Layered double hydroxides (LDHs)/styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) eopolymer modified bitumen was prepared by melt blending. The effect of LDHs on the ultraviolet (UV) aging behavior of SBS modified bitumen was investigated. The changes of chemical structures of modified bitumen before and after UV aging were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The results show that LDHs obviously reduce the variation of softening point and low temperature flexibility of SBS modified bitumen under different UV radiation intensities, which indicates that the UV aging resistance performance of SBS modified bitumen is improved effectively by LDHs. Compared with SBS modified bitumen, the changes of carbonyl, sulfoxide and butadienyl of LDHs/SBS modified bitumen decrease significantly after UV aging according to FTIR analysis, demonstrating that the oxidation and degradation reactions of SBS modified bitumen were restrained effectively by adding LDHs. 展开更多

Layered double hydroxides(LDHs) with the physical property of high ultraviolet(UV)reflectance were used to enhance the anti-UV aging performance of bitumen. In view of the poor compatibility of LDHs with bitumen, three organic anions, namely, sodium dodecyl benzenesulfonate(SDBS), sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) and sodium dodecyl sulfonate(SDSO), were used as modifiers to prepare organic LDHs(OCLDHs) through regeneration process, and the crystal structure, chemical composition, morphological feature and UV shielding capability of synthesized OCLDHs were analyzed. Then the OCLDHs were added into bitumen to evaluate the storage stability and anti-UV aging property of OCLDHs/bitumen composites.The results show that the organic anions are inserted into the interlayers of LDHs, the intercalation expands the interlayer distance of LDHs, makes the particle shapes become more irregular and complicated, and enhances the absorption ability within the range from 200 to 300 nm while has little influence on the UV reflection ability.Result of high temperature storage stability indicates the organic modification ameliorates the compatibility of LDHs with bitumen. Compared with LDHs, OCLDHs decrease the deteriorations of bitumen’s properties during UV exposure test, exhibiting better effect in enhancing anti-UV aging performance of bitumen. Furthermore,among the three OCLDHs, LDHs intercalated by SDBS exhibit the most effective improvement due to the best compatibility with bitumen and comparatively good UV shielding effect. 展开更多

To improve the ductility of a commercial Mg−rare earth alloy EV31A(Mg−3Nd−1.5Gd−0.3Zn−0.5Zr),a heat treatment method called double aging is explored,and its effect on mechanical properties and microstructure of the alloy is studied.Ultimate strength and elongation of the alloy can be increased to 288 MPa and 6.6%by the optimum double aging process,compared to 273 MPa and 4.9%after single aging.Time consumption of the aging process is also significantly decreased from 16 h(single aging)to 2 h.HAADF-STEM characterization shows that the primary precipitate isβ'phase,which is similar toβ'phase in Mg−Nd binary alloy.By double aging,theβ'phase is finer and more densely distributed compared with single aging,with approximately double density and half size,which explains the improvement in strength and ductility. 展开更多

In order to develop economically anti-ultraviolet(UV) aging additives to bitumen and extend the comprehensive utilization of lignin materials, lignosulfonate(LS) was selected to intercalate into layered double hydroxides(LDHs), then the LS intercalated LDHs(LS-LDHs) were applied to improve UV aging resistance of bitumen. With the characterization of X-ray diffraction(XRD), Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy, chemical analysis and scanning electron microscopy(SEM), LS was successfully intercalated into the galleries of LDHs. The ultraviolet and visible(UV-vis) absorbance curves showed LS-LDHs had excellent UV absorptive ability from 200 to 400 nm. Thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry(TG-DSC) indicated LS-LDHs could have a good thermal stability during the processing of bitumen. Compared with the LDHs, the LS-LDHs exhibited better performance in UV aging resistance of bitumen. 展开更多

The development of magnesium alloys was limited due to the low absolute strength and poor corrosion resistance. It was found that the optimal performance could not be achieved in some alloys by a single quenching and aging treatment, but could be achieved after a graded aging or multiple-stage aging heat treatment. The Mg97Zn1Y2 alloy was prepared and subjected to single and double aging treatments. Single aging was carried out at 250 ℃ for 6 to 15 h. For double aging, the first step was performed the same as the single aging. The second step was performed at 350 ℃ for 12 h. The microstructure and properties of the alloy with single and double aging were analyzed by means of hardness measurement, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and polarization curve measurements. Results show that the precipitated nanoscale phases are formed during aging, and evenly distributed in the matrix. Compared with the single aging treatment, the hardness and corrosion resistance of the alloy are further improved due to the double aging treatment. 展开更多

Progeria is a rare genetic disease that causes accelerated aging and death in children at a mean age of 13.5 years. An?aminobisphosphonate-statin combination has been shown to reduce the toxicity of the mutated protein, progerin, in progeria patient cell cultures and in a mouse model of the disease. This combination is currently being tested in a European Therapeutic Trial for progeria in Marseille (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier NCT00731016). Progerin has been shown to be produced by skin cells during physiological aging. The objective of this study was to assess the efficiency of a new and original cosmetic formulation containing alendronate and pravastatin sodium salts, reduce crow’s feet wrinkles, and cheek hollow in a double blind, randomized and placebo controlled comparative study. Three cosmetic preparations were evaluated using Fast Optical in vivo Topometry of human Skin (FOITS): one containing sodium alendronate and sodium pravastatin, a placebo, and a commercial anti-aging product. Fifty-seven female and twenty-five male volunteers between 51 and 71-year-old were selected. Each subject tested two of the three products once a day, in the evening, by spreading each selected product on one side of the face. Skin micro-relief was analyzed at 0, 28, 56 and 84 days. Statistical analysis of 7 clinical qualitative (left or right side of face, gender, and 3 skin types) and 6 quantitative parameters (age, weight at each test time, wrinkle clinical grade at inclusion time) showed no statistical differences between the three tested products. In contrast, most of the 8 quantitative FOITS parameters describing skin micro-relief were statistically improved by the alendronate-pravastatin combination compared to the placebo or to the commercial anti-aging product. A cosmetic preparation containing alendronate and pravastatin sodium salts exhibited anti-aging effects by reducing crow’s feet wrinkles and restoring cheek volume. 展开更多

Global seismicity catalogs are sufficient for characterizing double seismic zones (DSZs) in subducting slab and facilitate to estimate layer separation without inconsistent uncertainties as local catalogs. Previous studies have shown the correlation between DSZs layer separation and plate age while correlation for those younger than -60 Ma is suspicious. The lacking of DSZs with layer separation less than 10 km further makes it difficult to precisely estimate such correlation. Thus, we incorporate eight DSZs data determined through local seismicity into globally-determined dataset and reexamine such correlation. The best fitting results show that both a linear model and a square root of plate age can mathematically fit the layer separation well. However, it is difficult to distinguish these two models when plate age is greater than -20 Ma since their difference is less than 2 km. However, if extrapolation is possible, both models should provide physical information that DSZs will not form if there is no subducting lithosphere. As a result, the DSZs cannot be produced until the oceanic lithospheric age becomes greater than 0.9 Ma in the square root model while the linear model gives a misleading result. As such the square root model demonstrates the relationship physically better than the linear one, it still needs further test in the future with more available data, nevertheless, our study might also provide evidence for the suggestion that the plate age is a primary control factor of the DSZs geometry as well as the subducting process which disregards any local tectonic stresses. 展开更多

Our results show that the surface plasmon resonance wavelength of the hollow porous nanoparticles could be easily tuned in a wide range in the visible and near infrared region by controlling the volume of HAuCl4. The nonlinear optical refraction of the double-shelled Ag@Au/Ag@Au nanoparticles is prominently enhanced by the plasmon resonance. Our findings may find applications in biosensors and nonlinear optical nanodevices. 展开更多

Thermal stability and shelf life assessment of modified DB propellant were investigated. Shelf life assessment was evaluated using Van’t Hoff’s formula and artificial aging at 70℃ up to120 days. Quantification of total heat released and heat flow with aging time was conducted using differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and thermal activity monitoring(TAMIII) respectively. Modified DB formulation based on 20 wt % RDX demonstrated enhanced thermal stability in terms of controlled heat flow, and slow decomposition reactions at elevated temperature. This formulation demonstrated extended service life up to 56 years compared with reference formulation. These novel finding was ascribed to the high thermal stability of RDX and its compatibility with DB constituents. This manuscript shaded the light on novel and effective approach for thermal stability via monitoring thermal activity with aging. 展开更多

Double base propellant suffers from lack of chemical stability; this could result in self ignition during storing. Modified double base(MDB) propellant based on stoichiometric binary mixture of oxidizermetal fuel(Ammonium perchlorate/Aluminum), and energetic nitramines(HMX) offered enhanced thrust as well as combustion characteristics. This study is devoted to evaluate the impact of such energetic additives on thermal behavior, chemical stability, and shelf life. Extruded MDB formulations were manufactured by extrusion process. Artificial aging at 80℃ for 28 days was conducted. Shelf life assessment was performed using Van't Hoff's equation. Quantification of evolved NOxgases with aging time was performed using quantitative stability tests. MDB formulation based on HMX demonstrated extended service life of 16 years compared with(AP/Al)-MDB which demonstrated 9 years. This finding was ascribed to the reactivity of AP with nitroglycerin with the formation of perchloric acid. Thermal behavior of aged MDB, exhibited an increase in heat released with time; this was ascribed to the autocatalytic thermal degradation during artificial aging. The increase in released heat by 31% was found to be equivalent to evolved NOx gases of 6.2 cm^3/5 g and 2.5 cm^3/1 g for Bergmann-Junk test, and Vacuum stability test respectively. This manuscript shaded the light on a novel approach to quantify evolved NOx gases to heat released with aging time. MDB based on HMX offered balanced ballistic performance,chemical stability, and service life. 展开更多

Double-base(DB) propellant is vulnerable to auto-catalytic decomposition reactions during storing with the evolution of nitrogen oxides. Modified DB propellant based on energetic nitramines(RDX) can offer enhanced thrust and action time. This study is devoted to evaluate the impact of RDX on chemical stability and shelf life of DB propellant. Extruded modified DB propellant based on RDX was manufactured by solventless extrusion process. Shelf life assessment was performed using an artificial aging at70 ℃ up to 120 days and employing Van't Hoffs formula. Quantification of evolved NOx gases and stabilizer depletion with aging time was conducted using Bergmann-Junk test and HPLC respectively.Modified DB formulation based on RDX 20 wt % demonstrated enhanced chemical stability and extended service life up to 46 years compared with reference formulation. This finding was ascribed to the high chemical and thermal stability of RDX as well as its compatibility with DB constituents; no side chemical reactions could take place during storing. This manuscript shaded the light on RDX as effective energetic constituent that offered DB propellants with enhanced performance, good chemical stability, and extended service life. 展开更多

It is found that the transformations occur not only in the as quenched sample, but also in the as trained, as aged and as thermal cycled samples, and various treatments give rise to different influences on the transformation temperatures of the two transformations. Though the temperature interval between the two transformation peaks increases after training, aging and thermal cycling, the initial temperature of the M → A transformation is just the final temperature of the X → M transformation, namely, the X → M transformation is immediately followed by the M → A transformation upon heating. 展开更多

To obtain better strength-toughness balance of 15-5PH stainless steel,a double aging treatment is proposed to investigate the mechanical properties and microstructure evolution.In this study,Cu precipitates and reversed austenite played a determining role to improve strength-toughness combination.The microstructure was observed using electron backscattered diffraction,transmission electron microscopy and scanning transmission electron microscopy.The volume fractions of Cu precipitates and reversed austenite were calculated with Thermo-Calc software and measured by X-ray diffraction.The results showed that the reversed austenite is formed at the martensitic lath boundaries and its volume fraction also increases with the increase of the aging temperature.At the same time,the size of the Cu precipitates gradually increases.Compared with the traditional single aging and double aging treatment,double aging treatment of 15-5PH stainless steel can increase the toughness while retaining the necessary strength.During double aging of 550℃×4 h+580℃×1 h,15-5PH stainless steel has the best strength and low-temperature(-40℃)toughness match.Its yield strength,ultimate tensile strength and the Charpy impact energy are 1.037 GPa,1.086 GPa and 179 J,respectively. 展开更多

老旧住区是我国城市老年人居住的主要场所,住房与老年人经历了共生长和共衰老的“双老化”过程,此类住区是老旧住区更新的重要类型。积极老龄化框架下的老年友好社区实践作为改善居家社区养老的方法越来越受到普遍关注,其旨在为老年人... 老旧住区是我国城市老年人居住的主要场所,住房与老年人经历了共生长和共衰老的“双老化”过程,此类住区是老旧住区更新的重要类型。积极老龄化框架下的老年友好社区实践作为改善居家社区养老的方法越来越受到普遍关注,其旨在为老年人塑造出满足安居(吃住看病和基本锻炼),乐居(个人兴趣的满足和开发)和家居(邻里共建和贡献参与)三个层次目标的宜居社区,但目前在此框架下开展的针对“双老化”住区更新的研究和实践仍存在不足。为此,本研究选取北京四个典型的“双老化”住区,采用活动路径记录法归纳老年群体从事积极生活行为的规律特征,并结合以老年人为主的针对多方利益主体的非结构式访谈进一步分析环境空间,经济等维度的要素影响其行为积极度以及阻碍制约住区可持续更新进程的深层次原因。最后,从城市—社区,社区—住区,住区—建筑三个空间尺度提出“双老化”住区的环境改造策略和政策建议。 展开更多

目的 探讨肩关节镜下双排缝合桥修复手术对老年肩袖损伤病人疼痛、手臂与肩部功能障碍(DASH)评分及再撕裂发生率的影响。方法 回顾性分析2018年8月至2020年2月阜阳市第二人民医院收治的89例老年肩袖损伤病人的临床资料,依照手术方法的... 目的 探讨肩关节镜下双排缝合桥修复手术对老年肩袖损伤病人疼痛、手臂与肩部功能障碍(DASH)评分及再撕裂发生率的影响。方法 回顾性分析2018年8月至2020年2月阜阳市第二人民医院收治的89例老年肩袖损伤病人的临床资料,依照手术方法的不同划分成对照组(肩关节镜下单排铆钉固定)、治疗组(肩关节镜下双排缝合桥修复手术),分别为43例、46例。于术前、术后1年采用视觉模拟评分法(VAS)评定患肩疼痛度,采用手臂与肩部功能障碍(DASH)评分量表评定肩关节功能,测量患肩关节前屈、外展活动度,并统计两组1年内再撕裂发生率。通过logistic回归分析确定病人术后再撕裂发生的影响因素。结果 术后1年两组不同撕裂程度病人VAS、DASH评分及患肩关节前屈、外展活动度与同组术前相比均明显改善(均P<0.05),术后两组轻度撕裂病人上述指标改善情况比较差异无统计学意义(均P>0.05),而治疗组中、重度撕裂病人上述指标改善情况均明显较对照组优(均P<0.05);治疗组再撕裂发生率4.35%明显较对照组的23.26%低(P<0.05);年龄、手术方式是病人术后再撕裂发生的影响因素(均P<0.05)。结论 对老年肩袖损伤病人实施肩关节镜下双排缝合桥修复手术,可有效改善患肩疼痛及功能,显著降低再撕裂发生率。 展开更多

采用双靶磁控溅射技术通过调节靶材的溅射功率在表面氧化的Si(100)衬底上制备出了一系列不同Ag含量的Ag-Ti合金薄膜,利用扫描电子显微镜和X射线衍射仪对薄膜的形貌、组成及晶体结构进行了分析,并对Ag-Ti薄膜的去合金化方法进行了初步探... 采用双靶磁控溅射技术通过调节靶材的溅射功率在表面氧化的Si(100)衬底上制备出了一系列不同Ag含量的Ag-Ti合金薄膜,利用扫描电子显微镜和X射线衍射仪对薄膜的形貌、组成及晶体结构进行了分析,并对Ag-Ti薄膜的去合金化方法进行了初步探究。结果表明:通过低温双靶磁控溅射制备的Ag-Ti合金薄膜处于热力学不稳定状态且具有良好的成分均匀性,并且薄膜的厚度、含银量、晶粒尺寸及结晶度均随着银靶功率的提升而不断增加。此外,本研究首次发现,通过简单的硝酸和过氧化氢溶液处理,能够成功实现Ag-Ti薄膜的去合金化,且产物分别为多层级多孔银膜以及掺银的纳米多孔氧化钛薄膜,因而在表面增强拉曼散射、光催化、医用抗菌等领域具有潜在价值。 展开更多
