Indeed, several authors have shown that the combustion of biofuels which make it possible to compensate for fossil and exhaustible resources, presents a cylinder pressure higher by about 3.5% compared to that of conventional diesel D100. This increase in pressure can be reduced by the means of controlling parameters making it possible to preserve the life of the engine and also reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particular matter (PM). This article has two objectives which are: putting in place a numerical tool for the evaluation and simulation of thermal engines and the influence of control parameters on cylinder pressure. The single zone 0D combustion model which considers only the physical phenomena and considers the mixed fuel as a perfect gas is used. The fuel used is the Neem biofuel produced by Doctor Merlin Ayissi of the University of Douala and the D100 diesel fuel. The results are obtained from three fuel injection angles of 20°, 13° and 10° before the TDC (Top Dead Centre) and three values of the engine compression rates of 15, 20 and 25. The delay in combustion is characteristic of the fuel used as illustrated by the cetane number. The results show that the cylinder pressure increases with increasing compression rate and a very high advanced injection. It also shows that the pressure is high when diesel D100 is used instead of D100 biodiesel.展开更多

In...The tension and compression of face-centered-cubic high-entropy alloy(HEA) nanowires are significantly asymmetric, but the tension–compression asymmetry in nanoscale body-centered-cubic(BCC) HEAs is still unclear. In this study, the tension–compression asymmetry of the BCC Al Cr Fe Co Ni HEA nanowire is investigated using molecular dynamics simulations. The results show a significant asymmetry in both the yield and flow stresses, with BCC HEA nanowire stronger under compression than under tension. The strength asymmetry originates from the completely different deformation mechanisms in tension and compression. In compression, atomic amorphization dominates plastic deformation and contributes to the strengthening, while in tension, deformation twinning prevails and weakens the HEA nanowire. The tension–compression asymmetry exhibits a clear trend of increasing with the increasing nanowire cross-sectional edge length and decreasing temperature. In particular, the compressive strengths along the [001] and [111] crystallographic orientations are stronger than the tensile counterparts, while the [110] crystallographic orientation shows the exactly opposite trend. The dependences of tension–compression asymmetry on the cross-sectional edge length, crystallographic orientation, and temperature are explained in terms of the deformation behavior of HEA nanowire as well as its variations caused by the change in these influential factors. These findings may deepen our understanding of the tension–compression asymmetry of the BCC HEA nanowires.展开更多

We confirm CST is very useful in convergecasts.

文摘Chronic spinal cord compression(CSCC)is induced by disc herniation and other reasons, leading to movement and sensation dysfunction, with a serious impact on quality of life.Spontaneous disc herniation rarely occurs in rodents, and therefore establishing a chronic spinal cord compression(CSCC)animal model is of crucial importance to explore the pathogenesis and treatment of CSCC.The absence of secreted protein, acidic, and rich in cysteine(SPARC)leads to spontaneous intervertebral disc degeneration in mice, which resembles human disc degeneration. In this study,we evaluated whether SPARC-null mice may serve as an animal model for CSCC.We performed rod rotation test, pain threshold test, gait analysis, and Basso Mouse Scale score. Our results showed that the motor function of SPARC-null mice was weakened, and magnetic resonance images revealed compression at different spinal cord levels, particularly in the lumbar segments.Immunofluorescence staining and western blot assay showed that the absence of SPARC induced apoptosis of neurons and oligodendrocytes, activation of microglia/macrophages with M1/M2 phenotype and astrocytes with A1/A2 phenotype;it also activated the expression of the NOD-like receptor protein 3 inflammasome and inhibited brain-derived neurotrophic factor/tyrosine kinase B signaling pathway.Notably, these findings are characteristics of CSCC.Therefore,we propose that SPARC-null mice may be an animal model for studying CSCC caused by disc herniation.

文摘In this work, several key scaling laws of the quasi-static magnetic compression of field reversed configuration(FRC)plasma(Spencer et al 1983 Phys.Fluids 261564)are amended from a series of two-dimensional FRC MHD equilibriums numerically obtained using the Grad–Shafranov equation solver NIMEQ.Based on the new scaling for the elongation and the magnetic fields at the separatrix and the wall, the empirically stable limits for the compression ratio, the fusion gain, and the neutron yield are evaluated, which may serve as a more accurate estimate for the upper ceiling of performance from the magnetic compression of FRC plasma as a potential fusion energy as well as neutron source devices.

文摘Background Adequate data collection can enhance the realism of online rendering or offline playback of haptic surface textures.A parallel challenge is to reduce communication delays and improve storage space utilization. Methods Based on the similarity of the short-term amplitude spectrum trend, this study proposes a frequency-domain compression method.A compression framework is designed, which first maps the amplitude spectrum into grayscale images, compresses them with a still image compression method, and then adaptively encodes the maximum amplitude and part of the initial phase for each time window to achieve the final compression. Results The comparison between the original signal and the recovered signal shows that when the time-frequency similarity is 90%,the average compression ratio of our method is 9.85%in the case of a single interaction point. The subjective score for similarity was found to be high, with an average of 87.85.Conclusions Our method can be used for offline compression of vibrotactile data. For multi-interaction points in space, the trend similarity grayscale image can be reused, and the compression ratio is further reduced.

文摘With the advent of the information security era,it is necessary to guarantee the privacy, accuracy, and dependable transfer of pictures. This study presents a new approach to the encryption and compression of color images. It is predicated on 2D compressed sensing(CS)and the hyperchaotic system.First,an optimized Arnold scrambling algorithm is applied to the initial color images to ensure strong security. Then, the processed images are con-currently encrypted and compressed using 2D CS.Among them, chaotic sequences replace traditional random measurement matrices to increase the system’s security.Third, the processed images are re-encrypted using a combination of permutation and diffusion algorithms. In addition, the 2D projected gradient with an embedding decryption(2DPG-ED)algorithm is used to reconstruct images.Compared with the traditional reconstruction algorithm, the 2DPG-ED algorithm can improve security and reduce computational complexity.Furthermore,it has better robustness. The experimental outcome and the performance analysis indicate that this algorithm can withstand malicious attacks and prove the method is effective.

文摘Objective Hypertriglyceridemic waist(HW),hypertriglyceridemic waist-to-height ratio(HWHtR),and waist-to-hip ratio(WHR)have been shown to be indicators of cardiometabolic risk factors. However,it is not clear which indicator is more suitable for children and adolescents. We aimed to investigate the relationship between HW,HWHtR,WHR,and cardiovascular risk factors clustering to determine the best screening tools for cardiometabolic risk in children and adolescents. Methods This was a national cross-sectional study.Anthropometric and biochemical variables were assessed in approximately 70,000 participants aged 6–18 years from seven provinces in China.Demographics, physical activity, dietary intake, and family history of chronic diseases were obtained through questionnaires.ANOVA,χ2 and logistic regression analysis was conducted. Results A significant sex difference was observed for HWHtR and WHR,but not for HW phenotype. The risk of cardiometabolic health risk factor clustering with HW phenotype or the HWHtR phenotype was significantly higher than that with the non-HW or non-HWHtR phenotypes among children and adolescents(HW:OR=12.22,95%CI:9.54-15.67;HWHtR:OR=9.70,95%CI:6.93-13.58).Compared with the HW and HWHtR phenotypes, the association between risk of cardiometabolic health risk factors(CHRF)clustering and high WHR was much weaker and not significant(WHR:OR=1.14,95%CI:0.97-1.34).Conclusion Compared with HWHtR and WHR,the HW phenotype is a more convenient indicator with higher applicability to screen children and adolescents for cardiovascular risk factors.

文摘AIM:To investigate systemic immune-inflammation index(SII),neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR),and plateletto-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)levels in patients with type 2 diabetes at different stages of diabetic retinopathy(DR).METHODS:This retrospective study included 141 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM):45 without diabetic retinopathy(NDR),47 with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR),and 49 with proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR).Complete blood counts were obtained, and NLR,PLR,and SII were calculated. The study analysed the ability of inflammatory markers to predict DR using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves. The relationships between DR stages and SII,PLR,and NLP were assessed using multivariate logistic regression.RESULTS:The average NLR,PLR,and SII were higher in the PDR group than in the NPDR group(P=0.011,0.043,0.009,respectively);higher in the NPDR group than in the NDR group(P<0.001 for all);and higher in the PDR group than in the NDR group(P<0.001 for all).In the ROC curve analysis, the NLR,PLR,and SII were significant predictors of DR(P<0.001 for all). The highest area under the curve(AUC)was for the PLR(0.929 for PLR,0.925 for SII,and 0.821 for NLR).Multivariate regression analysis indicated that NLR,PLR,and SII were statistically significantly positive and independent predictors for the DR stages in patients with DM[odds ratio(OR)=1.122,95%confidence interval(CI):0.200–2.043,P<0.05;OR=0.038,95%CI:0.018–0.058,P<0.05;OR=0.007,95%CI:0.001–0.01,P<0.05,respectively).CONCLUSION:The NLR,PLR,and SII may be used as predictors of DR.
文摘We conducted a comprehensive review of existing prediction models pertaining to the efficacy of immune-checkpoint inhibitor(ICI)and the occurrence of immune-related adverse events(irAEs).The predictive potential of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR)in determining ICI effectiveness has been extensively investigated, while limited research has been conducted on predicting irAEs.Furthermore, the combined model incor-porating NLR and PLR,either with each other or in conjunction with additional markers such as carcinoembryonic antigen, exhibits superior predictive capabilities compared to individual markers alone.NLR and PLR are promising markers for clinical applications.Forthcoming models ought to incorporate established efficacious models and newly identified ones, thereby constituting a multifactor composite model.Furthermore, efforts should be made to explore effective clinical application approaches that enhance the predictive accuracy and efficiency.

文摘In the context of high compression rates applied to Joint Photographic Experts Group(JPEG)images through lossy compression techniques,image-blocking artifacts may manifest. This necessitates the restoration of the image to its original quality. The challenge lies in regenerating significantly compressed images into a state in which these become identifiable. Therefore, this study focuses on the restoration of JPEG images subjected to substantial degradation caused by maximum lossy compression using Generative Adversarial Networks(GAN).The generator in this network is based on theU-Net architecture. It features a newhourglass structure that preserves the characteristics of the deep layers. In addition, the network incorporates two loss functions to generate natural and high-quality images:Low Frequency(LF)loss and High Frequency(HF)loss.HF loss uses a pretrained VGG-16 network and is configured using a specific layer that best represents features. This can enhance the performance in the high-frequency region. In contrast,LF loss is used to handle the low-frequency region. The two loss functions facilitate the generation of images by the generator, which can mislead the discriminator while accurately generating high-and low-frequency regions.Consequently,by removing the blocking effects frommaximum lossy compressed images, images inwhich identities could be recognized are generated. This study represents a significant improvement over previous research in terms of the image resolution performance.

文摘The tension and compression of face-centered-cubic high-entropy alloy(HEA) nanowires are significantly asymmetric, but the tension–compression asymmetry in nanoscale body-centered-cubic(BCC) HEAs is still unclear. These findings may deepen our understanding of the tension–compression asymmetry of the BCC HEA nanowires.

文摘Recent developments in Computer Vision have presented novel opportunities to tackle complex healthcare issues, particularly in the field of lung disease diagnosis. One promising avenue involves the use of chest X-Rays,which are commonly utilized in radiology. To fully exploit their potential, researchers have suggested utilizing deep learning methods to construct computer-aided diagnostic systems. However, constructing and compressing these systems presents a significant challenge,as it relies heavily on the expertise of data scientists. To tackle this issue,we propose an automated approach that utilizes an evolutionary algorithm(EA)to optimize the design and compression of a convolutional neural network(CNN)for X-Ray image classification. Our approach accurately classifies radiography images and detects potential chest abnormalities and infections, including COVID-19.Furthermore,our approach incorporates transfer learning, where a pre-trainedCNNmodel on a vast dataset of chest X-Ray images is fine-tuned for the specific task of detecting COVID-19.This method can help reduce the amount of labeled data required for the task and enhance the overall performance of the model. We have validated our method via a series of experiments against state-of-the-art architectures.

文摘In this experimental work,an optically accessible rapid compression machine is used to study the ignition and combustion process under engine relevant operation conditions for five different air-natural gas equivalence ratios(λ)ignited with either 12.2 mg or 6.7 mg of pilot diesel injected at 1,600 bar.Initial temperature of the ambient mixture, walls and injector was 333 K.Additionally, for the short(6.7 mg)diesel injection, the variation in the ID(ignition delay)for two higher ambient temperatures(343 K and 353 K)was measured.Pressure and piston displacement are recorded while two high-speed cameras simultaneously capture signals in the visible range spectrum and at 305 nm wavelength for OH^(*)chemiluminescence respectively.ID is measured both from OH^(*)and pressure rise. From the recorded data, the heat release ratio is estimated and compared with the visual signals. This gives an insight of the temporal and spatial evolution of the flame,as well as a qualitative perception of the transition from spray ignition into a premixed flame in the ambient fuel-air mixture. It was found that increasing the methane concertation delays the ignition, reduces the natural flame luminosity and enhances the OH^(*)chemiluminescence signal.
