Removal of vanadate anion ( 3-4VO ) from aqueous solution on CLDH2 was studied. Batch studies were carried out to address various experimental parameters such as Mg/Al molar ratio, adsorbent dosage, initial concentration of solution, contact time and temperature. Vanadate was removed effectively at the optimized experimental conditions. The adsorption kinetics data fitted the pseudo-first-order model. Isotherms for adsorption vanadate by CLDH2 at different solution temperatures were well described using the Langmuir and Freundlich equations, and the isotherm parameters were calculated using linear regression analysis. The adsorption data fitted the langmuir model with good values of the correlation coefficient (R2〉0.999). The negative value ofΔGΘand the positive value ofΔHΘindicate that the adsorption processes are spontaneous endothermic in nature. The mechanism of adsorption suggests that the surface adsorption is the main process.展开更多

Infrared spectra of chitosan before and after modification showed that the coating and cross-linking are effective. Experiments were performed at different pH of solution and contact time, and appropriate conditions for the adsorption of Cu(Ⅱ) were determined. Experimental equilibrium data were correlated with Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms for determination of the adsorption potential. The results showed that the Langmuir isotherm was better compared with the Freundlich isotherm, and the uptake of Cu(Ⅱ) was 78.13 mg·g^- 1. The kinetics of adsorption corresponded with the first-order Langergren rate equation, and Langergren rate constants were determined.展开更多

The isoelectric point(IEP) and the specific surface area(SSA) of the mineral decreased as the particle porosity of the mineral increased, which corresponded to an increase in the amount of organic carbon. The adsorption capacity of phosphate was higher on FH than on FH-HA1 and FH-HA2 at the scale of micromoles per kilogram. The initial adsorption rate and adsorption affinity of phosphate decreased with an increase in the amount of HA in the mineral. The sensitivity of phosphate adsorption to the change in the pH was greater for FH than for FH-HA complexes. Ionic strength did not affect the adsorption of phosphate onto FH and FH-HA1 at a lower p H, and the increase in the ionic strength promoted phosphate adsorption at a higher p H.However, for the FH-HA2 complex, the increase in the ionic strength inhibited the adsorption of phosphate onto FH-HA2 at a lower p H and increased the adsorption at a higher pH.展开更多

The Lane-Emden boundary value problem with Michaelis-Menten kinetics is used to model the dimensionless oxygen concentration in our analysis. We first convert the Lane-Emden equation to the equivalent Volterra integral form that incorporates the boundary condition at the cell's center, but which still leaves one unknown constant of integration, as an intermediate step. Next we evaluate the Volterra integral form of the concentration and its flux at the cell membrane and substitute them into the remaining boundary condition to determine the unknown constant of integration by appropriate algebraic manipulations. Upon substitution we have converted the equivalent Volterra integral form to the equivalent Fredholm Volterra integral form, and use the Duan Rach modified recursion scheme to effectively decompose the unknown constant of integration by formula. The Adomian decomposition method is then applied to solve the equivalent nonlinear Fredholm-Volterra integral representation of the LaneEmden model for the concentration of oxygen within the spherical cell. Our approach shows enhancements over existing techniques.展开更多

Using ionic liquids instead of aqueous amine solutions overcomes the major thermodynamic issues. By applying SILP tech- nology further advances, in terms of ease of handling and sorption dynamics, are obtained. Initial experimental studies showed that ionic liquids such as tetrahexylammonium prolinate, [N6666][Pro], provide a good candidate for CO2 absorption using SILP technology. Thus a solid SILP absorber comprised of 40 wt% [N6666][Pro] loaded on precalcined silica quantitatively takes up about 1.2 mole CO2 per mole of ionic liquid in consecutive absorption-desorption cycles in a flow-experiment per- formed with 0.09 bar of CO2 (9% CO2 in He).展开更多
