AGVs Dispatching Using Multiple Cooperative Learning Agents

AGVs dispatching, one of the hot problems in FMS, has attracted widespread interest in recent years. It is hard to dynamically schedule AGVs with pre designed rule because of the uncertainty and dynamic nature of AGVs dispatching progress, so the AGVs system in this paper is treated as a cooperative learning multiagent system, in which each agent adopts multilevel decision method, which includes two level decisions: the option level and the action level. On the option level, an agent learns a policy to execute a subtask with the best response to the other AGVs’ current options. On the action level, an agent learns an optimal policy of actions for achieving his planned option. The method is applied to a AGVs’ dispatching simulation, and the performance of the AGVs system based on this method is verified. 展开更多

Promoting Collaborative Learning in Dynamics Remedial Course

The paper reports on collaborative learning approach to a remedial class in Dynamics. It uses the Kolb model and 4MAT learning system to introduce a learning cycle based on collaborative problem solving exercises. The teaching approach based on learning cycle is described giving examples of different teaching elements applied in particular quadrants of the learning cycle. The attitude of students and their different approaches to, learning are presented and discussed in detail. The results presented cover different aspects of the course delivery and students' perception. The results include students' statistics with respect to their registration and previous history related to the course, their motivatiion, assessment and satisfaction with the approach applied. This initial introduction of cooperative activities into the remedial Dynamics class can be assessed as a positive step in increasing student understanding and performance in the course. The students' positive reception of the non-traditional teaching method and their overall improved performance seem to confirm the advantages of collaborative leaming. In terms of the final grades, the results of the experiment were not as good as expected. However, the application of 4MAT learning system which exposed students to a variety of diverse learning styles improved the quality of education. The positive aspect of the experiment was the attitude of students and their acceptance of the new mode of course delivery. In conclusion collaborative learning could be extended beyond remedial groups to normal student classes. 展开更多

The interaction of cationic gemini surfactants(alkanediyl-α,ω-bis(alkyl dimethylammonium bromide)) with an antipsychotic drug(chlorpromazine hydrochloride(CPZ)) has been investigated. Various micellar and interfacial parameters have been deliberated by surface tension measurement to report the nature of interactions between drug and novel surfactant mixtures. The behavior of mixed systems, their compositions and activities of components have been analyzed in the light of Rubingh's theory. The results indicate synergism in the binary mixtures.The binding study between CPZ and surfactants has been done by spectroscopic techniques such as UV–visible and fluorescence. The results are discussed in the light of the use of gemini surfactants as promising drug delivery agents for phenothiazine drugs, and hence, improve their bioavailability. 展开更多
