AIM:To assess glaucoma patient satisfaction and follow-up adherence in case management and identify associated predictors to improve healthcare quality and patient outcomes.METHODS:In this cross-sectional study,a total of 119 patients completed a Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire-18 and a sociodemographic questionnaire.Clinical data was obtained from the case management system.Follow-up adherence was defined as completing each follow-up within±30d of the scheduled time set by ophthalmologists during the study period.RESULTS:Average satisfaction scored 78.65±7,with an average of 4.39±0.58 across the seven dimensions.Age negatively correlated with satisfaction(P=0.008),whilst patients with follow-up duration of 2 or more years reported higher satisfaction(P=0.045).Multivariate logistics regression analysis revealed that longer follow-up durations were associated with lower follow-up adherence(OR=0.97,95%CI,0.95-1.00,P=0.044).Additionally,patients with suspected glaucoma(OR=2.72,95%CI,1.03-7.20,P=0.044)and those with an annual income over 100000 Chinese yuan demonstrated higher adherence(OR=5.57,95%CI,1.00-30.89,P=0.049).CONCLUSION:The case management model proves effective for glaucoma patients,with positive adherence rates.The implementation of this model can be optimized in the future based on the identified factors and extended to glaucoma patients in more hospitals. 展开更多

The success of teachers in professional environments has a desirable influence on their mental condition.Simply said,teachers’professional success plays a crucial role in improving their mental health.Due to the invaluable role of professional success in teachers’mental health,personal and professional variables helping teachers succeed in their profession need to be uncovered.While the role of teachers’personal qualities has been well researched,the function of professional variables has remained unknown.To address the existing gap,the current investigation measured the role of two professional variables,namely job satisfaction and loving pedagogy,in Chinese EFL teachers’professional success.To do this,three validated scales were provided to 1591 Chinese EFL teachers.Participants’answers to the questionnaires were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test and structural equation modeling.The data analysis demonstrated a strong,positive link between the variables.Moreover,loving pedagogy was found to be the positive,strong predictor of Chinese EFL teachers’job satisfaction and professional success.The findings of the current inquiry may help educational administrators enhance their instructors’professional success,which in turn promotes their mental and psychological conditions at work. 展开更多

As adolescent mental health problems are becoming a more serious issue globally,this paper explores the relationship of physical activity in adolescents and its frequency on mental health as well as examines the mediating effects of life satisfaction and self-rated health in order to provide a reference for the promotion of mental health in adolescents.A sample of 3578 Chinese high school students completed questionnaires assessing their mental health,physical activity frequency,life satisfaction,and self-rated health.The mean SCL-90 value for adolescents was found to be 1.629%,and 24.73%of adolescents had varying degrees of mental health issue.Increased physical activity frequency is positively associated with improved mental health(p<0.001).Additionally,life satisfaction and self-rated health were found to play significant mediating roles in the relationship between physical activity frequency and mental health.Specifically,low-frequency physical activity had the most pronounced mediating effect on mental health through life satisfaction,while high-frequency physical activity exerted the most significant mediating effect on mental health through self-rated health.These findings underscore the importance of promoting physical activity among adolescents and highlight the distinct pathways through which physical activity frequency can influence mental health outcomes.Further research is needed to explore these relationships in diverse populations and settings,as well as to develop targeted intervention. 展开更多

Background: Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an established treatment for patients with advanced Parkinson’s disease (PD). Reports show continued patient satisfaction after surgery despite not maintaining clinical improvement as measured by evolution scales. Objectives: The present study sought to explore expectations and level of satisfaction in patients after DBS surgery with a semi-structured questionnaire and subsequent correlation with functional scales, Quality of Life (QoL), and motor and non-motor symptoms. Methods: We performed descriptive statistics to represent demographic data, Wilcoxon rank tests to determine significant differences, and Spearman correlation between the applied scales. Results: We evaluated 20 patients with a history of DBS surgery. 45% were female, with a mean age of 55.7 ± 14.15 years, a mean disease duration of 13.42 ± 8.3 years, and a mean time after surgery of 3.18 ± 1.86 years. Patients reported surgery meeting expectations in 85.5% and continued satisfaction in 92%. These two variables showed a significant correlation. Conclusions: This sample of patients remained satisfied after DBS surgery, although we found no differences in motor and non-motor clinimetric scales. Further studies are needed to confirm the importance of assessing quality of life in patients with DBS. 展开更多

Objective:To investigate individual characteristics related to satisfaction with the quality of First Health Facility Services(FHFS)in Indonesia.Methods:This cross-sectional study analyzes national representation data.Meanwhile,the study involved 9846 representative respondents in 2019.Respondent’s satisfaction with FHFS based on the five dimensions of service quality(SERVQUAL)is a dependent variable.Independent variables consist of sex,marital status,age,education,employment,insurance ownership,and economics.The study used multivariate logistic regression to explain the relationship between individual characteristics and FSHS quality.Results:77.3%Respondents were satisfied with FHFS,with the highest order of satisfaction dimensions being assurance(59.4%),empathy(57.3%),reliability(53.6%),responsiveness(52.7%),and then tangibility(49.1%).Multivariate logistic analysis showed that divorce was 1.48 more likely than never-married to be satisfied(95%CI 1.17-1.87).Employees were 0.77 less likely than the unemployed to get satisfied(95%CI 0.70-0.86).Respondents with higher education was 0.82 less likely than those with primary education to be satisfied(95%CI 0.67-0.99).Meanwhile,respondents who had government-run insurance were 1.61 more likely than uninsured to be satisfied(95%CI 1.42-1.80).Moreover,the rich were 0.82 less likely than the poor to get satisfied(95%CI 0.73-0.92).Conclusions:Community satisfaction with FHFS is generally high,though some areas could be improved.Demographic factors are still strongly related to satisfaction ratings.The government can assess the quality of services in accordance with standards and disseminate information about service standards for primary facilities to all levels of society,ensuring that service satisfaction is rated as good by all groups. 展开更多

Patients’ satisfaction with waiting time and the facilities in eye clinics is an important indication of the patients’ assessment of the quality of service in the eye clinic. In this study, waiting time was defined as time spent from arrival to time when the patient is seen by a doctor. Some factors that affect patients’ waiting time in health clinics include: healthcare setting, availability of adequate resources and personnel, efficient deployment of available resources and competence of healthcare workers, and punctuality of healthcare workers. The physical environment, comfort of patients, and level of infrastructure in the hospital also influence patients’ satisfaction. This observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted among patients that attended an eye care clinic, in a tertiary hospital, and 348 respondents were interviewed. Most of the respondents were aged 40 years and above (64.4%), females (63.5%), Igbos by tribe (94.8%), married (63.2%), Christians (96.6%), and had at least a secondary level of education (78.4%). Most perceived waiting time as being very long or long (60.1%), and only 48.8 were satisfied or very satisfied with the waiting time. Most also perceived the cleanliness of the eye clinic as being clean or very clean (85.0%), and 70.7% perceived the ventilation as being adequate or very adequate. The majority reported that a health talk was given (71.6%), and 62.7% were satisfied or very satisfied with the talk. More respondents (46.8%) perceived the waiting space as very inadequate or inadequate, as against 43.4% that perceived it as adequate or very adequate. More reported that prescribed drugs were completely unavailable or few available (48.0%), while 42.3% reported drugs as being reasonably or completely available. It is important that management of health facilities that offer eye care services, work towards improving patients’ perception and satisfaction with services provided in the eye clinics. 展开更多

In the process of wind power,coal power,and energy storage equipment participating in the operation of industrial microgrids,the stable operation of wind-storage industrial microgrids is guaranteed by considering demand response technology and user satisfaction.This paper firstly sorts out the status quo of microgrid operation optimization,and determines themain requirements for user satisfaction considering three types of load characteristics,demand response technology,power consumption benefit loss,user balance power purchase price and wind power consumption evaluation indicators in the system.Secondly,the operation architecture of the windstorage industrialmicrogrid is designed,and themulti-objective optimizationmodel of the wind-storage industrial microgrid is established with the comprehensive operating cost and user satisfaction as the target variables,and the corresponding solution method is mentioned.Finally,a typical wind-storage industrial microgrid is selected for simulation analysis,and the results showthat,(1)Considering the demand response technology,the comprehensive operating cost of the wind-storage industrial microgrid per day is 5292.63 yuan,the user satisfaction index is 0.953,and the wind power consumption rate reaches 100%.(2)By setting four scenarios,it highlights that the grid-connected operation mode is superior to the off-grid operation mode.Considering the demand response technology,the load curve can be optimized,and the time-of-use electricity price can be fully used to coordinate the operation of each unit,which enhances the wind power consumption capacity.The compromise solution of the system comprehensive operating cost and user satisfaction under the confidence level of 0.95 is obtained,namely(5343.22,0.94).(3)The frontier curve shows that in the process of model solving,it is impossible to optimize any sub-objective by changing the control variables,which proves that there is a close relationship between the comprehensive operating cost of the system and the confidence level,which can provide effective guidance for the optimal operation of industrial microgrids. 展开更多

Introduction: Nurses’ constant exposure to severe human suffering within constrained health care environments places them at risk for developing Secondary Traumatic Stress and Burnout. The current study therefore sought to establish the prevalence and social demographic factors associated with Secondary Traumatic Stress, Burnout and Compassion Satisfaction among Nurses working at selected Teaching Hospitals in Lusaka, Zambia. Methods: A correlational design employing a self-administered questionnaire adapted from version five of the Professional Quality of Life scale was used to collect data from 250 nurses drawn using proportional stratified sampling method. The resulting data were analyzed using version 23 of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Hierarchical multiple linear regression analysis was used to identify predictors of Secondary Traumatic Stress and Burnout. Findings: Whilst the majority of respondents reported average levels of Secondary Traumatic Stress and Burnout, about a quarter reported high Secondary Traumatic Stress and Burnout scores at 23% and 26% respectively. Only 81 (32.4%) scored high on Compassion Satisfaction. Social demographic factors including;working in the main Intensive Care Unit, and being married accounted for the greatest variance in Secondary Traumatic Stress (R<sup>2</sup> = 0.237, p Conclusion: Findings of the current study signify a need to institute measures to help nurses cope with the deleterious psychological effects of constant engagement with those in distress and to foster Compassion Satisfaction. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Single-parent families are burdened with dual roles as parents amidst economic poverty due to the lack of a spouse.Single parents also face the complications of time poverty.AIM To examine the time use of single-parent families by dividing their time into occupational area and explore the differences in time deficiency and life satisfaction.METHODS In this study,the time usage in the‘2019 time of life survey’data of the National Statistical Office is classified based on the fourth edition of the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework,and the time use and satisfaction of single-parent families classified according to sex.In the‘2019 time of life survey’of the National Statistical Office,the subjects who selected single-parent families in the‘single parent-parent-grandchild households’item were first selected.The data of 404 parents from single-parent families were selected next.The time usage,time deficiency,and life satisfaction were analyzed by occupational area.RESULTS The subjects spent the most time resting and sleeping,followed by engaging in instrumental activities of daily living(IADLs),work,and health management.As a result of comparing the subjects by sex,it was found that the male subjects spent more time on work than the female subjects,and the female subjects spent more time on IADLs,education and social participation.As a result of comparing time deficiency and life satisfaction,the male subjects felt that they lacked time compared to the female subjects.There was no significant difference in life satisfaction.By examining whether single-parent families'time use by occupa tional area affected the time deficiency,it was found that male's working time make them feel they have less time,while female's leisure time makes them feel they have more time.CONCLUSION This study made it possible to determine the characteristics of single-parent households’time use and sex differences.Furthermore,it is expected to be used as basic data for measures to solve not only time poverty,but also economic poverty in single-parent families. 展开更多

BACKGROUND The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)epidemic disrupted education systems by forcing systems to shift to emergency online leaning.Online learning satisfaction affects academic achievement.Many factors affect online learning satisfaction.However there is little study focused on personal characteristics,mental status,and coping style when college students participated in emergency online courses.regression analyses were performed to identify factors that affected online learning satisfaction.RESULTS Descriptive findings indicated that 62.9%(994/1580)of students were satisfied with online learning.Factors that had significant positive effects on online learning satisfaction were online learning at scheduled times,strong exercise intensity,good health,regular schedule,focusing on the epidemic less than one hour a day,and maintaining emotional stability.Positive coping styles were protective factors of online learning satisfaction.Risk factors for poor satisfaction were depression,neurasthenia,and negative coping style.CONCLUSION College students with different personal characteristics,mental status,and coping style exhibited different degrees of online learning satisfaction.Our findings provide reference for educators,psychologists,and school adminis-trators to conduct health education intervention of college students during emergency online learning. 展开更多

BACKGROUND A clean operating room is an important part of surgical and critical treatment in hospitals.The workload is substantial,the pace is rapid,and the working environment is intense;therefore,nurses who work in clean operating rooms are constantly challenged,which can lead to anxiety,depression,and other mental health issues.Life satisfaction and resilience are important factors that ensure mental health.Therefore,exploring the mediating role of life satisfaction in the influence of resilience on depression among nurses in clean operating rooms can help improve nursing services and teamwork.AIM To explore the mediating effect of satisfaction on the influence of resilience on depression among nurses in a clean operating department.METHODS From April to November 2022,196 nurses from the Department of Clean Operating at Harbin Medical University Cancer Hospital participated in this study.Participants were selected using convenience sampling.Participants’gender,age,marital status,position,length of service,personal monthly income,daily working hours,employment status,and professional title were collected,and the Connor-Davidson resilience scale,satisfaction with life scale,and selfrating depression scale were used to evaluate resilience,life satisfaction,and depression.The researchers conducted professional training in advance,introduced the research methods to the participants before the investigation,and explained the study’s significance and purpose.Surveys were distributed and collected on-site.Each questionnaire took 30 min to complete.RESULTS The average scores for life satisfaction,resilience,and depression were 3.13(±0.28),4.09(±0.78),and 56.21(±8.70),respectively.The correlation between resilience and depression was negative(r=-0.829,P<0.01).Life satisfaction was positively related to resilience(r=0.855,P<0.01)and negatively related to depression(r=-0.778,P<0.01).The relationship between resilience and depression was partially mediated by life satisfaction.The value of the mediating effect was-6.853(26.68%of the total effect).CONCLUSION Life satisfaction partially mediates the link between resilience and depression among nurses in clean operating departments. 展开更多

Patient satisfaction is a crucial measure of healthcare quality and plays a vital role in ensuring effective healthcare systems. This study aims to assess the level of patient satisfaction with primary healthcare services in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, identify social factors affecting satisfaction, and determine the reasons behind dissatisfaction and how to improve satisfaction. The study employed a cross-sectional observational design and included a random sample of 400 patients from primary healthcare centers in Riyadh. Data were collected using an electronic questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS software. The study found that patients were generally satisfied with the primary healthcare services provided in Riyadh, with high levels of satisfaction reported for booking appointments, triage services, and emergency care. However, some aspects of the healthcare experience, such as long waiting times and the physical design of healthcare centers, need improvement. These findings can be used to inform the development of policies and interventions aimed at enhancing healthcare quality in Saudi Arabia. 展开更多

Method: We selected pharmacists from several medical institutions in Yunnan Province as the subjects by using the general information questionnaire survey, the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS), and the Work Environment Scale-10 (WES-10). The traditional family institution and community support that used to be safety nest are being adversely affected by westernization. This development might have adverse effect on life satisfaction among the older adults. This hospital based cross-sectional study was designed to determine the association between support and life satisfaction among older adults. A total of 128 subjects participated in the study out of which 28.9% were satisfied with life. Expectation of support was mainly from the family, less from the community and very low from the government. The level of support received from all sources generally fell short of expectations. Marital status and source of livelihood were significantly associated with life satisfaction. There is inadequate social support from the government and support from family and community fell below expectations. Expectations of support were the most strongly correlated with life satisfaction. Support for older adults must be addressed in order to meet their expectations and improve their level of satisfaction with life. 展开更多

Nurse leaders should use a variety of empowerment strategies that are important to nurses’ job satisfaction. Meanwhile, meaningful recognition for nurses is considered a powerful tool to enhance nurses’ sense of self-efficacy especially facing an emotional challenge that may affect their wellbeing. Aim: The aim of the studies is to analyze the importance of nurses’ recognition, and empowerment towards nurses’ job satisfaction at KFSH-D. Method: This study takes the form of a quantitative research methodology, and descriptive-analytical technique. A questionnaire used to gather data from registered nurses employed at King Fahad Specialist Hospital-Dammam (KFSH-D) about the structural empowerment and nurses’ recognition program impact on their job satisfaction. Following the collection of data, the descriptive statistic used to describe the personal characteristics of the respondents, while inferential statistics used to determine the statistical relationship existing between independent variable job satisfaction and the structural empowerment and nurses’ recognition program among the registered nurses at KFSH-D as dependent variables. Recommendation: The researcher only focuses on the in-patient units, future studies, are recommended to focus on every dimension and category level of units. Apart from that, when looking into job satisfaction and empowerment, to be more specific, the researcher could investigate another dimension by comparing age, and clinical working experience which may provide a depth of understanding of the contribution perception of structural empowerment.
