Energy Spectrum of La3Lu2Ga3O12:Cr^3+ and Its Pressure-Induced R-Line-Shift Reversal

By means of both the theory for pressure-induced shifts (PS) of energy spectra and the theory for shifts of energy spectra due to electron-phonon interaction (EPI), the normal-pressure energy spectra of α andβ centers of Cr3+ions for LLGG:Cr3+ and the PS's of R1 lines and U band of these centers have been calculated at 10 K, respectively.The total calculated results are in very good agreement with the experimental data. For LLGG:Cr3+, the pressureinduced low-high crystal-field transition and the reversal of R1-line PS take place. The pressure-dependent variation of Relmix (2E- 4T2) [mixing-degree of |t22(3T1)e4T2) and |t322E) base-wavefunctions in the wavefunction of R1 state without EPI] plays a key role for the reversal of R1-line PS. The behavior of the pure electronic PS of R1 line is quite different from that of the PS of R1 line due to EPI. It is the combined effect of them that gives rise to the total PS of R1 line.The comparison between R1-line PS's of GSGG:Cr3+ and LLGG:Cr3+ has been made. It is found that a peak of R1-line PS appears at Relmix (2E - 4T2) ≈ 0.08. 展开更多

According to the geological and mining technical conditions of No.18128 sub- level caving face with suspend-shift support,the first working face of the working area,the distribution laws of abutment pressure were studied by jointly employing FIAC^(3D) numerical simulations and field tests.With the full consideration of these laws and the service time- limit of the mining district,the optimal location of the terminal mining line,should be 60 m away from the W4-B8 track dip,which was 20 m shorter than the 80 m distance deter- mined according to traditional experiences.The retained coal safety pillar for the protect- ing of dips,already proved by the industrial practice,can not only improve the rate of coal recovery and satisfy the subsequent service requirement for the following working faces, but also decrease the maintaining expenditure and thus increase profits. 展开更多

The relationship between ambient relative humidity H and the position shift of a spectral line was investigated both experimentally and theoretically.An echelle-based ICP emission spectrometer equipped with a CID detector was used for experimental verification of the derived model.The shift of a spectral line is quantitatively described by two defined spectral shift functions: Δλx(x,λ,H)(in the x direction of the CID detector) and Δλy(y,λ,H)(in the y direction of the CID detector).Experimental results indicate that Δλx(x,λ,H) does not change with a variation in ambient relative humidity, but Δλy(y,λ,H) does.A spectral shift equation,i.e.an empirical second-order polynomial equation,can be used to describe the relationship between Δλy(y,λ,H) and H.Based on the classical dipole model,classical mechanics and electrodynamics the empirical spectral-shift equation involving Δλy(y,λ,H) and H was theoretically deduced.The theoretical result is in good agreement with the experimental findings.The theoretical results indicate that the coefficients of the empirical spectral-shift equation are related to the basic physical parameters of materials and the geometric configuration of the echelle CID ICP-AES,and also provide physical meaning to the coefficients of the empirical shift equation obtained experimentally. 展开更多

The stabilizing and shifting of laser frequency are very important for the interaction between the laser and atoms. The modulation transfer spectroscopy for the87 Rb atom with D2 line transition F = 2 → F = 3 is used for stabilizing and shifting the frequency of the external cavity grating feedback diode laser. The resonant phase modulator with electro–optical effect is used to generate frequency sideband to lock the laser frequency. In the locking scheme, circularly polarized pump- and probe-beams are used. By optimizing the temperature of the vapor, the pump- and probe-beam intensity, the laser linewidth of 280 kHz is obtained. Furthermore, the magnetic field generated by a solenoid is added into the system. Therefore the system can achieve the frequency locking at any point in a range of hundreds of megahertz frequency shifting with very low power loss. 展开更多

Straight-line compliant mechanisms are important building blocks to design a linear-motion stage,which is very useful in precision applications.However,only a few configurations of straight-line compliant mechanisms are applicable.To construct more kinds of them,an approach to design large-displacement straight-line flexural mechanisms with rotational flexural joints is proposed,which is based on a viewpoint that the straight-line motion is regarded as a compromise of rigid and compliant parasitic motion of a rotational flexural joint.An analytical design method based on the Taylor series expansion is proposed to quickly obtain an approximate solution.To illustrate and verify the proposed method,two kinds of flexural joints,cross-axis hinge and leaf-type isosceles-trapezoidal flexural(LITF)pivot are used to reconstruct straight-line flexural mechanisms.Their performances are obtained by analytic and FEA method respectively.The comparisons of the results show the accuracy of the approach.Both examples show that the proposed approach can convert a large-deflection flexural joint into approximate straight-line mechanism with a high linearity that is higher than 5 000within 5 mm displacement.This can lead to a new way to design,analyze or optimize straight-line flexure mechanisms. 展开更多

The two line elements(TLEs),released by the North American Aerospace Defense Command(NORAD),are chosen for CubeSats' mission operators.Unfortunately,they have errors and other accompanied problems,which cause large deviations in the in-track component.When a TLE value is available at a certain epoch,the dominant error is the angular error.It is proposed to correct the angular error by solving-for the mean argument of latitude at the desired epoch.A batch least squares technique and range rate measurements are used for the correction process.With the assistance of satellite tool kit(STK)software and Matlab,a simulation to verify the orbit determination(OD)technique is implemented.This paper provides an angular correction low cost OD method and presents a complete analysis for various test cases.This approach maintains high accuracy in cross-track and radial and makes great improvement in in-track at the same time,but it is exclusive for circular orbits.When it is applied to an elliptical orbit,the error will be unacceptable.Therefore,the angular error is corrected using the longitude of periapsis which totally mitigates the error at the epoch under consideration.For inclinations less than 20 o,the mean longitude is preferred for the angular correction as it provides more accuracy compared with the mean argument of latitude. 展开更多

The influences of different buffer gas, neon and helium, on199Hg+clock transition are compared in trapped199Hg+linear trap. By the technique of time domain's Ramsey separated oscillatory fields, the buffer gas pressure frequency shifts of199Hg+clock transition are measured to be(d f /dPNe)(1/ f) = 1.8 × 10-8Torr-1for neon and(d f /dPHe)(1/ f) = 9.1 × 10-8Torr-1for helium. Meanwhile, the line-width of199Hg+clock transition spectrum with the buffer gas neon is narrower than that with helium at the same pressure. These experimental results show that neon is a more suitable buffer gas than helium in199Hg+ions microwave frequency standards because of the199Hg+clock transition is less sensitive to neon variations and the better cooling effect of neon. The optimum operating pressure for neon is found to be about 1.0 × 10-5Torr in our linear ion trap system. 展开更多

Doppler asymmetric spatial heterodyne spectroscopy(DASH)technique has developed rapidly in passive Doppler-shift measurements of atmospheric emission lines over the last decade.With the advantages of high phase shift sensitivity,compact,and rugged structure,DASH is proposed to be used for celestial autonomous navigation based on Doppler radial velocity measurement in this work.Unlike atmospheric emission lines,almost all targeted lines in the research field of deep-space exploration are the absorption lines of stars,so a mathematical model for the Doppler-shift measurements of absorption lines with a DASH interferometer is established.According to the analysis of the components of the interferogram received by the detector array,we find that the interferogram generated only by absorption lines in a passband can be extracted and processed by a method similar to the approach to studying the emission lines.In the end,numerical simulation experiments of Doppler-shift measurements of absorption lines are carried out.The simulation results show that the relative errors of the retrieved speeds are less than 0.7%under ideal conditions,proving the feasibility of measuring Doppler shifts of absorption lines by DASH instruments. 展开更多
