The operation is to remove part of vertebral lamina and release the pressure on the spinal nerve. Because many important vessels and nerves are under the vertebral lamina, any incorrect operation may cause irreparable damage to patients. To improve the safety of lamina milling task, a fuzzy force control strategy is proposed in this paper. Primary experiments have been conducted on bone samples from different animals. The results show that, with the fuzzy force control strategy, the bone milling system can recognize all surgery states and halt the tool at the proper location, achieving satisfactory surgery performance.展开更多

Based on those theories, the conventional mining method(being called the 121 mining method) was established, consisting of excavating two tunnels with a pillar left for mining a working panel. However, with increasing mining depth, engineering geological disasters in the underground caverns have been frequently encountered. In addition, the use of the coal-pillar mining results in a large amount of coal resources unexploited. In order to address the problems above, the ‘‘Roof Cut Short-Arm Beam Theory(RCSBT), being called the 110 mining method)" was proposed by He Manchao in 2008. The 110 mining method features the mining of one coal seam panel, excavating necessarily only one roadway tunnel and leaving no pillars. Realization of the 110 mining method includes the following steps:(1) directional pre-splitting roof cutting,(2) supporting the roof by using high Constant Resistance Large Deformation bolt/cable(CRLD), and(3) blocking gangue by hydraulic props. This paper presents an overview of the principles, techniques and application of the 110 mining method. Special emphasis is placed on the numerical simulation of the geostress distribution found in the mining panel using the 110 method compared to that of the 121 method. In addition, the stress distribution on the ‘‘short beam" left by the roof cutting when performing the 110 method was also investigated using both numerical simulation and theoretical formulation.展开更多

E-learning, as an alternative approach to traditional face-to-face education, is creating immense challenges for educational institutions to develop new approaches for the production and delivery of cost effective and efficient e-contents. Although, there have been many developments in web-based programmes, they have not fully attained their potential due to a variety of factors. These include: 1) lack of exchangeability between learning materials, 2) delivery mechanisms incompatible with the pedagogical design, 3) low student interaction and insensitive learning processes, 4) absence of intelligent online programme advice and guidance, 5) inflexibility in meeting diverse needs, and 6) institutionally centred ineffective implementation strategies. This paper addresses the critical elements for successful delivery of e-learning environments and then focuses on proposing a framework for the development of an integrated knowledge-based learning environment which has the potential to producer cost effective and personalised training programmes.展开更多

Based on negative selection algorithm, the mature detectors are generated. By introducing clonal selection algorithm, the detectors with higher affinity are selected to undergo a proliferation and somatic hyper-mutation process, so that more excellent detector offspring can be generated. Experimental result shows that the detection model has a higher detection rate for unknown smartphone malware, and better detection performance can be achieved by increasing the clone generation.展开更多

Results showed that both RA and EA could increase the volume of microcirculatory blood flow in the cerebral pia mater; and that the increase in the EA group was superior to that in RA group. This suggests that a moderate and effective stimulation is a key to the production of a regulative effect on the organism.展开更多

The core of deepening medical teaching reform is to break the traditional teaching model (i.e. giving a lecture), and create a better classroom teaching situation by making full use of the modern teaching methods. In B-learning, the effective combination of the traditional teaching method' s advantages with the E-learning in a pure technical environment is advocated. In the task-driven teaching, a teaching design is made by students in a real or simulated real environment. In this paper, the effective combination of B-learning with the task-driven teaching model is introduced, so that the better teaching effect is achieved.展开更多
