 11 sessions of LF-r TMS to the contralesional hemisphere and 2 sessions of i OT per day over 15 successive days. Patients with right- and left-sided hemiparesis demonstrated significant improvements in upper limb motor function following the combined intervention program. Only patients with right-sided hemiparesis exhibited improved TMT-B performance following the combined intervention program, and there was a significant negative correlation between Fugl-Meyer Assessment scale total score change and TMT-B performance. The results indicate the possibility that LF-r TMS to the contralesional hemisphere combined with i OT improves the upper limb motor function and cognitive function of patients with right-sided hemiparesis. However, further studies are necessary to elucidate the mechanism of improved cognitive function.展开更多

Methods: 247 cases of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc were treated first with manual treatment and then with plum-blossom magnetic needle therapy and effect-increasing pad therapy at specified points and reactive points. Results: After treatment for 2 therapeutic courses,153 cases were cured accounting for 61.94%, 71 cases were markedly effective accounting for 28.75%, 22 cases were improved accounting for 8.91% and the rest one failed,accounting for 0.45%. Invasive tumors are difficult to be completely resected in clinical surgery due to the lack of clear resection margins,which greatly increases the risk of postoperative recurrence.However,chemotherapy and radiotherapy...Invasive tumors are difficult to be completely resected in clinical surgery due to the lack of clear resection margins,which greatly increases the risk of postoperative recurrence.However,chemotherapy and radiotherapy as the traditional means of postoperative adjuvant therapy,are limited in postoperative applications,such as multi-drug resistance and low sensitivity,etc.Therefore,an engineered magnesium alloy rod is designed as a postoperative implant to completely remove postoperative residual tumor tissue and inhibit tumor recurrence by gas and mild magnetic hyperthermia therapy(MMHT).As a reactive metal,magnesium alloy responds to the acidic tumor microenvironment by continuously generating hydrogen.The in-situ generation of hydrogen not only protects the surrounding normal tissue,but also enables the magnesium alloy to achieve MMHT under lowintensity alternating magnetic field(AMF).Furthermore,the numerous reactive oxygen species(ROS)produced by heat stress will combine with nitric oxide(NO)generated in situ,to produce more toxic reactive nitrogen species(RNS)storm.In summary,engineered magnesium alloy can completely remove residual tumor tissue and inhibit tumor recurrence by MMHT and RNS storm under low-intensity AMF,and the biodegradability of magnesium alloy makes great potential for clinical application.展开更多

Tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)play an important role in tumor development and progression.In particular,M2 TAMs can promote tumor growth by facilitating tumor progression and malignant behaviors.Selectively target...Tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)play an important role in tumor development and progression.In particular,M2 TAMs can promote tumor growth by facilitating tumor progression and malignant behaviors.Selectively targeted elimination of M2 TAMs to inhibit tumor progression is of great significance for cancer treatment.Iron oxide nanoparticles based magnetic hyperthermia therapy(MHT)is a classical approach to destroy tumor tissue with deep penetration depth.In this study,we developed a typical M2 macrophage-targeted peptide(M2pep)functionalized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticle(SPIO)for magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)-guided MHT in an orthotopic breast cancer mouse model.The obtained multifunctional SPIO-M2pep with a hydrodynamic diameter of 20 nm showed efficient targeting capability,high transverse relaxivity(149 mM^(-1) s^(-1))and satisfactory magnetic hyperthermia performance in vitro.In vivo studies demonstrated that the SPIO-M2pep based MRI can monitor the distribution of nanoparticles in tumor and indicate the suitable timing for MHT.The M2 macrophage-targeted MHT significantly reduced the tumor volume and the population of pro-tumoral M2 TAMs in tumor.In addition,the SPIO-M2pep based MHT can remodel the tumor immune microenvironment(TIME).The multifunctional SPIO-M2pep with M2 macrophage-targeting ability,high magnetic hyperthermia efficiency,MR imaging capability and effective role in remodeling the TIME hold great potential to improve clinical cancer therapy outcomes.展开更多
