And then the correlations between the ultrasonic attenuation and the pulp density, and the particle size were obtained. The derived model was combined with the experiment and the analysis of experimental data to determine the inverse model relating ultrasonic attenuation coefficient with size distribution. Finally, an optimization method of inverse parameter, genetic algorithm was applied for particle size distribution. The results of inverse calculation show that the precision of measurement was high.展开更多

Cascade impactor PM samples from six size ranges: 〈 0.49 μm, 0.49-0.9 μm, 0.9-1.5μm, 1.5-3.0 p.m, 3.0-7.2 μm and 7.2-10 μm were collected from inside two stacks within G6mez Palacios and Torreon cities. ICP-AES (inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry) analysis on collected Whatman fiberglass filters demonstrates that the PM are matrices mostly constituted of carbonates and silicates with abundant fine metalliferous particles. The metals with the most concentrations averaged over all size ranges were Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Ti. The size distributions of metals detected in this work have been plotted as normalized histogram concentration of each size fraction, the total concentration, and the aerodynamic particle diameter, which is a useful method for comparing the contributions of coarse and fine particles to pollutant concentrations.展开更多

The ETC is determined based on certain hypotheses that connect the behavior of a real composite material A, to that of a model composite material B, filled with mono-dimensional filler. The application of these hypotheses to the Maxwell model for ETC is presented. The validation of the new model and its characteristic equation was carried out using experimental data from the reference. The comparison showed that by using the size distribution law a very good fit between the equation of the new model (the size distribution model for the ETC) and the reference experimental results is obtained, even for high volume fractions, up to about 50%.展开更多

It is classified as a type II compound in the Biopharmaceutics Classification System, and thus the particle size of its active pharmaceutical ingredient(API) should be strictly controlled during the manufacturing process. In the present study, laser diffraction was adopted to measure the particle size distribution of deferasirox API. We also developed and validated an accurate and convenient method by investigating important optical parameters and sample dispersing conditions. The relative standard deviation values, namely, d(0.1), d(0.5), d(0.9), and d(4,3), measured via methodology validation and actual sample measurement were < 3%. The dissolution curves of several batches of dispersible tablets prepared using deferasirox with different particle sizes were compared in the four dissolved media to investigate the influence of particle size on drug dissolution in vitro. Results indicated that the particle size distribution of deferasirox API significantly affected the release of its dispersible tablet.展开更多

There are four forms called the "four states" in the Tai-Chi diagram. Of the four states, under Yang are the Major Yang and the Minor Yin, and under Yin are the Major Yin and the Minor Yang. The present study provides the proper positions of the four states in the ancient Tal-Chi diagram. The Fu Xi's Eight Trigrams Chart located along the ancient Tai-Chi diagram is also developed in the present study. The interface curve of Yin-Yang in the ancient Tai-Chi diagram has never been described mathematically. It can now be formulated by the equations describing the particle paths in the Lagrangian flow field.展开更多
