The navigational process creates a ...Reconfigurability of the electrical network in a shipboard power system (SPS) after its failure is central to the restoration of power supply and improves survivability of an SPS. The navigational process creates a sequence of different operating conditions. The priority of some loads differs in changing operating conditions. After analyzing characteristics of typical SPS, a model was developed used a grade III switchboard and an environmental prioritizing agent (EPA) algorithm. This algorithm was chosen as it is logically and physically decentralized as well as multi-agent oriented. The EPA algorithm was used to decide on the dynamic load priority, then it selected the means to best meet the maximum power supply load. The simulation results showed that higher priority loads were the first to be restored. The system satisfied all necessary constraints, demonstrating the effectiveness and validity of the proposed method.展开更多

Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) has been identified as an effective and clean alternative choice for marine power system.This paper emphasizes on the dynamic modeling of SOFC power system and its performance based upon m...Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) has been identified as an effective and clean alternative choice for marine power system.This paper emphasizes on the dynamic modeling of SOFC power system and its performance based upon marine operating circumstance.A SOFC power system model has been provided considering thermodynamic and electrochemical reaction mechanism.Subcomponents of lithium ion battery, power conditioning unit, stack structure and controller are integrated in the model.The dynamic response of the system is identified according to the inertia of its subcomponent and controller.Validation of the whole system simulation at steady state and transit period are presented, concerning the effects of thermo inertia, control strategy and seagoing environment.The simulation results show reasonable accuracy compare with lab test.The models can be used to predict performance of a SOFC power system and identify the system response when part of the component parameter is adjusted.展开更多

This pr...An immune algorithm solution is proposed in this paper to deal with the problem of optimal coordination of local physically based controllers in order to preserve or retain mid and long term voltage stability. This problem is in fact a global coordination control problem which involves not only sequencing and timing different control devices but also tuning the parameters of controllers. A multi-stage coordinated control scheme is presented, aiming at retaining good voltage levels with minimal control efforts and costs after severe disturbances in power systems. A self-pattem-recognized vaccination procedure is developed to transfer effective heuristic information into the new generation of solution candidates to speed up the convergence of the search procedure to global optima. An example of four bus power system case study is investigated to show the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm, compared with several existing approaches such as differential dynamic programming and tree-search.展开更多
A novel technique for the optimal tuning of power system stabilizer (PSS) was proposed,by integrating the modified particle swarm optimization (MPSO) with the chaos (MPSOC).Firstly,a modification in the particle swarm...A novel technique for the optimal tuning of power system stabilizer (PSS) was proposed,by integrating the modified particle swarm optimization (MPSO) with the chaos (MPSOC).Firstly,a modification in the particle swarm optimization (PSO) was made by introducing passive congregation (PC).It helps each swarm member in receiving a multitude of information from other members and thus decreases the possibility of a failed attempt at detection or a meaningless search.Secondly,the MPSO and chaos were hybridized (MPSOC) to improve the global searching capability and prevent the premature convergence due to local minima.The robustness of the proposed PSS tuning technique was verified on a multi-machine power system under different operating conditions.The performance of the proposed MPSOC was compared to the MPSO,PSO and GA through eigenvalue analysis,nonlinear time-domain simulation and statistical tests.Eigenvalue analysis shows acceptable damping of the low-frequency modes and time domain simulations also show that the oscillations of synchronous machines can be rapidly damped for power systems with the proposed PSSs.The results show that the presented algorithm has a faster convergence rate with higher degree of accuracy than the GA,PSO and MPSO.展开更多

Based on quality engineering theory, the optimization algorithm is proposed by integrating the Monte Carlo descriptive sampling, elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) and 6-sigma design method. With the steering road feel and the steering portability as optimization targets, the system parameters are optimized by the proposed optimization algorithm. The simulation results show that the system optimized based on quality engineering theory can improve the steering road feel, guarantee steering stability and steering portability and thus provide a theoretical basis for the design and optimization of the novel electric power steering system.展开更多

The coordinated design problem of PSS and TCSC controllers over a wide range of loading conditions is formulated as a multi-objective optimization problem which is the aggregation of two objectives related to damping ratio and damping factor. By minimizing the objective function with oscillation, the characteristics between areas are contained and hence the interactions among the PSS and TCSC controller under transient conditions are modified. For evaluation of effectiveness and robustness of proposed controllers, the performance was tested on a weakly connected power system subjected to different disturbances, loading conditions and system parameter variations. The cigenvalues analysis and nonlinear simulation results demonstrate the high performance of proposed controllers which is able to provide efficient damping of low frequency oscillations.展开更多

Tungsten carbide and zeolite nanocomposite was prepared by combining a mechanochemical approach with a reduction and carbonization approach,using natural zeolite and ammonia metatungstate as precursors.The sample was ...Tungsten carbide and zeolite nanocomposite was prepared by combining a mechanochemical approach with a reduction and carbonization approach,using natural zeolite and ammonia metatungstate as precursors.The sample was characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope.The results showed that the crystal phase of the sample is composed of zeolite,monotungsten carbide and bitungsten carbide.The mass percentage and the crystallite diameter of tungsten carbide change along with the reacted time.Its electrocatalytic activity was measured with a microelectrode system with three electrodes.The results show that its electrocatalytic property is related to its crystal phase and the mass percentage of tungsten carbide,and its electrocatalytic activity is connected with the property of electrolyte,in which it is measured.Synergistic effect between tungsten carbide and zeolite is found during electrocatalysis.展开更多

A lot of matters and knowledge need to be studied before the idea of deregulation can be implemented. Theoretically, it is said that deregulation can make a large impact to increase efficiency and encourage the competitiveness among related parties. However, to implement the concept of deregulation to electric power supply is very tough challenge. In deregulation environment, regardless of market structure, to know the transmission usage allocation is vital and very a complex problem. Thus, a lot of algorithms have been proposed to overcome it. This paper intends to solve the transmission usage allocation problem using optimization approach. The optimization tool that will be utilized is Genetic Algorithm (GA). GA is probabilistic search technique that has its roots in the principle of genetics and strives for survival. In addition, GA is very robust. Since the nonlinear nature of power flow, it is expected that GA can give optimize results that equitable and acceptable. In this paper, 4-bus and Klos-Kerner 11-bus systems are used for analysis studies. Comparison with other method is also given in this paper.展开更多

According to the features of constrained optimization for multi-variable function, a multi-objective genetic algorithm (GA) was designed. Based on the model of system, the quantitative formula of the road feel, sensitivity, and operation stability of the steering were induced. Considering the road feel and sensitivity of steering as optimization objectives, and the operation stability of steering as constraint, the multi-objective GA was proposed and the system parameters were optimized. The simulation results show that the system optimized by multi-objective genetic algorithm has better road feel, steering sensibility and steering stability. The energy of steering road feel after optimization is 1.44 times larger than the one before optimization, and the energy of portability after optimization is 0.4 times larger than the one before optimization. The ground test was conducted in order to verify the feasibility of simulation results, and it is shown that the pure electric bus equipped with the recirculating ball-type EPS system can provide better road feel and better steering portability for the drivers, thus the optimization methods can provide a theoretical basis for the design and optimization of the recirculating ball-type EPS system.展开更多

文摘Korea Electric Power Corporation in charge of the power IT project "Development of Prototype for Advanced Substation Automation System based on the Digital Control Technology", is performing the verification of performance of the substation automation system based on IEC 61850. In order to verify a transformer protective lED that might be operating in substation automation system, the new standardized document and procedures are required in the aspect of the utility like KEPCO. But there is nothing to describe systematically how to verify IEC 6 1850 based lED in the system environment except an individual IED testing way. This paper will present the substation automation system based ways and procedures to verify the protective function of the IED using UML (Unified Modeling Language).
