Objective: To estimate the prevalence rates of neural tube defects (NTDs) in Heshun County, Shanxi Province, China by Bayesian smoothing technique. Methods: A total of 80 infants in the study area who were diagnosed with NTDs were analyzed. Two mapping techniques were then used. Firstly, the GIS software ArcGIS was used to map the crude prevalence rates. Secondly, the data were smoothed by the method of empirical Bayes estimation. Results: The classical statistical approach produced an extremely dishomogeneous map, while the Bayesian map was much smoother and more interpretable. The maps produced by the Bayesian technique indicate the tendency of villages in the southeastern region to produce higher prevalence or risk values. Conclusions: The Bayesian smoothing technique addresses the issue of heterogeneity in the population at risk and it is therefore recommended for use in explorative mapping of birth defects. This approach provides procedures to identify spatial health risk levels and assists in generating hypothesis that will be investigated in further detail. 展开更多

The current detection methods mostly are used after casing damage, which is not very effective. With the rapid development of China's offshore oil industry, the number of offshore oil wells is becoming larger and larger. Because the cost of offshore oil well is very high, the casing damage will cause huge economic losses. What's more, it can also bring serious pollution to marine environment. So the effective methods of detecting casing damage are required badly. The accumulation of stress is the main reason for the casing damage. Magnetic anisotropy technique based on counter magnetostriction effect can detect the stress of casing in real time and help us to find out the hidden dangers in time. It is essential for us to prevent the casing damage from occurring. However, such technique is still in the development stage. Previous studies mostly got the relationship between stress and magnetic signals by physical experiment, and the study of physical mechanism in relative magnetic permeability connecting the stress and magnetic signals is rarely reported. The present paper uses the ANSYS to do the three-dimensional finite element numerical simulation to study how the relative magnetic permeability works for the oil casing model. We find that the quantitative relationship between the stress' s variation and magnetic induction intensity's variation is: Δδ =K* ΔB, K = 8.04×109, which is proved correct by physical experiment. 展开更多

目的探讨多模态影像融合在颅底肿瘤的诊断、治疗中的应用价值。方法 9例颅底肿瘤术前均行DynaCTA检查及MRI薄层(2 mm)增强扫描检查,将多组影像数据输入工作站,采用"双容积重建"技术进行脑血管及MRI的影像融合,通过静态及动态... 目的探讨多模态影像融合在颅底肿瘤的诊断、治疗中的应用价值。方法 9例颅底肿瘤术前均行DynaCTA检查及MRI薄层(2 mm)增强扫描检查,将多组影像数据输入工作站,采用"双容积重建"技术进行脑血管及MRI的影像融合,通过静态及动态融合影像观察肿瘤与脑结构、血管及颅骨的毗邻关系,并对肿瘤的诊断、手术治疗及预防血管并发症进行分析。结果 9例均获得满意的影像融合、具有很好的空间一致性,在一张影像上可以清晰显示病变及其周围脑结构、血管及颅骨解剖关系,提高精准性诊断,并应用于指导治疗策略、设计手术划及预防并发症。9例均恢复满意出院。结论多模态影像融合对提高颅底肿瘤的诊断精准性、提高肿瘤全切除率、降低病死率和残疾率效果肯定,对血管损伤并发症治疗疗效肯定。 展开更多

Duodenal trauma is uncommon but nowadays seen more and more frequently due to the increased automobile accidents and violent events. The management of duodenal trauma can be complicated, especially when massive injury to the pancreatic-duodenal-biliary complex occurs simultaneously. Even the patients receive surgeries in time, multiple postoperative complications and high mortality are common. To know and manage duodenal trauma better, we searched the recent related literature in PubMed by the keywords of duodenal trauma, therapy, diagnosis and abdomen. It shows that because the diagnosis and management are complicated and the mortality is high,duodenal trauma should be treated in time and tactfully.And application of new technology can help improve the management. In this review, we discussed the incidence,diagnosis, management, and complications as well as mortality of duodenal trauma. 展开更多

Objective:To observe the effects of electroacupuncture(EA)with three frequencies(100 Hz,2 Hz,and 2 Hz/100 Hz)on the apoptosis of neurons and c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)signaling pathway in the hippocampus of rats with vascular dementia(VD),and explore the mechanism of EA intervention for VD.Methods:Fifty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into a model group,a sham operation group,a 100 Hz EA group,a 2 Hz EA group,and a 2 Hz/100 Hz EA group,with ten rats in each group.The VD model rats were established by repeated ischemia-reperfusion of bilateral common carotid arteries.The rats in the EA groups received EA intervention at Baihui(GV20),Dazhui(GV14),Geshu(BL17)and Zusanli(ST36),once a day for 14 d.Afterward,Morris water maze was used to examine the learning and memory performances of the rats in each group,hematoxylin-eosin staining to observe the histomorphological changes in the hippocampal CA1 region,terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling to test the apoptosis of neurons in the hippocampal CA1 region,and Western blot to detect the protein expression levels of JNK,phosphorylated JNK(p-JNK),Caspase-8,and Caspase-3 in the hippocampus tissue.Results:Compared with the sham operation group,the escape latency of the model group in water maze test was prolonged;the number of crossing the original platform was decreased(P<0.01);the hippocampal neurons were severely damaged and the number of surviving neurons was decreased(P<0.01),whereas the number of apoptotic neurons was increased(P<0.01);the protein expression levels of JNK,p-JNK,Caspase-8,and Caspase-3 in the hippocampus were significantly increased(P<0.01).Compared with the model group,the escape latency of each EA group was significantly shortened;the number of crossing the original platform was significantly increased(P<0.01);the damage of hippocampal neurons was alleviated,the number of surviving neurons was increased(P<0.01),and the number of apoptotic neurons was decreased(P<0.01);the protein expression levels of JNK,p-JNK,Caspase-8,and Caspase-3 in the hippocampus were decreased(P<0.01).The results in the 2 Hz EA group and the 2 Hz/100 Hz EA group were superior to those in the 100 Hz EA group.Conclusion:EA with the three frequencies(100 Hz,2 Hz,and 2 Hz/100 Hz)can improve the learning and memory performances in VD rats subjected to ischemia-reperfusion,its mechanism may be related to the inhibition of neuronal apoptosis and the regulation of the related protein expression of JNK signaling pathway,and the intervention effects of EA with 2 Hz and 2 Hz/100 Hz are more significant. 展开更多
