The giant magnetoresistance (GMR) in magnetic multilayers with current in the plane of the layers is studied by using the quantum-statistical Green's function approach, in which the effects of the interfacial roughness and magnetization configuration on the GMR are included. It is shown that the maximal GMR first increases and then decreases with increasing interfacial roughness, exhibiting a peak at an optimum value of interfacial roughness. An approximately linear dependence of GMR on is obtained, where is the angle between magnetizations of the two successive ferromagnetic layers. Furthermore, the maximal GMR is found to increase with increasing the number of bilayers. 展开更多

Top and bottom NiO-pinning spin valves of Si/Ta/NiO/Co/Cu/Co/Ta and Si/Ta/Co/Cu/Co/NiO/Ta were prepared by magnetron sputtering, and X-ray diffraction and giant magnetoresistance (GMR) ratio were measured in the temperature range from 5 to 300 K. For the bottom spin valve, the interracial roughness at NiO/Co is much smaller than that of Co/NiO in the top one. The Co/Cu and Cu/Co interfaces have the same roughness in the bottom and the top spin valves. NiO, Co, and Cu layers have (111) preferred orientations in the top one and random orientations in the bottom one. The GMR ratio of the bottom spin valve is larger than that of the top one at all temperatures and their difference increases with decreasing temperature. 展开更多

The surface morphology of Zn O films at different annealing temperatures and the performance of polymer solar cells(PSCs) with Zn O as the electron transport layer are studied. The low temperature sol-gel processed Zn O film has smoother surface than that in higher temperature, which results in the best photovoltaic performance with a power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 3.66% for P3HT:PC61BM based solar cell. With increasing annealing temperature, the photovoltaic performance first deceases and then increases. It could be ascribed to the synergy effects of interface area, the conductivity and surface energy of Zn O film and series resistance of devices. 展开更多
