The deep crustal structure is closely related to oil and gas reserves.Predicting the oil and gas enrichment of depressions based on the Moho depth and crustal thickness is a promising research topic with significant implications for guiding exploration in petroliferous basins. In this study, seismic data were used as a constraint on the use of satellite gravity anomaly inversion to obtain the distribution of Moho depth and crustal thickness in the Bohai Basin.Stretching factors were calculated to analyze the differential distribution of deep crustal structural activity.Four indicators, including the minimum Moho depth, minimum crustal thickness, sum of Moho stretching factors, and sum of crustal stretching factors, were selected.Principal component analysis was applied to reduce the dimensionality of the multi-indicator system and obtain an oil and gas enrichment score for quantitative prediction of favorable prolific depressions. The deviation between the inverted Moho depth and seismic constraints was small;thus, the data effectively reflect the variations in the characteristics of each depression. The analysis revealed significant statistical features related to the minimum Moho depth/crustal thickness and the sum of Moho/crustal stretching factors associated with prolific depressions.Based on the oil and gas enrichment score, the depressions were classified into four categories related to their different deep crustal structural characteristics.Highly active ClassⅠ,ClassⅡ,and ClassⅢdepressions are predicted to be favorable prolific depressions. This study expands the research on quantitatively predicting favorable prolific depressions in the Bohai Basin using the deep crustal structure and can contribute to reducing production costs and improving exploration efficiency in future explorations. 展开更多

The South China Block(SCB)is formed by the amalgamation of the Yangtze and Cathaysia blocks during the Early Neoproterozoic along the Jiangnan Orogen. However, the precise amalgamation time of these two blocks and the location of the united SCB in the Rodinia supercontinent remain highly debatable.Various tectonic models have been proposed and they may have different implications for the crustal thickness evolution of the central SCB in Early Neoproterozoic. To evaluate these models, this paper uses a recently calibrated Eu/Eu*-inzircon proxy to reconstruct crustal thickness evolution of the central SCB during Early Neoproterozoic.I compiled and screened U–Pb ages and trace elements of 900–700 Ma detrital zircons from the central SCB and then calculated the zircon Eu/Eu*values.The age-binned average zircon Eu/Eu*displays a decreasing trend from 870 to 790 Ma,and thus indicates no significant crustal thickening event occurred during this time interval. This finding seems to be inconsistent with tectonic models that the Yangtze and Cathaysia blocks amalgamated during this time interval.Yet,given that available coupled detrital zircon U–Pb and trace element datasets are very limited, additional studies are warranted to further evaluate this hypothesis. 展开更多

Tanlu fault zone(TLFZ)is the largest active fault zone in eastern China. It is characterized by complex tectonic evolution and multiple faults and marks the boundary between the North and South China blocks. An indepth understanding of the distinct crustal structures of both parts of the TLFZ will provide valuable insights into the lithospheric and crustal thinning in eastern China, extensive magmatism since the Mesozoic, and formation mechanisms of metallogenic belts along the Yangtze River. In this study,a two-layer H-κstacking approach was adopted to estimate the thicknesses of the sediment and crystalline crust as well as the corresponding vP/vS ratios based on high-quality teleseismic P-wave receiver functions recorded by permanent and temporary stations in and around the TLFZ.The geological units in the study region were delineated, especially the crustal structures beneath extensive sedimentary basins on both sides of the TLFZ.The following conclusions can be drawn:(1)The crustal thickness in and around the TLFZ greatly varies depending on the segment. In the northern segment, the crust is relatively thin beneath the eastern part of the Songliao Basin,a broad uplift of the Moho can be observed, and the Moho descends from south to north. The crust below the central and southern segments becomes thinner from west to east. The thickness of the crust is less than 30 km toward the eastern side of the boundary between the Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, that is,significantly thinner than in other areas. In terms of the vP/vS ratios, high anomalies were detected in the central-southern segments of the TLFZ,indicating the upwelling of deep mantle magma via deep faults.(2)Positive isostatic gravity anomalies were observed in the eastern part of the northern segment of the TLFZ and in the eastern part of the Suwan segment. The crustal thickness is smaller than that obtained from the Airy model of isostasy. This suggests that the lower crust in this area may have experienced intensive transformation processes, which may be related to crustal thinning(caused by crustal extension)and the strong uplift of the mantle in eastern China. The isostatic gravity anomalies between the eastern and western parts of the TLFZ indicate that the fault zone plays a dominant role in controlling the development of the deep crustal structure.(3)Significant crustal thinning was observed beneath the eastern part of the boundary between the Jiangsu and Anhui provinces in the southern segment of the TLFZ,suggesting that this area is prone to lithospheric thinning of the North China Craton.Due to the subduction, compression, and retreat of the Paleo-Pacific Plate during the Yanshanian Period as well as the dehydration of subducting oceanic crust(within subduction zones),the asthenosphere and oceanic crust in eastern China partially melted, resulting in mantle enrichment. The basic magma from the mantle is accumulated at the base of the crust, leading to magmatic underplating. In areas with weak topography toward the east of the TLFZ,magma rises to the upper crust and surface, resulting in the enrichment of multiple metal deposits in this area. 展开更多

Shanxi Graben is in the middle part of the North China Craton, from south to north. With the teleseismic data recorded by Regional Seismograph Networks and the temporary ZBnet-W Seismic Array around east part of Shanxi Graben, we measured the crustal thickness and Vp/Vs ratio beneath each station using the H-K stack of receiver functions. The observed crustal thickness shows obvious lateral variation, increasing gradually from east to west in the Shanxi Graben. Beneath the Shanxi Graben the crust is relatively thicker than both sides of the south and the north. In addition, the Vp/Vs ratio in the north of study zone is higher than that in the south. The highest Vp/Vs ratio exists in the crust of the Xinding basin and the Datong basin. Our study also suggests that high velocity ratio might result from the strong activities of the magmation and volcanism. 展开更多

The variation of crustal thickness is a critical index to reveal how the continental crust evolved over its four billion years.Generally, ratios of whole-rock trace elements, such as Sr/Y,(La/Yb)n and Ce/Y,are used to characterize crustal thicknesses. However, sometimes confusing results are obtained since there is no enough filtered data. Here,a state-of-the-art approach, based on a machine-learning algorithm,is proposed to predict crustal thickness using global major-and trace-element geochemical data of intermediate arc rocks and intraplate basalts, and their corresponding crustal thicknesses. After the validation processes, the root-mean-square error(RMSE)and the coefficient of determination(R2)score were used to evaluate the performance of the machine learning algorithm based on the learning dataset which has never been used during the training phase. The results demonstrate that the machine learning algorithm is more reliable in predicting crustal thickness than the conventional methods. The trained model predicts that the crustal thickness of the eastern North China Craton(ENCC)was-45 km from the Late Triassic to the Early Cretaceous,but-35 km from the Early Cretaceous, which corresponds to the paleo-elevation of 3.0±1.5 km at Early Mesozoic, and decease to the present-day elevation in the ENCC.The estimates are generally consistent with the previous studies on xenoliths from the lower crust and on the paleoenvironment of the coastal mountain of the ENCC,which indicates that the lower crust of the ENCC was delaminated abruptly at the Early Cretaceous. 展开更多

Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the most complex region for crustal thickness inversion, while high-resolu- tion earth gravity model (EGM) makes it possible to obtain high precision gravity anomaly, which is a key pa- rameter to depict the Earth' s inner structure in geodesy domain. On the basis of this principle, we calculated the Bouguer gravity anomalies in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau with EGM2008 and SRTM6.0 by efficient high-degree spherical harmonic synthesis algorithm. In order to obtain the gravity anomaly caused by Moho density mutant, the noises caused by the topography was removed by wavelet details. Then, the crustal thickness was corrected on the basis of CRUST 2.0 with the deep-large-scale single density interface formula. The inversion result indi- cates that the crustal thickness in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is between 50 km and 75 kin, which is in correspon- dence with the recent science research result. Compared with the 2 degree CRUST 2.0 model, the spatial resolution of crustal thickness in our research can reach 40 arc minutes. In addition, there is a positive relationship between the inversed crustal thickness and topography, which can prove the effectiveness of Airy-Heiskanen isostatic model in gravity reduction. 展开更多

Extensive geophysical research has been carried out in southeast Tibet due to the complex geological structure and high seismicity. The study of the Moho interface can provide useful information for the geophysical research.SWChinaCVM-1.0 is the first version of a regional community velocity model for the Sichuan-Yunnan region and aims to provide a reference for seismological research in the region.Based on this model,a high-precision community Moho interface model can be obtained using common conversion point(CCP)stacking,to further expand the applicability of SWChinaCVM-1.0.Before CCP stacking,it is necessary to check the fit of the practical and theoretical travel times of the Ps phase and its multiples under the constraints of the model.Using this method, referred to as Hκ0 stacking,we determined the Moho interface. However, the multiples were poorly fitted with the theoretical travel times at many stations, and the crustal thickness obtained was inconsistent with previous findings. Therefore,we speculate that the SWChinaCVM-1.0 model has some limitations that render it incompatible with the CCP stacking method. To further verify this hypothesis,we performed H-κstacking using the v_(P)-v_(S)model,v_(P)model,v_(S)model,and the regional average velocity v_(P0)and compared the results with those of H_(κ0)stacking.The results of the comparison indicate that the SWChinaCVM-1.0 model requires improvements. In addition,by analyzing the SWChinaCVM-1.0 inversion process,we found that the v_(S)model was more reliable than the v_(P)model.Finally,we adopted the crustal thickness obtained using H-κstacking based on the v_(S)model as the initial version of a community Moho interface model for the Sichuan-Yunnan region(SWChinaCVM-MOHO-1.0). 展开更多

A new approach was taken to investigate the crustal stucture of the Kane transform and its aseismic extension, using high quality bathymetry and gravity data. The gravity signatures associated with variations in crustal thickness of the transform were isolated from the observed free air anomaly, was continued downward to the mean depth of the crust/mantle interface and converted onto the relief on that surface. The crustal thickness of the transform was then calculated by subtracting seawater depth from the depth of the gravity inferred crust/mantle interface.3 D gravity investigation results indicate that the Kane transform and adjacent areas are associated with a crust thinner than normal oceanic crust. The transform trough is largely underlain by a crust less than 4.5km thick and in the nodal basins the crust may be as thin as 3 km. The crust beneath the fracture zone valley is 4-5.5 km thick. The rift valleys on the spreading segments are also characterized by thin crust (4-5 km thick). Thin oceanic crust extends to 20-30 km from the transform axis, except for some localized places such as the inside corner highs adjoining the ridge transform intersections. These gravity inferred results match fairly well with limited published seismic results. Thinning of the crust is mainly attributable to a thin layer 3, which in turn may be explained by the combined effects of reduced magma supply at the ends of the spreading segments and tectonic activities in the region. 展开更多

The Xing’an Mongolian Orogenic Belt(XMOB) and the northern margin of North China Craton(NCC) have undergone multistage tectonic superimposition and the tectonic evolution is extremely complicated. We collect the teleseismic data of 44 temporary broadband seismic stations deployed in the XMOB and the northern margin of NCC to calculate the P wave receiver functions. The crustal thickness and average crustal ratio as well as the Poisson’s ratios beneath 33 stations are estimated using the H-κ stacking method. The results show:(1) the crustal thickness of the study area ranges from 38.7 to 42.7 km, with an average thickness of 41.2 km. There is a great difference in crustal thickness on both sides of Solonker suture zone. The characteristics of crustal thickness support the geodynamic model that the Paleo-Asian Ocean subducted and closed at the Solonker suture zone.(2) The Poisson’s ratios in the study area are low, ranging from 0.215 to 0.277, with an average value of 0.243, suggesting that the rock composition of the area is dominated by felsic-acid rocks.(3) There exists a negative correlation between the Poisson’s ratio and the crustal thickness. Combined with the lower values of Poisson’s ratio, we speculate that the delamination is the major mechanism in crustal extension and thinning in the study area. 展开更多

The crustal structure in Myanmar can provide valuable information for the eastern margin of the ongoing IndoEurasian collision system. We successively performed H-k stacking of the receiver function and joint inversion of the receiver function and surface wave dispersion to invert the crustal thickness(H),shear wave velocity(V_(S)),and the V_(P)/V_(S) ratio(k)beneath nine permanent seismic stations in Myanmar.H was found to increase from 26 km in the south and east of the study area to 51 km in the north and west, and the V_(P)/V_(S) ratio was complex and high.Striking differences in the crust were observed for different tectonic areas. In the Indo-Burma Range, the thick crust(H~51 km)and lower velocities may be related to the accretionary wedge from the Indian Plate. In the Central Myanmar Basin, the thin crust(H=26.9-35.5 km)and complex V_(P)/V_(S) ratio and V_(S) suggest extensional tectonics. In the Eastern Shan Plateau, the relatively thick crust and normal V_(P)/V_(S) ratio are consistent with its location along the western edge of the rigid Sunda Block. 展开更多

Based on the teleseismic waveform data recorded by 82 permanent broadband stations in Guangdong Province and its adjacent areas including Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangxi, Hainan and Taiwan, we calculate body wave receiver functions under all stations, and obtain the crustal thickness and average Poisson's ratio beneath all stations by the H-K stacking-search method of receiver function. The results show that the crustal thickness with an average thickness of 29. 5km in Guangdong Province and its adjacent areas ranges between 26. 8km and 33. 6kin and gradually thins from northwest to southeast. The crustal thickness in the Zhujiang Delta, western Guangdong, Nanning and Nan'ao areas is relatively thinner and ranges between 25. 0km and 28. 0km. The minimum crustal thickness is about 26km beneath Wengtian, Hainan and the Zhanjiang zone and Shangchuan Island in Guangdong. The crustal thickness in the zones of Mingxi, Fujian and Yongzhou, Hunan is thicker and varies between 31.0km and 34.0km. The distribution of Poisson's ratio in our study region ranges between 0.20 and 0. 29. Poisson's ratios in Southeast Hainan, the coastal areas of East Guangdong and West Fujian and the South Jiangxi have distinctly higher values than in others. It suggests that the various geothermal fields located in these areas have high heat flow values. The distribution of crustal thickness and Poisson's ratio has an obvious block feature and may be related to the distribution of faults and historical earthquakes. 展开更多

This paper presents the changes of crust thickness and Poisson's ratios distribution in the Binchuan region, where the first air-gun transmitting station and it's a small dense array were deployed. From September 2011 to January 2014, more than 239 teleseismic events of M≥ 6.0 were recorded in 16 stations in the Binchuan region. Their P-wave receiver functions were analyzed respectively. The high spatial resolution result shows that the average crust thickness of Binchuan region is 45.3km, it follows the rule of "deeper in the north and east part, shallower in the south and west part. " The deepest region is in Xiaoyindian Station; the crust thickness is 47.9km; the shallowest region is in Paiying Station, it has the thickness of 42. lkm. It shows that the deeper Moho surface nearby the Chenghai fault and shallower nearby the Honghe fault; the isoline distribution of thickness changes greatly nearby the Chenghai fault and slowly nearby the Honghe fault. From the distribution of Poisson's ratios, it is unevenly in the study area with a great difference from the north part to the south part, which shows a characteristic of "lower in the north, higher in the south". The Poisson's ratio nearby the Honghe fault is medium too high ( 0. 26 ≤ σ≤0. 29 ) ; lower nearby the Chenghai fault ( ≤0. 26). This paper concludes the possible reason of different characteristic between Poisson's ratio and crust thickness is thicker in the upper crust in the Binchuan region. 展开更多

The use of spatial interpolation methods of data is becoming increasingly common in geophysical analysis, for that reason, currently, several software already contain many of these methods, allowing more detailed studies. In the present work four interpolation methods are evaluated, for the crustal thickness data of Brazil tectonic provinces, with the intention of making Moho’s map of the regions. The methods used were IDW, Natural Neighbor, Spline and Kriging. We compiled 257 data that constituted a geographic database implemented in the template Postgree PostGIS and were processed using the tools of interpolation located in the Spatyal Analyst Tools program ArcGIS?9 ESRI. Traditional methods, IDW, Natural Neighbor and Spline, generate artifacts in their results, the effects of aim, not consistent with the behavior of crust. Such anomalies are generated because of mathematical formulation methods added to data compiled gravimetry. The analysis results of geostatistical Kriging are more refined and consistent, showing no specific anormalities, i.e., the crustal thickness variation (thinning and thickening) is introduced gradually. Initial our estimates were separated in four specific blocks. With the approval of new networks (BRASIS, RSISNE and RSIS), the crustal thickness database for Brazil may be amended or supplemented so that new models may be generated more consistently, complementing studies of regional tectonics evolution and seismicity. 展开更多

Lithospheric structure beneath the northeastern Qinghai-Xizang Plateau is of vital significance for studying the geodynamic processes of crustal thickening and expansion of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. We conducted a joint inversion of receiver functions and surface wave dispersions with P-wave velocity constraints using data from the Chin Array Ⅱ temporary stations deployed across the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. Prior to joint inversion, we applied the H-κ-c method(Li JT et al., 2019) to the receiver function data in order to correct for the back-azimuthal variations in the arrival times of Ps phases and crustal multiples caused by crustal anisotropy and dipping interfaces. High-resolution images of vS, crustal thickness, and vP/vSstructures in the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau were simultaneously derived from the joint inversion. The seismic images reveal that crustal thickness decreases outward from the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. The stable interiors of the Ordos and Alxa blocks exhibited higher velocities and lower crustal vP/vSratios. While, lower velocities and higher vP/vSratios were observed beneath the Qilian Orogen and Songpan-Ganzi terrane(SPGZ), which are geologically active and mechanically weak, especially in the mid-lower crust.Delamination or thermal erosion of the lithosphere triggered by hot asthenospheric flow contributes to the observed uppermost mantle low-velocity zones(LVZs) in the SPGZ. The crustal thickness, vS, and vP/vSratios suggest that whole lithospheric shortening is a plausible mechanism for crustal thickening in the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, supporting the idea of coupled lithospheric-scale deformation in this region. 展开更多

We collected high-quality teleseismic events recorded by 12 broadband seismographs deployed in the Anyuan Coal Mine and its adjacent areas in Pingxiang City,Jiangxi Province for nearly two years. The H-κ-c stacking method was employed to obtain the crustal thickness and Poisson's ratio distribution, then the characteristics of crustal structure below the stations were obtained by using the time-domain linear inversion method. The crustal thickness in the Anyuan Coal Mine and its adjacent areas ranges from approximately 32~35 km,with an average thickness of 33 km,which is consistent with the crustal thickness results in South China from previous studies using the receiver function method. The average Poisson's ratio of the crustal bulk composition in the study area varies between 0.22 and 0.25,which is lower than the global value with a 0.27 average, indicating a predominantly intermediate-acidic or felsic crustal composition. There is a weak negative correlation between Poisson's ratio and crustal thickness estimates in the Anyuan Coal Mine and its adjacent areas, suggesting that the absence of mafic-ultramafic materials in the lower crust is associated with the process of crustal delamination. The velocity inversion results indicate that the crustal structure including three velocity discontinuity interfaces, with the first at a depth of approximately 1.5 km,the second at about 10~15 km,and the third being the Moho. The study also indicates that the results obtained by the H-κ-c stacking method are significantly better than those obtained by the H-κmethod,effectively reducing the standard deviation and dispersion of crustal thickness and vP/vSratio. 展开更多

Crustal thickness and composition are closely related to geology and tectonic evolution of the region.Studying the differences in the crustal thickness and composition of the South China Block(SCB)is important to gain a comprehensive understanding of multi-phase amalgamation, breakup, reworking, and regional geodynamic processes. In this study, teleseismic data from 135 high-density portable broadband stations from Sino Probe were processed using Common Conversion Point(CCP)stacking and H-κstacking methods. The Moho depth and P-wave and S-wave velocity ratio(V_(p)/V_(s))were studied. Our results revealed several insights about the tectonic processes in the SCB.First, the crustal structure and V_(p)/V_(s)ratios of the Cathaysia Block,Jiangnan Orogenic Belt, and Yangtze Block were significantly different. The average depth of the Moho in the Cathaysia Block was approximately 31 km,and the V_(p)/V_(s)ratios increased from the inland area(1.66)to the coastal area(1.78),indicating the oceanward increase of mafic proportion in the lower crust, which is related to the influence of the Paleo-Pacific Plate westward subduction.Second, the crustal thickness of Jiangnan Orogenic Belt deepens from east ca.31 to the west ca.42 km and the V_(p)/V_(s)ratios varied from 1.75 to 1.64,illustrating a relatively felsic crust, which could have been related to the Mesozoic upper crustal thickening under compression followed by the lower crust removal under the extensional background.Third, the average crustal thickness of the Yangtze Block was 42 km,and the V_(p)/V_(s)ratios ranged from 1.64 to 1.84,presenting a positive correlation between the Moho depth and the V_(p)/V_(s)ratio,which is explained by the relatively thick mafic lower crust.Based on the variations in the crustal structure and V_(p)/V_(s)ratios of the profile,we inferred that the central part of the Jiangnan Orogenic Belt was bounded by the Jiangshan-Shaoxing-Hengyang in the east and the Jiujiang-Shitai-Jishou in the west. The small-scale Moho depth undulations at the intersection of the Cathaysia Block and the Jiangnan Orogenic Belt could be related to the Mesozoic compression-extension geodynamic transformation. 展开更多

A total of 1939 receiver functions were obtained from 732 teleseismic events (M〉5.0) recorded at 21 broadband portable seis- mic stations on the Tengchong, Baoshan and Simao blocks and Yangtze platform. These stations were installed by the Institute of Crustal Dynamics, China Earthquake Administration during 2010 and 2011. Using the H-x stacking and searching method, crustal thickness and velocity ratio beneath the stations are obtained. Results show that crustal thickness and Poisson's ratio in- ferred from the velocity ratio clearly vary, and they illustrate block features in deep structures. Except for the Tengchong block crustal thickness increases from south to north along the same block and from west to east across different blocks. In the Yangtze platform, Poisson's ratio and crustal thickness show a consistent and significant increasing trend from south to north, possibly indicating that crustal thickening is caused mainly by lower crustal variations. In contrast, Poisson's ratio has no sig- nificant change within the Baoshan and Simao blocks. Such differences demonstrate that the Jinshajiang-Red River fault is a southern boundary of the South China block. The H-κ results inferred from three portable stations on the Tengchong block show high Poisson's ratios, but they vary clearly with back-azimuth, implying the existence of strong anisotropy in the crustal medium beneath the stations. 展开更多

The gravity and topography of Venus obtained from observations of the Magellan mission, as well as the gravity and topography from our numerical mantle convection model, are discussed in this paper. We used the hypothesis that the geoid of degrees 2–40 is produced by sublithospheric mantle density anomalies that are associated with dynamical process within the mantle. We obtained the model dynamical admittance(the geoid topography ratio based on a convection model) by a numerical simulation of the Venusian mantle convection, and used it to correct the dynamical effect in the calculation of crustal thickness. After deducting the dynamical effect, the thickness of the Venusian crust is presented. The results show that the gravity and topography are strongly correlated with the Venusian mantle convection and the Venusian crust has a significant influence on the topography. The Venusian crustal thickness varies from 28 to 70 km. Ishtar Terra, and Ovda Regio and Thetis Regio in western Aphrodite Terra have the highest crustal thickness(larger than 50 km). The high topography of these areas is thought to be supported by crustal compensation and our results are consistent with the hypothesis that these areas are remnants of ancient continents. The crustal thickness in the Beta, Themis, Dione, Eistla, Bell, and Lada regiones is thin and shows less correlation with the topography, especially in the Atla and Imdr regiones in the eastern part of Aphrodite Terra. This is consistent with the hypothesis that these highlands are mainly supported by mantle plumes. Compared with the crustal thickness calculated with the dynamical effect, our results are more consistent with the crust evolution and internal dynamical process of Venus. 展开更多

The Tian Shan is a vast range that spans several countries in Asia.Understanding its evolutionary history may provide valuable insights into intracontinental orogenic dynamics. In this study,we explored the crustal characteristics of the Tian Shan and their relationships to the tectonic evolution of the region.A new H-stacking method that combines the P receiver function and gravity anomalies was used to estimate the thickness and ratio of P-to S-wave velocities(Vp/Vs)for 91 broadband seismic stations in the central and western Tian Shan. Our results revealed significant lateral variations in crustal thickness and Vp/Vs.A—45-km-thick crust and an intermediate-high Vp/Vs(-1.74-1.84)were found in the Kazakh Shield and Tarim Basin, which we interpreted to indicate a mafic crystalline basement and lower crust. The central Tian Shan varied greatly in crustal thickness(40-64 km)and Vp/Vs ratio(1.65-2.00).which may be due to crustal shortening, mafic underplating, and crustal melting. In contrast,we observed a relatively thin crust(42-50 km)with an intermediate Vp/Vs ratio(-1.78)in the western Tian Shan. The differences in the crustal structures between the western and central Tian Shan imply that the Talas-Fergana Fault may be trans-lithospheric. 展开更多
