A brief review including fruit species, developing history, growing area, output, and distribution in the whole country is made in the paper. Characteristics of the dominant kinds of greenhouse, environmental control methods, and standards of temperature, humidity, light and CO2 for different fruit species are presented. Information on varieties, growing benefits, special management practices and other aspects of the main fruit species used for protected cultivation are also presented.展开更多

While a direct application of such anisotropic silica gels is for an optical anisotropic medium possessing chemical resistance, we show here their possibility of medium in materials processing. In this direction, for example, silica hydrogels have so far been used as media of crystal growth. In this paper, as opposed to the soft-wet state, dried silica gels have been investigated. We have found that lead (II) nanocrystallites were formed induced by electron irradiation to lead (ll)-doped dried Hydrogels made from a sodium metasilicate solution doped with silica gels prepared in a high magnetic field such as B = 10 T. lead (II) acetate were prepared. The dried specimens were irradiated by electrons in a transmission electron microscope environment. Electron diffraction patterns indicated the crystallinity of lead (II) nanocrystallites depending on B. An advantage of this processing technique is that the crystallinity can be controlled through the strength of magnetic field B applied during gel preparation. Specific skills are not required to control the strength of magnetic field.展开更多

In no case can such a change in our outlook yield more illuminating results than a serious look at the 1608 Quarto version of Shakespeare's King Lear. The 1623 Folio version and the "conflated" modem editions, which combine the "best" readings of the Quarto and Folio versions, both anoint his godson Edgar, the Earl of Gloucester, as the new king at the end. However, the 1608 Quarto version elevates, not Edgar, but Lear's son-in-law, the Duke of Albany, to the kingship at the end. Shakespeare may be telling the same story in texts that seem strikingly similar, but the difference in the endings shifts the center of gravity in both plays, requiring an interpretation that makes sense out this difference. The title page of the 1608 Quarto version of King Lear describes it as a "history"; yet this "same" King Lear is listed as a "tragedy" in the 1623 Folio. The difference between those two words is the key to why Shakespeare's two versions could have startlingly different outcomes.展开更多
