文摘Most of the existing studies on tunnel blast wave are based on spherical or grouped charges, however, conventional weapons are mostly cylindrical rather than spherical. In order to analyze the impact of cylindrical charges on the tunnel blast wave loads and to develop a quantitative calculation method, this study carried out experimental and numerical research.Initially, external explosion experiments were conducted using both 35 kg spherical charges and cylindrical charges with aspect ratio of 4.8 at two different distances from the tunnel entrance.Comparative analysis of the blast wave parameters in the tunnel revealed that the explosive equivalent of the cylindrical charges was significantly higher than that of the spherical charges. To address this,an equivalent coefficient k based on the spherical charges was proposed for the cylindrical charges.Subsequently, numerical simulations were conducted for the experimental conditions, and the numerical simulation results match the experiments well.Through numerical calculations, the reliability of the equivalent coefficient k under the experimental conditions was verified, and comparison analysis indicated that the explosion energy of cylindrical charges spreads more radially, resulting in more explosion energy entering the tunnel, which is the fundamental reason for the increase in tunnel blast wave loads.Additionally, analyzing the explosion energy ratio entering the tunnel is an effective method for calculating the equivalent coefficient k.Finally, through more than one hundred sets of numerical calculation results, the impact of the proportional distance l and the ratio of charge mass to the tunnel cross-section dimension 4 on the equivalence coefficients k was investigated. An empirical formula for the equivalence coefficient k was derived through fitting, and the accuracy of the formula was validated through literature experimental results. The research findings of this paper will provide valuable guidance for the calculation of blast wave loads in tunnel.

文摘Cardiac injury initiates repair mechanisms and results in cardiac remodeling and fi-brosis,which appears to be a leading cause of cardiovascular diseases.Cardiac fi-brosis is characterized by the accumulation of extracellular matrix proteins, mainly collagen in the cardiac interstitium. Many experimental studies have demonstrated that fibrotic injury in the heart is reversible;therefore,it is vital to understand differ-ent molecular mechanisms that are involved in the initiation, progression, and resolu-tion of cardiac fibrosis to enable the development of antifibrotic agents.Of the many experimental models, one of the recent models that has gained renewed interest is isoproterenol(ISP)-induced cardiac fibrosis.ISP is a synthetic catecholamine,sympa-thomimetic,and nonselectiveβ-adrenergic receptor agonist. The overstimulated and sustained activation ofβ-adrenergic receptors has been reported to induce biochemi-cal and physiological alterations and ultimately result in cardiac remodeling.ISP has been used for decades to induce acute myocardial infarction. However, the use of low doses and chronic administration of ISP have been shown to induce cardiac fibrosis;this practice has increased in recent years.Intraperitoneal or subcutaneous ISP has been widely used in preclinical studies to induce cardiac remodeling manifested by fibrosis and hypertrophy. The induced oxidative stress with subsequent perturbations in cellular signaling cascades through triggering the release of free radicals is consid-ered the initiating mechanism of myocardial fibrosis.ISP is consistently used to induce fibrosis in laboratory animals and in cardiomyocytes isolated from animals. In recent years, numerous phytochemicals and synthetic molecules have been evaluated in ISP-induced cardiac fibrosis. The present review exclusively provides a comprehensive summary of the pathological biochemical, histological, and molecular mechanisms of ISP in inducing cardiac fibrosis and hypertrophy. It also summarizes the application of this experimental model in the therapeutic evaluation of natural as well as syn-thetic compounds to demonstrate their potential in mitigating myocardial fibrosis and hypertrophy.

文摘Floating breakwaters(FBs)are commonly employed for the protection of coastal installations. In this work,a convextype floating breakwater(FB)is proposed, and its hydrodynamic characteristics are studied through systematic laboratory experiments. Two different deck widths and two different mooring systems are set in the experiment. The transmission coefficients, reflection coefficients, motion responses and mooring forces of convex-type FBs are obtained in experiments. The influences of the deck width and mooring system on the hydrodynamic characteristics of the proposed FB are analyzed and compared. The experimental results show that the reflection coefficient and mooring force of the convex-type FB with a cross-mooring system are significantly larger than those of the convextype FB with a parallel-mooring system.A convex-type FB with a larger deck width has a higher reflection coefficient. The convex-type FBs with cross-and parallel-mooring systems have similar surge and heave motions, but the cross-mooring results in small roll motion. In addition, reliable prediction formulas for the transmission coefficient of convex-type FBs with different mooring systems have been developed, which are important for engineering design.

文摘This paper proposes a modification of the Forrestal-Warren perforation model aimed at extending its applicability range to intermediately-thick high-hardness armor steel plates. When impacted by armorpiercing projectiles, these plates tend to fail through adiabatic shear plugging which significantly reduces their ballistic resistance. To address this effect,an approach for determining effective thickness was defined and incorporated into the predictive model.Ballistic impact tests were performed to assess the modification's validity,in which ARMOX 500T steel plates were subjected to perpendicular impacts from 7.62×39 mm steel-cored rounds under various velocities.Frequent target failure by soft plugging was observed,as well as the brittle shatter of the hard steel core.Key properties of the recovered plugs including their mass, length and diameter were measured and reported along with the projectiles'residual velocities.Additionally, independent data from the open literature were included in the analysis for further validation. The original Forrestal-Warren model and the novel effective thickness modification were then used to establish the relationship between impact and residual velocities,as well as to determine the ballistic limit velocity. The comparison revealed that the proposed approach significantly improves the model's accuracy, showing a strong correlation with experimental data and reducing deviations to within a few percent. This enhancement highlights the potential of the effective thickness term, which could also be applied to other predictive models to extend their applicability range.Further exploration into other armor steels and impact conditions is recommended to assess the method's versatility.

文摘Objective:To screen and identify the key active molecules, signaling pathways, and therapeutic targets of Shuxuening(SXN)injection for treating liver cirrhosis(LC)and to evaluate its therapeutic potential using a mouse model. Methods:Target genes of SXN and LC were retrieved from public databases, and enrichment analysis was performed.A proteineprotein interaction(PPI)network was constructed using the Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes/Proteins(STRING),and hub genes were identified using Molecular Complex Detection(MCODE).LC was induced in rats and mice via intraperitoneal injections of diethylnitrosamine and carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)for 12 weeks.Starting at week 7,SXN was administered intraperitoneally to the mice in the treatment group.Serum and liver tissues of the mice were collected for the detection of indicators, pathological staining, and expression analysis of hub targets using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).Results:We identified 368 overlapping genes(OLGs)between SXN and LC targets. These OLGs were subsequently used to build a PPI network and to screen for hub genes.Enrichment analysis showed that these genes were associated with cancer-related pathways, including phosphoinositide-3-kinase/Akt and mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling and various cellular processes, such as responses to chemicals and metabolic regulation. In vivo experiments demonstrated that SXN treatment significantly improved liver function and pathology in CCl4-induced LC mice by reducing inflammation and collagen deposition.Furthermore,qRT-PCR demonstrated that SXN regulated the expression of MAPK8,AR and CASP3 in the livers of LC mice. Conclusion:This study highlighted the therapeutic effects of SXN in alleviating LC using both bioinformatics and experimental methods. The observed effect was associated with modulation of hub gene expression, particularly MAPK8,and CASP3.

文摘In the scenario of a steam generator tube rupture accident in a lead-cooled fast reactor, secondary circuit subcooled water under high pressure is injected into an ordinary-pressure primary vessel, where a molten lead-based alloy(typically pure lead or lead-bismuth eutectic(LBE))is used as the coolant. To clarify the pressure build-up characteristics under water-jet injection, this study conducted several experiments by injecting pressurized water into a molten LBE pool at Sun Yat-sen University. To obtain a further understanding, several new experimental parameters were adopted, including the melt temperature, water subcooling, injection pressure, injection duration, and nozzle diameter.Through detailed analyses,it was found that the pressure and temperature during the water-melt interaction exhibited a consistent variation trend with our previous water-droplet injection mode LBE experiment.Similarly, the existence of a steam explosion was confirmed, which typically results in a much stronger pressure build-up.For the non-explosion cases, increasing the injection pressure,melt-pool temperature, nozzle diameter, and water subcooling promoted pressure build-up in the melt pool. However,a limited enhancement effect was observed when increasing the injection duration, which may be owing to the continually rising pressure in the interaction vessel or the isolation effect of the generated steam cavity.Regardless of whether a steam explosion occurred, the calculated mechanical and kinetic energy conversion efficiencies of the melt were relatively small(not exceeding 4.1%and 0.7%,respectively).Moreover,the range of the conversion efficiency was similar to that of previous water-droplet experiments, although the upper limit of the jet mode was slightly lower.

文摘Powered by advanced information technology, more and more complex systems are exhibiting characteristics of the cyber-physical-social systems(CPSS).In this context, computational experiments method has emerged as a novel approach for the design, analysis, management, control, and integration of CPSS,which can realize the causal analysis of complex systems by means of“algorithmization”of“counterfactuals”.However, because CPSS involve human and social factors(e.g.,autonomy,initiative,and sociality),it is difficult for traditional design of experiment(DOE)methods to achieve the generative explanation of system emergence. To address this challenge, this paper proposes an integrated approach to the design of computational experiments, incorporating three key modules:1)Descriptive module:Determining the influencing factors and response variables of the system by means of the modeling of an artificial society;2)Interpretative module:Selecting factorial experimental design solution to identify the relationship between influencing factors and macro phenomena;3)Predictive module:Building a meta-model that is equivalent to artificial society to explore its operating laws. Finally,a case study of crowd-sourcing platforms is presented to illustrate the application process and effectiveness of the proposed approach, which can reveal the social impact of algorithmic behavior on“rider race”.

文摘Fishing boats are usually anchored side by side in the harbor because of the small structural size and poor resistance to wind and waves.A series of physical model experiments are conducted to investigate the motion characteristics of multiple fishing boats that are moored together.A decay test in calm water is conducted to study the natural period and damping coefficients.Regular wave experiments are performed to analyze the roll motion response of each boat for four modes(different numbers of boats side-by-side).The results indicate that the“natural period”of each boat for the mode of multi-boats especially three or four boats,is slightly smaller than that of a single boat, whereas the damping coefficient is visibly larger than that of a single boat. The maximum roll angle of each boat does not appear at the same time under a 90°incident wave.Small roll motion energy is generated at low frequencies and high frequencies when multiple boats are moored together. The energy decreases with the increasing wave period. The roll motion responses of each boat in four modes exhibit different trends with the increasing wave frequency. The number of boats and boat position have significant effects on roll motion.

文摘Accurate prediction of future rice yield needs the precise estimations of rice yield response to climate change factors,of which the most important one is the increasing carbon dioxide(CO_(2))concentrations.Estimates of CO_(2) fertilization effect(CFE)on rice, however, still had large uncertainties. Therefore, using the rice planting areas in East China as the study area,we firstly compared the rice yields and CFE predicted by four state-of-the-art crop models, and found that the CFE predicted by these models had significant differences. We then quantified the CFE on rice yield using the field-controlled experiment conducted at Danyang site at Jiangsu province.Using CFE measurements from a field experiment as benchmark,we have developed an experiment–model integration approach aiming to reduce this variation. This study thus highlights the large CFE uncertainties of current crop models and provides us with a method to reduce this uncertainty, which is beneficial for the accurate prediction of future global rice yield in the context of climate change.
