An adaptive terminal sliding mode control (SMC) technique is proposed to deal with the tracking problem for a class of high-order nonlinear dynamic systems. It is shown that a function augmented sliding hyperplane can be used to develop a new terminal sliding mode for high-order nonlinear systems. A terminal SMC controller based on Lyapunov theory is designed to force the state variables of the closed-loop system to reach and remain on the terminal sliding mode, so that the output tracking error then converges to zero in finite time which can be set arbitrarily. An adaptive mechanism is introduced to estimate the unknown parameters of the upper bounds of system uncertainties. The estimates are then used as controller parameters so that the effects of uncertain dynamics can be eliminated. It is also shown that the stability of the closed-loop system can be guaranteed with the proposed control strategy. The simulation of a numerical example is provided to show the effectiveness of the new method. 展开更多

In this paper,we consider a cognitive radio system with energy harvesting,in which the secondary user operates in a saving-sensing-transmitting(SST) fashion.We investigate the tradeoff between energy harvesting,channel sensing and data transmission and focus on the optimal SST structure to maximize the SU's expected achievable throughput.We consider imperfect knowledge of energy harvesting rate,which cannot be exactly known and only its statistical information is available.By formulating the problem of expected achievable throughput optimization as a mixed-integer non-linear programming one,we derive the optimal saveratio and number of sensed channels with indepth analysis.Simulation results show that the optimal SST structure outperforms random one and performance gain can be enhanced by increasing the SU's energy harvesting rate. 展开更多

The results indicated that the distributed antenna system has more uniform power coverage than the centralized antenna system. The average relative errors of receiving power of both antennas were calculated. The optimal position of the centralized antenna was obtained by Gaussian function refinement, making the system achieve a better transmission power with the same coverage effect, and providing a reference for antenna location in the future real communication in the cabin. 展开更多

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) is an effective technique to deal with a frequency selective channel since it can convert the channel into some flat fading subchannels.However,very different output SNR values of the subchannels will lead to poor bit error performance when a linear equalizer and Equal Bit Allocation(EBA) are adopted in OFDM systems.So,we proposed three novel nonlinear Joint Transceiver(JT) schemes based on Zero-Forcing(ZF) criterion and Minimum Mean Square Error(MMSE) criterion respectively,which can transform all subchannels of an OFDM system into subchannels with identical channel gain.Thus,EBA is equivalent to the Optimum Bit Allocation(OBA) for these subchannels.Numerical analysis helps us to obtain the theoretical approximate BER values of the JT scheme.Simulation results verify the numerical analysis and confirm that the performance of our proposed JT scheme greatly outperforms the traditional linear equalizer with EBA at moderate and high SNR values. 展开更多

It shows that inter-user interference is efficiently mitigated and the uplink sum rate of a multi-user DAS is greatly improved by adopting MMSE receivers. In recent years the variety and complexity of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) applications, the nodes and the functions they are expected to perform have increased immensely. This poses the question of reducing the time from initial design of WSN applications to their implementation as a major research topic. RF communication programs for WSN nodes are generally written on microcontroller units (MCUs) for universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (UART) data communication, however nowadays radio frequency (RF) designs based on field-programmable gate array (FPGA) have emerged as a very powerful alternative, due to their parallel data processing ability and software reconfigurability. In this paper, the authors present a prototype of a flexible multi-node transceiver and monitoring system. The prototype is designed for time-critical applications and can be also reconfigured for other applications like event tracking. The processing power of FPGA is combined with a simple communication protocol. The system consists of three major parts: wireless nodes, the FPGA and display used for visualization of data processing. The transmission protocol is based on preamble and synchronous data transmission, where the receiver adjusts the receiving baud rate in the range from min. 300 to max. 2400 bps. The most important contribution of this work is using the virtual PicoBlaze Soft-Core Processor for controlling the data transmission through the RF modules. The proposed system has been evaluated based on logic utilization, in terms of the number of slice flip flops, the number of 4 input LUTs (Look-Up Tables) and the number of bonded lOBs (Input Output Blocks). The results for capacity usage are very promising as compared to other similar research. 展开更多

The experimental level investigates the influence of the solar absorber tube diameter on the performances of the driving device. Several experiments were made in order to know the possibility to reach temperatures being able to ensure for example the ammonia vaporization in the generator of a solar absorption refrigeration system. In this paper, we propose MSDD, a multiple mobile sinks data dissemination mechanism for solving the dissemination problem. The main ideas of MSDD are constructing a two-tier grid structure by a designated sink, exploiting a hierarchical monitoring mechanism, and employing a global agent to track the sink locations in order to make the emergencies reported to the sinks immediately, In addition, MSDD supports the query-driven data dissemination. Being compared with TTDD, MSDD is theoretically proved to have less communication overhead. To study this problem, an important tool is the restricted isometry constant (RIC). Some papers provided the upper bounds of RIC to guarantee that the nuclear-norm minimization stably recovers a low-rank matrix. For example, Fazel improved the upper bounds to δ4Ar 〈 0.558 and δ3rA 〈 0.4721, respectively. Recently, the upper bounds of RIC can be improved to δ2rA 〈 0.307. In fact, by using some methods, the upper bounds of RIC can be improved to δ2tA 〈 0.4931 and δrA 〈 0.309. In this paper, we focus on the lower bounds of RIC, we show that there exists linear maps A with δ2rA 〉1√2 or δrA 〉 1/3 for which nuclear norm recovery fail on some matrix with rank at most r. These results indicate that there is only a little limited room for improving the upper bounds for δ2rA and δrA.Furthermore, we also discuss the upper bound of restricted isometry constant associated with linear maps A for Schatten p (0 〈 p 〈 1) quasi norm minimization problem. 展开更多

Some attractive properties are derived for the residual, whose norm is ξk, of the linear system obtained by the Lanczos method at outer iteration k + 1. Based on them, we make a refined analysis and establish new local convergence results. It is proved that (i) the inexact RQI with Lanezos converges quadratically provided that ξk ≤ξ with a constant ξ≥) 1 and (ii) the method converges linearly provided that ξk is bounded by some multiple of 1/‖τk‖ with ‖τk‖ the residual norm of the approximate eigenpair at outer iteration k. The results are fundamentally different from the existing ones that always require ξk 〈 1, and they have implications on effective implementations of the method. Based on the new theory, we can design practical criteria to control ξk to achieve quadratic convergence and implement the method more effectively than ever before. Numerical experiments confirm our theory and demonstrate that the inexact RQI with Lanczos is competitive to the inexact RQI with MINRES. 展开更多

The wireless electric vehicle(EV) charging system is highly safe and flexible. To reduce the weight and cost of EVs, the wireless charging system, which simplifies the structure inside an EV and utilizes the transmitter-side control method, has become popular. This study investigates the transmitter-side control methods in a wireless EV charging system. First, a universal wireless charging system is introduced, and the function of its transfer power is derived. It is observed that the transfer power can be controlled by regulating either the phase-shift angle or the DC-link voltage. Further, the influence of the control variables is studied using numerical analysis. Additionally, the corresponding control methods, namely the phase-shift angle and the DC-link voltage control, are compared by calculation and simulation. It is found that:(1) the system efficiency is low with the phase-shift control method because of the converter switching loss;(2) the dynamic response is slow with the DC-link voltage control method because of the large inertia of the inductor and capacitor;(3) both the control methods have limitations in their adjustable power range. Therefore, a combined control method is proposed, with the advantages of high system efficiency, fast dynamic response, and wide adjustable power range. Finally, experiments are performed to verify the validity of the theoretical analysis and the effectiveness of the proposed method. This study provides a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the transmitter-side control methods in the wireless charging system, considering the sensitivity of parameters, converter losses, system efficiency,and dynamic performance, with the dead-time effect taken into consideration. Moreover, the proposed control method can be used to realize the optimal combination of the phase-shift angle and the DC-link voltage with good dynamic performance, and it is useful for the optimal operation of the wireless charging system. 展开更多
