The efficiency of excavation a mining tunnel is definitely linked with modes of cut-holes. According to experience and methods of engineering analogy, the double-wedge cut, the 9-hole cut and the single spiral cut were determined originally by considering the production conditions and blasting environment of the mining tunnels of the-74 m horizontal in the Da-ye iron mine. Based on acquired modes of cut-holes, the effect of the cut was studied, on the one hand, by a numerical simulation method with the aid of LS-DYNA3D, a nonlinear dynamic finite element program; on the other hand, a spot experiment was carried out in the mining tunnels. Both the numerical simulation and the spot experiment demonstrated and agreed that a single spiral cut provides the optimum excavation effect. 展开更多

Steam mining method was injecting hot steam into the borehole to heat the hydrate strata at the same time of depressurization mining,which could promote further decomposition and expand mining areas of gas hydrate. Steam heat calculation would provide the basis for the design of heating device and the choice of the field test parameters. There were piping heat loss in the process of mining. The heat transfer of steam flowing in the pipe was steady,so the heat loss could be obtained easily by formula calculation. The power of stratum heating should be determined by numerical simulation for the process of heating was dynamic and the equations were usually nonlinear. The selected mining conditions were 500-millimeter mining radius,10 centigrade mining temperature and 180 centigrade steam temperature. Heat loss and best heating power,obtained by formula calculation and numerical simulation,were 21. 35 W/m and 20 kW. 展开更多

A numerical model based on a Continuum-based Distinct Element Method(CDEM) was used to carry out a dynamic simulation of the interaction between shield and rock strata movement in longwall mining. In Northern China, the Ordos coal field geological conditions and operational characteristics were used as a case example. The CDEM was constructed on Ordos coal field shield's operation characteristics and geological conditions. Numerical modelling was carried out to investigate the effects of different mining heights on the caving process, movement characteristics, equilibrium and stability conditions of overburden as the interaction between shield and surrounding rocks. With the numerical model, the internal factors for changes in shield resistance under different mining heights was found. The quantitative relationship between mining heights and shield resistance was also obtained by the numerical simulation. 展开更多

The Wongawilli strip pillar mining technique,which combines the strip pillar mining layout and Wongawilli mining technology,is a new high efficient mining technology for mining under surface structures. The Wongawilli strip pillar mining technique was studied in this paper using theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. As an example,the geological and mining conditions of a coal mine were used to design the Wongawilli strip pillar plans,including the support parameters of the entries and the mining technology. In order to control the surrounding rocks and manage the roof effectively during coal mining,the stress fields,displacement fields and plastic zones were studied by numerical simulation. The stress fields,displacement fields,and plastic zones generated by Wongawilli strip pillar mining were obtained. And the surface movement and deformation were also determined after mining was completed and its effects on surface structures were analyzed and evaluated. The results demonstrate that it is feasible to mine under surface structures with the Wongawilli strip pillar mining technique. The numerical simulation software FLAG2D was used to draw the relationship between surrounding rock deformation of roadway driving along next goaf and the size of the coal pillar, so the safety and suitable position of roadway was determined. The distribution of lateral abutment pressure was measured by using the ZYJ-30 drilling stress gauge in the coal wall. The conclusions of the numerical simulation were verified. 展开更多

Based on the decline in exploitation of coal resources, steep coal seam mining and mining face tensions continue to explore the feasibility analysis of steeply inclined faces in the gob. One of the key factors in utilizing the technology of gob-side entry retaining in steep coal seams is to safely and effectively prevent caving rock blocks from rushing into the gob-side entry by sliding downwards along levels. Using theoretical analysis and field methods, we numerically simulated the mining process on a fully-mechanized face in a steep coal seam. The stress and deformation process of roof strata has been analyzed, and the difficulty of utilizing the technology is considered and combined with practice in a steep working face in Lvshuidong mine. The feasibility of utilizing the technology of gob-side entry retaining in a steep coal seam has been recognised. We propose that roadways along the left lane offshoot body use a speciallymade reinforced steel dense net to build a dense rock face at the lower head. The results show that the lane offshoot branch creates effective roof control, safe conditions for roadway construction workers, and practical application of steeply inclined gob. 展开更多

After extracting the No.15seam, the overlying strata movement and the deformation of the No.9-10 protected seamwere studied. The experiment results show that it is feasible to destress the protectedseams with large interburden thickness. When the face had advanced 200 m from thesetup room, the No.9-10 seam was fully destressed, resulting in easy gas drainage in thedestressed zone. Goafs are threats to safe mining.Their imaging effects or those of other complex geological bodies are often poor in conventional reflected wave images.Hence,accurate detection of goafs has become an important problem,to be solved with a sense of urgency.Based on scattering theory,we used an equivalent offset method to extract Common Scattering Point gathers,in order to analyze different scattering wave characteristics between Common Scattering Point and Common Mid Point gathers and to compare stack and migration imaging effects.Our research results show that the scattering wave imaging method is more efficient than the conventional imaging method and is therefore a more effective imaging method for detecting goafs and other complex geological bodies.It has important implications for safe mining procedures and infrastructures. 展开更多

The protection region was determined by gas flow observation analysis, gas content contrast, and computer numerical simulation combined with engineering practice. In the process of gas content test, the fixed sampling method "big hole drill reaming, small orifice drill rod connected with core tube" was employed.
