Since the dead zone phenomenon occurs in electro-hydraulic servo system, the output of the system corresponding to a sinusoidal input contains higher harmonic besides the fundamental input, which causes harmonic distortion of the output signal. The method for harmonic cancellation based on adaptive filter is proposed. The task is accomplished by generating reference signals with frequency that should be eliminated from the output. The reference inputs are weighted by the adaptive filter in such a way that it closely matches the harmonic. The output of the adaptive filter is a harmonic replica and is injected to the fundamental signal such that the output harmonic is cancelled leaving the desired signal alone, and the total harmonic distortion (THD) is greatly reduced. The weights of filter are adjusted on-line according to the control error by using least-mean-square (LMS) algorithm. Simulation results performed with a hydraulic system demonstrate the efficiency and validity of the proposed adaptive feed-forward compensator (AFC) control scheme 展开更多

Optimization of multi-color laser waveform for high-order harmonic generation 被引量:1

With the development of laser technologies,multi-color light-field synthesis with complete amplitude and phase control would make it possible to generate arbitrary optical waveforms.A practical optimization algorithm is needed to generate such a waveform in order to control strong-field processes.We review some recent theoretical works of the optimization of amplitudes and phases of multi-color lasers to modify the single-atom high-order harmonic generation based on genetic algorithm.By choosing different fitness criteria,we demonstrate that:(i) harmonic yields can be enhanced by 10 to 100 times,(ii) harmonic cutoff energy can be substantially extended,(iii) specific harmonic orders can be selectively enhanced,and(iv) single attosecond pulses can be efficiently generated.The possibility of optimizing macroscopic conditions for the improved phase matching and low divergence of high harmonics is also discussed.The waveform control and optimization are expected to be new drivers for the next wave of breakthrough in the strong-field physics in the coming years. 展开更多

A ship is operated under an extremely complex environment, and waves and winds are assumed to be the stochastic excitations. Moreover, the propeller, host and mechanical equipment can also induce the harmonic responses. In order to reduce structural vibration, it is important to obtain the modal parameters information of a ship. However, the traditional modal parameter identification methods are not suitable since the excitation information is difficult to obtain. Natural excitation technique-eigensystem realization algorithm (NExT-ERA) is an operational modal identification method which abstracts modal parameters only from the response signals, and it is based on the assumption that the input to the structure is pure white noise. Hence, it is necessary to study the influence of harmonic excitations while applying the NExT-ERA method to a ship structure. The results of this research paper indicate the practical experiences under ambient excitation, ship model experiments were successfully done in the modal parameters identification only when the harmonic frequencies were not too close to the modal frequencies. 展开更多

Selective harmonic elimination(SHE) in multilevel inverters is an intricate optimization problem that involves a set of nonlinear transcendental equations which have multiple local minima. A new advanced objective function with proper weighting is proposed and also its efficiency is compared with the objective function which is more similar to the proposed one. To enhance the ability of the SHE in eliminating high number of selected harmonics, at each level of the output voltage, one slot is created. The SHE problem is solved by imperialist competitive algorithm(ICA). The conventional SHE methods cannot eliminate the selected harmonics and satisfy the fundamental component in some ranges of modulation indexes. So, to surmount the SHE defect, a DC-DC converter is applied. Theoretical results are substantiated by simulations and experimental results for a 9-level multilevel inverter. The obtained results illustrate that the proposed method successfully minimizes a large number of identified harmonics which consequences very low total harmonic distortion of output voltage. 展开更多

Purpose-Fuzzy-based metaheuristic algorithm is used to optimize the fuzzy controllers for the nonlinear level control system subject to uncertainty specially in the main actuator that has lost effectiveness(LOE).To optimize the fuzzy controller,type-1 harmonic search(HS)and interval type-2(HS)will be used.Design/methodology/approach-The type-1 and type-2 fuzzy-based HS algorithms are designed for optimization of fuzzy controllers for Fault-Tolerant Control(FTC)applications,and this research proposes a fuzzy-based HS metaheuristic method.The performance of a fuzzy logic-based HS algorithm applied to a nonlinear two-tank level control process with a main actuator that has lost effectiveness(LOE)and also the same controller will be tested on DC motor angular position control with and without noise.Findings-The key contribution of this work is the discovery of the best approach for generating an optimal vector of values for the fuzzy controller’s membership function optimization.This is done in order to improve the controller’s performance,bringing the process value of the two-tank level control process closer to the target process value(set point).It is worth noting that the type-1 fuzzy controller that has been optimized is an interval type-2 fuzzy system,which can handle more uncertainty than a type-1 fuzzy system.Originality/value-The type-1 and type-2 fuzzy-based HS algorithms are designed for optimization of fuzzy controllers for FTC applications,and this research proposes a fuzzy-based HS metaheuristic method.The performance of a fuzzy logic-based HS algorithm applied to a nonlinear two-tank level control process with a main actuator that has LOE will be tested on DC motor angular position control with noise.Two nonlinear uncertain processes are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme. 展开更多
