Though prior research has identified that gratitude is associated with benign/malicious envy(BeMaS).The pur-pose of this study was to explore the causal relationship between gratitude and BeMaS among Chinese adoles-cen...Though prior research has identified that gratitude is associated with benign/malicious envy(BeMaS).The pur-pose of this study was to explore the causal relationship between gratitude and BeMaS among Chinese adoles-cents.The two-wave study,in which 906 adolescents participated,includes measurements of gratitude and BeMaS.We employed the structural equation models to test the cross-lagged effect between trait gratitude and BeMaS.The results showed that gratitude could positively predict benign envy and could negatively predict mal-icious envy.Besides,there was no evidence for the reverse or reciprocal relationships between gratitude and BeMaS.Thefindings provide further evidence about the causal relationship between gratitude and BeMaS among adolescents.Moreover,these results have implications for gratitude interventions that promote the constructive meaning of envy and reduce the negative influence of envy.展开更多

Fathers play an important role in adolescents’development,which is significant for their development and influences their mental health,including feeling of loneliness.However,the effects and mechanisms of father-lov...Fathers play an important role in adolescents’development,which is significant for their development and influences their mental health,including feeling of loneliness.However,the effects and mechanisms of father-love absence on individual loneliness are not clear.Based on the social functionalist theory and the social needs theory,this study examines the influence of individual fatherlove absence on loneliness and its underlying mechanisms.A questionnaire survey was administered to 319 junior high school students and 1,476 high school students.The results showed that adolescents with father-love absence had higher levels of loneliness,and that father-love absence affected loneliness levels through mediating pathways of individual gratitude,peer relationships,and gratitude to peer relationships.This study not only confirms the negative effects of father-love absence on adolescents’loneliness,but also explains the mediate roles of individual gratitude and peer relationships.It enriches the theoretical system related to family education and has important theoretical and practical implications for further interventions on adolescents’mental health from the perspective of fatherless parenting.展开更多

As Gao Shan has argued, the environmental ethics of Western philosophers such as Holmes Rolston and Paul Taylor is based on extending the notion of intrinsic value to that of objects of nature, and as such it is not very compatible with Chinese ethics. This is related to Gao＇s rejection of most--if not all--Western ＂rationalist＂ environmental ethics, a stance that I grant her for pragmatic reasons （though I remain neutral about it theoretically）. Gao argues that the Daoist notion of living in harmony with nature can instead become the basis of a Chinese environmental ethics. However, the involved Daoist conception of living in harmony with nature is, in my view, based on an aesthetic property. The paper argues that despite the appeal of the Daoist view for a Chinese environmental ethics, an aesthetic property cannot provide the basis for a global environmental ethics. The paper also considers another version of Daoist environmental ethics, which does not rely on an aesthetic notion, but I argue that it too fails as such a candidate. As an alternative, the paper considers and applies contemporary Western thinkers on gratitude （such as Robert Emmons and Elizabeth Loder）, proposing that gratitude to nature （environmental gratitude） can indeed provide the needed basis.展开更多

Purpose As the development of smaller accelerators technique,an X-band bi-period side-coupled accelerating structure has been designed for medical use.Methods The structure’s working frequency is 9.3 GHz.π/2 mode is...Purpose As the development of smaller accelerators technique,an X-band bi-period side-coupled accelerating structure has been designed for medical use.Methods The structure’s working frequency is 9.3 GHz.π/2 mode is chosen for the structure’s stability.There are 11 accelerating cells and 10 coupling cells,the first 5 of the accelerating cells work as non-light velocity part(βof the electron from 0.17 to 0.94),while the other 6 work as light velocity part.After CST simulation,the coupling constant between accelerating cells and coupling cells is 5%,and effi-cient shunt impedance is 142 MΩ/m.To feed power into the structure,a coupler is designed in the middle of the structure and the coupling coefficient is 1.4.Results After optimization,the particle’s capture efficiency is more than 30%,the particle energy is 2 MeV and the peak current is 60 mA,with the magnetron’s input power being 0.32 MW.Conclusion X-band side-coupled accelerator efficiency is high and is a more optimized design.This design is very meaningful for the development of smaller accelerators technique.展开更多
