Creep tests under different stress conditions was conducted on intact granite and granite samples fractured at 30° and 45° angles. The experimental results indicate that the steady creep strain rates of intact and fractured rock present an exponential increase trend with the increase of stress level. A nonlinear creep model is developed based on the experimental results, in which the initial damage caused by fracture together with the damage caused by constant load have been taken into consideration. The fitting analysis results indicated that the model proposed is more accurate at identifying the full creep regions in fractured granite, especially the accelerated stage of creep deformation. The least-square fit error of the proposed creep model is significantly lower than that of Nishihara model by almost an order of magnitude. An analysis of the effects of elastic modulus, viscosity coefficient, and damage factors on fractured rock strain rate and creep strain is conducted. If no consideration is given to the effects of the damage, the proposed nonlinear creep model can degenerate into to the classical Nishihara model.展开更多

In this manuscript, a triaxial creep test on deep coal at various pore pressures using a test system that combines in-situ mechanical loading with real-time nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) detection was conducted.Full-scale quantitative characterization, online real-time detection, and visualization of MPFS during coal creep influenced by pore pressure and stress coupling were performed using NMR and NMR imaging(NMRI) techniques. The results revealed that seepage pores and microfractures(SPM) undergo the most significant changes during coal creep, with creep failure gradually expanding from dense primary pore fractures. Pore pressure presence promotes MPFS development primarily by inhibiting SPM compression and encouraging adsorption pores(AP) to evolve into SPM. Coal enters the accelerated creep stage earlier at lower stress levels, resulting in more pronounced creep deformation. The connection between the micro and macro values was established, demonstrating that increased porosity at different pore pressures leads to a negative exponential decay of the viscosity coefficient. The Newton dashpot in the ideal viscoplastic body and the Burgers model was improved using NMR experimental results, and a creep model that considers pore pressure and stress coupling using variable-order fractional operators was developed. The model’s reasonableness was confirmed using creep experimental data. The damagestate adjustment factors ω and β were identified through a parameter sensitivity analysis to characterize the effect of pore pressure and stress coupling on the creep damage characteristics(size and degree of difficulty) of coal.展开更多

In addition, the morphology of the precipitated Mg_(3)Bi_(2) phase and the orientation relationship between Mg_(2)Sn precipitates and α-Mg can be effectively modified. Tailoring the microstructural characteristics is responsible for the improved creep performance of BTM550 alloy. Furthermore, twinning and pyramidal slip play an assisting part in both alloys during creep process.展开更多

Their compressive creep tests at 250 ℃ were performed under various applied stresses(i.e., 60, 80 and100 MPa). Among them, the sand-cast Mg-14Gd-0.4Zr samples examined under 250 ℃/80 MPa for 39 and 95 h, respectively, were chosen to systemically analyze their creep mechanisms using high-angle annular dark field-scanning transmission electron microscopy(HAADF-STEM).The obtained results showed that the enhancement of creep resistance can be mainly attributed to the coherent β' and β'_F phases with an alternate distribution, effectively impeding the basal dislocations movement. However, with the creep time increasing, the fine β'+β'_F precipitate chains coarsened and transformed to semi-coherent β_1 phase and even to large incoherent β phase(surrounded by precipitate-free areas) in grain interiors. The precipitate-free zones(PFZs) at grain boundaries(GBs) were formed, and they could expand during creep deformation. Apart from the main cross-slip of basal and prismatic dislocations, type dislocations were activated and tended to distribute near the GBs. The aforementioned phenomena induced the stress concentrations, consequently leading to the increment of the creep strain.展开更多

In this paper, the self-developed direct tension device and creep testing machine RLW-2000M are used to conduct the creep tests on red sandstone under uniaxial compressive and tensile stresses. The short-term and long-term creep behaviors of rocks under compressive and tensile stresses are investigated, as well as the long-term strength of rocks. It is shown that, under low-stress levels, the creep curve of sandstone consists of decay and steady creep stages; while under high-stress levels, it presents the accelerated creep stage and creep fracture presents characteristics of brittle materials. The relationship between tensile stress and time under uniaxial tension is also put forward. Finally, a nonlinear viscoelastoplastic creep model is used to describe the creep behaviors of rocks under uniaxial compressive and tensile stresses.展开更多

文摘Using goof as water storage space plays a vital role in the ecological environment and economic development of arid mining areas, while the rock strength and the stability of coal pillars in underground water reservoirs are closely related to creep process. In this work, triaxial creep-seepage tests were conducted for coal samples to develop new insights into the creep behavior and permeability evolution. The results showed that the creep deformation and permeability evolution of coal samples exhibit three stages, namely, the compaction hardening stage before the stress threshold, volumetric compaction stage, and volumetric dilatancy stage. The coal permeability decreases first and then increases with the creep strain and it is well correlated with the variation of volumetric strain.

文摘The creep properties, microstructural characteristics and creep mechanisms of as-cast Mg-5Bi-5Sn(BT55) alloy without and with Mn(BTM550) addition were investigated via creep at 423, 448, and 473 K as well as stresses of 30, 50 and 75 MPa. The results indicate that adding Mn can result in the formation of primary and the dynamic precipitated α-Mn phases. The dominant creep mechanisms in BT55 and BTM550 alloys are dislocation cross-slip and climb, respectively. Furthermore, twinning and pyramidal slip play an assisting part in both alloys during creep process.

文摘The present work reports the creep behavior and microstructural evolution of the sand-cast Mg-14Gd-0.4Zr alloy(wt.%) prepared by the differential pressure casting machine. The aforementioned phenomena induced the stress concentrations, consequently leading to the increment of the creep strain.

文摘Tunnels deeply buried have high crustal stress and are prone to large deformation disasters when encountering soft rock. The large deformation phenomenon during the construction process of the Maoxian Tunnel on the Chengdu-Lanzhou Railway is particularly evident. This article focuses on the large deformation problem of the No.1 inclined shaft of the Maoxian Tunnel, and uses on-site monitoring methods to explore the reasons for tunnel structure failure, and analyzes the mechanical behavior of the tunnel structure.By using numerical simulation methods, the effectiveness of the second-layer support in resisting creep loads in tunnels was studied, and the influence of the construction time of the secondlayer support on the mechanical properties of the tunnel was discussed. The results indicate that the first-layer support in the tunnel is a structural failure caused by asymmetric deformation caused by creep, while the second-layer support has a good effect on resisting creep loads. The research results can provide a technical reference for deformation control of squeezing tunnels.

文摘The addition of nanoscale additions to magnesium(Mg)based alloys can boost mechanical characteristics without noticeably decreasing ductility.Since Mg is the lightest structural material, the Mg-based nanocomposites(NCs)with improved mechanical properties are appealing materials for lightweight structural applications. In contrast to conventional Mg-based composites, the incorporation of nano-sized reinforcing particles noticeably boosts the strength of Mg-based nanocomposites without significantly reducing the formability. The present article reviews Mg-based metal matrix nanocomposites(MMNCs)with metallic and ceramic additions, fabricated via both solid-based(sintering and powder metallurgy)and liquid-based(disintegrated melt deposition)technologies. It also reviews strengthening models and mechanisms that have been proposed to explain the improved mechanical characteristics of Mg-based alloys and nanocomposites.Further, synergistic strengthening mecha-nisms in Mg matrix nanocomposites and the dominant equations for quantitatively predicting mechanical properties are provided.Furthermore, this study offers an overview of the creep and fatigue behavior of Mg-based alloys and nanocomposites using both traditional(uniaxial)and depth-sensing indentation techniques. The potential applications of magnesium-based alloys and nanocomposites are also surveyed.

文摘The initiating condition for the accelerated creep of rocks has caused difficulty in analyzing the whole creep process. Moreover, the existing Nishihara model has evident shortcomings in describing the accelerated creep characteristics of the viscoplastic stage from the perspective of internal energy to analyze the mechanism of rock creep failure and determine the threshold of accelerated creep initiation.Based on the kinetic energy theorem,Perzyna viscoplastic theory, and the Nishihara model,a unified creep constitutive model that can describe the whole process of decaying creep, stable creep, and accelerated creep is established. Results reveal that the energy consumption and creep damage in the process of creep loading mainly come from the internal energy changes of geotechnical materials. The established creep model can not only describe the viscoelasticeplastic creep characteristics of rock, but also reflect the relationship between rock energy and creep deformation change. In addition, the research results provide a new method for determining the critical point of creep deformation and a new idea for studying the creep model and creep mechanical properties.

文摘Three-dimensional(3D)printing technology is increasingly used in experimental research of geotechnical engineering.Compared to other materials,3D layer-by-layer printing specimens are extremely similar to the inherent properties of natural layered rock masses. In this paper,soft-hard interbedded rock masses with different dip angles were prepared based on 3D printing(3DP)sand core technology.Uniaxial compression creep tests were conducted to investigate its anisotropic creep behavior based on digital imaging correlation(DIC)technology. The results show that the anisotropic creep behavior of the 3DP soft-hard interbedded rock mass is mainly affected by the dip angles of the weak interlayer when the stress is at low levels. As the stress level increases, the effect of creep stress on its creep anisotropy increases significantly, and the dip angle is no longer the main factor. The minimum value of the long-term strength and creep failure strength always appears in the weak interlayer within 30°–60°,which explains why the failure of the layered rock mass is controlled by the weak interlayer and generally emerges at 45°.The tests results are verified by comparing with theoretical and other published studies. The feasibility of the 3DP soft-hard interbedded rock mass provides broad prospects and application values for 3DP technology in future experimental research.

文摘In this study, the recycled short carbon fiber(CF)-reinforced magnesium matrix composites were fabricated using a combination of stir casting and hot extrusion. The objective was to investigate the impact of CF content(2.5 and 5.0 wt.%)and fiber length(100 and 500μm)on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and creep behavior of AZ91 alloy matrix. The microstructural analysis revealed that the CFs aligned in the extrusion direction resulted in grain and intermetallic refinement within the alloy. In comparison to the unreinforced AZ91 alloy, the composites with 2.5 wt.%CF exhibited an increase in hardness by 16-20%and yield strength by 5-15%,depending on the fiber length, while experiencing a reduction in ductility. When the reinforcement content was increased from 2.5 to 5.0 wt.%,strength values exhibited fluctuations and decline, accompanied by decreased ductility. These divergent outcomes were discussed in relation to fiber length, clustering tendency due to higher reinforcement content, and the presence of interfacial products with micro-cracks at the CF-matrix interface.Tensile creep tests indicated that CFs did not enhance the creep resistance of extruded AZ91 alloy, suggesting that grain boundary sliding is likely the dominant deformation mechanism during creep.

文摘The creep characteristics of rock under high crustal stress are of important influence on the long‐term stability of deep rock engineering. To study the creep characteristics and engineering application of sandstone under high crustal stress, this study constructed nonlinear creep damage(NCD)constitutive mode based on the triaxial graded loading‒unloading creep test of sandstone in the Yuezhishan Tunnel.A numerical NCD constitutive model and a breakable lining(BL)model were developed based on FLAC3D and then applied to the stability analysis of the Yuezhishan Tunnel.Based on the creep test results of sandstone,a power function of creep rate and stress level was constructed,by which the long‐term strength was solved. The results show that the long‐term strength of the red sandstone based on the related function of the steady‐state creep rate and stress level is close to the measured stress value in engineering. The NCD model considering damage factors reflects the instantaneous and viscoelastic plasticity deformation characteristics of the red sandstone. The numerical NCD constitutive model and the BL model can reflect surrounding rock deformation characteristics and lining failure characteristics in practical engineering. The research results provide theoretical references for long‐term stability analysis of rock engineering and the deformation control of surrounding rock under high crustal stress.
文摘Studies were made of the creep properties and structure change of steet 20Cr11MoVNbNB at550-650℃.It is found that at 550℃ when creep stress】180 MPa there exists linear rela-tion with two different slopes β1 and β-2 between transitional creep strain εβ and creeptime t1/3,and β1(in initiol period)】β2(in later period). The Creep rate of stable stage at550℃ can be expressed by =Aσ exp(-Q /RT),where,n=4.7.A exp(-Q /RT)=5.37×10-16.Apparent creep activation energy Q =430 kJ/mol at 550-650℃,which ismuch higher than the self-diffusion activation energy of atoms for matrix Fe.In creepprocess,as the creep stress and time increase, the total weight of precipitated phases and rela-tive weight of Cr,Mo and V increase, but those of Fe and Nb decrease in precipitated phases,

文摘The consideration of time dependence is essential for the study of deformation and fracturing processes of rock materials, especially for those subjected to strong compressive and tensile stresses. Finally, a nonlinear viscoelastoplastic creep model is used to describe the creep behaviors of rocks under uniaxial compressive and tensile stresses.

文摘The lithology of the strata in the Gobi region of the Xinjiang autonomous region of China is mainly composed of mudstone, silty mudstone, and other soft rocks.Because of the low strength of the rock mass and the serious effects of physical weathering in this area, the slope stability in open-pit mines is poor, and creep deformation and instability can readily occur.Taking the Dananhu No.2 open-pit mine as a typical example, the creep test of a mudstone sample under different stress levels was studied. Then, based on a bottom friction experiment and a FLAC3D numerical simulation, the deformation and failure processes of the slope were analyzed. The stress–displacement curve and the displacement–time curve for the monitoring points were plotted to obtain the relationship between the stress and displacement for the slope of the soft rock. The results showed that the long-term strength of the mudstone was between 8.0 and 8.8 MPa,and that stable creep occurred when the slope was under low stress. The potential failure mode for this type of slope is that the front edge creeps along the weak layer and then a crack is formed at the trailing edge of the slope. When the crack penetrates the weak layer, cutting bedding and bedding sliding occur. The deformation process of the stable creep slope includes an initial deformation stage,an initial creep stage,a constant velocity creep stage and a deceleration creep stage.
