The effect of hot compression on the grain boundary segregation and precipitation behavior of M6C carbide in theNi-20Cr-18W-1Mo superalloy was investigated by thermomechanical simulator, scanning electronic microscope (SEM) and X-raydiffraction (XRD). Results indicate that the amount of M6C carbides obviously increases in the experimental alloy after hotcompression. Composition analyses reveal that secondary M6C carbides at grain boundaries are highly enriched in tungsten.Meanwhile, the secondary carbide size of compressive samples is 3?5 μm in 10% deformation degree, while the carbide size ofundeformed specimens is less than 1 μm under aging treatment at 900 and 1000 ℃. According to the thermodynamic calculationresults, the Gibbs free energy of γ-matrix and carbides decreases with increase of the compression temperature, and the W-rich M6Ccarbide is more stable than Cr-rich M23C6. Compared with the experimental results, it is found that compressive stress accelerates theW segregation rate in grain boundary region, and further rises the rapid growth of W-rich M6C as compared with the undeformedone. 展开更多

It was found that the increase of activation energy results in the decrease of exponent and the increase of Tmax. The kinetic parameters were involved in the analysis of the thermal degradation of several polymers. The degradation kinetics of these polymers well complied with the prediction of the derivative expressions for the polymer degradation with single mechanism dominated. 展开更多

Thermal decomposition of polylactic acid (PLA) was studied in the presence of pine wood sawdust (PS), walnut shell (WS), corncob (CC) in order to understand the pyrolytic behavior of these components occurring in waste. A thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) was applied for monitoring the mass loss profiles under heating rate of 10℃·min^-1. Results obtained from this comprehensive investigation indicated that PLA was decomposed in the temperature range 300 -372℃, whereas the thermal degradation temperature of biomass is 183-462℃. The difference of mass loss (AW) between experimental and theoretical ones, calculated as algebraic sums of those from each separated component, is about 17%-46% at 300-400℃. These experimental results indicated a significant synergistic effect during PLA and biomass copyrolysis. Moreover, a kinetic analysis was performed to fit thermogravimetric data, the global processes being considered as one to two consecutive reactions. A reasonable fit to the experimental data was obtained for all materials and their blends. 展开更多

A novel water-soluble luminescent complex consisting of Eu(ally-dbm)3-2Tppo and poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide)(PNIPAM)is synthesized through a series of chemical reactions.The structure of the complex is characterized by TGA,GPC,HNMR,and the thermal-responsive uorescence of the complex in aqueous solution is investigated.It is found that PNIPAM collapse above the lower critical solution temperature causes the coordination bond breaking,leading to weakening of the uorescence from Eu3+and enhancing of the uorescence from the ligands.When temperature decreases,the uorescence from Eu3+is found to boost up and the uorescence from ligands weakens accordingly.It is deduced from this phenomenon that the ligands recoordinate with europium ions again along with the temperature decreasing,which is further confirmed by IR measurements.This thermal-responsive uorescence is of reversibility,which can be used as molecular probes for biological imaging and collapse studying of PNIPAM. 展开更多

Spatial and temporal variation of fish assemblages were investigated seasonally from May 2007 to February 2008 across 11 study sites in a subtropical small stream, the Puxi Stream, of the Huangshan Mountain. Along the longitudinal gradient from headwater to downstream, fish species richness and abundance increased gradually, but then decreased significantly at the lower reaches. The highest species richness and abundance were observed in August and the lowest in February. Based on analysis of similarities (ANOSIM), fish assemblages were significantly different in spatial variation but not in temporal variation. Although differences were observed both among sites and among stream orders, the lower R value in order-variation suggested stream order was not the optimal factor explaining the spatial variation of fish assemblages. In addition, dam construction did not significantly alter fish assemblages in the sites adjacent to and immediately downstream to dams. Using cluster analysis and non-metric Multi Dimensional Scaling analysis (NMS), assemblages were separated into three groups at a Bray-Curtis similarity value of 42%: the upper, middle and lower groups. Following analysis of similarity percentages of species contributions (SIM- PER), shifts in occurrence or abundance of S. curriculus, Z. platypus, R. bitterling and A. fasciatus contributed most to the differences amongst the three groups. Standard Deviation Redundancy Analysis (RDA) suggested that habitat structure (such as elevation, substrate, and flow velocity) contributed to the spatial and temporal pattem of fish assemblages in the Puxi Stream. In conclusion, the fish assemblages in Puxi Stream presented significant spatial but not temporal variation. Human disturbance has perhaps induced the decrease in species diversity in the lower reaches. However, no significant change was observed for fish assemblages in sites far from and immediately downstream from low-head dams [Current Zoology 56 (6): 670-677, 2010]. 展开更多

Using novolac phenolic resin, aniline and formaldehyde as raw materials, benzoxazine-phenolic copolymers with different percentages of benzoxazine rings were prepared. FT-IR was adopted to characterize the molecular structure of the novolac-type phenolic resin and the benzoxazine-phenolic copolymer BP31. In order to understand the curing process of the copolymers, the curing behavior and curing kinetic characteristics were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and the catalytical effect of phenolic hydroxyl on the curing behavior of copolymers was investigated. To investigate the thermal properties of this resin, the thermal degradation behaviors of the cured samples were studied by thermal gravimetric (TG) method, and glass-transition temperatures (Tg) of the cured copolymers were also evaluated by DSC. The dynamic Ozawa method was adopted to determine the kinetic parameters of the curing process as well. The activation energy is 78.8 kJ/mol and the reaction rate constant is in the range from 40.0 to 5.2 (K/min)" according to reaction temperatures. The Ozawa exponent decreases from 2.4 to 0.7 with the increase of reaction temperature, and curing mechanism is expounded briefly according to the results. TG result shows that the highest char yield of copolymers is 50.3%. The highest Tg of copolymers is 489 K, which is much higher than that of pure benzoxazine resin. 展开更多

Short carbon fiber preform reinforced geopolymer composites containing different contents of α-Al2O3 filler (Cr(a-Al2O3)/geopolymer composites) were fabricated, and the effects of heat treatment temperatures up to 1 200 ℃ on the thermal-mechanical properties were studied. The results show that the thermal shrinkage in the direction perpendicular to the lamination of the composites gradually increases with the increase of the heat treatment temperatures from room temperature (25 ℃ ) to 1000 ℃. However, the composites in the direction parallel to the lamination show an expansion behavior. Beyond 1 000℃, in the two directions the composites exhibit a larger degree of shrinkage due to the densification and crystallization. The mechanical properties of the composites show the minimum values in the temperature range from 600 to 800 ℃ as the hydration water of geopolymer matrix is lost. The addition of α-Al2O3 particle filler into the composites clearly increases the onset crystalline temperature of leucite (KAlSi2O6) from the amorphous geopolymer matrix. In addition, the addition of α-Al2O3 particles into the composites can not only help to keep volume stable at high temperatures but also effectively improve the mechanical properties of the composites subjected to thermal load to a certain extent. The main toughening mechanisms of the composites subjected to thermal load are attributed to fiber pulling-out. 展开更多

Diglycidy1-4,5-epoxycyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylate (TDE-85)/methyl tetrahydro-phthalic anhydride (MeTHPA) epoxy resin was modified by polyurethane(PU), and its structural characteristics and properties were studied by infrared spectrum analysis (IR), scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), mechanics testing and thermogravimetric analysis (TG). The results indicate that epoxy polymeric network Ⅰ and polyurethane polymeric network Ⅱ are formed in the PU-modified TDE-85/MeTHPA epoxy resin. Meanwhile the PU-modified TDE-85/MeTHPA resins have heterogeneous structure. The miscibility between epoxy (EP) and polyurethane (PU) as well as the phase size are dominantly determined by the mass fraction of polyurethane prepolymer (PUP) in the EP/PU blends. With the increase of PUP mass fraction, the tensile strength, impact strength and thermal stability of the PU-modified TDE-85/MeTHPA epoxy resin all firstly exhibit increasing tendency, and decrease after successively reaching their maxima. When the number-average molecular mass of PPG is 1 000 and the mass fraction of PUP is 15%, the tensile strength, impact strength and thermal stability of materials obtained, compared with TDE-85/MeTHPA epoxy resin, are improved obviously. 展开更多

To obtain a kind of biodegradable polymer material with satisfactory properties, a new biodegradable copolyester poly(lactic acid-co-glycol terephthalate) (PETA), was synthesized from three monomers of lactic acid, glycol and terephthalic acid. The resulting copolyesters, PETA, were characterized by FT-IR, ^1H-NMR, DSC, TGA and by the ways of weight loss rate to characterize their biodegradability. The findings in this work indicated that, the Tins and Tas of copolyesters PETA increased with increasing contents of the terephthalic acid units. From the biodegradation tests in natural soil, boiling water, acid buffer solution and alkali buffer solution, it was shown that the biodegradability of copolyesters PETA decreased with increasing contents of the terephthalic acid units. 展开更多

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR.) analysis indicated that the contents of —NH2 and —OH groups increased and fluoride decreased on the membrane surface after modification. Using this kind of affinity membrane, the effects of operation parameters such as pH, ionic strength and flow rate, on the amount of endotoxin removed were investigated. The results showed that the equilibrium adsorption capacity and the dissociation constant of the affinity membrane to endotoxin were 21.4 EU·mg-1 membrane and 0.50EU·ml-1, respectively, at pH 7.0 and ionic strength 0.2 mol·L-1. Adsorption appeared to follow a typical Langmuir adsorption isotherm. At pH 5.0, ionic strength of 0.2 mol·L-1, the removal rate of endotoxin from BSA solution with the chitosan affinity membrane was up to 88.6% (11.50 EU·mg-1 membrane), and the recovery of BSA was 93.4% (0.187mg·mg-1 membrane), while at pH 11.0, ionic strength of 0.2mol·L-1, the removal rate of endotoxin from lysozyme solution was 72.4% (9.92EU·mg-1 membrane), and the recovery of lysozyme was 92.3% (0.104 mg·mg-1 membrane). 展开更多

As more and more profile fibers and multi-variance fibers used in textile industry, the properties of above two kinds of differential polyester filaments after drawing in different heat conditions were studied. Finally following conclusions were obtained: Firstly, the tenacity and elongation at break decreases with the rise of Tp. Secondly, the tenacity rises but the elongation at break decreases with the increase of Tb. Then, when the Tb is low, both the shrinkage in boiling water and hi hot air decreases with the rise of Tp, while, when the Tb is high, both the shrinkage rises with the rise of Tp. Diglycidyl-4,5-epoxycyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylate(TDE-85)/methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride (MeTHPA) epoxy resin was modified with polyurethane(PU) and the interpenetrating polymer networks(IPNs) of PU-modified TDE-85/MeTHPA resin were prepared. The structural characteristics and properties of PU-modified TDE-85/MeTHPA resin were investigated by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectrum,emission scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and thermogravimetry(TG). The results indicate that epoxy polymer network (Ⅰ) and polyurethane polymer network (Ⅱ) of the modified resin can be obtained and the networks (Ⅰ) and (Ⅱ) interpenetrate and tangle highly each other at the phase interface. The micro morphology presents heterogeneous structure. The integrative properties of PU-modified TDE-85/MeTHPA epoxy resin are improved obviously. The PU-modified TDE-85/ MeTHPA resin's tensile strength reaches 69.39 MPa,the impact strength reaches 23.56 kJ/m,the temperature for the system to lose 1% mass (t1%) is 300 ℃,and that for the system to lose 50% mass (t50%) is 378 ℃. Compared with those of TDE-85/MeTHPA resin,the tensile strength,impact strength,t1% and t50% of the PU-modified resin increases by 48%,115%,30 ℃,11 ℃,respectively. In this paper, the rigid structural thermosensitive polymer (made in lab) of NBS (N-butyl styrene), N, N-DEAM (diethyl acrylamide) and AM (acrylamide) was prepared. The influence of viscosity for copolymer solution under different reaction conditions such as temperatures and inorganic salt (monovalent salt and divalent salt) was analyzed. The experiment studies the combination of polymer situation and three different types of surfactants under certain conditions of the room temperature (25℃) and the formation temperature (76℃). At last, the influence of the surfactant kinds and concentration on the viscosity of the polymer solution are studied. The results show that: The copolymer solution, the apparent viscosity of which decreases with the increasement of temperature, but its viscosity has suddenly increased and thereafter dropped in the transition temperature. So the temperature sensitive effect ofcopolymer is very significantly. When the concentration of inorganic salt and surfactant can be controlled in certain extent, the copolymer solution, the effect increases with the increasement of the concentration, but the viscosity of which decreases with the increasement of shear rate. New route of the utilization of products obtained by waste plastic pyrolysis has been investigated. ct-olefin-succinic-anhydride intermediate based on new experimental additives has been developed and used for achieving the better properties of carbon fibre reinforced polymer composites. Hydrocarbon fractions were produced by the pure thermal pyrolysis of waste polymers in a tube reactor using 550 ℃ in the absence of oxygen. Selected compounds (C30-C50) from pyrolysis products have been used as raw materials in the additive synthesis step. Polymer composite specimens have been investigated among others by universal tensile machine, SEM (scanning electron microscopy) and FTIR (fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy) methods. The tensile strength could be increased by 29.9%, the E-modulus by 24.2% and the Charpy impact strength by 13.3% in the presence of the experimental additive. Fibre-matrix interaction has been studied on SEM micrographs of the fractured face of composites. The results of mechanical testes have been supported by the SEM micrographs and possible shames of the coupling have been proposed. 展开更多

Thermogravimetric study of medical transfusion tube (MTT) waste containing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) was carried out using the thermogravimetric analyser (TGA) with N2, at different heating rates of 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 ℃/min. The purpose is to obtain pyrolysis characteristics and kinetic parameters of medical waste. The experimental results indicate that the pyrolysis behavior of the MTT sample is in agreement with its main ingredient of PVC, appearing two stair stepping stages. The influence of the additives in MTT on pyrolysis behavior was also revealed, which could improve MTT pyrolysis at lower temperature in the first stage, and cause obvious unsmoothness and asymmetry of the second DTG peak. Four n-order kinetic models of Coats-Redfern, Ozawa, Kissinger and Freeman-carroll were used to get the kinetic parameters. Furthermore, a novel "two-step four-reaction model" was established to simulate the whole continuous process. The different methods and the kinetic parameters thus obtained were discussed and compared with each other in literatures. The reasons of deviation among kinetic values were tried to be elucidated. The new established model could more satisfactorily describe the pyrolysis process of MTT, being more mechanistic and conveniently serving for the engineering. 展开更多
