The application of air cavities on the underside of ship hulls is a promising means for reducing hydrodynamic drag and pollutant emissions and increasing marine transportation efficiency. Despite this concept's potential, design optimization and high-performance operation of novel air-cavity ships remain a challenging problem. Hull construction and sensor instrumentation of the model-scale air-cavity boat is described in the paper. The modular structure of the hull allows for easy modifications, and an electric propulsion unit enables self-propelled operation. The boat is controlled remotely via a radio transmission system. Results of initial tests are reported, including thrust, speed, and airflow rate in several loading conditions. The constructed platform can be used for optimizing air-cavity systems and testing other innovative hull designs. This system can be also developed into a high-performance unmanned boat.展开更多

This control system has its compacted configuration and reliability. The energy consumption of a teaching building can be effectively reduced by timetable optimization.However,in most studies that explore methods to reduce building energy consumption by course timetable optimization,se...The energy consumption of a teaching building can be effectively reduced by timetable optimization.However,in most studies that explore methods to reduce building energy consumption by course timetable optimization,self-study activities are not considered.In this study,an MATLAB-EnergyPlus joint simulation model was constructed based on the Building Controls Virtual Test Bed platform to reduce building energy consumption by optimizing the course schedule and opening strategy of self-study rooms in a holistic way.The following results were obtained by taking a university in Xi’an as an example:(1)The energy saving percentages obtained by timetabling optimization during the heating season examination week,heating season non-examination week,cooling season examination week,and cooling season non-examination week are 35%,29.4%,13.4%,and 13.4%,respectively.(2)Regarding the temporal arrangement,most courses are scheduled in the morning during the cooling season and afternoon during the heating season.Regarding the spatial arrangement,most courses are arranged in the central section of the middle floors of the building.(3)During the heating season,the additional building energy consumption incurred by the opening of self-study rooms decreases when duty heating temperature increases.展开更多
The energy saving of hydraulic excavators is always an essential research.An energy recovery system can effectively recover the boom potential energy and rotational kinetic energy.Based on the standard working cycle o...The energy saving of hydraulic excavators is always an essential research.An energy recovery system can effectively recover the boom potential energy and rotational kinetic energy.Based on the standard working cycle of hydraulic excavators,a dynamic programming(DP)control strategy for hybrid hydraulic excavators was proposed to recover the boom potential energy and rotational kinetic energy.The hybrid hydraulic excavator simulation model was built by Simulink software.The simulation results indicated that the fuel consumption of hybrid hydraulic excavators using the DP control strategy was about 21.3%lower than that of the conventional hydraulic excavator.In order to experimentally verify the simulation results,an experimental platform for hybrid hydraulic excavators was built.The experimental results indicated that the fuel consumption of hybrid hydraulic excavators using the DP control strategy was about 18.9%lower than that of the conventional hydraulic excavator.This paper shows that the DP control strategy applied to hybrid hydraulic excavators can recycle the boom potential energy and rotational kinetic energy,and reduce the fuel consumption of hybrid hydraulic excavators.展开更多
The real-time transient stability detection and emergency control technology based on wide area response has become a hot research area in power system stability studies.Several different technologies have been propos...The real-time transient stability detection and emergency control technology based on wide area response has become a hot research area in power system stability studies.Several different technologies have been proposed,but lots of problems remain to be solved before they can be applied in practice.A wide area measurement system(WAMS)based test platform is developed for transient stability detection and control.The design as well as main function modules of the platform are introduced.In addition,three generator power angle prediction methods and six response based transient instability detection technologies are given.Results of engineering application demonstrate that the developed test platform can provide a real-time operation environment,which can effectively compare and analyze the validity and practicability of these transient stability detection technologies.Based on the measured perturbed trajectories from actual power systems or the Real-Time Digital Simulators(RTDS),the platform can realize the assessment and visual result presentation of various responses from different transient instability detection technologies.The test platform can be applied to different power systems and it is convenient to embed new transient instability detection modules.Meanwhile some deficiencies and shortcomings in engineering application are pointed out and corresponding suggestions are given.In conclusion,the hardware and software structure,function modulus and engineering applications are presented.The application in actual power systems shows that it has a good application perspective.展开更多

The time resolution of the MRPC module used is tested to be -80 ps, and the position resolution along the strip is -5 mm, while the position resolution perpendicular to the strip is -12.7 ram. The platform constructed by four MRPC modules can be used for tracking cosmic rays with a spatial resolution of -6.3 mm, and provide a reference time -40 ps.展开更多
As a new type of crop protection machine,the crop protection unmanned aerial system(CPUAS)is developing rapidly in China.The wind field generated by the rotor has a great influence on the deposition and penetration of...As a new type of crop protection machine,the crop protection unmanned aerial system(CPUAS)is developing rapidly in China.The wind field generated by the rotor has a great influence on the deposition and penetration of spraying droplets.The purpose of this study was to develop a reliable and stable test platform that could be used for wind field test of CPUAS,and to carry out the downwash experiments on the platform to obtain the downwash distribution law of a CPUAS Z-3N(100 kg level,Nanjing Research Institute on Simulation Technique,Nanjing,China).The tests showed that the performances of the developed platform could meet the expected design requirements.The platform operated stably and reliably during the downwash experiments of Z-3N,which indicated it could be applied for CPUASs of 100 kg level and below.The vibration characteristics of the platform with different heights(2.0 m,3.0 m,5.0 m,7.0 m,10.0 m)were obtained through modal analysis,which could effectively guide avoiding the resonance for stable and reliable operation during the experiments with the tested CPUAS Z-3N.A ring-radial method was designed combined with the platform for the downwash measurement.The experimental results showed that the downwash distribution of Z-3N was not symmetrical;the downwash wind speed decreased with the increase of the radial distance while the changing trend was not consistent as the height increased.Moreover,the area with high wind speed was mainly within 3.0 m of the radial distance,and the maximum value was 11.37 m/s.The study provided a new way for wind field test of CPUASs and would provide some references for better utilization of wind field during the CPUAS spraying.展开更多
High-speed railway aerodynamics is the key basic science for solving the bottleneck problem of high-speed railway development.This paper systematically summarizes the aerodynamic research relating to China’s high-spe...High-speed railway aerodynamics is the key basic science for solving the bottleneck problem of high-speed railway development.This paper systematically summarizes the aerodynamic research relating to China’s high-speed railway network.Seven key research advances are comprehensively discussed,including train aerodynamic drag-reduction technology,train aerodynamic noise-reduction technology,train ventilation technology,train crossing aerodynamics,train/tunnel aerodynamics,train/climate environment aerodynamics,and train/human body aerodynamics.Seven types of railway aerodynamic test platform built by Central South University are introduced.Five major systems for a high-speed railway network—the aerodynamics theoretical system,the aerodynamic shape(train,tunnel,and so on)design system,the aerodynamics evaluation system,the 3D protection system for operational safety of the high-speed railway network,and the high-speed railway aerodynamic test/computation/analysis platform system—are also introduced.Finally,eight future development directions for the field of railway aerodynamics are proposed.For over 30 years,railway aerodynamics has been an important supporting element in the development of China’s high-speed railway network,which has also promoted the development of high-speed railway aerodynamics throughout the world.展开更多
To meet the requirement of the precision direct-seeding for hybrid rice,this study aimed to design a hill-drop pneumatic central cylinder direct-seeding machine to sow ten rows at a time.A series of orthogonal experim...To meet the requirement of the precision direct-seeding for hybrid rice,this study aimed to design a hill-drop pneumatic central cylinder direct-seeding machine to sow ten rows at a time.A series of orthogonal experiments were conducted to investigate the performance of the cylinder seeder.The influences of the hole diameters,degree of vacuum,and rotational speed of the cylinder were tested on JPS-12 computer-vision seeding test platform,and the rotational speed of 10-50 r/min,diameter of 135 mm and a negative pressure of 1.0-2.0 kPa were employed.Test results showed that the optimal parameter combination was a vacuum of 2.0 kPa and a hole diameter of 2.0 mm(straight hole),with a rotational speed of 30 r/min.The probability of(2±1)seeds in each hole was 95.3%,while the probability of seed-missing hole was 2.0%.A series of field experiments were then conducted to test the seeder performance according to China National Standard Test Methods,and the field test results showed that for the hill-drop pneumatic central cylinder direct-seeding machine,the probability of(2±1)seeds in each hill was 91.6%,while the probability of seed-missing hill was 2.7%.The yield data showed that the average effective panicle had 231.25 ears,the average seed setting rate was 9.92%,the average 1000-grain weight was 22.45 g,and the average yield was 7107.9 kg/hm^(2) that was 26.14%higher than the average yield of rice(5634.9 kg/hm^(2))of Guangdong Province in 2016.The results showed that the hill-drop pneumatic central cylinder direct-seeding machine for hybrid rice could be applied in practical precision rice seeding.展开更多
A compressor test platform was designed in the purpose of easy assembly and cost-saving tests.New design concepts were firstly used on the test platform and iterative revisions were conducted to verify the effects,whi...A compressor test platform was designed in the purpose of easy assembly and cost-saving tests.New design concepts were firstly used on the test platform and iterative revisions were conducted to verify the effects,which decrease the risk of applying to the full annulus directly.The platform was a sector cascade that can be inserted into an otherwise full stator annulus,with a set of exchangeable endwall casing and blades manufactured by 3-D printing.The platform can create an operating condition which is closer to engine-realistic flow conditions than traditional cascade tests.The flow field of the prototype stator was tested in detail at the operating point and showed some flow defects in the tip region,and then three design plans were conducted to experimentally investigate which design concept could improve the blade tip flow.The concept of casing endwall profiling was the most effective one which markedly depressed the separation of the tip region and decreased the total pressure loss coefficient.The test results show that the design of the test platform was successful and promising,which could be used to conduct more researches on the flow mechanism of the middle stage.展开更多

文摘The real-time transient stability detection and emergency control technology based on wide area response has become a hot research area in power system stability studies.Several different technologies have been proposed,but lots of problems remain to be solved before they can be applied in practice.A wide area measurement system(WAMS)based test platform is developed for transient stability detection and control.The design as well as main function modules of the platform are introduced.In addition,three generator power angle prediction methods and six response based transient instability detection technologies are given.Results of engineering application demonstrate that the developed test platform can provide a real-time operation environment,which can effectively compare and analyze the validity and practicability of these transient stability detection technologies.Based on the measured perturbed trajectories from actual power systems or the Real-Time Digital Simulators(RTDS),the platform can realize the assessment and visual result presentation of various responses from different transient instability detection technologies.The test platform can be applied to different power systems and it is convenient to embed new transient instability detection modules.Meanwhile some deficiencies and shortcomings in engineering application are pointed out and corresponding suggestions are given.In conclusion,the hardware and software structure,function modulus and engineering applications are presented.The application in actual power systems shows that it has a good application perspective.

文摘In order to test the performance of detector prototypes in a laboratory environment, we design and build a large area (90 crux52 cm) test platform for cosmic rays based on a well-designed Multi-gap Resistive Plate Chamber (MRPC) with excellent time resolution and a high detection efficiency for minimum ionizing particles. The time resolution of the MRPC module used is tested to be -80 ps, and the position resolution along the strip is -5 mm, while the position resolution perpendicular to the strip is -12.7 ram. The platform constructed by four MRPC modules can be used for tracking cosmic rays with a spatial resolution of -6.3 mm, and provide a reference time -40 ps.

文摘As a new type of crop protection machine,the crop protection unmanned aerial system(CPUAS)is developing rapidly in China.The wind field generated by the rotor has a great influence on the deposition and penetration of spraying droplets.The purpose of this study was to develop a reliable and stable test platform that could be used for wind field test of CPUAS,and to carry out the downwash experiments on the platform to obtain the downwash distribution law of a CPUAS Z-3N(100 kg level,Nanjing Research Institute on Simulation Technique,Nanjing,China).The tests showed that the performances of the developed platform could meet the expected design requirements.The platform operated stably and reliably during the downwash experiments of Z-3N,which indicated it could be applied for CPUASs of 100 kg level and below.The vibration characteristics of the platform with different heights(2.0 m,3.0 m,5.0 m,7.0 m,10.0 m)were obtained through modal analysis,which could effectively guide avoiding the resonance for stable and reliable operation during the experiments with the tested CPUAS Z-3N.A ring-radial method was designed combined with the platform for the downwash measurement.The experimental results showed that the downwash distribution of Z-3N was not symmetrical;the downwash wind speed decreased with the increase of the radial distance while the changing trend was not consistent as the height increased.Moreover,the area with high wind speed was mainly within 3.0 m of the radial distance,and the maximum value was 11.37 m/s.The study provided a new way for wind field test of CPUASs and would provide some references for better utilization of wind field during the CPUAS spraying.
文摘High-speed railway aerodynamics is the key basic science for solving the bottleneck problem of high-speed railway development.This paper systematically summarizes the aerodynamic research relating to China’s high-speed railway network.Seven key research advances are comprehensively discussed,including train aerodynamic drag-reduction technology,train aerodynamic noise-reduction technology,train ventilation technology,train crossing aerodynamics,train/tunnel aerodynamics,train/climate environment aerodynamics,and train/human body aerodynamics.Seven types of railway aerodynamic test platform built by Central South University are introduced.Five major systems for a high-speed railway network—the aerodynamics theoretical system,the aerodynamic shape(train,tunnel,and so on)design system,the aerodynamics evaluation system,the 3D protection system for operational safety of the high-speed railway network,and the high-speed railway aerodynamic test/computation/analysis platform system—are also introduced.Finally,eight future development directions for the field of railway aerodynamics are proposed.For over 30 years,railway aerodynamics has been an important supporting element in the development of China’s high-speed railway network,which has also promoted the development of high-speed railway aerodynamics throughout the world.

文摘To meet the requirement of the precision direct-seeding for hybrid rice,this study aimed to design a hill-drop pneumatic central cylinder direct-seeding machine to sow ten rows at a time.A series of orthogonal experiments were conducted to investigate the performance of the cylinder seeder.The influences of the hole diameters,degree of vacuum,and rotational speed of the cylinder were tested on JPS-12 computer-vision seeding test platform,and the rotational speed of 10-50 r/min,diameter of 135 mm and a negative pressure of 1.0-2.0 kPa were employed.Test results showed that the optimal parameter combination was a vacuum of 2.0 kPa and a hole diameter of 2.0 mm(straight hole),with a rotational speed of 30 r/min.The probability of(2±1)seeds in each hole was 95.3%,while the probability of seed-missing hole was 2.0%.A series of field experiments were then conducted to test the seeder performance according to China National Standard Test Methods,and the field test results showed that for the hill-drop pneumatic central cylinder direct-seeding machine,the probability of(2±1)seeds in each hill was 91.6%,while the probability of seed-missing hill was 2.7%.The yield data showed that the average effective panicle had 231.25 ears,the average seed setting rate was 9.92%,the average 1000-grain weight was 22.45 g,and the average yield was 7107.9 kg/hm^(2) that was 26.14%higher than the average yield of rice(5634.9 kg/hm^(2))of Guangdong Province in 2016.The results showed that the hill-drop pneumatic central cylinder direct-seeding machine for hybrid rice could be applied in practical precision rice seeding.

文摘A compressor test platform was designed in the purpose of easy assembly and cost-saving tests.New design concepts were firstly used on the test platform and iterative revisions were conducted to verify the effects,which decrease the risk of applying to the full annulus directly.The platform was a sector cascade that can be inserted into an otherwise full stator annulus,with a set of exchangeable endwall casing and blades manufactured by 3-D printing.The platform can create an operating condition which is closer to engine-realistic flow conditions than traditional cascade tests.The flow field of the prototype stator was tested in detail at the operating point and showed some flow defects in the tip region,and then three design plans were conducted to experimentally investigate which design concept could improve the blade tip flow.The concept of casing endwall profiling was the most effective one which markedly depressed the separation of the tip region and decreased the total pressure loss coefficient.The test results show that the design of the test platform was successful and promising,which could be used to conduct more researches on the flow mechanism of the middle stage.
