With the OLR data, the landfall and activity of tropical cyclones (TC) in southern China over a 20-year period (1975~1994) are studied. The result shows that the variation of the monthly anomalous OLR is somewhat teleconnected with the TC activity in southern China. The former is used to predict short-term climate for the latter over months with frequent or no TC influence. To some extent, the relationship between the TC activity in southern China and the monthly mean OLR anomalies is dependent on the climatological location of the subtropical high in northwestern Pacific region. 展开更多

[Objective] The aim is to investigate the impact of different host plants, planting methods and directions on the damage law of Asterococcus muratae. [Method] The quantity of pests, size of female pests and quantity of ova of A. mu-ratae in Suzhou in different host plants under two planting methods and in four di-rections of a host plant were measured. [Result] A. muratae exhibits selectivity to host plants, and their quantity, female pest size and reproductive capacity are higher in Magnolia grandiflora(southern magnolia) than in other plants. The four directions of the host plant suffer to different extents, and the north part is usual y the most in-jured. Mass-planted southern magnolias are more seriously impacted than individual y-planted ones. Both size and weight of a female pest have significant linear relations with ovum quantity, and the weight of a female pest is more closely related to its ovum quantity. Based on the weight of a female pest, we can predict the exact ovum quantity according to the equation y=2E-05x+0.003 7. [Conclusion] The research re-sults provide reference for making an effective control plan for A. muratae. 展开更多

Experimental study on f-ω regulation model under abnormal methane emission

In view of the difficulty of automatic adjustment, the recovery lag and the major accident potential of the mine ventilation system, an experimental model of the pipe net was established according to the typical one mine and one working face ventilation system of Daliuta coal mine. Using the best uniform approximation method of Chebyshev interpolation to fit the fan performance curve, we experimentally determined fan characteristics with different frequencies and establish the data base for the curves. Based on ventilation network monitoring theory, we designed a monitoring system for ventilation network parameter monitoring and fan operating frequency automatic control. Using the absolute methane emission quantity to predict the air quantity requirement of branch and fan frequency, we established a f-ω regulation model based on fan frequency and absolute methane emission quantity. After analysing methane emission and distribution characteristics, using CO_2 to simulate the methane emission characteristics from a working face, we verified the correctness and rationality of the f-ω regulation model. The fan operation frequency is adjusted by the method of air adjustment change with methane emission quantity and the curve searching method after determining air quantity requirements. The results show that the air quantity in a branch strictly changes according to the f-ω regulation model, in the airincreasing dilution by fan frequency regulation, the CO_2 concentration is limited to the set threshold value. The paper verifies the practicability of a frequency regulation system and the feasibility of the frequency adjustment scheme and provides guidance for the construction of automatic frequency conversion control system in coal mine ventilation networks. 展开更多
