Multiple emulsions are of great therapeutic interest especially in the administration of medicines which can be inactivated by digestive enzymes;moreover the researches of formulation not being often easy, a control of the different phases physicochemical parameters would be of great interest in rapid formulations and at low cost. When formulating emulsions, the preliminary tests, also known as formulation tests, constitute a step which can be long and expensive because of the quantity of reagents that can be used. A rigorous methodology could thus be of great interest, which is at the aim of our study which consists of evaluating the physico-chemical parameters of different phases used to make thus multiple emulsions. In our study, physico-chemical parameters such as conductivity, pH, density, viscosity, and surface tension have been studied by direct measurement using equipment and also by means of suitable mounting. The results showed that the pH and the surface tension have an important role in the prediction of the stability of emulsions, these latter must be of the same order of magnitude. For all phases conductivity does not have too much interest apart from helping to determine the type of the emulsion. 展开更多

To solve the greasiness and irritation risks brought about by organic sun-screening agents in sunscreen emulsions,in this work,a sunscreen O/W/Si multiple emulsion was prepared by two-step emulsification method,in which the outer oil phase was silicone oil and the inner oil phase was solid lipid nanoparticles coated with organic sun-screening agent.Several influencing factors on the formation and stability of the emulsion were analyzed, including inorganic salts, the volume fraction of outer oil phase(silicone oil),and the dosage of W/O emulsifier. The in vitro sunscreen performance, water resistance and skin permeability of different types of sunscreen emulsions were further studied. The results showed that the sunscreen O/W/Si multiple emulsion containing 22.5%silicone oil,2.5%emulsifier and 0.2%NaCl had the best stability under the experimental conditions. The SPF value and water resistance of sunscreen O/W/Si multiple emulsion were slightly higher than those of sunscreen W/O emulsion, but significantly higher than those of sunscreen O/W emulsion.Compared with sunscreen W/O emulsion, the in vitro transdermal permeability of organic sun-screening agent in sunscreen O/W/Si multiple emulsion was reduced by approximately 60%,indicative of higher safety and good application prospect in sunscreen cosmetics. 展开更多

Novel core-shell hydroxyapatite/chitosan biocomposite nanospheres were synthesized in a multiple emulsion. The multiple emulsion was a w/o/w emulsion, made of diammonium phosphate solution as an inner aqueous phase, cyclohexane as an oil phase, and calcium nitrate solution and chitosan solution as an outer aqueous. The forming mechanism of core-shell spheres and the influence of temperature on the morphology of the nanospheres were investigated. The diameter of the resulting core-shell nanospheres was 100-200 nm and the thickness of the chitosan shell was about 10 nm. And it concluded that at different reaction temperature the morphologies of the products would be changed. The core-shell nanospheres have potential applications for the development of new biomedical materials. 展开更多

This work presents the basic characteristics of singly, doubly and heavily charged projectile fragments(PFs) emitted in inelastic interactions of ^(32)S ions with photo-emulsion nuclei at Dubna energy(3.7 A GeV).... This work presents the basic characteristics of singly, doubly and heavily charged projectile fragments(PFs) emitted in inelastic interactions of ^(32)S ions with photo-emulsion nuclei at Dubna energy(3.7 A GeV).Our experimental data are compared with the corresponding data for other projectiles at the same incident energy. The study of mean multiplicities of different charged PFs against the projectile mass shows a power-law relationship. The multiplicity distributions of singly and doubly charged PFs have been fitted well with a Gaussian distribution function. The yields of PFs broken up from the interactions of ^(32)S projectile nuclei with different target nuclei are studied. The beam energy dependence in terms of the various order moments is studied as well. 展开更多
