China is a major grain producing country, but thus far only a few studies have assessed the performance of GGCMs in China, and these studies mainly focused on the average and interannual variability of national and regional yields. Here, a systematic national-and provincial-scale evaluation of the simulations by13 GGCMs [12 from the GGCM Intercomparison(GGCMI) project, phase 1, and CLM5-crop] of the yields of four crops(wheat, maize, rice, and soybean) in China during 1980–2009 was carried out through comparison with crop yield statistics collected from the National Bureau of Statistics of China. Results showed that GGCMI models generally underestimate the national yield of rice but overestimate it for the other three crops, while CLM5-crop can reproduce the national yields of wheat, maize, and rice well. Most GGCMs struggle to simulate the spatial patterns of crop yields. In terms of temporal variability, GGCMI models generally fail to capture the observed significant increases, but some can skillfully simulate the interannual variability. Conversely, CLM5-crop can represent the increases in wheat, maize, and rice, but works less well in simulating the interannual variability. At least one model can skillfully reproduce the temporal variability of yields in the top-10 producing provinces in China, albeit with a few exceptions. This study, for the first time, provides a complete picture of GGCM performance in China, which is important for GGCM development and understanding the reliability and uncertainty of national-and provincial-scale crop yield prediction in China.展开更多

文摘We used the geological map and published rock density measurements to compile the digital rock density model for the Hong Kong territories. We then estimated the average density for the whole territory.According to our result, the rock density values in Hong Kong vary from 2101 to 2681 kg·m^(-3).These density values are typically smaller than the average density of 2670 kg·m^(-3),often adopted to represent the average density of the upper continental crust in physical geodesy and gravimetric geophysics applications. This finding reflects that the geological configuration in Hong Kong is mainly formed by light volcanic formations and lava flows with overlying sedimentary deposits at many locations, while the percentage of heavier metamorphic rocks is very low(less than 1%).This product will improve the accuracy of a detailed geoid model and orthometric heights.

文摘Understanding the anisotropic creep behaviors of shale under direct shearing is a challenging issue. In this context,we conducted shear-creep and steady-creep tests on shale with five bedding orientations (i.e.0°,30°,45°,60°,and 90°),under multiple levels of direct shearing for the first time. The results show that the anisotropic creep of shale exhibits a significant stress-dependent behavior.Under a low shear stress, the creep compliance of shale increases linearly with the logarithm of time at all bedding orientations, and the increase depends on the bedding orientation and creep time.Under high shear stress conditions, the creep compliance of shale is minimal when the bedding orientation is 0°,and the steady-creep rate of shale increases significantly with increasing bedding orientations of 30°,45°,60°,and 90°.The stress-strain values corresponding to the inception of the accelerated creep stage show an increasing and then decreasing trend with the bedding orientation.A semilogarithmic model that could reflect the stress dependence of the steady-creep rate while considering the hardening and damage process is proposed. The model minimizes the deviation of the calculated steady-state creep rate from the observed value and reveals the behavior of the bedding orientation's influence on the steady-creep rate. The applicability of the five classical empirical creep models is quantitatively evaluated. It shows that the logarithmic model can well explain the experimental creep strain and creep rate, and it can accurately predict long-term shear creep deformation.Based on an improved logarithmic model, the variations in creep parameters with shear stress and bedding orientations are discussed. With abovementioned findings,a mathematical method for constructing an anisotropic shear creep model of shale is proposed, which can characterize the nonlinear dependence of the anisotropic shear creep behavior of shale on the bedding orientation.

文摘Short-term(up to 30 days)predictions of Earth Rotation Parameters(ERPs)such as Polar Motion(PM:PMX and PMY)play an essential role in real-time applications related to high-precision reference frame conversion.Currently, least squares(LS)+auto-regressive(AR)hybrid method is one of the main techniques of PM prediction.Besides, the weighted LS+AR hybrid method performs well for PM short-term prediction. However, the corresponding covariance information of LS fitting residuals deserves further exploration in the AR model. In this study,we have derived a modified stochastic model for the LS+AR hybrid method, namely the weighted LS+weighted AR hybrid method.By using the PM data products of IERS EOP 14 C04,the numerical results indicate that for PM short-term forecasting, the proposed weighted LS+weighted AR hybrid method shows an advantage over both the LS+AR hybrid method and the weighted LS+AR hybrid method.Compared to the mean absolute errors(MAEs)of PMX/PMY sho rt-term prediction of the LS+AR hybrid method and the weighted LS+AR hybrid method, the weighted LS+weighted AR hybrid method shows average improvements of 6.61%/12.08%and 0.24%/11.65%,respectively.Besides,for the slopes of the linear regression lines fitted to the errors of each method, the growth of the prediction error of the proposed method is slower than that of the other two methods.

文摘In time-variant reliability problems, there are a lot of uncertain variables from different sources. Therefore,it is important to consider these uncertainties in engineering. In addition,time-variant reliability problems typically involve a complexmultilevel nested optimization problem, which can result in an enormous amount of computation. To this end, this paper studies the time-variant reliability evaluation of structures with stochastic and bounded uncertainties using a mixed probability and convex set model. In this method, the stochastic process of a limit-state function with mixed uncertain parameters is first discretized and then converted into a timeindependent reliability problem.Further,to solve the double nested optimization problem in hybrid reliability calculation,an efficient iterative scheme is designed in standard uncertainty space to determine the most probable point(MPP).The limit state function is linearized at these points, and an innovative random variable is defined to solve the equivalent static reliability analysis model. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by two benchmark numerical examples and a practical engineering problem.

文摘BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer(CRC)is a serious threat worldwide.Although early screening is suggested to be the most effective method to prevent and control CRC,the current situation of early screening for CRC is still not optimistic. In China, the incidence of CRC in the Yangtze River Delta region is increasing dramatically, but few studies have been conducted. Therefore,it is necessary to develop a simple and efficient early screening model for CRC.AIM To develop and validate an early-screening nomogram model to identify individuals at high risk of CRC.METHODS Data of 64448 participants obtained from Ningbo Hospital,China between 2014 and 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. The cohort comprised 64448 individuals,of which,530 were excluded due to missing or incorrect data.Of 63918,7607(11.9%)individuals were considered to be high risk for CRC,and 56311(88.1%)were not.The participants were randomly allocated to a training set(44743)or validation set(19175).The discriminatory ability, predictive accuracy, and clinical utility of the model were evaluated by constructing and analyzing receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves and calibration curves and by decision curve analysis. Finally, the model was validated internally using a bootstrap resampling technique.RESULTS Seven variables, including demographic, lifestyle, and family history information, were examined.Multifactorial logistic regression analysis revealed that age[odds ratio(OR):1.03,95%confidence interval(CI):1.02-1.03,P<0.001],body mass index(BMI)(OR:1.07,95%CI:1.06-1.08,P<0.001),waist circumference(WC)(OR:1.03,95%CI:1.02-1.03 P<0.001),lifestyle(OR:0.45,95%CI:0.42-0.48,P<0.001),and family history(OR:4.28,95%CI:4.04-4.54,P<0.001)were the most significant predictors of high-risk CRC.Healthy lifestyle was a protective factor, whereas family history was the most significant risk factor. The area under the curve was 0.734(95%CI:0.723-0.745)for the final validation set ROC curve and 0.735(95%CI:0.728-0.742)for the training set ROC curve. The calibration curve demonstrated a high correlation between the CRC high-risk population predicted by the nomogram model and the actual CRC high-risk population.CONCLUSION The early-screening nomogram model for CRC prediction in high-risk populations developed in this study based on age,BMI,WC,lifestyle, and family history exhibited high accuracy.

文摘The main objective of this paper is to investigate the influence of inertia of nonlinear springs on the dispersion behavior of discrete monoatomic chains with lumped and distributed masses. The developed model can represent the wave propagation problem in a non-homogeneous material consisting of heavy inclusions embedded in a matrix. The inclusions are idealized by lumped masses, and the matrix between adjacent inclusions is modeled by a nonlinear spring with distributed masses.Additionally, the model is capable of depicting the wave propagation in bi-material bars, wherein the first material is represented by a rigid particle and the second one is represented by a nonlinear spring with distributed masses. The discrete model of the nonlinear monoatomic chain with lumped and distributed masses is first considered, and a closed-form expression of the dispersion relation is obtained by the second-order Lindstedt-Poincare method(LPM).Next,a continuum model for the nonlinear monoatomic chain is derived directly from its discrete lattice model by a suitable continualization technique. The subsequent use of the second-order method of multiple scales(MMS)facilitates the derivation of the corresponding nonlinear dispersion relation in a closed form. The novelties of the present study consist of(i)considering the inertia of nonlinear springs on the dispersion behavior of the discrete mass-spring chains;(ii)developing the second-order LPM for the wave propagation in the discrete chains;and(iii)deriving a continuum model for the nonlinear monoatomic chains with lumped and distributed masses. Finally,a parametric study is conducted to examine the effects of the design parameters and the distributed spring mass on the nonlinear dispersion relations and phase velocities obtained from both the discrete and continuum models. These parameters include the ratio of the spring mass to the lumped mass, the nonlinear stiffness coefficient of the spring, and the wave amplitude.

文摘A multiphase field model coupled with a lattice Boltzmann(PF-LBM)model is proposed to simulate the distribution mechanism of bubbles and solutes at the solid-liquid interface, the interaction between dendrites and bubbles, and the effects of different temperatures, anisotropic strengths and tilting angles on the solidified organization of the SCN-0.24wt.%butanedinitrile alloy during the solidification process. The model adopts a multiphase field model to simulate the growth of dendrites, calculates the growth motions of dendrites based on the interfacial solute equilibrium;and adopts a lattice Boltzmann model(LBM)based on the Shan-Chen multiphase flow to simulate the growth and motions of bubbles in the liquid phase, which includes the interaction between solid-liquid-gas phases. The simulation results show that during the directional growth of columnar dendrites, bubbles first precipitate out slowly at the very bottom of the dendrites, and then rise up due to the different solid-liquid densities and pressure differences. The bubbles will interact with the dendrite in the process of flow migration, such as extrusion, overflow, fusion and disappearance. In the case of wide gaps in the dendrite channels, bubbles will fuse to form larger irregular bubbles, and in the case of dense channels, bubbles will deform due to the extrusion of dendrites. In the simulated region,as the dendrites converge and diverge, the bubbles precipitate out of the dendrites by compression and diffusion, which also causes physical phenomena such as fusion and spillage of the bubbles. These results reveal the physical mechanisms of bubble nucleation, growth and kinematic evolution during solidification and interaction with dendrite growth.
文摘Eddy current dampers (ECDs) have emerged as highly desirable solutions for vibration control due to theirexceptional damping performance and durability. However, the existing constitutive models present challenges tothe widespread implementation of ECD technology, and there is limited availability of finite element analysis (FEA)software capable of accurately modeling the behavior of ECDs. This study addresses these issues by developing anewconstitutivemodel that is both easily understandable and user-friendly for FEAsoftware. By utilizing numericalresults obtained from electromagnetic FEA, a novel power law constitutive model is proposed to capture thenonlinear behavior of ECDs. The effectiveness of the power law constitutive model is validated throughmechanicalproperty tests and numerical seismic analysis. Furthermore, a detailed description of the application process ofthe power law constitutive model in ANSYS FEA software is provided. To facilitate the preliminary design ofECDs, an analytical derivation of energy dissipation and parameter optimization for ECDs under harmonicmotionis performed. The results demonstrate that the power law constitutive model serves as a viable alternative forconducting dynamic analysis using FEA and optimizing parameters for ECDs.

文摘The surrounding geological conditions and supporting structures of underground engineering are often updated during construction, and these updates require repeated numerical modeling. To improve the numerical modeling efficiency of underground engineering,a modularized and parametric modeling cloud server is developed by using Python codes. The basic framework of the cloud server is as follows:input the modeling parameters into the web platform, implement Rhino software and FLAC3D software to model and run simulations in the cloud server, and return the simulation results to the web platform. The modeling program can automatically generate instructions that can run the modeling process in Rhino based on the input modeling parameters. The main modules of the modeling program include modeling the 3D geological structures, the underground engineering structures, and the supporting structures as well as meshing the geometric models. In particular, various cross-sections of underground caverns are crafted as parametricmodules in themodeling program.Themodularized and parametric modeling program is used for a finite element simulation of the underground powerhouse of the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station. This complicatedmodel is rapidly generated for the simulation, and the simulation results are reasonable. Thus, this modularized and parametric modeling program is applicable for three-dimensional finite element simulations and analyses.

文摘Multiphase flow in low permeability porous media is involved in numerous energy and environmental applications. However,a complete description of this process is challenging due to the limited modeling scale and the effects of complex pore structures and wettability. To address this issue, based on the digital rock of low permeability sandstone,a direct numerical simulation is performed considering the interphase drag and boundary slip to clarify the microscopic water-oil displacement process. In addition,a dual-porosity pore network model(PNM)is constructed to obtain the water-oil relative permeability of the sample. The displacement efficiency as a recovery process is assessed under different wetting and pore structure properties. Results show that microscopic displacement mechanisms explain the corresponding macroscopic relative permeability. The injected water breaks through the outlet earlier with a large mass flow, while thick oil films exist in rough hydrophobic surfaces and poorly connected pores. The variation of water-oil relative permeability is significant, and residual oil saturation is high in the oil-wet system. The flooding is extensive, and the residual oil is trapped in complex pore networks for hydrophilic pore surfaces;thus, water relative permeability is lower in the water-wet system. While the displacement efficiency is the worst in mixed-wetting systems for poor water connectivity.Microporosity negatively correlates with invading oil volume fraction due to strong capillary resistance, and a large microporosity corresponds to low residual oil saturation. This work provides insights into the water-oil flow from different modeling perspectives and helps to optimize the development plan for enhanced recovery.

文摘Concrete slabs are widely used in modern railways to increase the inherent resilient quality of the tracks, provide safe and smooth rides, and reduce the maintenance frequency. In this paper, the elastic performance of a novel slab trackform for high-speed railways is investigated using three-dimensional finite element modelling in Abaqus. It is then compared to the performance of a ballasted track.First, slab and ballasted track models are developed to replicate the full-scale testing of track sections.Once the models are calibrated with the experimental results, the novel slab model is developed and compared against the calibrated slab track results. The slab and ballasted track models are then extended to create linear dynamic models, considering the track geodynamics, and simulating train passages at various speeds, for which the Ledsgard documented case was used to validate the models.Trains travelling at low and high speeds are analysed to investigate the track deflections and the wave propagation in the soil, considering the issues associated with critical speeds.Various train loading methods are discussed, and the most practical approach is retained and described. Moreover, correlations are made between the geotechnical parameters of modern high-speed rail and conventional standards. It is found that considering the same ground condition, the slab track deflections are considerably smaller than those of the ballasted track at high speeds, while they show similar behaviour at low speeds.

文摘Global gridded crop models(GGCMs) have been broadly applied to assess the impacts of climate and environmental change and adaptation on agricultural production. This study, for the first time, provides a complete picture of GGCM performance in China, which is important for GGCM development and understanding the reliability and uncertainty of national-and provincial-scale crop yield prediction in China.
文摘Sentence classification is the process of categorizing a sentence based on the context of the sentence.Sentence categorization requires more semantic highlights than other tasks, such as dependence parsing, which requires more syntactic elements. Most existing strategies focus on the general semantics of a conversation without involving the context of the sentence, recognizing the progress and comparing impacts. An ensemble pre-trained language model was taken up here to classify the conversation sentences from the conversation corpus. The conversational sentences are classified into four categories:information, question, directive, and commission. These classification label sequences are for analyzing the conversation progress and predicting the pecking order of the conversation.Ensemble of Bidirectional Encoder for Representation of Transformer(BERT),Robustly Optimized BERT pretraining Approach(RoBERTa),Generative Pre-Trained Transformer(GPT),DistilBERT and Generalized Autoregressive Pretraining for Language Understanding(XLNet)models are trained on conversation corpus with hyperparameters.Hyperparameter tuning approach is carried out for better performance on sentence classification. This Ensemble of Pre-trained Language Models with a Hyperparameter Tuning(EPLM-HT)system is trained on an annotated conversation dataset. The proposed approach outperformed compared to the base BERT,GPT,DistilBERT and XLNet transformer models. The proposed ensemble model with the fine-tuned parameters achieved an F1_score of 0.88.

文摘Amid urbanization and the continuous expansion of transportation networks, the necessity for tunnel construction and maintenance has become paramount.Addressing this need requires the investigation of efficient, economical, and robust tunnel reinforcement techniques. This paper explores fiber reinforced polymer(FRP)and steel fiber reinforced concrete(SFRC)technologies, which have emerged as viable solutions for enhancing tunnel structures.FRP is celebrated for its lightweight and high-strength attributes, effectively augmenting load-bearing capacity and seismic resistance, while SFRC’s notable crack resistance and longevity potentially enhance the performance of tunnel segments.Nonetheless, current research predominantly focuses on experimental analysis, lacking comprehensive theoretical models. To bridge this gap,the cohesive zone model(CZM),which utilizes cohesive elements to characterize the potential fracture surfaces of concrete/SFRC,the rebar-concrete interface, and the FRP-concrete interface, was employed.A modeling approach was subsequently proposed to construct a tunnel segment model reinforced with either SFRC or FRP.Moreover, the corresponding mixed-mode constitutive models, considering interfacial friction, were integrated into the proposed model.Experimental validation and numerical simulations corroborated the accuracy of the proposed model.Additionally, this study examined the reinforcement design of tunnel segments.Through a numerical evaluation, the effectiveness of innovative reinforcement schemes, such as substituting concrete with SFRC and externally bonding FRP sheets, was assessed utilizing a case study from the Fuzhou Metro Shield Tunnel Construction Project.
文摘The modified cosmology like quintessence model with kination phase predicted the Hubble expansion rate of the universe before Big Bang Nucleosynthesis is different from the standard cosmological scenario. The modified expansion rate leaves its imprint on the relic density of asymmetric dark matter. In this work, we review the calculation of relic density of asymmetric WIMP dark matter in the standard cosmological scenario and quintessence model with kination phase. Then we use the Planck data to find constraints on the annihilation cross section and the mass of the asymmetric dark matter in those models.
