The rubber-containing waste materials have been widely used to improve the engineering properties of soils in recent years.Among others,granular rubbers are utilized in various ways to increase the bearing capacity an...The rubber-containing waste materials have been widely used to improve the engineering properties of soils in recent years.Among others,granular rubbers are utilized in various ways to increase the bearing capacity and shear strength and to reduce the settlement and liquefaction potential of soils.The granular rubbers have many advantages such as temperature resistance,flexibility,tear-resistance,non-slip,and thermal and electrical insulation.This study presents the distribution characteristics of five different types of clayey soils with different engineering properties containing waste rubber particles(WRPs).On the other hand,determining and controlling the dispersion characteristics of clayey soils is two significant engineering problems.The study aims to solve these two remarkable and problematic issues in an eco-friendly and safe way.The role of WRP treatment in the investigation of soil dispersion behavior,which can cause dangerous problems such as piping,erosion,and dispersion,reflects the original and different perspectives of this study.Within this scope,geotechnical parameters of the clayey soils were determined.Subsequently,pinhole test,crumb test,double hydrometer test,and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)analysis were performed on the Na-activated bentonite,refined ball clay,Ukrainian kaolin,Avanos kaolin,and Afyon clay samples with different percentages of WRPs(0%,5%,10%,and 15%).Consequently,Avanos and Ukrainian kaolin clays gave the most limited response to the dispersion behavior with the addition of WRP.Also,WRP treatment on the ball clay and bentonite samples showed limited efficiency.Afyon clay,which was defined as dispersive by the three tests that determined its dispersion potential,showed 3 level changes in the pinhole tests and 2 level changes in the crumb tests,and gave the most effective results in terms of WRP efficiency.展开更多

In the present work, hydraulic concrete plates added with waste tire rubber were manufactured to modify their sound absorption capacity. It was found that the rubber additions produce changes in the density of the material and in the sound absorption capacity. When the material is exposed to high-frequency sounds that correspond to high-pitched sounds, its absorption capacity increases. On the contrary, when the test frequency is low, that is, bass sounds, the sound absorption capacity decreases. The results obtained in this work suggest that the proposed mixtures are suitable for the possible manufacture of acoustic insulating shields.展开更多

Diffusion of components of asphalt into waste rubber is of vital importance to improve the performance of rubber modified asphalt,while the related researches are scarce. Diffusion of components of asphalt into waste rubber at different temperatures has been investigated in this work. Rectangle rubber was immersed in asphalt at certain temperature for a period of time. And the mass increment of rubber was measured to determine the diffusion rate of components of asphalt into rubber. The experimental results indicated that the diffusion rate of components of asphalt into waste rubber increases along the temperature,but the diffusion rate of components of fractions oil which is distillated from catalytic cracking slurry is much higher than that of components of asphalt. Compared with asphalt,fractions oil enjoys lower viscosity and better permeability with higher content of saturates and aromatics. All the characteristics are contributed to the efficient diffusion of components of fractions into waste rubber.展开更多

Raw materials used were prepared and tested. Varies of asphalt concrete mixtures were prepared with different ratios of bitumen (5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7% % of concrete weight). The Marshall mix design method was used to determine optimum conditions for bitumen in asphalt concrete with specific weight, stability and flow Test, the optimum amount of bitumen was 6.1% of whole asphalt concrete. The different percentages of waste tire rubber powder (0.0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15% of bitumen weight) were added in optimum bitumen of asphalt concretes, then specific weight and Marshall test were evaluated. These asphalt-rubber mixtures were found to act quite differently from traditional, unmodified asphalt mixtures. However, these results indicate that improved pavement performance can be achieved with asphalt-rubber binder.展开更多
A composite rubber concrete(CRC)was designed by combining waste tire rubber particles with particle sizes of 3~5 mm,1~3 mm and 20 mesh.Taking the rubber content of different particle sizes as the influencing factors,t...A composite rubber concrete(CRC)was designed by combining waste tire rubber particles with particle sizes of 3~5 mm,1~3 mm and 20 mesh.Taking the rubber content of different particle sizes as the influencing factors,the range and variance analysis of the mechanical and impermeability properties of CRC was carried out by orthogonal test.Through analysis,it is concluded that the optimal proportion of 3~5 mm,1~3 mm,and 20 mesh particle size composite rubber is 1:2.5:5.5 kinds of CRC and 3 kinds of ordinary single-mixed rubber concrete(RC)with a total content of 10%~20%were designed under this ratio,and the salt-freezing cycle test was carried out with a concentration of 5%Na 2 SO4 solution.The physical and mechanical damage laws during 120 salt-freezing cycles are obtained,and the corresponding damage prediction model is established according to the experimental data.The results show that:on the one hand,the composite rubber in CRC produces a more uniform“graded”structure,forms a retractable particle group,and reduces the loss of mechanical properties of CRC.On the other hand,colloidal particles with different particle sizes are used as air entraining agent to improve the pore structure of concrete and introduce evenly dispersed bubbles,which fundamentally improves the durability of concrete.Under the experimental conditions,the CRC performance is the best when the overall content of composite rubber is 15%.展开更多
Waste plastics,such as waste polyethylene terephthalate(PET)beverage bottles and waste rubber tyres are major municipal solid wastes,which may lead to various environmental problems if they are not appropriately recyc...Waste plastics,such as waste polyethylene terephthalate(PET)beverage bottles and waste rubber tyres are major municipal solid wastes,which may lead to various environmental problems if they are not appropriately recycled.In this study,the feasibility of collectively recycling the two types of waste into performance-increasing modifiers for asphalt pavements was analyzed.This study aimed to investigate the recycling mechanisms of waste PET-derived additives under the treatment of two amines,triethylenetetramine(TETA)and ethanolamine(EA),and characterize the performances of these additives in modifying rubberized bitumen,a bitumen modified by waste tyre rubber.To this end,infrared spectroscopy and thermal analyses were carried out on the two PET-derived additives(PET–TETA and PET–EA).In addition,infrared spectroscopy,viscosity,dynamic shear rheology,and multiple stress creep recovery tests were performed on the rubberized bitumen samples modified by the two PET-derived additives.We concluded that waste PET can be chemically upcycled into functional additives,which can increase the overall performance of the rubberized bitumen.The recycling method developed in this study not only helps alleviate the landfilling problems of both waste PET plastic and scrap tyres,but also turns these wastes into value-added new materials for building durable pavements.展开更多
In this paper,the surface activated crumb rubber with waste cooking oil(WCO)was studied to improve the performance of crumb rubber modified asphalt.The activated waste crumb rubber modified asphalt(OCRMA)with differen...In this paper,the surface activated crumb rubber with waste cooking oil(WCO)was studied to improve the performance of crumb rubber modified asphalt.The activated waste crumb rubber modified asphalt(OCRMA)with different amount of crumb rubber was prepared to study the microscopic appearance of OCRMA by scanning electron microscope and fluorescence microscope and analyze the surface performance.The rheological properties and microscopic mechanism of OCRMA were characterized by dynamic shear rheological test,multiple stress creep recovery(MSCR)test,BBR test and infrared spectroscopy.The results show that the dissolution degree of waste crumb rubber is improved after WCO activation,and the compatibility with asphalt components is enhanced,and the stable cross-linking structure is formed,which improves the asphalt performance.The several new absorption peaks,which were obvious,were all caused by the composition of WCO,that is,there was no significant chemical change during the interaction between the activated crumb rubber and base asphalt.Compared with the common waste crumb rubber modified asphalt(CRMA),activation with WCO can significantly reduce the viscosity of CRMA,decrease the difference of segregation softening point by 27%,and enhance the low temperature performance by 30%.The aging degree is greatly reduced,and the anti-aging performance of OCRMA is increased by about 20%with the same dosage.The high temperature performance,though higher than that of base asphalt,decreases to some extent.After comprehensive analysis,the optimal dosage of crumb rubber for OCRMA is 30%.展开更多

The performance of the composting process was monitored as a function of carbon and organic matter decomposition rate, temperature and moisture content. The results indicate that the rubber factory waste is best composted with water hyacinth and sludge than composted alone. In addition, the CMA is more aft^ctive when mixed with the rubber factory waste, water hyacinth and sludge since a good fertilizer is achieved. When adding CMA into the rubber factory waste composted alone, the finished product does not achieve a standard of fertilizer, especially the C/N ratio. The finished products (both CMA and without CMA), can be an environmental friendly alternative to solve the disposal problems of rubber factory waste, Since the C/N ratio, pH, moisture content, temperature, and nutrients of the finished products are acceptable for agriculture use.展开更多

The X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and surface contact angle were used to characterize the hydrophilicity and surface functional group of rubber particles. The effect of rubber particle modifi cation on fresh/hardened properties of rubberized concrete was studied. The experimental results show that the contact angle between rubber particle surface and water decreases when rubber particle is modifi ed. Compared with the unmodifi ed rubberized concrete(RC), the unit weight of modifi ed rubberized concrete(MRC) changes slightly. However, the slump, air-entrainment, compressive strength, flexural strength, and impact performance of MRC are obviously improved. Under good condition of slump, the water-cement ratio of the MRC can be reduced from 0.4 to 0.38. And the compressive strength and fl exural strength of the MRC(10% rubber particle content) can be increased by 25.9% and 26.4%, respectively.展开更多
Waste plastics and rubber have always posed a threat to the environment and a great challenge for disposal.The use of these two waste materials as modifiers for road asphalt provides new road asphalt binders and at th...Waste plastics and rubber have always posed a threat to the environment and a great challenge for disposal.The use of these two waste materials as modifiers for road asphalt provides new road asphalt binders and at the same time provides a new way for waste material resource treatment.Rubber-modified asphalt and plastic-modified asphalt have received widespread attention due to their green and low-carbon characteristics and some performance advantages,but there are still some performance shortcomings that hinder their promotion and application.In order to continue to explore the application of waste materials in the field of road engineering,combined with the performance advantages of both,many scholars began to study the rubber-plastic composite modified asphalt(RPCMA).Therefore,this paper reviewed the different types of waste rubber and plastic,the comprehensive performance of different types of asphalt and its mixture performance,analyzed the modification mechanism of rubber-plastic composite modified asphalt and its performance changes.The results show that rubber-plastic composite modified asphalt is mostly prepared by directly adding modified materials.However,the pretreatment or melt granulation of rubber and plastic will make the performance of rubber-plastic modified asphalt has improved.There is a mutual promotion mechanism between rubber and plastic in asphalt,which makes the performance of rubber-plastic modified asphalt better than that of asphalt obtained by a single modification method(rubber modified asphalt or plastic modified asphalt).In some properties,it can be close to the commercial SBS modified asphalt.The performance of rubber and plastic composite modified asphalt at high temperature has been generally recognized by researchers,but its low-temperature performance is still controversial.Therefore,it is recommended to apply in high-temperature areas.Future work should focus on the development of composite modifiers with stable performance,low cost and ease of use,standardization of modification processes,improvement of low-temperature performance,and monitoring of road performance and environmental impact.展开更多
Management of discarded tires is a compelling environmental issue worldwide.Although there are several approaches developed to recycle waste tire rubbers,their application in solid-state cooling is still unexplored.Co...Management of discarded tires is a compelling environmental issue worldwide.Although there are several approaches developed to recycle waste tire rubbers,their application in solid-state cooling is still unexplored.Considering the high barocaloric potential verified for elastomers,the use of waste tire rubber(WTR)as a refrigerant in solid-state cooling devices is very promising.Herein,we investigated the barocaloric effects in WTR and polymer blends made of vulcanized natural rubber(VNR)and WTR,to evaluate its feasibility for solid-state cooling technologies.The adiabatic temperature changes and the isothermal entropy changes reach giant values,as well as the performance parameters,being comparable or even better than most barocaloric materials in literature.Moreover,pure WTR and WTR-based samples also present a faster thermal exchange than VNR,consisting of an additional advantage of using these discarded materials.Thus,the present findings evidence the encouraging perspectives of employing waste rubbers in solid-state cooling based on barocaloric effects,contributing to both the recycling of polymers and the sustainable energy technology field.展开更多
Several previous studies have documented the progress in polymer modified asphalt binder with respect to materials'types and properties.However,limited or no effort was made to document findings on the laboratory ...Several previous studies have documented the progress in polymer modified asphalt binder with respect to materials'types and properties.However,limited or no effort was made to document findings on the laboratory preparation practices of polymer modified asphalt binder.Full and clear disclosure of asphalt blend preparation method is necessary for research continuity,reproducibility,and accurate adaptation by future studies for analogy and reliable conclusions.The laboratory preparation processes of various modified asphalt binders have been reviewed in this study.Factors affecting the optimal mixing of asphalt-polymer blends were summarized.The optimal mixing conditions associated with different asphalt modifiers were documented.Gap in the literature on the current practice for the preparation and reporting of various modified asphalt binder was discussed.Modifiers include styrene butadiene styrene(SBS),polyethylene(PE),waste tire rubber or crumb rubber(CR),ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA),sulfur,polyphosphoric acid(PPA),epoxy,polyurethane,nano-materials,etc.Currently,there is lack of modern innovative approached in the preparation of modified asphalt towards better performance.There is no clear standardized definition of term associated with asphalt binder preparation process.Given the limited and common types of polymers utilized for the modification of asphalt binder,it is possible to standardize the mixing procedure for several polymers.Doing so could ease research continuity and facilitates accurate comparison of new studies with earlier ones.展开更多
Pyrolysis is an efficient and economical method for the utilization of waste rubber,but the high sulfur content limits its industrial application.Currently,the migration and transformation of the element S during pyro...Pyrolysis is an efficient and economical method for the utilization of waste rubber,but the high sulfur content limits its industrial application.Currently,the migration and transformation of the element S during pyrolysis of waste rubber is far from well known.In this work,a density functional theory(DFT)method was employed to explore the possible formation pathways of H_(2)S and its precursors(radicals HS·and S·)during the pyrolysis of thiophene,which is an important primary pyrolytic product of rubber.In particular,the influence of reactive hydrogen radicals was carefully investigated in the thiophene pyrolysis process.The calculation results indicate that the decomposition of thiophene tends to be initiated by hydrogen transfer between adjacent carbon atoms,which needs to overcome an energy barrier of 312.4 kJ/mol.The optimal pathway to generate H_(2)S in thiophene pyrolysis involves initial H migration and S-C bond cleavage,with an overall energy barrier of 525.8 kJ/mol.In addition,a thiol intermediate that bears unsaturated C-C bonds is essential for thiophene pyrolysis to generate H_(2)S,which exists in multiple critical reaction pathways.Moreover,the presence of hydrogen radicals significantly changes the decomposition patterns and reduces the energy barriers for thiophene decomposition,thus promoting the formation of H_(2)S.The current work on H_(2)S formation from thiophene can provide some theoretical support to explore clean utilization technologies for waste rubber.展开更多

The experimental results indicated that the diffusion rate of components of asphalt into waste rubber increases along the temperature,but the diffusion rate of components of fractions oil which is distillated from catalytic cracking slurry is much higher than that of components of asphalt. Compared with asphalt,fractions oil enjoys lower viscosity and better permeability with higher content of saturates and aromatics. All the characteristics are contributed to the efficient diffusion of components of fractions into waste rubber.
文摘The research considered urgent ecological reasons linked to environment such as worn tires, the waste tire rubber's powder was collected from the tire cars repair shops (passed from the sieve No 18 μm), and used to improve the asphalt concrete properties. Raw materials used were prepared and tested. Varies of asphalt concrete mixtures were prepared with different ratios of bitumen (5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7% % of concrete weight). The Marshall mix design method was used to determine optimum conditions for bitumen in asphalt concrete with specific weight, stability and flow Test, the optimum amount of bitumen was 6.1% of whole asphalt concrete. The different percentages of waste tire rubber powder (0.0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15% of bitumen weight) were added in optimum bitumen of asphalt concretes, then specific weight and Marshall test were evaluated. These asphalt-rubber mixtures were found to act quite differently from traditional, unmodified asphalt mixtures. However, these results indicate that improved pavement performance can be achieved with asphalt-rubber binder.

文摘A composite rubber concrete(CRC)was designed by combining waste tire rubber particles with particle sizes of 3~5 mm,1~3 mm and 20 mesh.Taking the rubber content of different particle sizes as the influencing factors,the range and variance analysis of the mechanical and impermeability properties of CRC was carried out by orthogonal test.Through analysis,it is concluded that the optimal proportion of 3~5 mm,1~3 mm,and 20 mesh particle size composite rubber is 1:2.5:5.5 kinds of CRC and 3 kinds of ordinary single-mixed rubber concrete(RC)with a total content of 10%~20%were designed under this ratio,and the salt-freezing cycle test was carried out with a concentration of 5%Na 2 SO4 solution.The physical and mechanical damage laws during 120 salt-freezing cycles are obtained,and the corresponding damage prediction model is established according to the experimental data.The results show that:on the one hand,the composite rubber in CRC produces a more uniform“graded”structure,forms a retractable particle group,and reduces the loss of mechanical properties of CRC.On the other hand,colloidal particles with different particle sizes are used as air entraining agent to improve the pore structure of concrete and introduce evenly dispersed bubbles,which fundamentally improves the durability of concrete.Under the experimental conditions,the CRC performance is the best when the overall content of composite rubber is 15%.

文摘Waste plastics,such as waste polyethylene terephthalate(PET)beverage bottles and waste rubber tyres are major municipal solid wastes,which may lead to various environmental problems if they are not appropriately recycled.In this study,the feasibility of collectively recycling the two types of waste into performance-increasing modifiers for asphalt pavements was analyzed.This study aimed to investigate the recycling mechanisms of waste PET-derived additives under the treatment of two amines,triethylenetetramine(TETA)and ethanolamine(EA),and characterize the performances of these additives in modifying rubberized bitumen,a bitumen modified by waste tyre rubber.To this end,infrared spectroscopy and thermal analyses were carried out on the two PET-derived additives(PET–TETA and PET–EA).In addition,infrared spectroscopy,viscosity,dynamic shear rheology,and multiple stress creep recovery tests were performed on the rubberized bitumen samples modified by the two PET-derived additives.We concluded that waste PET can be chemically upcycled into functional additives,which can increase the overall performance of the rubberized bitumen.The recycling method developed in this study not only helps alleviate the landfilling problems of both waste PET plastic and scrap tyres,but also turns these wastes into value-added new materials for building durable pavements.

文摘In this paper,the surface activated crumb rubber with waste cooking oil(WCO)was studied to improve the performance of crumb rubber modified asphalt.The activated waste crumb rubber modified asphalt(OCRMA)with different amount of crumb rubber was prepared to study the microscopic appearance of OCRMA by scanning electron microscope and fluorescence microscope and analyze the surface performance.The rheological properties and microscopic mechanism of OCRMA were characterized by dynamic shear rheological test,multiple stress creep recovery(MSCR)test,BBR test and infrared spectroscopy.The results show that the dissolution degree of waste crumb rubber is improved after WCO activation,and the compatibility with asphalt components is enhanced,and the stable cross-linking structure is formed,which improves the asphalt performance.The several new absorption peaks,which were obvious,were all caused by the composition of WCO,that is,there was no significant chemical change during the interaction between the activated crumb rubber and base asphalt.Compared with the common waste crumb rubber modified asphalt(CRMA),activation with WCO can significantly reduce the viscosity of CRMA,decrease the difference of segregation softening point by 27%,and enhance the low temperature performance by 30%.The aging degree is greatly reduced,and the anti-aging performance of OCRMA is increased by about 20%with the same dosage.The high temperature performance,though higher than that of base asphalt,decreases to some extent.After comprehensive analysis,the optimal dosage of crumb rubber for OCRMA is 30%.

文摘An aerobic composting method is studied to reuse organic waste from rubb er factory waste as soil fertilizer and to study the effect of cellulolytic microbial activator (CMA) as the activator in the rubber factory waste composting. The performance of the composting process was monitored as a function of carbon and organic matter decomposition rate, temperature and moisture content. The results indicate that the rubber factory waste is best composted with water hyacinth and sludge than composted alone. In addition, the CMA is more aft^ctive when mixed with the rubber factory waste, water hyacinth and sludge since a good fertilizer is achieved. When adding CMA into the rubber factory waste composted alone, the finished product does not achieve a standard of fertilizer, especially the C/N ratio. The finished products (both CMA and without CMA), can be an environmental friendly alternative to solve the disposal problems of rubber factory waste, Since the C/N ratio, pH, moisture content, temperature, and nutrients of the finished products are acceptable for agriculture use.

文摘To improve the combination of cement matrix and waste tire rubber particles in concrete, the rubber particles were treated with acrylic acid(ACA) and polyethylene glycol(PEG) for grafting hydrophilic groups on their surfaces. The X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) and surface contact angle were used to characterize the hydrophilicity and surface functional group of rubber particles. The effect of rubber particle modifi cation on fresh/hardened properties of rubberized concrete was studied. The experimental results show that the contact angle between rubber particle surface and water decreases when rubber particle is modifi ed. Compared with the unmodifi ed rubberized concrete(RC), the unit weight of modifi ed rubberized concrete(MRC) changes slightly. However, the slump, air-entrainment, compressive strength, flexural strength, and impact performance of MRC are obviously improved. Under good condition of slump, the water-cement ratio of the MRC can be reduced from 0.4 to 0.38. And the compressive strength and fl exural strength of the MRC(10% rubber particle content) can be increased by 25.9% and 26.4%, respectively.

文摘Waste plastics and rubber have always posed a threat to the environment and a great challenge for disposal.The use of these two waste materials as modifiers for road asphalt provides new road asphalt binders and at the same time provides a new way for waste material resource treatment.Rubber-modified asphalt and plastic-modified asphalt have received widespread attention due to their green and low-carbon characteristics and some performance advantages,but there are still some performance shortcomings that hinder their promotion and application.In order to continue to explore the application of waste materials in the field of road engineering,combined with the performance advantages of both,many scholars began to study the rubber-plastic composite modified asphalt(RPCMA).Therefore,this paper reviewed the different types of waste rubber and plastic,the comprehensive performance of different types of asphalt and its mixture performance,analyzed the modification mechanism of rubber-plastic composite modified asphalt and its performance changes.The results show that rubber-plastic composite modified asphalt is mostly prepared by directly adding modified materials.However,the pretreatment or melt granulation of rubber and plastic will make the performance of rubber-plastic modified asphalt has improved.There is a mutual promotion mechanism between rubber and plastic in asphalt,which makes the performance of rubber-plastic modified asphalt better than that of asphalt obtained by a single modification method(rubber modified asphalt or plastic modified asphalt).In some properties,it can be close to the commercial SBS modified asphalt.The performance of rubber and plastic composite modified asphalt at high temperature has been generally recognized by researchers,but its low-temperature performance is still controversial.Therefore,it is recommended to apply in high-temperature areas.Future work should focus on the development of composite modifiers with stable performance,low cost and ease of use,standardization of modification processes,improvement of low-temperature performance,and monitoring of road performance and environmental impact.

文摘Management of discarded tires is a compelling environmental issue worldwide.Although there are several approaches developed to recycle waste tire rubbers,their application in solid-state cooling is still unexplored.Considering the high barocaloric potential verified for elastomers,the use of waste tire rubber(WTR)as a refrigerant in solid-state cooling devices is very promising.Herein,we investigated the barocaloric effects in WTR and polymer blends made of vulcanized natural rubber(VNR)and WTR,to evaluate its feasibility for solid-state cooling technologies.The adiabatic temperature changes and the isothermal entropy changes reach giant values,as well as the performance parameters,being comparable or even better than most barocaloric materials in literature.Moreover,pure WTR and WTR-based samples also present a faster thermal exchange than VNR,consisting of an additional advantage of using these discarded materials.Thus,the present findings evidence the encouraging perspectives of employing waste rubbers in solid-state cooling based on barocaloric effects,contributing to both the recycling of polymers and the sustainable energy technology field.
文摘Several previous studies have documented the progress in polymer modified asphalt binder with respect to materials'types and properties.However,limited or no effort was made to document findings on the laboratory preparation practices of polymer modified asphalt binder.Full and clear disclosure of asphalt blend preparation method is necessary for research continuity,reproducibility,and accurate adaptation by future studies for analogy and reliable conclusions.The laboratory preparation processes of various modified asphalt binders have been reviewed in this study.Factors affecting the optimal mixing of asphalt-polymer blends were summarized.The optimal mixing conditions associated with different asphalt modifiers were documented.Gap in the literature on the current practice for the preparation and reporting of various modified asphalt binder was discussed.Modifiers include styrene butadiene styrene(SBS),polyethylene(PE),waste tire rubber or crumb rubber(CR),ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA),sulfur,polyphosphoric acid(PPA),epoxy,polyurethane,nano-materials,etc.Currently,there is lack of modern innovative approached in the preparation of modified asphalt towards better performance.There is no clear standardized definition of term associated with asphalt binder preparation process.Given the limited and common types of polymers utilized for the modification of asphalt binder,it is possible to standardize the mixing procedure for several polymers.Doing so could ease research continuity and facilitates accurate comparison of new studies with earlier ones.

文摘Pyrolysis is an efficient and economical method for the utilization of waste rubber,but the high sulfur content limits its industrial application.Currently,the migration and transformation of the element S during pyrolysis of waste rubber is far from well known.In this work,a density functional theory(DFT)method was employed to explore the possible formation pathways of H_(2)S and its precursors(radicals HS·and S·)during the pyrolysis of thiophene,which is an important primary pyrolytic product of rubber.In particular,the influence of reactive hydrogen radicals was carefully investigated in the thiophene pyrolysis process.The calculation results indicate that the decomposition of thiophene tends to be initiated by hydrogen transfer between adjacent carbon atoms,which needs to overcome an energy barrier of 312.4 kJ/mol.The optimal pathway to generate H_(2)S in thiophene pyrolysis involves initial H migration and S-C bond cleavage,with an overall energy barrier of 525.8 kJ/mol.In addition,a thiol intermediate that bears unsaturated C-C bonds is essential for thiophene pyrolysis to generate H_(2)S,which exists in multiple critical reaction pathways.Moreover,the presence of hydrogen radicals significantly changes the decomposition patterns and reduces the energy barriers for thiophene decomposition,thus promoting the formation of H_(2)S.The current work on H_(2)S formation from thiophene can provide some theoretical support to explore clean utilization technologies for waste rubber.
